Number range level in NRIV TABLE

Dear Experts,
In the NRIV table for particular object ;is the ' number range status' is same as 'number range level'.
I want to find the number range level for particular info object.
Thanks
Nidhi

Hi Saurabh,
There is a workaround which I am not aware of completely.
A custom Abap program can be written which can take the required sales documents through a flat file load interface which will not require the use of manual input;s for all the documents.
I used this program long time back. It was created by one of our ABAP's teammate.
It will take long time to run but reduces the manual effort.
You can check with your ABAP team if they can create something like that.

  • Number range buffering for dimension tables (DIM IDs) and InfoObjects (SIDs

    Hi BW Experts,
How to check whether this number range buffering for dimension tables (DIM IDs) and InfoObjects (SIDs) is Active or not ??
can you please provide me this technical information where to go and check in the system ?
    Thanks in Advance.

The Early Watch report lists these because of the large number of rows in the MD/Dim tables.  Keep in mind though, that Number Range buffering will really only help if you continue to generate a large volume of new SIDs or Dim IDs with ongoing loads, e.g.
If your transactions being loaded to a cube result in several thousand new rows being added a Dim table, then it makes sense to turn on Number Range buffering for that Dim ID.  But if the transaction volume is only cause a few hundred DIM IDs to be added, buffering will not really get you anything.

  • Number range object missing NRIV and cant activate IOBJ during import

    Hi,
We have a number object RS_OBJNUMG in BW used for many infoobjects.  However object doesnt exists in table NRIV and import for infoobjects are failing with error:
Interval 01 of number range RS_OBJNUMG is missing
    message R7453
I thought that as when infoobjects are created they get automatically assigned to number range....
    Can somebody help?
    thanks

    hi,
    check if the similar problem
Error calling number range object 0MATERIAL for dimension D4 ( )
try transaction rsrv ? >> all elementry tests >> master data >> compare number range and maximum sid >> choose the infoobjects>> execute. press button 'correct error' if any error exists.
also try >> all combined tests >> master data >> check master data for characteristics.
    hope this helps

  • How to return number range from sql (dual table)

    in sql plus
I need to display values (numbers)1 to 52 from dual
    eg,
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    etc...
Is this possible, can you display a range of numbers from an sql statment without creating atble holding the required numbers.
I am trying to display 1 to 52 (week numbers) but I need to do this from the dual table.
Creating a table with values 1 to 52 looks like a waste?
    Thanks in anticipation.

If you're running on 9i you may find the solution I posted Re: List all days of a month in single SQL to be useful. Otherwise the general discussion will provide some illumination.

  • No Free document number range possibility in Setup table filling of Sales roder

    Hello
If we have many documents to be reloaded in BW through setup table especially for Sales order / delivery /  Invoices datasources, then there is not facility to load selectively by document numbers.  One has to specify only ranges ? I dont have ranges , I have scattered document numbers.
Is there any alternate solution for this ?

  • Creation of number range in NRIV table

    Dear All,
User is asking to maintain the number range in the NRIV table with object name RV_BELEG. As shown below:-
Object name  Subobj.val    No    Year    From no.        To number    No. status     Ext
    RV_BELEG                           D1                0095000000    0095999999
Here When I go and maintain the number range in FBN1 transaction code it is asking fiscal year required. But the user is not mentioned any year. However I have given the year 2011 and saved it.
When I go and check in the NRIV table, It has updated with Object name is RF_BELEG. As shown below.
    RF_BELEG     5291     D1     2011     0095000000     0095999999
Could any body help me how to maintain the number range in this table with the Object name RV_BELEG. Is there any T.Code to maintain these number ranges with out specifiying the year.
If I maintain this number range  in the table NRIV directly, is there any effect in SAP?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mr.Rao

    hi
RV_BELEG is Number ranges for SD documents so you have to mainatin the same in SD module through SPRO
but if you mainatin from NRIV also it will not affect the sap
or you can you t code SNRO and mainatin the number range for that object directly.
    Thanks

  • Number range buffer - can this really be? SAP BW 710

    Hello everone,
    hope you are fine!
I am looking for some real light into the number range buffering
I have extracted 2 Million data from DS 0PCA_EC_3 into a standard DSO which took inititally 13 h. (14 h in Production)
Now I figured the InfoObjects with high number range levels and enabled the buffering there.
The result is - which I can not believe at the moment and thats why I am looking first for answers before I disable the number range buffering and ran again into 13 h load - that the load took plus activation 45 MINUTES!!!!!
    The Questions are:
    1. Can this be possible that the performance increase so dramatically due to number range buffering?
I have not checked the SM66 for selection to table NRIV at the initial run
    2. If this is realy the reason do I have to transport the settings I did in SNRO?
    3. What if I decide not to use the number range buffering after some loads, is it easy to disable again without any data issue?
Thanks really for your input these are much appreciated.
    bye Ömer

    Hi everyone,
is there no one who can at least share his/her experience with number range buffering?
thanks for any input on this.

