Number ranges create

Dear experts .
when creating number ranges for docments posted , what is difference between transaction codes FBN1 & SNRO
explain me the differences of these two transactions codes
Thanks in Advance
B

Hi Baskar,
SNRO :- It is used for maintainning  number ranges for any business transaction. It is useful in case we dont know where to maintain the number range and we just know the object related to specific business transaction.sometime object name we get in errors also.
eg- object MATERIALNR is used for material master number range interval.
object FD_IDENT is used for Cash management and forcast number range.
FBN1:- It is used for maintaing only FI document number ranges.
Thanks,
Neha

  • Number range not created in SNRO for new created Z-Infoobject

    hello all,
I created a Z Infoobject of a SAP delivered infoobject, basically I went to RSD1 used template 0COSTCENTER and creater a Z object of same to add few more objects as attr and test something.
Now I am trying to run the FM "RSD_IOBJ_GET" to get the number range, which I am able to do succesfully by using the ZINFOOBJECt name and object version "A" and I_BYPASs_BUFFER = "X". i get the number range, go to tcode SNRO and input BIM and the number range i got from previous FM but it says the number range does not exist?
My question is when is the number range created? I am trying to improve load time by doing the number range buffering.
Please let me know, thanks in advance for replies.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
When you use this FM "RSD_IOBJ_GET" , the number range object will be in table "E_S_VIOBJ". Double click on this and look at the number in column "NUMBRANR". Add the "BIM" in front of that number to get the required number range. Then go to tcode SNRO. In the field -"OBJECT", provide this number range object (for eg . BIM0076070). Then click on display or maintain. This will give you the Number range object for the master data infoobject and also the details if it is bufferred or not. You can follow up accordingly then.
Hope you followed the same process to get the number range object.
Also, have a look on the below link to get details :

  • Sales employee number range

    Dear experts,
Under the same client in SAP system, can different company codes have different sales employee number ranges? If yes, should I just activate the number range? You know, there's no number range assignement to company codes.
    Plz help. Many thanks.
    Example:
log on SAP - client 800
    client 800 has 2 company codes: 1001, 1002
    Request:
sales employee under company code 1001: 10xxxxx
sales employee under company code 1002: 20xxxxx
ps. Currently HR module is not applied to client 800. Two years later, HR will be applied.

There shouldn´t been any troubles with different number range. You have to be sure that you have the different number range create in PA04 and that in feature NUMKR you asign a diferent number range to each employee subgroup. For example, if you have number range "01" for sales employees and number range "02" for the rest of employees, your feauture must be something like this:
    Numkr
       Employee Subgroup
            SE (sales employee)
              01
            else
              02
After you activate the feature it should work ok, if everything is done correctly in PA04 and in the feature.
If it´s not working I am not sure what could be happening.
    Hope I can help you.

  • Number Range for Contact persons in SAP CRM

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone brief me about the contact persons concept in CRM and ERP?
How and where the the no. ranges are maintained , config settings, link between ERP and CRM?
Standard Account group for contact persons in ERP and CRM?
I would appreciate and points would be awarded .
    Best Regards
    Suchhi

Contact persons can be maintained on both sides. In our case, we mantain contact persons mainly for needs of sales department, so we set master on CRM.
How and where the the no. ranges are maintained , config settings, link between ERP and CRM?
To define number ranges on crm side go to IMG>Cross-Application Components>SAP Business Partner>Business Partner> Basic Settings>Number Ranges and Groupings>Define Number Ranges
For number range created you have to create grouping. This grouping has to be assigned manually or automatically when creating a business partner. The business partner gets a number from the number range that is assigned to the grouping.
This can be defined under IMG>Cross-Application Components>SAP Business Partner >Business Partner>Basic Settings> Number Ranges and Groupings>Define Grouping and Assign Number Ranges
For number range created inCRM system you have to define a corresponding number range in the ERP. This is necessary to ensure that business partners created in CRM system get the same ID when they are replicated to ERP.
Go to IMG>Logistics>General >Business Partner>Customers>Control>Define and Assign Customer Number Ranges
Next define account groups under IMG>Logistics>General>Business Partner>Customers>Control>Define Account Groups and Field Selection for Customer
For each of CRM business partner classifications you have to define a mapping to an ERP account group. Run transaction code PIDE and do the mapping.
And of course your middleware settings must also be in order.
Standard Account group for contact persons in ERP and CRM?
There are no predelivered account groups for contact persons.
    Regards.

  • Create vendor in ERP R/3 with internal number range

    HI,
When I create a new vendor from MDM in R/3 with internal number range ADRMAS is processed OK but CREMDM is in status 51 because of missing address data.
According to sap note  1052964 (se below) ADRMAS must be the first IDOC and it should contain the vendor number, but this is not possible with internal number range. How do you overcome this problem and how do I get the vendor number back to MDM?
ALE inbound needs the customer / vendor account number within the ADRMAS IDoc to link the ADRMAS IDoc to the follwing DEBMAS / CREMAS IDoc correctly. Therefore field <OBJ_ID> in ADRMAS segment <E1ADRMAS> must contain exactly the same value as fields <KUNNR> / <LIFNR> in the corresponding DEBMAS / CREMAS IDoc. If this value is not provided, the Business Address Service stores the address but is unable to link the address later on to the corresponding Customer / Vendor.
    Kind regards
    Jonna

We have worked around these problems in the past.  These are the steps we took:
    1.  We created a custom program to process a CREMDM IDOC.  This custom program was pretty simple.  It called the function module to process a CREMAS IDOC (IDOC_INPUT_CREDITOR) then did a committ.  The program captured the vendor number and then called the function module (IDOC_INPUT_ADRMAS) that processes an ADRMAS IDOC (It plugged in the previously captured Vendor number in the ADRMAS).
    2.  Using this custom program, it is not necessary in PI to split the CREMDM into a CREMAS and an ADRMAS.
    3.   The last step in the custom program kicked off transaction MDMV to trigger an outbound CREMDM IDOC back to MDM.  This was necessary to update the vendor number in MDM.

