Number Range Assignment for personel numbers

In my all three clients i am getting this strange behaviour that my system is skipping the perners ,even though my number range is internal and i have maintained all necessay entries , i find that my system is skipping perners randomly sometime q is skipped and sometimes even 90+ perners are deleted.
Please can anyone help me in this regard.?

First try to segregate your number ranges into three companies then maintain it atleast you identification of different personnels.
then if your doing batch loading of personnel thru BDC or lsMW the usual problem is with master data so it skip number ranges.
try to reset number ranges but before that delete your entries to pu00 tcode.
let see if this works..
Thanks

  • OM- Number range assignment for Plan Version

    Hi all,
What should be the entry in table T77S0 -
NUMRG COMP                 Number assignment for all plan versions.
Whether it should be set to 'X' or Blank?
I read the documentation but could not undestand properly.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Suppose if the value of  NUMRG  COMP is space  then assigned number range will be used across all plan version's for different  OM objectts.
And if the value of NUMRG COMP  is 'x', Then each plan version will have different set of object range.
This has to be specified in OONR transaction.
    Thank & Best Regards,

    HI
    see the SAP document .....
Specify Document Type for Posting of Depreciation
In this processing step you determine the document type for each company code for posting depreciation.
    Standard settings
SAP supplies document type AF for depreciation posting.
    Requirements
You must have defined the document number ranges.
    Activities
    1. Check the standard document type AF. If needed, define your own document type.
    2. Specify the document type for depreciation posting. The document type you select must meet the following conditions:
It must be a document type for batch input.
It must be defined with external document number assignment

  • Number Range Object for a Infoobject

    Hi Gurus,
Can anyone explain me what is the significance of Number Range Object for a perticular infoobject and what do you mean by Buffering of those Number Range Object...
    Your help will be appreciated..
    Thanks a lot in advance..
    Thanks,
    Shalaka.

    Hai Shalaka,
The number range buffer is used to increase performance when assigning
numbers. Instead of fetching the numbers each time from the database,
a single access to the buffer suffices. Only when the buffer is empty,
is it refilled from the database (table NRIV).
Use of the buffer has the following benefits:
    · Accessing the main memory is a thousand times quicker than accessing
the database. Speed is particularly important for applications that
    assign numbers frequently.
    · Database accesses are always subject to the database transaction
mechanism. Once an application has assigned a number for one user, a
second user cannot assign a number until the first user has executed a
commit operation on the database. The application blocks further
assignment, and the second user has to wait, until the commit has been
    executed.
    · The number range buffer can also prevent deadlock situations, which
may arise from assigning different numbers in a different order.
Since the SAP kernel accesses table NRIV directly for the number range
buffer, the structure of the table must never be changed. This also
    applies when adding new fields.
We can set number range buffering inSNRO t code.
Loading Master data - The number ranges buffer for the SID's resides
on the application server and reduces DB server accesses. If you set
e.g. the number range buffer for one InfoObject to 500, the system
will keep 500 sequential numbers in the memory and need not access the
    database.
#####>>> whenever master data loading is done system creates SIDs, &
to create SIDs system look into a specific table, check the latest
number & generate the next no in the series, so to check this latest
no for every time ( every record) system needs to go back to database
table & generate the next no in series. when I do the buffering I
provide the whole series to system at application level so it need not
to go back to table to check the latest no & generate the next one. It
just picks up the next in available on application server.
    >>>####
    Please refer - SAPnote 130253
Loading Transcation data - The number range buffer for the dimension
ID's resides on the application server and reduces DB server accesses.
For example, if you set the number range buffer for one dimension to
500, the system will keep 500 sequential numbers in memory and need
    not access the database
If you load a significant volume of transaction data (e.g., initial
load), increase the number range buffer. If possible, reset it to its
original state after the load in order to minimize unnecessary memory
    allocation
    Hope this information helps u....

  • Excise invoice number range assignment

    Dear SAP Gurus,
This is with regarding Excise invoice number range assignment (J_1IINTNUM, J_1IRG23A1, J_1IRG23A2)
For the financial period April 2011 to March 2012, following number ranges exist already in SNUM.
    01---- 2011--5007393-5999999
    01---20125016369-5999999
Till 31st March 2012, excise number ranges doesn't change. But for the next financial period from April 2012 to March 2013 there would be a new set of number ranges.
At the time of April 2012, I will have to change the number ranges as per the new financial period. In such a case, I would be unable to change the number ranges for the financial year 2012, as the system would throw an error as "Lower limit can only be changed during initial entry"
How to change the number range for the financial period April 2012 to March 2013, in this above scenario?
Also can you please guide me on how to map the number ranges so that from April 2012, the system would start taking the new number ranges instead from January?Thanking you in advance..
    Regards,
    Vijay N

    Dear Mr. Lakshmipathi,
    Thank you for your reply.
Currently, system consider the 1st one till December 2011 and for the upcoming months from Jan 2012 to March 2012, it takes second one. This is my problem here.
    01---- 2011--5007393-5999999
    01---20125016369-5999999
I want the system to consider the 1st one for the period from April 2011 to March 2012 and 2nd one for the period from April 2012 to March 2013. Right now, it takes for the period Jan 2011 to December 2011. Since Jan 2012 has been initiated, system is throwing an error stating to create number ranges for 2012, hence I have created the second one.
    Thanking you in advance.

