Number Range Split from external to internal generation

Dear Expert,
Currently we have various customer account group for which single below number rang 02 is assigned. Client has sub-range slab which assigned to different account group, unfortunately this is setup was not setup in SAP system. Hence whenever user wanted to create new customer in particular group they look for last account number used in that sub-goup and then input account number. Now client want to shift everything in auto-generation and wanted to use same sub-range number in continuation. which I am finding difficulties since last number used from the 02 number range is 202102 and I am not sure how system will react if I delete existing number range 02 and then split with different number range and what will be the implication on existing records?

Hi Abdul,
Currently there is one number range assigned to both customer group and now we wanted to split and change to internal assignment. In below case A0001 should use next number 201151 and A0002 next number should be 202103? second group A0002 is possible by ending last number as 202102 in number 02, but how I will achieve group A0001 to generate next number as 201151?
E.g. Setup: External Number

PO number range- change from internal to external and then change it back

we have following situation- we had certain issues with the system where most of the data got curreptrd except data relative to procurement for dates March 7 to March 30. We have extracted the procurement data - PR / PO etc for the dates March 7 to March 30 and we want to upload this data in the uncorrupted enviornment dated March 6 using the old numbers originally assigned by the system.
I need to change the configuration for PR and PO number range from Internal to external so we can upload PR and POsfrom March7 to March 30 and then swich the number ranges back to internal so we can enter new data dating from March 31.
What is the best way to do this?

Hi
Create external number range and assign it to theno. range external in that Document type then you can use both internal and external number ranges for that doc without disturbing the system once completed remove the external number for that doc type. while creating the PO give the number you want before saving so that the PO will be saved with the number you had given.
Note: Make sure that you are not using duplicate PO no already assigned

Change FI doc number range indicator from internally to externally assigned

Hi,
I created a new numberrange for 2011 but did not check the Ext (external number range indicator).
When I try to change it to external by trying to mark the option, it does not work.
What can cause this ??

Hi,
check your settings in FBN1 for the number range. if the document number was assigned intially as internal and you are changing the setting in the next year system would not allow the change.The setting of No range is Co code specific if you change in one co code you will have to change in the other co codes.

To swap internal number range with an External number range

Hi SAP Guru's,
We have a a landscape with SAP which is divided in 2 ERP's.
One being the Central server and other the Local.
The scenario is that when ever i create a maintenance order in the central server a replication should happen in the local server and the order number should be same as that of central server.
And the scenario should be Vice versa i.e whenever the order is created in a local server it should be replicated in the central.
Both the number ranges used in central and local server are different.
I am not able to find out how we can achieve the above stated scenario.
Please advice what should be my POA.

Hi ,
1.You have to find the Difference that Wether the order is created using Integration or Manually from the System.
2.The Standard SAP uses Function Module Number_get_next or Badi to fetch the Number and the number is assigned to Order.
Thats how the internal number ranges works .
3.Now your Scenario is to Owerite the Original number given by system by the function module or BADI .
4.Now you find that Plug in Point and Write an Implicit enhancment Point and Owerite the Original value given by System.
So then only you can Owerite the Original Value.

Moving music from external to internal - what do I need to do?

Most of the discussions here regarding moving music seem to be from moving to an internal device to external. I have the opposite situation coming up and need some help.
I'm getting a new MacBook Pro (late 2011) next week with a 500 Gb internal HD. I have a 6-year-old "first generation" MBP that came with a 100 Gb drive and had no room for my 162 Gb iTunes library. Now that I have the space, I want to copy all my music from the external to the internal, and although I know that I should copy my "iTunes" folder on the external to the "Music" folder on the new computer, I'm unsure whether or not iTunes will "fix" the paths on it's own, or whether I'll have to drag all 2,000+ folders to the iTunes app to have it recognize the path changes.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you solve it! I have the same problem as I want to store my "central" library for all other macs in my family to use when they want to use Itunes, makes sense frome a storage efficiency to me. I stopped by at the mac store in Stockholm and they said it was only to move the music folder, and go in and change under settings and advanced in Itunes to redirect it to the external hard drive and the new music folder.... but no, doesnt work.

Sales Document Number ranges Split

We need to load from DSO to Cube by splitting the load on Sales order Document number because of the volume.
Can you please help me how do we split the ranges , how can we find the starting sales order and the ending sales order .

Hi,
As per my understanding, you are trying to load data from DSO to cube on sales document number selection.
To see the data in ODS, Right click on ODS -
> Manage -
> Contents ---> Click on Active table.
You can see records in table. Sort the entries, then you can find the sales document numbers in order.
You have to do full load.

