Numbers '09 Slows down to a halt

Numbers '09 slows down to a halt when I add error bars to a graph. If the data series has ~60 points forget it - the thing halts.
I soo want to use Numbers '09, but for now I have to use either OpenOffice or Excel - both which handle this with ease.

There have been a number of posts related to slowness and charts but usually about 3D charts or huge data sets. And there are times that a document gets slow for no apparent reason. I haven't seen a large slowdown with a 60 datapoint chart with error bars. I just created a scatter plot from two 61 row columns of random numbers and it was slower for me on my Macbook Pro. Not a crawl but there were noticeable pauses.

  • 3 year old macbook, 10.6 leopard, completely slowing down to a halt.

I've had this macbook for three years. So far, no problems, until now. I have found, lately, that if I try to run two programs together, for instance utorrent and a movie, the computer slows down to an aboslute halt, and then takes nearly thirty minutes to reboot and get back to normal. I tried copying a file to a USB, and it took 15 minutes to copy 3GBs, and then didn't even complete it. It's extremely frustrating, though I'm sure there is a relatively easy fix. I just have no idea what it is. this is my first Mac, so I don't really know the ins and outs right now. Help would be so greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Your computer is running slowly because it is stuffed.
If I may, its your computer not mine, a suggestion. Get yourself an external hard drive and use it for regular backing up. You are in grave danger now of losing everything on the drive because of the problem of overcrowding.
    For now,
    1. erase as much as you can from the drive;
    2. buy the OS 10.6 DVD - you will need it. If you are in the US, this works: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    3. buy an external drive for regular backing up. This is an example of what you can get for <$100.

  • MacBook slowing down to a halt after 10.8.2 update

So just two days ago, when attempting to use my MacBook Pro everything just SLOWED down.  When I say slowed down, I mean almost to a halt.  I click on an icon, 30 seconds later it will show it depressed, a few minutes later it may launch the application which may or may not function properly.  I *think* the night before was when I updated to 10.8.2, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
It's very difficult to even try different methods to get it to work properly again since doing ANYTHING on the computer takes forever.  This is very very concerning to me as I basically can't use my computer at all anymore.
Since I don't have AppleCare, am I really going to pay Apple Genius money to figure out why the Apple update broke my computer? PLEASE HELP!

    Try:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
If this doesn't help then reinstall Mountain Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • I seem to be having an issue whenever I open up a new page other sites keeping appearing and the pc has slowed down to a halt. What should i do to restore back to normality?

I foolishly opened a free online movie site and since then my pc has slowed down and i keep getting other sites popping up constantly.
    What should i do??

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • CF slows down to a halt ... images not displaying

My primary laptop on which I do all coding ...
    - less than 1 year old
    - Dell (cough) XPS M1730
    - Windows XP (latest)
    - ColdFusion Ver 8, developer edition.
    - No other issues with laptop
    Also running
    - SQL 2000
    - Synergy
    - Anti virus etc. changed Norton daily scan and unaware that I have picked up any viruses - I was my hands very well and often
Over 6 months gradually CF has been slowly not display internal referenced <img src> tags.  External work fine.
To the point now where most in our app do not display.
Then in the past 3-4 days a lot of pages when called give Firefox or IE errors:
Page will not display with too may users error.
    But there aren't any others.
I go to all other web site, no issues with speed.
I just cold warm booted the machine and now while page 1 appears, page 2, login, takes minutes to appear.  But on a beta server (also developer edition) it's instant.
When I go straight into the browser, it works fine, albeit no images, crashes with a known bug (missing application variable), fix it, then resume, then just sits there forever.
And there's no difference between the two machines ... well, not in "that" way.
Adding to my confusion is ... I cannot get into the CF Admin panel.
I can see it approve me, then it just spins.
Nothing has changed on machine in past weeks EXCEPT traveling when I sign in to the usual plethora of wifi and other networks but never had a problem - except luggability
I am thinking of, UGH, reinstalling Windows ... but why bother if it's working perfectly and only ColdFusion has an issue.
Now COLD booted machine for 5 minutes.
Everything seems better except CF still a BIT sluggish and still not "drawing" most images.  Able to access Admin panel.  Even if there images not displaying.
    Anyone any ideas?

