Number range for Batch - urgent help

Dear Champs,
We need to have internal number range for batches for one plant and external number range for other plant. How & Where to assign number range for plants ?
Kindly suggest
Thanks
Rajesh

Mr Rajesh
You can maintain num range internal and external independently with out any customization or development if you run batch management PLANT level.
Where plant level batch mgmt., the batch number is only known in the plant in which it was created if the stock is transferred to another plant, the batch is unknown in the recipient plant and the system does not adopt any data
And you can define independent number range for each plant.
If planned at client level need to customize using the userexits avaliable.

  • Number range for production order is running out! Please help..

    Hi,
Our number range for the production order is running out, can anyone please guide me how to extend or create a new number range?
I try to go to CO82, there is no where for me to add a new range. Also, I can't extend continuosly the number range cause the next number already assigned to another order type.
    What can I do?
    Kindly please help. Thank you.

    Hi,
All i would suggest before fixing on the number of digits, look at your past pattern. Estimate the number of orders which you plan to create for a given order type, based on that select the number of digits.
Now if you wish to increase from 7 to 8, its fine, it will not be an issue, once you define the number range, system will throw a message if it overlaps, so you can be rest assured about that. Assign the new number range to the order type & standard SAP will take care of the rest. However if you have any custom reports / developments, just ensure that there is no hard coding to read only 7 digits. Apart from that it should work fine.
Hope the above resolves the issue.
    Regards,
    Vivek
    Added
Please do not amend the existing number range or do any modifications to the same, it will lead to inconsistencies. So create a new range & assign the same to the order types

  • Number range for billing document..its urgent!!

    Hi Friends!!
can anybody tell me how to determine number range for billing document based on company code & tax departure country if required??
    Amit...

    Hi,
Look at object RV_BELEG in t.code snro. It  is the number range object for SD Documents. Click on Number Ranges and then Intervals to view the different number ranges and associated intervals.
Now look at t.code 0vlk, which is Define Delivery Type. If you double-click on a delivery type BV it goes to more detail. See the field: "NR int. assgt.". This is the number range for delivery type BV.
This number range will be used in any company code or tax departure country that this delivery type is used in.

  • Number Range for Purchase order

    Hi MM Masters,
Kindly give the solution in SAP for the following scenario.
The organisation consists of 5 company codes and 16 plants.
How to maintain the Number ranges for the Purchase orders Plantwise?
This requirement is for easy identification of Purchase orders on the basis of plants.
    Like for Plant 1 - 4500000000 to 4500050000
               Plant 2 -  4500050001 to 4500060000
               Plant 3 -  4500060001 to 4500070000 etc.
Kindly guide me. This requirement is urgent.
    Regards
    Yoganarasimha

    Hello Raj,
You need to define number range as usual, but when using the user exit at that time you need to give logic as per your requirement. Purchase order will allow to create two different line item for two different plant under the same company code so you need to consider that also (if using company specific or multi plant assignment for one purchase organization).
Work with developer for coding and expain him/her the logic, I am not technical expert so regret for not helping on coding.
    Hope this helps.

  • Number range for Folio No in RG23D (Depot Sales)

    Dear Friends,
I have created an excise group for a plant with Depot Sales .I want to mantain the number ranges for the object J_1IRG23D (Folio Numbers) . I have ticked my plant as as Depot plant and also ticked the other options available in "Mantain Excise Groups" . Also ticked Folio Nos.
My problem is that when I go to mantain the number ranges for the object J_1IRG23D (Folio Numbers)in J1I9, system does not shows me the Excise Group which I have made . It shows me other excise group already available for other plant .
Again in my company there is a manufacturing plant also avaialble . Now they want to go for a Depot Plant only for Trading . I would also like to know wheather the system allows for 2 excise groups for the same Company Code. Or what could be the possible reason .
Please help me . It is very urgent .
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj
One Company Code can have any number of excise groups.  If I am correct, actually you wanted to ask whether one plant can have multiple excise groups.  If so, no it is not possible but one plant can have multiple series groups.
Meanwhile, with regard to number range, go to <b>SNRO (or) SNUM</b> and select the object <b>J_1IRG23D</b> and select <b>NUMBER RANGE</b> on top. It will ask for "<b>Series Group</b>". Give the respective plant's series group and check once again whether you have assigned correctly.