PSE 8 - move catalog from external to internal HD

On my old computer, I moved my catalog from an internal hard drive to an external one. After ages and ages of reconnecting files, I backed it up, put the external HD on the new computer, and restored it. Now I want to copy or move all the files from the slow external HD to the faster internal one. But I can't figure out how to do this? Only the catalog moved but not the individual files.
Any suggestions?

Excellent point. I should have been more specific.
What I did was:
File->backup catalog to CD, DVD or Hard Drive
followed by
File->restore catalog from CD, DVD or Hard Drive
I then selected restore files and catalog to new location, specified a new location on drive C, and selected restore original folder structure.
After all that, I have all my photos but when I click on show properties for one of them, it lists its location as being on the external HD and not the internal drive C.

I have about 65000 music files that i have transferrd from my external to a new laptop internal HD.
I have organised the folders myself as I use a PC and do not want itunes to organise the folders because when I'm searching through music on windows it is sorted out by artists/albums with 'the...(eg The Beatles)' under 'T' instead of 'B'.
Long story short.... Is there any way that I can keep my itunes library as it is on the external HD and copy it to the new laptops C drive, keep all the info (playlists etc) and still have the same folder structure as on the external HD?
Or, is there any way of making windows sort things in alphabetical order like it is in itunes (eliminating the 'the' issue)?

The files that weren't inside the media folder on the original machine need to be copied over to exactly the same paths as they had on the source machine. See this thread for an ongoing discussion of a similar problem. See also this post on migrating the iTunes library.

How to transfer iTunes library from external to internal drive?

Awhile back, I'd run out of space on my internal HD and transferred all of my content to a larger external HD. I don't remember "repointing" my iTunes Library (as you can do in iPhoto) but somehow, iTunes recognized this and has since been backing up and restoring my iPhone to/from it.
This however, has created quite a few problems (too numerous to mention) and so, having recently installed a larger HD in my internal, I now want to re-point iTunes back to it.
How is this achieved?

Unless you have disabled iTunes organizing media and copying to media folder in your iTunes preferences settings all your media should be going to wherever you have designated as your media location. You can use the organize feature in that preference grouping to ensure all media entered in the iTunes library is actually copied to that designated location.

Moving library from external to internal hard disk

When I started working with Lightroom, I put my library on an external 500GB Lacie hard drive to conserve space on my computer's hard disk.
I now have a new system:
Mac Pro
OS X 10.5.3
10GB of RAM
video card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
with a nominal 500GB disk that I have partitioned into 250GB (available space 232.69GB)for my Lightroom library which currently occupies just under 39GB on the external hard drive, and a 250GB Photoshop scratch disk.
How can I move the library from the external hard drive to the new internal drive?
I am working with Lightroom 1.3 and would prefer to move the whole library rather than kludge it by importing catalog by catalog.

What I'd do is make a parent folder on the external for all of your images inside of LR. Then copy all the images, including the parent to the new location. Copy the catalog to its new location too. Then open the copied catalog, at which time all your folders will be red. Then locate just the parent folder within LR and all the rest will be found. Then delete the parent and promote the rest.

Moving a folder from external to internal hard disk

I want to move a music folder on my external hard drive to the internal one. I had previously disabled the option of copying files to iTunes library so this folder is not a part of iTunes Music folder Music/iTunes/iTunes Music but is is added to the library. If this would have been a folder on internal one then seems like itunes synchronizes it if I move the folder at some other location but here in this case if I move the files then there is no synchronization and itunes asks me to locate it. I don't seem to find any solution online. Please help

now i am working upgradation project from 4.7 to 6.0. sandbox i created one Asset, After that i posed amount to that asset by using f-90.now i run depreceation in ABAF T code the bellow issue is comming

But no ranges for that particular year having, if any changing that one it s not come edit or deleating

Hi Gangadhar,
after 4.6C the Internal Number Range was changed into external Number Range due to technical requirements.
As the error messages due to posting manual into the affected number ranges could not be hindered in this case with ERP2005 the desicion was made to rechange to internal number range. Note 890976 describe what to do here.

i am getting error wile posting Dep (AFAB) for external number range assignment for Document type AF (Dep Posting in Current Year, but in last year it get posted with internal number range only)

The external number assignment, therefore, should not be understood as manually entering the document number. It is only external from the point of view of the Financial Accounting application.
Procedure
Change the number range 03 from internal to external number assignment in Asset Accounting Customizing.
Why system is behaving like this. It should be internal number range as i post the Dep in other clients and it is working properly with internal number range.

While running DEP AFAB, I get the following Error resulting

Hi,
Upto version 4.7, you need to have the number range marked as 'external'.
In ECC 6.0, you need to have the version as 'internal'. You can change the number range from 'external' to 'internal' only when you change the status (current number) to zero. If it is year specific number range, any significant impact may not be there. Nevertheless, please follow the note 890976.
