Number of users?

Hi, Need a few basic questions answered:
If I set up a BC for a client for ecommerce, there is one fee for one user and one for 5 users. How are users defined? If I have one client who has multiple staff, but only one account, what are they talking about? If I set it up as a partner, I need to allow them to log in to add or change inventory, e.g. This may be one dedicated person, or several; or one person using multiple computers.
What is the "branding" on the first paid partner step? I design the site for the client, But it has ADOBE CATALYIST written all over the site? That is not helpful for the client's Branding.

If I become a partner, and have one client, at 20% it would take me over 10 years to recover my costs.
Or you could look at it as if you are a partner you get your own full eComm plan for your own site for free for as long as you want. So you takt that $40 a month and add to that your commissions it doesn't take long before it is actually making money.
Also, you can charge your clients whatever you wish for the BC hosting. So yes, you are encouraged to actually mark up the prices as you see fit.
And then there is the server/feature maintenance ... always done for you and will always work. For example, 1and1.com hosting just updated their servers and now all sites that are not php5+ will no longer work. So someone has to upgrade all of those sites now.
There are so many reasons to choose BC .......
If I later add 2 more clients and I choose to upgrade to standard partner, would the original client be added into my 20% commission?

How to find maximum number of users we can assign for Hyperion Planning.i.e., how to find license limit in hyperion planning 11.1.2.1.
In Essbase propreties, the system is showing maximum planning users could be 65535.
what would be the number for concurrent scenario?

The number of users would be based on your license agreement with Oracle, the system is not aware of your license agreement so it is up to you to stick to it.

In the "Shared Services Stupid Trick" blogs, he shows how to find the real access to an application. The side benefit is that it is amusing to read.
In how far this is OK for the licenses is written on another page. You likely need to use the same method as Oracle does. Ask the Salesperson how to do this. (I am curious what his/her reply is).

I have a user-defined object of document type. I am trying to post a document using the General Service. However, I cannot assign manual document number. There is no handwritten property available. Is it possible to assign manual document number in user-defined objects using the DI API?

Hi,
This issue has been resolved. For the benefit of those who will be encountering this error, it was resolved by manually assigning the Handwrtten field to 'Y'. Here is the code fragment:

I have a question about the number of users of one db
instance, "possible problems" caused by too many users,
and "pros and cons" of this case.
Now, the company I work for is considering centralizing
150 db servers of 150 sites. 150 chained-stores have
their own db instance.
Here is the structure of db instance after the
centralization.
1. Centralized instance has each user per site(150
sites), for example, site001, site002, …site00n, …
site150
2. Each user has its own 250 tables, thus the db
instance become to have 150 users and 150*250 tables.
3. Each user has almost the same table schema, not
exactly. There are a little bit of differences among
the business rules of each sites.
4. the version of centralized db instance is "oracle9i".
Theoretically, it seems like there is no problem, but I
have not experienced the db instance like this, which
has "too many" users of 150 users.
In terms of every aspect such as "performance/tuning",
"system management", or "something else", I would like
to hear what could be "the pros and cons" of this
structure.
Assuming that there are possible critical problems caused
by too many users, what could be the alternative choice?

Maximum number os users in a group

What is the maximum number of users that can be in a group on OS X server 10.4? IN 10.3 I think it was 10,000
I ask, because I am integrating with an AD server, where the group we are trying to manage preferences on is 28,000>

As far as i know there is no problem for the os.

Agree with Keith, there is no MB # limit, however there are practical concerns such as DB size and how that effects recoverability as well as performance. In terms of extremes we had one major educational customer that had 35K Mailboxes in
a single database so you can utilize a ridiculous # of mailboxes in a DB if desired. IMO you are better off to keep the # of mailboxes to a reasonable level, i.e. no more than 250-500 mailboxes per DB

I am new to Hyperion Planning version 11.1.2, just wanted to clarify what is the maximum number of User defined dimensions that can be added in a planning application.
I've also learnt that the number of Alias tables is more than the previous versions. What is the maximum number of Alias tables in Planning version 11.1.2 ?

Maximum number of alias tables is 10 including the default alias table
As for custom dimensions then I wouldn't expect you to hit a maximum unless you want to design a planning application destined to fail.

Limiting the number of users/connections

We currently have a very large user community (120000)who will be accessing the portal for ESS/MSS functionality.
We would like to limit the number of users to around 20000. Any more connections should get a nice error message (rather than a standard IE no more connections or a time out message).
We can obviously throttle the number of connections via the load balancer or via max connections in unix. Is there any method in the Portal itself, that will automatically direct the users to a seperate web page in the event of pre determined number of users/connections being reached.
I have search high and low but can't find a solution.

Hi Tim,
No, there is nothing like this as a standard functionality within the portal. Similar requests are regulary asked on SDN (like: restrict the number of users logging in as you ask, restrict the number of parallel logins of one user, and things like this).
A possibility would be to implement your own login module which tries to check how many users are online. All techniques - independent if on portal or on WAS side - that try to count this have the problem that they cannot be sure who is "online" as you have no definite information if a user is online or not; one can only use more or less heuristic methods.

The number of users of any single product for a single user license at any given moment in time is one.

AFP Connections More Than Number of Users - Why?

In Server Admin > AFP, why are there more connections listed here than the number of users? For example, I have two users with accounts and both logged in currently. Server Admin > AFP shows four connections, one for the first user (with two different Connected times) and one for the second user.
Am I limited to the number of connections? I have a 10 seat version of Mac OS X server, but am not exactly sure how that applies here (if at all).

If your users are logged in to a network home directory and then subsequently "Connect to Server..." to the same server or otherwise mount a share point other than their home, that will register twice in Server Admin. Each counts against your 10 user limit if I remember correctly.