Thanks for your prompt reply ...
We scoured for a folder like that and found none.
What we DID find is that over the years of coding, we have a template count of 3,500 files in 130 folders, but the root where we start is about 1,500 files.   144 megs total size though.
That shouldn't be too much?  Esp as our beta and production servers are using the same amount with no issues.
    Admittedly production is CF 7.X.
Much more powerful machines but still.
It would have made sense as that is the only thing on the machine that has "grown" ... but no luck.
Does remind me of the day when our mail server got hacked and we had 100,000 outbound in the spool.  That was fun.: :)

  • Photoshop CC slows down suddenly, for several minutes

    Hi!
I have a problem with Photoshop CC. I sit on a 27" iMac, 8GB RAM and an i5 processor, OS X Mavericks, Wacom intuos Pro tablet.
My problem, that suddenly occurs is tha Photoshop CC suddenly slows down to a halt. No error messages, it just gets very very slow. The first sign is that I suddenly cant zoom. I try to zoom, and nothing happens. Then the cursor, still able to move around with no problem, wont change to an arrow when hovering over buttons or menu items. If I open Safari, everything works fine, exept if I go back to Photoshop, then only the properties window will show. Photoshop is like this for up to ten minutes, then suddenly everything happens at once. All the zooming, closing of images if I tried that (with the keyboard), and then it is all fine again.
The problem occurs both when I do complex work with many layers, but also when doing simpler work with just a few layers.
I have 850GB free storage space and Photoshop is allowed to use 5GB of RAM. I usually dont have open more than two pictures at once. I use Lightroom 5, and PS CC as an external editor.
Any ideas how to solve this? It does sound like PS is writing alot to the HD sometimes, but it should not get this slow anyway, and the program does not freeze as in software error. I dont need to force quit PS, I just need to wait it out. Very annoying!
Sorry for my bad English! It is not my first language

Tells us a bit more about the work you are doing:
    How many layers?
What types of layers? Shape? Text? etc.
    Document dimensions?
    Bit depth?
    File size on disk?
Also, tell us a little about how things are set up:
    Where is your scratch disk?
How much free space on that disk?
    How much RAM?

  • Numbers '09 stalls, slows down, shows incorrect formulas in Formula List

I developed a relatively simple spreadsheet for help in calculating federal and state estimated income payments and the totals that will be due for the year. I enter data thru the year as it becomes known.
It has a main table that shows information totals from 6 other auxiliary tables where I track interest income and payments, income calculations, withholding, payments made, state and local taxes, etc. Obviously, every data entry I make on these auxiliary tables updates the main table.
The main table includes a number of rows/cells that sum other rows/cells, or reference the auxiliary tables, or calculate taxes due based on the taxable income to date.
It has worked fine until today, when suddenly one table began to slow down, taking as long as five to ten seconds to update cells or navigate, and now the main table does the same. The other tables act normally.
I have been over and over the formulas trying see if they are correct (a slow process, as selecting a cell can take 10 seconds). I note that when I use the Formula List to analyze the problem auxiliary table, some of the formulas are different from what the cell says when I highlight it. For example, the E4 cell says "C4-D4", which is what I want, and the formula list says "C4-B4".
I guess I could dump this table and start over fresh with a blank table but for future reference I would really like to know where I went wrong. Can't find anything in the Help function but maybe I am looking in the wrong places. Can one of you experts kindly help me out of my misery?