Appendix D: How to do Automatic Packing?
Appendix E: How to do Goods Movement for Handling Unit Material?
Appendix F: How to Unpack the Handling Unit Material?
A handling unit is a physical unit that consists of the packaging materials (load carrier / packaging material) and the goods contained therein. A handling unit is always a combination of materials and packaging materials. All the information contained in the material items, such as batches and serial numbers, is always available by way of the handling units.
Handling units can be nested, meaning that you can also create new handling units from several handling units as often as you like.
Handling units have unique, scannable identification numbers that can be formed according to standards such as EAN 128 or SSCC.
    Figure 1: Handling unit example
    Structure
The handling unit object contains the following attributes:
    •     Identification number
    •     Dimensions
    •     Weight
    •     Volume
    •     Status
    •     Materials and quantities
    •     Packaging materials
    •     Packing instructions
A handling unit consists of a handling unit header and handling unit items. For identification purposes, it is given a unique number.
    Handling unit header
The header data of a handling unit is divided in the following way:
    •     Weight/Volume/Dimensions
    •     General data
    •     Means-of-transport data
    •     Additional data
    •     Output determination procedure
For more information about each of these detailed points, see Editing detailed data for handling units.
    Status
The handling unit is linked to general status management. In this way, the various physical states (planned or implemented) and other attributes (weighed, loaded, blocked or posted goods issue) of handling units can be documented.
You can use the HU_ST_INIT user parameter when you create handling units without object reference to set which initial status the handling unit is to have when it is created.
If you want to implement a status of your own, you can define a user-specific procedure for the packaging material type (see also Define Packaging Material Types).
    Handling unit item
The items of a handling unit can consist of material items, packaging materials or other handling units that appear in an overview. For more information about this overview, see the Contents section of Editing detailed data for handling units.
To access the item data of an individual handling unit, select the handling unit concerned and choose Goto &#61614; Detailed HU data &#61614; Contents.
    Integration
Handling units can be used in all processes within the supply chain.

  • How to change number range for document type ?

    Dear All
    Experts
How to change the number range for document types for entry view? I am trying to change the number range for all document type as per defined ranges in FBN1, but at the time of saving document type and number range the system is throwing error message as
Doc. type C1: Number range 07 is used for ledger L6 with doc. type AE
    Message no. FAGL_LEDGER_CUST093
I have defined a leading ledger in system too with these settings
    1)     Define ledger for accounting.
    2)     Defining currencies for it.
    3)     Defining ledger group for the same.
    4)     Defining accounting principles
    5)     Assignment of principles to leading ledger.
Are there any extra settings required for leading ledger settings?
I have some doubts those are :-
How document types defined at ledger level?
How to define them at leading ledger level?  (Like my case)
Focus on this will be appreciable.
    Regards,
    Sharvari Joshi.

    hi ,
The document numbers in the leading ledger and the non leading ledgers should be in sync, they should not have any differences, so incase you are trying to change the number range for C1, the  number range 07 is already been assigned to doc type AE. i guess you have cant use 07 for C1. may be you can try out with an other number range. check this and let me know if you are able to do this.
    coming to
1.How document types defined at ledger level?
2.How to define them at leading ledger level? (Like my case)
Ans 1. please try defining document types for entry view in a ledger.
path : SPRO- financial accounting new -financial accounting global settings new - document -document types -define document types for entry view in ledger.
upon prompt enter the ledger and go ahead creating the number ranges for the document types.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creation of Unique Number Ranges for Organizational Objects

    Hi Gurus,
As per our client's requirements, We need to create unique number ranges for Organizational Objects such as O,S,P to distinguish based on the Object ID. Could you please help me out to create the same.
And also to create unique number ranges for Personnel Development Objects such as QK & Q.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Vinoth Kumar.R

    Hi,
To maintain object specific number ranges, go to customising node Personnel management --> Org. management --> Basic settings --> Number range manitenance --> Maintain Number ranges
Here there will already be a default entry as $$$$.
To create different range for object say O you can use the following options:
Create entry as $$O - number range applicable to all Org units across all plan versions.
Create entry as 01O - number range applicable to all Org units under plan version "01"
Then under Interval maintenance create the desired number ranges under IN for internal or EX for external (check the external tick box for external number ranges)
In the similar manner you can create the number ranges for objects C, S , Q & QK.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Regards,
    Shreyasi.