  • Error in number range assignment

    Hi,
When I try creating a process order, I get the below error : ERROR OCCURED IN NUMBER ASSIGNMENT FOR OBJECT RESB. There is no problem with the number range, i.e. number ranges are assigned to the order type. Any solution?
    Regards,
    Sakthy

    Hi,
check table NRIV object RESB (which number range assigned, whats the highest number assigned) and compare it with table RESB. If the highest number in RESB is higher than the status in NRIV you know the reason for the message.

  • Picking request Number Range Assignment

I am looking for picking request number range assignment?
In Logistics execution we can define the number range, for pciking request but where to assign it?
I request all the SD Guru's to have a look. I find it pretty challenging.
Please reply to the subject asked.
    Best Regards,
    Bashir
Edited by: Bashir on Jan 12, 2010 11:18 AM

    Dear Friend
I feel the picking request number is automatically generated by the system ( If it is not a transfer order that is not warehouse managed )
The logic is system takes the picking date
Today if we pick that is 12.01.2010
The picking number is 20100112 (yyyy/mm/dd)
No matter how many delivery documents we create today the picking number will be 20100112
If the picking date is 11.01.2010 then
    picking number is 20100111 (yyyy/mm/dd)
If the picking date is 21.12.2009 then
    picking number is 20091221 (yyyy/mm/dd)

  • Incorrect Number Range assignment

    Hi all
I"ve created Credit memo for return order & i"m releasing it to accounting but it"s giving following error message:
Incorrect doc.no.: 313000118. Select document number between 0316000000 and 0318999999
    Message no. F5151
    Diagnosis
The document number you specified, "&v1", is not in the appropriate number range. The number range is dependent on the document type.
The exception to this rule is formed by recurring entry documents, which must use number range 'X1' and sample documents, which must use number range 'X2'.
Possible reasons for this error message are:
You have entered an incorrect document number.
An incorrect document number was transferred to this application during an update from another application (e.g. CO).
    System Response
The document cannot be processed any further.
    Procedure
Enter a document number that is within the specified number interval.
If this error was caused by an update from another application, check the type of number assignment in that application (external or internal?) as well as the document number transferred.
    Example
In the CO settlement profile, a document type with external number assignment was entered, whereas an internal document number was transferred.
PS: I"VE MAINTAINED NUMBER RANGE FOR INVOICE TYPES AS SPECIFIED IN BBP FOR CREDIT MEMO.
CREDIT MEMO FOR RETURN ORDER IS REFERENCED WITH SALES ORDER NOT DELIVARY.
SUGGESTED NUMBER RANGE IN THE ERROR IS FOR DELIVARIES IN SPECIFIED GUIDELINES IN BLUEPRINT

    Dear Mandhar,
Please check following settings at your end and update:
    T. Code: VOFA
Select your Billing type and double-click. Now, check
Field: Document Type (TVFK-BLART). Check for the entry maintained (If nothing specified, RV is the default).
    Then,
    T. Code: OBA7
and check the Number Range ID for the document type determined above. Note this number range ID.
    Finally, go to
    T. Code: FBN1
Key-in your company code and maintain the Interval for the number range ID. (If already maintained, check whether Box: Ext. is marked as checked or not? If yes, remove the check and save and try to release the Invoice for Accounting).
    Hope, this may help you.
    Best Regards,
    Amit
    Hope that helps, points welcome

  • Getting number range interval for document type

    Hi All,
My requirement is to display number range interval for any docnument type in SD.
I will elaborate my req. clearly.
We can see document type of SD in TVAK table. If we give document type for ex. ZOR the we will see number range internal assignment (NUMKI). The complete number range we can search through transaction VN01 through NUMKI value. But I didnt get any table to relate NUMKI or Sales document type and internal number range.
Please help me in searching database table to relate Document type or NUMKI and internal number range.
    Regards,
    Suresh.

    Relation is as below:
TVAK --> AUART = "Sales Document Type"
    NRIV --> OBJECT = "RV_BELEG" and
             NRRANGENR = TVAK-NUMKI
Alternatively you can use FM: NUMBER_GET_INFO with the Number Range Number and Object to extract Intervals.

    Hi Kedar,
I got the same issue which you mentioned and i ran the program to activate the master data object and it went fine in Quality system. But the problem here is iam unable to see the attribute data in the master data info object.
For example i added ZCNTYCODE nav. attribute to 0VENDOR and moved to quality and i got the activation problem issue for 0VENDOR and i ran the program which you mentioned in Quality and the activation went fine.
When i loaded the data for 0VENDOR iam not able to see the ZCNTYCODE data in Vendor master data P table. And iam able to see the master data in the table which we get from source LFA1 and in RSA3 and also in the PSA. Can you or anyone faced this type of issue.

  • Number range 01 for object BANF is nearly exhausted.

Hi ! When we do total planning run in the background we got the message "Number range 01 for object BANF is nearly exhausted.". Our system is configured to create a new purchase requisition for every requirement. I can found that we have reached 98% of our PR number range and the warning message (through SNRO) is set at 2%. As a temporary solution, before I assisgn a new number range to PR, I reduced the percantage for warning message to 1% so that we can get few more days before the number range is changed. But, we continue to get the same error and no purchase requisition is created. Kindly help and suggest.
    regards,
    Satya

this is probably caused by the buffering. Buffering of numbers is made to increase performance. the Program reads the number range just once to get 10 numbers (and the percentage for the warning message as well, otherwise it would not make sense to use buffers if SAP has to access the number range anytime to check if it is nearly exhausted )