  • Number Range Buffering - SNRO

    Hi Gurus,
Can any one Plzz tell me why do v go for Number Range Buffering?
It's use?? And the procedure to do it? I searched it in forum but didn't got what I needed.
    Cheers,
    Sultan.

    hi,
Tip on Number Range Buffering :
When you load large quantities of data in an InfoCube, the number range buffer should be increased for the dimensions that are likely to have a high number of data sets.
To do this, proceed as follows. Use function module RSD_CUBE_GET to find the object name of the dimension that is likely to have a high number of data sets.
    Function module settings:
    I_INFOCUBE = 'Infocube name'
    I_OBJVERS = 'A'
    I_BYPASS_BUFFER = 'X'
The numbers for the dimensions are then contained in table 'E_T_DIME', column 'NUMBRANR'. If you enter 'BID' before this number, you get the relevant number range (for example BID0000053).
You can use Transaction SNRO (-> ABAP/4 Workbench -> Development --> Other tools --> Number ranges) to display all number ranges for the dimensions used in BW if you enter BID*. You can use the object name that was determined beforehand to find the required number range.
By double-clicking this line, you get to the number range maintenance. Choose Edit -> Set-up buffering -> Main memory, to define the 'No. of numbers in buffer'.
Set this value to 500, for example. The size depends on the expected data quantity in the initial and in future (delta) uploads.
!! Never buffer the number range for the package dimension !!
Also heres the content of the note : 857998
The number range buffering for DIMid's and SID's
    a) the DIM table increases by a large number of data records for each request
    b) the size of the DIM table levels out but at the beginning you expected or observed a significant increase
    c) there are many accesses to the NRIV table with reference to the number range object of the dimension table
    d) the InfoCube or the dimension table is deleted regularly and, therefore, the DIM table increases significantly in each period.
The number range object for the SIDs of an InfoObject should be buffered if
    e) you regularly add many new data records to the SID table
    f) you know before the initial load that there is a lot of master data to be loaded for this InfoObject
    g) you delete the master data periodically and you always load many new records (this should be an exception).
How do you find number range objects of the dimensions and SIDs whose number range should be buffered?
    h) You know in advance that the dimension table or the SID table will increase significantly per request.
    i) You observe accesses to the NRIV table and you can determine the number range object directly in the current SQL statement.
    j) A high number range level may indicate that there is a significant increase for these two BW objects (valid only for BID* and BIM* objects)
                           SE16 'NRIV'
-> OBJECT = 'BID' or OBJECT = 'BIM'
displays all number range objects with number level (NRLEVEL).
Export this output to an Excel document and sort NRLEVEL in descending order. Most candidates usually have a high number range level.
You can determine the corresponding dimension tables by using the table RSDDIMELOC. You can find the InfoObject for SIDs using the table RSDCHABASLOC (the field NUMBRANR contains the last seven digits of the number range object). The procedure is even more effective if you read the table NRIV periodically and you determine the changes using NRLEVEL.
    k) Another indicator is if a dimension table or an SID table significantly increases on a regular basis.
How many instances should be buffered?
In the past, a value between 100 and 500 has proved to be efficient. If there is still a high load for these number range objects on the table NRIV, you can increase the value.
    Caution:
    - Never buffer the number range object of the package dimension table of a data target.
    - In addition, never buffer the number range object of the request ID (RSDCHABASLOC-CHABASNM = 0REQUID), generally BIM9999998.
    - Ensure that not all dialog processes are occupied permanently
    hope this helps

  • Number Ranges inBI

    Hi,
Can anyone please tell me what are number ranges and what is there use in BI, how we create it, What are there benefits.
    Thanks

The SAP BW system uses number ranges when loading master data or transactional data into BW. The system uses a unique master data number ID for each loaded record. Each new record reads the number range table NRIV to determine the next number in sequence. This ensures that there are no duplicate numbers. Not using unique number range values could compromise the data’s integrity.
Number ranges can cause significant overhead when loading large volumes of data as the system repeatedly accesses the number range table NRIV to establish a unique number range. If a large volume of data is waiting for these values, then the data loading process becomes slow.
One way to alleviate this bottleneck is for the system to take a packet of number range values from the table and place them into memory. This way, the system can read many of the new records from memory rather than repeatedly accessing and reading table NRIV. This speeds the data load.

  • Purchase order number ranges plant wise

    Hi ,
Requirement is , want to have purchase order number  plant wise. I know that we can have different number ranges for different document types in standard SAP. But how to achieve different number ranges for purchase order plant  wise.?
Is there any user exits available for this?
    regards,
    abi

    Hi,
it is possible through a BADI to get the separate number ranges for plant wise PR/PO,
but u need to maintain a customised table with number ranges and plants,
whenever the user try to save a PO/PR the syatem will pick the number range from the customised table,
    that BADI is ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST,
it is very useful if any client has number of plants like 30 or 40 plants,
and it is easy track the PO from where it has raised.

  • Plant sepcific number ranges

    Hi all,
My client is having 3 plants under one company code at different locations. He is requesting for different number ranges for all FI postings  to plant specific number ranges.
Is is possible to define different number ranges for each plant wise i

    Hello,
This seems to be a requirement for indian taxataion. we had the same scenario and the solution which we followed
is created a user exit which will pick up diffferent number ranges from a Z table which had a combination of company code plant & FI number group. It is activated both from Miro invoicing side and also during FI posting.. For FI postings you have to have a validation to make sure the plant number is inserted in any available fields like (ref key1 or ref key2 which we used ). It reallly involves much of integration between MM & FI.
    Hope this helps

We have fatch a conslodate list of all object in excel sheet.
    OBJECT   SUBOBJECT  RANGE_NR       YEAR          LEVEL
Conflict to be solved - Either "Intervall-Diff.", or "NR Level Diff.", or "Ext/Int-Diff." or more than one of the three
Number range are conflicting based on
    1. Differences between number range intervals
    2. Differences between number ranges levels
    3. Differences between number ranges types (internal/external)
    4.  Number range overlaps are marked
