Number range Object for Production order Number range profile.

Hi ffriends,
Can anybody tell me how to maintain the <b>Serial Number Range</b> for production order serial no.
I working on automatic serail no generation for production order.I have one serial no range profile which I am assigning to material in material master  but I don't know the number range object for that profile.
Or can anybody tell me how we attach serail no profile to a serial no range object.?
       Please it is urgently required..........
Regards,
Rajesh Akarte

hi rajesh
in the serial number profile there are certain business procedures which will create the serial no ,kindly check whether for your procedure you have assinged whether serial number to be arranged or not
slecect the serial number profile in sutomization field( which you have specified in Material master) and select the serialization procedure and check whether the <b>PPRL</b> procedure is assinged, also check the serial no usage assigned
for detailed process have a look here

  • XL Reporter - Prompting for Production Order Number - How to?

I have watched the FlashBook's for creating reprots, and following the directions. When I go to create a new Paramater, the Document Number is not an available Dimension.
Can anyone point me in the right direction in setting up an XL Reporter report that prompts for Production Order number / Document ID? How do you create prompts for record ID's?
    Thanks.

Thank you for the help. This gets me closer then I was before.
To test, I am list listing the Production Order Document Number and the Due Date. Looking to list only the Production Order and Due Date from a prompted Production Order.
I tried both Cell Expansion and Row Expansion using the parameter you suggested. Cell Expansion returns all documents, but with a document number of 0. Row expansion gives me an error.
I have captured all the screen shots and posted them to the web. If you wouldnt mind taking a quick look. I am sure something I am doing is off, but feel I am close with your help.

  • Number range object interval - Production Orders

    Dear All,
In number range object AUFTRAG, no. of numbers in buffer mentioned as 20,
To my knowledge, because there is buffer defined as 20, system may skip some numbers in production order number range amounting to 20.
But today I have observed that, in the system numbers skipped is not 20 but less than 20, i.e 17.
Can anyone tell me why is this happened?

  • Add new authorization object for production order creation/change/display

As mentioned. I definded new authorization object using "Production scheduler" (Field Name : FEVOR) by SU20. then use SU21/SU24 to add authorization object for some transaction code such as COOIS. use PFCG maintain new role and assign a  fixed production scheduler value and assgin transaction code COOIS to this role. create new user ID and assign to that role.
logon system with new ID, run COOIS. but system don't check new authorization object(production scheduler). who can tell me why it is and how i can add new new authorization object for standard transaction code?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
there is an icon of generation.  just click there in PFCG and also in su21.
then add this object in new role.
Assign this role to user id
while assigning the role also there is a generation.
Please take a help of BASIS consultant also as this is entire a BASIS process.

  • Plantwise separate number range for Production order

    Hello SAP Expert,

Please give way to do this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
As per standard SAP not possible because Order types are maintain at Client level and not at Plant Level, but as Sukender said use Different Order Types for different Plants. But I guess user will face one problem often during Manual Production / Process Order Creation , and that is if they select wrong order type then face a problem like no Order type dependent Parameter set for required Plant.

  • External Number range for Production Order with additional logic

    Hi gurus,
    My requirement is -
I have two products - for my Local and Export
I have made two Order type for local and Export - say LOCL and EXPO
My LOCL order no will start with L and EXPO with E
I can do this with external number range set for each order type..
    Now my question is -
My client wants Production Order in this fashion -
    L20111------
    L is local, 2011 is year, 1 is jan (1 to 9 - Jan to Sept, A - Oct, B- Nov, C - Dec) followed by a serial number
How can we address this in SAP?
    Any clues?
Thanks for your suggestion in advance.