  • Anybody ever created multple PO doc type/number ranges in extended classic?

I have searched this forum, and found plenty of useful threads which would help me determine different document types/number ranges for back-end purchase orders in a classic scenario. (And I have done something similar many years ago on a classic EBP 3.0 implementation)
However, I have a customer who has an SRM 5 extended classic implementation, and who (Based on certain simple criteria) requires a different PO number range to identify certain types of indirect orders. (They also have direct materials procured using doc type ECDP, but that's not relevant to this requirement)
This would obviously have to apply to the local PO in SRM, as well as the backend ECC PO.
It would also need to be derived for orders created automatically via approved shopping carts, as well as those orders that are created via sourcing.
I've copied ECPO via define transaction types IMG step, as well as assigned a new number range.
Just to test, I've also added the second doc type in the BSA attribute for a particular test user - just initially see if it was possible to manually choose when creating a PO in sourcing. However, I could only get ECDP and ECPO.
I have looked at various BADIs to see if I can determine doc type or number range somewhere in the PO creation, but as far as I can see, they either:
    - Seem to apply only to the object type (PO, requisition, reservation etc) rather than the transaction type within that object.
    - Or look like they are too late in the process to influence the doc type and number range (BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI?) ... which doesn't seem to have those doc type or PO number fields available anyway
    - Or I doesn't seem to be trigerred at all when turning requirement into Po and ordering via sourcing. (tried break-point & endless loop in implemnetation of BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW, but nothing happened. In any case the PO number was alreadya ssigned)
If anybody has ever managed this before, or can tell me that I am definitely barking up the wrong tree, it would be gratefully appreciated. The document type is actually lesss important than the different number range... and was really just an attempt to trigger a different number. I'm starting to think that this sort of thing may only be possible in a classic implemntation.
What I need ideally, would have been some kind of 'local PO' equivelent of the BADI that enables you to determine transaction type for a bid.
    Regards,
    Vince
Edited by: Vincent White on Dec 6, 2010 5:13 PM

Hi. Not sure on this, but I can tell you that with extended classic it is BADI BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI that is called for the backend PO instead of the CREATEPO_BACK BADI.
You can have a look in BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI and see if that helps?
Don't think it will influence the PO in SRM at all though.
Have you tried the number range / grouping BADIs? They definitly work for changing the number range for classic POs.
    Regards,
    Dave.

  • Not able to created Number Ranges for Asset Classes in AS08

    Dear Friends,
I am not able create Number Ranges for Asset Classes in AS08.
It is giving me an error message as company code does not exist.
When I Check Consistency under path SPRO -> Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Preparing for Production Startup -> Check Consistency -> Overview Report: Company Codes. I am getting the following
    RSOL  Reliance Sealink One PLtd
    CoCode no. alloc.    NKTR
Fiscal Year Variant  V3   Apr.- March, 4 special periods

    Calc.insur.value
    Input tax exempt
If you see the above first two line you will find the difference is that Company code RSOL in the first line and NKTR company code in the second line.
Actually CoCode no. alloc. has been wrongly copied as NKTR while copying CoCode it should be RSOL and not NKTR.
I think because of this wrong allocation it is giving me an error in AS08. Also it is not showing me CoCode in drop down list in AS08.
Please help me to resolve the problem.
    Thanks

Look in TC OAOB if the company code is assigned to a chart of depreciation

  • How to create number ranges with "OK60" transaction or any other.

    Hello,
I need to create a new number range to asigne to a document type , using transaction OK60 ( the error says this transaction).
but I only can display with this transaction, and I would like to update.
Is there any other transaction to do this , or is there any way to do this with this transaction OK60?
    Thank you very much.
    Kind regards
    Olga

    Hi,
OK60 indeed is used for creating number ranges for FI/CO earmarked funds transactions. You should press on 'Pencil' button and create an interval. If for some reasons, you cannot do this via this transaction, try using SNRO transaction, with IRW_BELEG parameter. If this also fails, then apply to BASIS team to check your authorizations.

  • Is it possible to create Order type with different number ranges-Plant wise

    Hi Experts
Client wants to get the different number ranges for the order types created in the different plants. Is there any user exit for the same.
I have assigned the order type to the different plants. And Order type is assigned to a no range. So whenever a order type is created in different plants; order types uses the same number ranges.
so with this situation one cann't know the total no. of order created within a plant.
Is there any solution for the same.
    Pease give your valuable solutions.
    Regards
    Pankaj

    Hi
Best way is to create different order types for different plants.
    like we have order types OR15 ,OR20 & OR30 for different plants 1500 ,2000 & 3000 .
you can assign different number range for different order type.
    this is simplest solution.