    Venetian Seeker wrote:
    Excel didn't work like this.
    VS,
Yes, Excel works like this too, if you sort the entire table. You may not have recognized it, but it does. If you sort only one column, something you can do in Excel but not in Numbers, you may not get an error, but you have certainly done some serious mashing of your data.
Whenever you sort, or otherwise move things around in a table, Numbers and Excel track the movements and adjust the formulas. This is normally what you would want.
In the rare case when you want to reference a particular cell, regardless if that cell's content is relocated, you should use an addressing method that resists the effects of sorting and moving. That would normally involve the INDIRECT and ADDRESS functions. A running balance calculation is one of those rare cases.
    Using your example "D24 =D23+(B24-C24) i.e previous balance(cell D23) +cash in (B24)-cash out(C24) on date A24", we can instead write the following:
    D24 =INDIRECT(ADDRESS(ROW()-1, COLUMN())) +B-C
You can use this same formula in your entire column D.
    Regards,
    Jerry

  • My mid 2011 MacBook Air has slowed down significantly overnight?

Last night my MacBook Air was working fine.
When I went to use it this morning, it has slowed down significantly. It takes awhile for it to respond to trackpad movement or the keyboard. Opening finder is delayed now, opening any app is delayed now. Booting it back up takes extra long now, probably around a minute compared to thirty seconds before.
I've tried an SMC reset, repairing the disk and repairing disk permissions.
From what I can see, the hardware doesn't appear to be failing, but I could be wrong.
Can anyone help me out? What could possibly be going on with my MacBook? How did this happen overnight?

Your MacBook Air's memory is not upgradable, and as you already determined unused storage capacity is not a relevant factor.
There are many reasons a Mac may be performing slower than expected.
Back up your documents and everything else important to you before proceeding.
To help determine the possible causes of this behaviour read the following. None of what follows is intended to fix anything, but it will provide the additional information required to advance troubleshooting:
Boot OS X Recovery by holding ⌘ and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red.
When it finishes restart your Mac and test again for operation. If it's still not behaving as you expect it should, please post the results of EtreCheck in accordance with the following instructions:
Apple Support Communities contributor etresoft wrote a very useful app to quickly gather certain system information that may help point to a cause of this problem. Go to his website, download and run EtreCheck:
    http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck
Etrecheck will be in your Downloads folder. Open it from there. You may see the following dialog box:
Click Open - etresoft contributes to this forum frequently and can be considered a trustworthy developer.
It will take a moment to run as it collects its data.
Copy and paste its output in a reply.
Do not be concerned about anything that says "Problem" or “failed” or anything else that may appear in red.
EtreCheck was designed to remove any personal information (such as your computer's name and serial numbers) but if you see anything that looks like an email address or any other personal information that should not be divulged to others, please delete or obscure that information when you post the reply.
When you are finished with EtreCheck, quit the program. It occupies very little space, and you can keep it or drag it to the Trash as you wish.
After completing the above please determine if the problems also occur in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
You must disable FileVault before you can start your Mac in Safe Mode.
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
Merely starting your Mac in Safe Mode is not intended to resolve the problem, it's to observe its performance without certain additional components.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.
To identify potential hardware problems: Apple Hardware Test.

  • Why is Numbers SO SLOW?!?

Wow, I'm really thinking about switching back to Excel, which is like blasphemy for me. I only use Numbers for one spreadsheet. It's my personal budget. I have a tab for each account, and one tab where I enter reoccurring payments/credits. There is a debit column and a credit column in each where I enter transaction amounts, then a current balance (for all checked transactions), and a running balance. This is repeated for each account. Most of the tabs only have about 50 rows by 9 columns and one tab has about 350 rows by 9 columns. It only keeps one calendar year's worth of transactions as I create a new file for each year. The calculations are mostly addition, subtraction, sums and a lot of IF statements and a few ROUND functions.
There is a fair bit of cell linking going on between accounts and also with the one tab where the reoccurring transactions are entered, but nothing that it shouldn't be able to handle with ease. Been using this identical spreadsheet on Excel for many years and on much slower hardware. The problem is that it is dog slow to do almost anything that requires it to recalculate the spreadsheet. Dragging a row to change it's position takes 20-30 seconds and brings up the beach-ball. Checking off a transaction (which updates the current balance) takes 2-3 seconds. Entering, changing or deleting a transaction amount takes 12-13 seconds and usually brings up the beach-ball.
Is there some way to speed this thing up like forcing it to calculate to a lower number of decimal precision or something? It's mind-numbingly painful to use. Sure, I could start simplifying my spreadsheet by removing all the links, but that defeats the purpose of using a spreadsheet. My budget is a very dynamic tool, and I want the ability to change one thing and see how it's going to affect my finances 8 months from now. Again, this is something Excel handled with ease. No matter what I changed in Excel, it would recalculate and refresh almost instantly. I could handle a bit of a delay (say 2-3 seconds), but having the app become unresponsive every time I make a simple change is not acceptable.
I had the same problems in Tiger, and hoped that a clean install of Leopard would improve things, but unfortunately not. I'm up to date on all iWork and OS updates. My wife uses the same budget on her MacBook and she complains about the same issues. I've even recreated the file from scratch to make sure it wasn't some kind of corruption. Numbers just appears to be really inefficient with recalculating lots of cells.
I'd be happy to send Apple a copy of my spreadsheet so they could do performance testing/tuning for the next Numbers update. The way it is, I can't see anyone using Numbers for anything even remotely complex.

