Number ranges in SOLMAN 4.0

Hello Experts,
We have both SAP users creating their SOLMAN tickets directly via the SAP Gui and Portal users leveraging SOLMAN's URL via the web to create their tickets.
Both the SAP Gui and SOLMAN URL are pointing towards the same number range and creating tickets using SAP SOLMAN Numbers. How can we segregate or isolate the creation of number ranges between SAP and Portal users? I mean how can we use a seperate number range for both these different tickets...
say Portal number ranges begin with "8888" and SAP user number ranges begin with "9999".
FYI: we are using SOLMAN 4.0 to create end-user incidents with integrated mySAP ERP2005 and Portal systems.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Sindhu

Hi Ragu,
Thank you for your reply. They implemented the isolation of the number ranges for portal users and SAP users in SOLMAN 3.1 and they recently upgraded to SOLMAN 4.0. Now they lost this feature in 4.0 and both the tickets are pointing to the same number range buffer and they want to have the same feature in 3.1 (isolation of number ranges) to be implemented in 4.0.
Thanks,
Sindhu

  • Number range reset to issue in solman 7.1

    Hi,
Currently i am working on ChaRM configuration in solman 7.1.
I am trying to reset the number range /TMWFLOW/M object(Maintenance Project) .
    Currently showing number range interval
    From number : 000000000  To Number : 099999999 Current Number : 79
I  tried to reset the Current Number : 0. But it showing error "Please enter From-number greater 0".
So i tried to change the number range From number : 000000001  To Number : 999999999 , again it showing error "Lower limit can only be changed during initial entry"
Due to this issue i am not able to create task list in maintenance project. It showing  "  Internal Phase
    Controller Problem" error.
So please give some idea to reset the number range.
    Rg,
    Karthik

I vaguely remember having this problem during Ramp Up (or a similar problem). Are you on SP3?
This is how I fixed it:
As you have already tried it is not possible to edit the lower
value in the number range from tranx SNRO; but you can edit
(via debugger) the corresponding entry in table NRIV.
( please only do this only if you are absolutely sure what to do ).
The problem can only occur in newly installed systems with
a old version of the note 1576472; But since June, I believe there is a new corrected
version of this note. so ideally this  problem should not occur anymore. Which Is why I asked if you are on SP3.
    Hope that Helps!
    Cheers!

  • Wrong number range in ECC Message creation in "Create Support message " tab

    Dear All,
While creating the support message in any R3 server (ECC,BW etc.) system by clicking
help->create support message option in main menu tab.
The message number sequence changes from existing to new saequence.
The initial sequence is 9999011940 but the current sequence generated
by system is 1549. We had updated our R3 system with SAP_APPL component
stack to 17. This changed sequence is happening after patch upgrade.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ravi,
Did you also patch your SOLMAN system ?
I believe this is controlled by number range object CRM_SERVIC  in your solution manager. Check OSS note 903528 (particularily the section around the resetting of the number range object)

  • Number Range BU_PARTNER & CRM_SERVIC

    Hi,
We have newly Installed the Solman 7 EHP1. I have configured Standard Service Desk & CHARM.
But when I created first support message its number is 8000000074 next number is 8000000075. After this next ticket number is 8000000080, 8000000082.
    There is no continus numbers.
Even in Business Partner number also I am not getting the sequence. Randomly system is assigning numbers.
    What coud be the reson.
    objects BU_PARTNER & CRM_SERVIC
    Regards
    PK

    Hi PK,
I see two reasons for this not so randomly assignements :
    1. If you create a support message, a number is reserved within the number range you define, but if you don't save the message, the number will be lost.
    2. there a buffering system for reserving numbers in the application server this buffer can be the reason why there is a gap in ticket numbers (Tx SNRO).
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Stéphane.

  • Project Name - Internal Number Range

    Dear All,
When we create a solman project, manually we give the project name. Want to know whether it is possible to give a internal number range from which the project number should be picked automatically when we create a project.
    Thanks and Regards
    Saravanan.p

    Hi Saravanan,
You can assign an internal number range with respect to the Project name.
    Go to TC <b>CRMC_NR_RA_SERVICE</b>
there by selecting the interval tab you can define the number range in which you want your support desk message corresponding to the project.
hope this will help you out, if not then post your recent error.

  • Solman_Setup basic config - No free number range available

    Dear Solution manager Gurus -
We have recently upgraded our Solution manager to 7.1 SP 11 (latest).
    While doing
    Solman Basic configuration in Solman_setup.
in Step 7- Maintain Systems in iBase, Step "Maintain number range for material", we get the error as "No free number range available.".
We have reviewed SAP note 1741109 - ITSM 7.1 - Generation of IBase Components is not working and followed all the steps.
However the error we are getting is "No Free number range available" is not mentioned anywhere in the above note.
I have also created OSS message for SAP to look at, no reply from SAP yet.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Hi Swarali
    Please call the T_CODE- /nCOMC_MATERIALID_ALL
Select LMDB--> Display Intervals--> Delete the intervals marked with check box--> "External"
    Do the same for CMDB.
Then change the intervals in order for LMDB- ....7100000000.--> .........7199...
    CMDB---> ..........72000......--> .......7299......
And then follow note: 1741109-- Here the activity "Maintain Number Range for Material" will be explained detailed:
For Database (LMDB), number range 00000000007300000000 to 00000000007399999999
For Host (LMDB), number range 00000000007400000000 to 00000000007499999999

