Number of UM instances per UM service?

I have Vcenter 4.1 running Update Manager currently.  I also have a Vcenter Appliance running ESX1 5.5.
Is it possible to connect the ESXi environment to the current Update Manager instance in use?
I did see a similar post stating it is not possible, though I believe the person had 2 Vcenter servers.
Thanks in advance.

Each vCenter must have a dedicated VUM. But if you want, you can use shared repository

  • ORA-20001: Maximum number of email messages per workspace exceeded

Greetings. We are running APEX 4.1.1. I have an application where we have to send out email messages to a list of emails. Currently there are 2469 email addresses. Originally we put the email addresses in the BCC but we received an error that we had exceeded the size limit of the BCC. So we modified our procedure to send one email at a time, in a loop.
Now we are receiving the following error message:
"ORA-20001: You have exceeded the maximum number of email messages per workspace"
Has anyone else run into this issue? What is maximum number or email messages per workspace? Is it a limit per day, per session?
We have not added emails to this table since last year, so the maximum number of email messages allowed may have changed recently?
I did find this Forum post that addressed the issue but no one responded:
How many mails i can send at a time per day using APEX mail system?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi jfosteroracle,
You are getting the error may be the following reason,
    Check the following,
Login as ADMIN and Goto -->Manage Instance-->Instance Settings--> Mail-->Maximum Emails per workspace
Actually this number denotes the Number of mails can be sent per 24 hour for the workspace,It may exceeded.
    It may be the reason.
    Thank you.

  • Max-instances-per-pk attribute

Does anybody know what is "max-instances-per-pk" attribute in
    <entity-deployment> element in orion-ejb-jar.xml file?
    I'm using oc4j version:
    E:\oc4j\j2ee\home>java -jar oc4j.jar -version
Oracle9iAS (9.0.2.0.0) Containers for J2EEand when I deploy my CMP EJB I get this attribute added to my orion-ejb-jar.xml file with value 20!!!!!
And when I try to create (or findByPrimaryKey) many beans with
the same primary key, after 20 my server is hanging and I get timeout exceptions:
    for (int i=0; i<100; i++) mybean.findByPrimaryKey("1");
    when i==20 I get:

How do I set this value to infinity?
Why I can not find any documentation about this?????
    Please help,
    Artur

Artur -- max-instances-per-pk controls the size of the pool of wrapper instances for OC4J. I would just set it to a very large
integer value. It will be documented in the production release of the EJB guide but for now here is a section from
book. Also, the cache will be able to be disabled but that function was not in the pre-release. Lastly, we should be
posting some of the documentation very soon (look for an announcement) so that will help to clarify some things.
The wrapper instance is OC4J-generated wrapper code that provides for the
services requested in the deployment descriptor. Before the bean instance is
invoked, the client retrieves a handle to the wrapper instance. When the client
invokes the bean, the wrapper is associated with a bean instance.
The max-instances-per-pk attribute sets the maximum entity bean
wrapper instances allowed in its pool for a given primary key. An entity beans
wrapper code can be pooled if it is not used by a client.
The default maximum value is 50. Set the maximum wrapper instances as
    follows:
    <entity-deployment ... max-instances-per-pk="20"
    </entity-deployment>
Set the minimum wrapper instances as follows:
    <entity-deployment ... min-instances-per-pk="2"
    </entity-deployment>

  • 1 Instance per 2 CPUs or 4 CPUs

    All,
Customers like to have a big bx with 8 - 24 CPUs to run BEA. BEA recommends 1

per instance accordingly. As for the performance impact - I wouldn't expect
significant difference if you don't have bottlenecks in the middle tier.
What would concern me personally is that such a big-fat-box becomes a
single point a failure - if it dies, it'll take with it all those weblogic instances.
It would make more sense to partition it to increase failover capabilities of
    the infrastructure.

  • What is the number for Verizon Wireless  Corporate Customer Service Complaint for CA

My Complaint:  I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for approx 20 years.  I called customer service to seek an early upgrade for my daughter's phone. She is away in college and her phone is malfunctioning.  She is eligible for an upgrade in approx 6 weeks so I did not want to spend the money on a replacement phone when since we were planning on updating to something newer.  The customer service rep to me they could not do the early upgrade an to call back in a few weeks. After explaining this was unacceptable (I do not like the idea of a young female being out of state and away from home with no reliable means of communication), she places me on hold to later return with the only offer of  I must purchase a new device through her ( over the phone) which will be shipped to me, the phone was priced $100.00 more than the online price (they will not price match), plus i must pay $30.00 upgrade fee, $35.00 activation fee and taxes on the retail price of the phone.  I am upset and disappointed with the quality of service provided by Verizon being a 20 year customer.  If not for the seriousness and urgency of this matter, i would not have asked for an early upgrade.  It is times such as these that you get to see how much of a "valued customer" you really are.   I guess you are valued as long as you pay your bill and continually  purchase their products.  I would like to speak with someone from Verizon's corporate or customer relations department.  As of now I am really considering changing my service to a different provider.  I have multiple accounts with Verizon and i will canx each after the current contract committment expire (starting with my daughter's phone which expires in 6 weeks) In the meantime I will go purchase her a new phone with someone else and take comfort knowing she will have reliable communication.