This is just a stab in the dark, but as it is iWork, it is possible that one of the fixes for slow Pages may work. Here is the list I usually give for Pages users:
    1. Do you have any PostScript Fonts installed? Some people have reported problems with some PostScript Fonts.
    2. Do you have any missing fonts? When you open the document, does Pages complain that it cannot find one or several fonts?
    3. Do you have corrupt fonts? Open FontBook, select all fonts and then File > Validate Fonts.
    4. Corrupt pictures, songs and movies in your home folder's Movies, Music and Pictures folders can slow down the product through the Media Browser. AVI films in the Movie folder can slow things down, as QT usually cannot play them.
    5. Go to View > Hide > Layout. For some reason the layout slows things down.
    6. Don't view Thumbnails.
    7. Use the Text Fit option "follow contour" instead of "follow a square" in the bottom section of the wrap inspector.
    8. If an object is set to wrap, and a wrapped side squeezes out any possibility of text wrapping along that side - such as extending a text box to the margin, the extreme slowdown will occur. So don't.
    9. Use as few objects as possible Fixed on Page. Instead use Moves with Text.
    10. Reduce the resolution of your screen.
    11. Reduce the number of colours of your screen.
    12. Change your video card. (Yes, even the screen hardware may be the source of the problem.)
Just ignore any point that does not make any sense at all for you in Numbers.

  • System slowed down after Mavericks update (10GB RAM)

    Hi,
I have recently updated to Maverics on my mac pro, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 10GB RAM.
When I perform regular tasks it's all normal. Unfortunately I do some much more than that. I use Aperture on a daily basis and it seems to have slowed down a bit. The issue is more apparent when I use Final Cut. I can't have any other design/photography/video software on the background anymore. My computer can't deal with. But it could before Mavericks! It will also complain about not enough memory when rendering...
I understand that kernel task is heavy on the memory and after an EtreCheck I also realised how much memory spotilight is using. I already excluded a lot of items from spotlight, and it's way better, but still, why is my computer so slow?
Please can someone look at my check and tell me if there's anything I can do to boost my system back to it's previous glory?
    thank you