  • Change Request Documents Number Range

    Dear All,
For the transaction type SDCR & SDHF i have maintained Internal number range & un tick the early no assignment option. For few days there was no problem, but when i seen today, few numbers were missing for both CR & UC. When i checked in SNRO / SNUM the buffer maintained is 10. I dont want this skipping of CR & UC numbers in between. Hiow can i restrict this ? If i made buffer as 0, is there any issue will create ?
    regds,
    CB

    Hi,
when declaring a transaction  type in SPRO under ChaRM node, 'Define Transaction Types', Under 'Transaction Numbering' you can choose to check 'Early No Assignment'. If you do that, then Solman reserves a number for a new transaction each time you create a Document in CRMD_ORDER. If you do not save the ticket; then : number will be lost and Solman will go to the next one.
Thats how you have missing numbers in the interval you defined
    Hope this helps
    Regards

    Dear All,
I have a problem when creating message from satellite system. I have set:
    1.  number ranges for ABA Message and service desk message and match internal ABA message with external number Support Message in Solman.
    2. Table BCOS_CUST in Satellite system.
    3. RFC Generation in Solman and satellite, both RFC works.

Do i have to maintain number ranges for Basic Notification (DNO_NOTIF) in satellite system. If yes, how to maintain it?Because when I want to maintain it from tx: SNUM and DNO_NOTIF, it says Number Range is locked for maintenance. FYI, im using sap_all in satellite, so i don't think its because authorization.
Is there any solution for this?
Any Helpful answer will be rewared
    Rgds,

  • Excise invoice and domestic invoice sharing same number range

Hi,gurus,my question is addresed to the sap cin gurus
Scenario:-- Normally sap has provided provisions that the domestic invoice and the excise for the export will have different number range object
Transaction-snum or snro(As per the rule the no range has to be approved by excise authorities)
Requirement:--The present requirement of the client is that as per their requirement they will be using the same excise number range both for domestic and the export(They have got the approval from the excise department as per the amendment, that specifies the same)
so i request you to pls guide me as how can it be done in sap that two different business process will share the same number range.
as per my knowledge local excise number range is-J_1IEXCLOC
and for exports is-J_1IEXCEXPand the both will use the same number range and, suppose 1 local invoice is created and say if the no is 1,then if the export excise invoice is created the number will be 2,pls guide me how is it possible that the same number range should be used.
    Thanks in advance---Anshuman chakraborty

Dear sir,Thanks for attention towards the issue, but still i need to clarify some details-
the number range forJ_1IEXCLOC are already configured .It is not the case like i have to configure it for the first time however ,so the issue remains how shall i proceed in this case
Sir,i have already checked the transaction j1iin,it does not give any such box to check the-use local no range
infact the error message which the system was throwing to the user that-number range object not assigned for Object: J_1IEXCEXP.
The question remains from my side is what are the complete configuration steps I need to do ,to make the check box appear so as to select-use local number range, and is there any thing to be conveyed to my developer,so that the same appears,
or is it the case like the anything should earlier have been done before the number range for J_1IEXCLOC was created.i would request u to pls guide me giving the complete details of the step to be followed.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to find next number range for project definition in tcode CJ20N

    Hai Experts,
Please help me 'How to find next number range for project definition in tcode "CJ20N". I was trying in function module NUMBER_GET_NEXT. Is it right function module? If its right what input i need to give for this tcode and for the field project definition?

    Hi,
For project defination internal number is assigned by system.
When you saves's project then system allocate one number to project defination, you can view it,
SE11 >>> table  PROJ >> Click on contents >>> execute,
here you will get your project defination & number is assigned to project defination.

  • CRM ISA R/3 Edition on AP 7.0  Pricing Routine Number range error

    Hi Experts,
For our R/3 ISA Secenerio I have developed a Pricing Prepare Routine (PRP). I have uploaded this routine into AP 7.0 ( which runs my IPC 5.0). Now when I try to register my PRP routine I'm not able to do so because of Number range not defined for Application V Scenerio A and Routine Type PRP.
    My question are:
<b>1)</b> For a PRP type Routine( Multiple Implementation) is it important to assign a
routine number?    ***( according to pricinguserexit manual dummy routine no
                                      has to be assigned)******
<b>2)</b> If yes then how can i assign Number range for this combination.
NOTE: AP 7.0 has SP 7 ( So it fullfills requirment for Special scenerio)
I have never recieved a reply for my query from this forum... hope someone helps this time. <b>:)</b>

  • How to assign numbers in external number range?

    Dear experts,
Since NUMBER_GET_NEXT can only be used to assign numbers in internal number range, how to assign numbers in external number range?
So far, I only know the NUMBER_CHECK function module to deal with external number ranges and it only check a number whether it lies in any external number range or not, but it doesn't update any number range status. What I need is a function module like NUMBER_GET_NEXT that supports external number range.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Haris
Edited by: harissahlan on Oct 19, 2011 5:44 AM

With external number range, there is no updating of the number range objectt. The only thing you need to know is whether the number you wish to assign is allowed according to the external number range. And also check if there isn't already an object/document with the same number in the database.