I started with them in 1985. It has been wonderful service but very expensive. They seem to operate on day of deposit day of withdrawal. That means that I have no benefits nothing beyond the normal customer if I don't pay my bill they shut me off. That's why I have switch to another provider and I have better service lower cost and better phones. you can't beat  other providers I mean it. Please don't expect more from verizon other than a "pay me more money and I'll do what you want" because it's all about money. Read the transcripts from current Verizon employees all over the internet. The company is going down and they're taking customers with them.

    Hi Dariel Pérez ,

  • VMM - Add 2 hosts in cluster. 1st added OK, 2nd Failed Error 416. Retry gives Error 2912 An instance of the service is already running 0x80070420

Have 2 host cluster as part of infrastructure adding to VMM.
Added cluster server. 1st had no issue and has picked up it's VMs. Second gave this error below:
    Error (416)
Agent installation timed out while waiting on service VMMAgentInstaller on host02domain.private.
    Recommended Action
Ensure that the Windows Installer service is running on host02.domain.private and try the operation again.
Sure the Windows Installer has nothing to do with this but in case I manually started it on the server without issue.
On retrying first without starting Windows Installer manually and then doing so in both instances I get:
    Error (2912)
An internal error has occurred trying to contact the host02.domain.private server: : .
WinRM: URL: [http://host02.domain.private:5985], Verb: [INVOKE], Method: [GetVirtualizationStatus], Resource: [http://schemas.microsoft.com/wbem/wsman/1/wmi/root/scvmm/AgentManagement]
An instance of the service is already running (0x80070420)
    Recommended Action
Check that WS-Management service is installed and running on server host02.domain.private. For more information use the command "winrm helpmsg hresult". If host02.domain.private is a host/library/update server or a PXE server role then ensure
that VMM agent is installed and running. Refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742275 for more details.
I've tried killing the VMM Agent running on the host (which is running now after the attempted deploy) and rerunning - as the second error indicates it can't run because it's already running (far as I can figure). But even though it takes longer to run then
it still fails with exactly the same error.
I've checked the host and winrm shows as already running and already set up for remote management.
    Am I missing something?

    Hi Allister,
What is the version of SCVMM ?
Did you follow the document ?
    As for VMM 2008R2 :
"On the Select Host Servers page, in the Computer name box, type either the name of the cluster or the name of any node in the cluster, and then click
    Add."
"Do not skip Active Directory name verification. If you do, the wizard will add the host as a stand-alone host instead of discovering the cluster nodes "
"When you specify the name of a failover cluster that was created in Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2, or you specify a node in one of these clusters, the Add Hosts Wizard discovers all nodes in the cluster and adds
    them to VMM. "

    Also 2012 :
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg610648.aspx
For your case , I  would suggest you to stop VMM service and remove the added cluster from
scvmm then follow the article and add cluster again .

  • Weird number of disk-transfers per second when in SYNC mode

Hi, I've managed to configure BDB in synchronous mode (i.e., each put is persisted on disk when committing). However, now I'm doing 2000 puts per seconds, each with payload from 10 to 250 kilobytes, yet I'm getting (from iostat) that each disk-transfer is only about 6 kilobytes (because of 23 megabytes written on disk per second, divided by 3750 transfers per second). How is that even possible? Is there a way of telling BDB to minimize the number of disk-transfers per second in SYNC mode? It seems that BDB is breaking each put's payload into smaller pieces, and only then saving to disk in a bunch of disk-transfers.

    Hi,
JE does not split up a single write into multiple writes -- and certainly doesn't do an fsync for each one.
JE may do multiple writes (but not fsyncs) for a single, multi-operation txn if the write buffer fills.  And it will do multiple writes for a single operation, if the record is larger than the write buffer.  However, it doesn't sounds like this (overflowing of the write buffer) is what you're experiencing.  In any case, you can configure the size of the JE write buffer with EnvironmentConfig.LOG_TOTAL_BUFFER_BYTES, LOG_NUM_BUFFERS, and LOG_BUFFER_SIZE.
Another thing is that JE will group fsyncs (this is called "group commit") when multiple threads are committing concurrently with SYNC durability.  In this case you'll see a smaller number of physical writes than the number of commits.
I asked a colleague who has more experience with iostat than I do about this, and he gave me the following information:
We would expect there to be one sync per put on average, assuming the application is doing serial writes and there are no group commits to further obfuscate the issue. Given the high sync write rate, the writes are presumably to an SSD, or spinning rust with a large non-volatile disk write cache
I'm not sure what he means by disk transactions in iostats. Perhaps he means the number of disk transfer requests issued to the device listed as tps (transfers per sec) in iostat output.
If he is using ext3 and he does not have the file system mounted with noatime, he may be observing write requests to update the file system "atime" metadata with each request. So for 2K sync puts/sec he would see roughly 4K (2k put + 2k atime update) write requests/sec and his average write payload would be ~12KB/transfer (the atime write payload is negligible), which would be consistent with the application's put behavior. This is all a guess.
    I hope this helps.