  • Production Order Number Range - Not Continuous

    Hi Team,
I have assigned the internal number range for my order type in CO82. When the system assigns the internal number (my production order is 10 digit number) to my production order, the number is getting assigned continuously. For example, if the last created production order number is 2481000001 , i am expecting the next number as 2481000002. But system is creating some number like 2481000023. In-between many numbers are missed. Why?
Production Order Number Range Assigned: From: 2481000000, To:2481999999 (Internal Number range)
    Thanks

    Hi Caetano,
As described in the note 62077, i can do the following setting.
    1.  Deactivate buffering: Choose 'Edit' -> 'Set Up Buffering' -> 'No Buffering'.
    2. If you want to change the buffer size only, enter the corresponding value in the field 'No. of numbers in buffer'.
    Case 1:
If i activate the option "No Buffering" for object "auftrag", will it have any negative impact like performance of the system?
Should i need to activate the option "No Buffering" for object "auftrag" before creating the production order?
    Case 2:
I do not want to deactivate the buffering. But i will set the 'No. of numbers in buffer'as ONE (1). I think with this settings, the numbers will be always continuous. Will it have any system performance impact?
    Thanks

  • Production Order Number Ranges Assignment

    Hello
    We are facing one problem
We have internal number range for  production order.
On creation System took few orders in Sequence and few it skipts and then it goes back to seq again
    1st it created 1-9
then it created from 21 -26
    then it created 10-15
    again from 27
Request you to let me kno how we can get it sequential.
In SNUM buffer is maintained as 20.
    Thanks N Regards,
    Hitendra Dwivedi

    Dear
This is because of user buffer, which system will allocate the number from numer range to each user so that there will not be any problem during saving, This is done by basis person. Just discuss with basis consumtant if you want to reduce the gap from one order to other.
This is not a  bug, this is standard. Reason for this is the buffering of number range. You can find explaination about this bahvoir in SAP note 62077, this note descripe the behavoir in general. SAP note 456777 descripe the behavoir once again for production and process orders.
Check the above notes and explore

  • Number Range Object for a Infoobject

    Hi Gurus,
Can anyone explain me what is the significance of Number Range Object for a perticular infoobject and what do you mean by Buffering of those Number Range Object...
    Your help will be appreciated..
    Thanks a lot in advance..
    Thanks,
    Shalaka.

    Hai Shalaka,
The number range buffer is used to increase performance when assigning
numbers. Instead of fetching the numbers each time from the database,
a single access to the buffer suffices. Only when the buffer is empty,
is it refilled from the database (table NRIV).
Use of the buffer has the following benefits:
    · Accessing the main memory is a thousand times quicker than accessing
the database. Speed is particularly important for applications that
    assign numbers frequently.
    · Database accesses are always subject to the database transaction
mechanism. Once an application has assigned a number for one user, a
second user cannot assign a number until the first user has executed a
commit operation on the database. The application blocks further
assignment, and the second user has to wait, until the commit has been
    executed.
    · The number range buffer can also prevent deadlock situations, which
may arise from assigning different numbers in a different order.
Since the SAP kernel accesses table NRIV directly for the number range
buffer, the structure of the table must never be changed. This also
    applies when adding new fields.
We can set number range buffering inSNRO t code.
Loading Master data - The number ranges buffer for the SID's resides
on the application server and reduces DB server accesses. If you set
e.g. the number range buffer for one InfoObject to 500, the system
will keep 500 sequential numbers in the memory and need not access the
    database.
#####>>> whenever master data loading is done system creates SIDs, &
to create SIDs system look into a specific table, check the latest
number & generate the next no in the series, so to check this latest
no for every time ( every record) system needs to go back to database
table & generate the next no in series. when I do the buffering I
provide the whole series to system at application level so it need not
to go back to table to check the latest no & generate the next one. It
just picks up the next in available on application server.
    >>>####
    Please refer - SAPnote 130253
Loading Transcation data - The number range buffer for the dimension
ID's resides on the application server and reduces DB server accesses.
For example, if you set the number range buffer for one dimension to
500, the system will keep 500 sequential numbers in memory and need
    not access the database
If you load a significant volume of transaction data (e.g., initial
load), increase the number range buffer. If possible, reset it to its
original state after the load in order to minimize unnecessary memory
    allocation
    Hope this information helps u....
    Asign points if helpfull
