Number on voicemail icon

How do you make the number go away from the voicemail icon. I have no voicemails but the number keeps growing every time I get a new one, but doesn't go away when I listen to it and delete it.

I had exactly the same problem on my 4s. I am on the 3 network in the UK, not sure where you are.
This only happened after I transferred my number accross from o2 a couple of days after i got the phone.
I got a new sim from 3 and the voicemail prompt went away.
3 network in the UK doesnt have visual voicemail, I guess your provider doesnt give you visual voicemail either. I was told that was the problem

  • How do you set the number that the voicemail icon corresponds to?

How can I manually enter the proper number to call for voicemail so that the voicemail icon works?
    Thanks.

Supposedly you can change it if you do the following:
Go to the keypad page of the phone app.
    Type in 5005*861234#
(Where 1234 is your voicemail number)
    Tap Call
This should save the voicemail number so when you next press the voicemail icon it will call the correct number.
However, when I tried it (my new provider's voicemail number is 111) it didn't seem to work - so not sure if it will work. The page I found with the instructions had lots of replies saying it had worked so it may do, or might be that it only worked on older versions of the OS.

  • Voicemail icon wont go away

Hi, guys.  This is my first post, although I have been lurking a while.  You guys are full of solutions!  Hopefully, you can solve mine   my BB 8350i has a voicemail icon on it.  I have no voicemails at all, and I want it gone.  I am weird about stuff, and I will continue to check the VM until the icon is gone, although I know there is no VM there.  Anyone have any solutions??  Thanks in advance!

If you have an errant voicemail waiting icon on your homescreen:
Call your voicemail and clear the message.
Call your BB from another line and leave a message. From you BB, call your voicemail and clear and delete your messages.
If the above fails, pull your battery to reset and reboot your BlackBerry.

    - Tap and hold any icon until they wiggle
    - Press the red to delete the Phone app from this list.

Please let me know that how can i do it...
    Regards..

    HI.
Check the link display number of line items in my report at the title bar
I have extract the part from the above link.
if u want to display the no of line items, as shown in SE16, u create a SET STATUS with a push button with name No of Entries on the report screen. For that status, u write the code as to display no of lines in ur table by using either
    DESCRIBE TABLE itab LINES lin.
lin gives the no of line items.
    or
    select count(*) from vbap.
    write sy-dbcnt.
U got require output, when ur pressing No of entries button, then this will display on the output screen.

  • Voicemail icon stays on all the time

My voicemail icon keeps showing there is 1 voicemail.  When I sign in to my voicemail, it is empty, but the icon and message that there is 1 voicemail stays on all the time.

    Samsung Galaxy SIII (SCH-1535), Android 4.1.3, Kernel3.0.31-1152558 (09/23/13)
    My solution was to:
    - Access the phone's Settings
    - Go to Application manager
    - Roll over to 'All' applications
    - Select the red Verizon Voicemail app
    - Clear Data
    - Back one menu to the green Verizon Phone app
    - Clear Data
    - Exit the Settings back to Home
    - Turn the phone completely off and back on again
The notification icon for me is gone. Finally.

Hi there, just got my new iPhone 4s & the red dot is always on my voicemail icon on the bottom of my homepage. So I check & I have no messages, yet it never goes away. Any ideas, or is it just a glitch in my new phone?

Go into setings and see if you have Celular Data turned on.
Settings / General / Cellular - Then turn Cellular Data  to ON

You don't have push enabled.   Go into your settings and enable it, however many people will want to advise you that doing so will reduce your battery life.

  • Number for voicemail is locked/unchangeable -- please fix in future version

The speeddial button in the lower right corner of the Phone App (not sure if it's call an app ...) that's suppose to call the number of the carriers voicemail (not visual!) can not be changed ...!
That's a problem as I've switch to a new carrier (with new SIM). Pressing the button dials the previous carriers voicemail. Have the problem with both iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3.1.
I've tried the storing the number with the 5005*86[number for voicemail]# - and sure it's stored as seen with the #500586# but the button still dials the old carriers voicemail!
The carrier says it's locked by Apple, that it's unchangeable. That *****
Apple, if this is true please fix this in future version of iOS Or please tell me how I can store the new, correct number for voicemail (no, not in addressbook - on the speeddial button).

Hi chillout and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
Have you confirmed with your wireless provider that you can voice mail configured on your account? I would also recommend verifing the voice mail settings are configured correctly. From the phone application, swipe down from the top then select Phone Settings>Voice Mail.
    Thanks.

  • Strange Voicemail Icons - Displaying 1+ and Voicemail (-1)

I don't know why, but my iPhone recently started displaying a 1+ icon on the phone homescreen, and when I go to my voicemail page, I have the same 1+ icon and up at the top where it reads voicemail, it displays "Voicemail (-1)"
Has anyone seen this problem before? I posted screenshots here:
    http://i.nconspicuo.us/2007/11/15/strange-iphone-icons-phone-1-voicemail-1-voice mail-1/
Let me know if there is an easy solution to resolve this.

reseting the phone is rebooting it
hold the home and sleep/wake button ( the one on top) down at the same time
keep holding them down when the slide to power off appears - after a few seconds more the screen will go blank you can let go - the apple logo will appear and the phone will reboot

  • Incorrect number in dock icon

This is a recurring problem: the red dot number in the dock displays a different number of emails in MAIL compared to when I check MAIL online through my .mac account.
Sometimes it is junk mail, but sometimes it is regular mail. What I mean by "regular mail" is that I will receive an email (and a red dot) from William in the morning. Then I will have no red dot all day. Then William calls to say did I get his email which I did not. Then I go online to check MAIL through my .mac account, and LO! there is William's email as well as a few others that did not "go through" to my desktop MAIL.
I've performed the steps (months ago and many times since then) suggested in this older posting:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=721034&#721034
It worked for a few days, but the problem persisted.
And have also rebuilt regularly as well as cleaned up my mailbox so that mail isn't overstuffed.
Is anyone else having this problem or can anyone help me to understand why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Genie

Just clicking on the icon in the Dock causes Mail to update the unread count? And Mail keeps ignoring the new messages even after selecting the mailbox and doing Mailbox > Rebuild?
Let's check first whether there could be a rule that has a bearing on this:
    1. Quit Mail.
    2. In the Finder, go to HOME/Library/Mail/.
    3. Locate MessageRules.plist and move it to the Desktop. If there is a file called MessageRules.plist.backup, move it to the Desktop too. You may also see MessageSorting.plist files there; this is where Mail 1.x stored the rules, and they are no longer used by Mail 2.0, so just move them to the Trash if you see them.
    4. Launch Mail. Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk filtering again, and configure it however you wish. You may want to shut down the Internet connection before launching Mail to prevent it from downloading anything until the junk mail filter has been enabled.
If the problem persists after doing this, then you know the rules have no bearing on this, and you may move the files on the Desktop back to the HOME/Library/Mail/ folder, overwriting any files Mail may have created anew there (quit Mail first).