  • How can I know the number of ejb instances

    Hi all,
We need to know how can we get the number of ejb instances (entity and session) while the application is running.
We have a memory leak, so we need to know the amount opf memory used.
Please, it´s quite urgent, can anybody help us? It seems like an Oracle 9ias 903 bug.
    Thanks

I'm not sure if this will help you, but the "Spy" application that comes with OC4J stand-alone may help. I suggest you search this forum's archives for the words "Spy" and "AggreSpy".
    Good Luck,

  • SCCM 2012 Reporting Code Returns Same Value For Total Number Of Required Updates Per Computer

I'm trying to make a custom report in SCCM 2012 R2 with SQL 2012 since Microsoft took out the ability to list the number of updates needed per computer. This was in WSUS reporting but is not in SCCM reporting. I've made a custom report for this but can't
quite get it to work. The report runs but the same value for total number of updates needed shows up for every computer. I took a query from one report and am trying to get it to run inside the select statement from another report. Here is the code as it is

There's plenty wrong with it. It gives you no idea of how many patches each box needs. Then you have to click on each computer, click the sort arrow by the "required" column, and count the number needed. When you have hundreds of computers to work on this
is a big deal as it's very time consuming. What's great about the view in WSUS that had this is that it listed this for you and you could sort the required column. So if have most computers needing 2 patches, you can go find the one that needs 40 and 150 (to
over exaggerate) and put the time on them needed to see why they're so far behind. The WSUS format was quick, easy, and informative. SCCM makes getting this info a royal PITA which is why I'm (and many others) so royally peeved at MicroShaft for removing this
functionality, but that's what we've all come to expect from MicroShaft--just like when then took the nice colorful themes out of Office 2010 and replaced them in Office 2013 with just white, gray, and a darker gray. That's super boring and actually hurts
    my eyes.

  • Unable to find an Instance of reporting services

    Hi,
I doing a fresh installation of MBAM 2.5 and getting error "Unable to find an instance of Reproting service" during check prerequisites page.
Actually my SQL is running in cluster on different machine not on the same machine on which MBAM going to install.
And I don't how to bypass this screen so that I can configure the DB parameter for MBAM.
    Please advise.

    Hi pawar,
Before starting the Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM) installation, we must complete some prerequisites. One of the prerequisite is we must Install Microsoft SQL Server with SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS collation. And SSRS must be
installed and running during the MBAM Server installation. Configure SSRS in "native" mode and not in unconfigured or "SharePoint" mode. Then the user should have the following SQL Server Reporting Services instance rights: Create Folders and Publish Reports.
According to the error message, it seems that you haven’t installed Reporting Services in the same server. Please refer to the article to install the MBAM 2.5 Server:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn645331.aspx
Besides, since the issue related to MBAM. It is out of the support boundaries of our forum, I suggest you post the question in the following forum:

  • LOAD BALANCE (CSS) and Portal Port Number based on Instance Number

    Hi,
My doubt is about LOAD BALANCE (CSS) and Portal Port Number based on Instance Number.
I have to install 3 servers machines and 2 servers databases cluster. There will be a HIGH AVAILABILITY environment. There will be a MIGRATION and UPGRADE.
Today there are 2 servers machines in Windows NLB. Today my production Portal is 6 6.20.
Once, I did something for LABORATORY TEST. Migration (6 6.40) and Upgrade (7.0)in two other machines. But they were with Windows NLB. When I did the installation, for each server machine and during the instalation I had to give one Instance Number for each and in result there was a different Port Number for each.
But I accessed both machines throught a virtual url(dns) with a specific port number. And it works!
NOW, with a HARDWARE LOAD BALANCE _ CSS I don't know how to do.
A guy who works with it  tell us that couldn't redirect one Port Number for different port numbers. He couldn't configure the CSS like this.
My question is: Is he write? And if he is, there is a  way to give the same instance number for my 3 new Portal servers machines? Example: 5(02)00.
    Could you understand?
    I need help.
    Regards,
    cheers,
    Nivia

    Nivia,
I have used F5 for load balancing, I am sure you can do the same with CSS. Yes, you can configure a virtual IP on the load balancer with standard ports (80 or 443) and load balancing the traffic to multiple servers with different ports. You can have different ports for each instance.