Beware of perceived RAM use. 10.9 uses RAM more efficiently:
About memory management in OSX 10.9 Mavericks
Memory is managed differently, and more efficiently in 10.9.  It is (mostly) unique in the industry, but may become trend.
Let’s start with the basics.  Mechanical disk drives are very slow, with access speeds in the 10s of milliseconds and transfer rates in the 200-400 Mbps range real world.  SSDs are much faster, on the order of a couple of ms access and typically 1200-3000 mbps transfer rates.  RAM is much faster than either, in the nanosecond access and transfer speeds of ~8 Gbps effective (1 GHz x 8 bits/byte).
These are rough numbers for comparison purposes only.
So the goal is to keep as much in RAM as possible. But if you run out of RAM what do you do?
Traditionally you take the least used RAM and write it to a special part of the disk, in a way that you can access it most efficiently - minimizing the disk delays.  This is called a swap file because you swap RAM in and out of it.
10.9 has a new trick:  it compresses RAM using the main processors.  Rather than swapping stuff to disk (disks are slow), it actually uses the processor to compress memory and make, for example, 1 GB of physical RAM hold as much as 1.5GB.  Similar approaches are used to make MP3 files 10x smaller than the real thing - there is redundancy in data and you can take advantage of that.  Apple is making the following calculation: the processors can compress way faster than the disk can swap.  And its also predicting that the processors are often partly idle - waiting for swap files or disk access.  So rather than swap files around, its compresses the files ***in RAM***.
Compression works,.  Tests show that on average it is faster, and that 4GB (i have 4 GB RAM) acts like 5 1/2 - 6GB.  Wow.
So, 10.9 will load up most of your RAM, knowing that it can compress some when it needs to.  So don’t worry too much that it may look like all your RAM is taken - yea, it is, but its OK.
The measures to look at are:
    1. amount compressed. Compression means it has run out of RAM and needs more. As long as compression is low this is fine. In fact this is how 10.9 uses RAM more efficiently than 10.6,7 or 8.  Contrary to common wisdom, it requires LESS RAM than 10.8. The colored indicator tells you who this is going - green (good), yellow( iffy) and red (bad).
    2. amount swapped.  Once it cannot compress any further, or can’t do so efficiently, jot begins old-fashioned swapping.  This is a major slow-down and means you would benefit from more RAM. Tiny amounts are OK.
here's an article by Apple - but on th pre-10.9 memory management techniques....mostly still true, but read on.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1342?viewlocale=en_US
Bottom line - compression makes 10.9 use RAM more efficiently than previous OSX versions.  It also makes the “ram used” indicator less meaningful, and mans you should monitor “compression” .
That said, RAM has always been one of the most cost effective upgrades possible.  People spend too much on new machines and too little on more RAM.
    Hope this helps,
    Grant

  • What is this all about? "The "QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6" plug-in is slowing down your Mac. You can wait for it to recover or stop it now."  I'm running Mavericks 6.8.

I regularly get a prompt reading as follows: "The "QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6" plug-in is slowing down your Mac. You can wait for it to recover or stop it now."  I've tried waiting, but nothing happens.  I "stop it now" and lose the page I'm reading.

  • Is there a fix for the slow processing yet? Clipping mask slows down Illustrator CS4 to the point it can't be used

I've seen a few older posts regarding CS4's bug with applying a clipping mask to any image that is somewhat complex, but have yet to find an answer.
The problem is, any time a clipping mask is applied to a semi-complex shape, Illustrator CS4 slows almost to a halt. We're talking 10 minutes of the beach ball to apply the mask and then another few minutes to do anything else with the document. This is unacceptable. My system is loaded (Dual 1.8 GHz G5, 1.25 GB of memory). The exact same files process fine in CS3. Many of our other designers are running iMacs and cannot work on the files at all using CS4. There has to be an answer to this problem.
Prefs have been deleted, Document Raster Effects has been lowered. Any other suggestions?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

My system is loaded (Dual 1.8 GHz G5, 1.25 GB of memory).
Uhm.. that's "loaded"? That's like the slowest G5 made with almost the minimum amount of RAM.
But.. I agree with you. Clipping masks seems to drastically slow CS4 down. Even if an object isn't really complex, but included many objects. I'm running a much faster system than you are and I have to wait around 3 to 10 seconds after any operation for some files. It's annoying. So far, I've not found any solution other than to expand and clip the masks.

  • Norton anti-virus slows down the start up time in Windows Vista

    Hi,
please help, i am being driven to distraction by the slow start up time of my laptop.
I've only had it for a few weeks and don't use it for anything beyond producing word documents etc.
It has gradually been getting slower on startup and i suspect it has something to do with the Norton anti-virus software on it and the updates for norton that i have downloaded (thinking that this was the right thing to do).
Looking at the problems and solutions log on the computer the date that it really started to slow down coincides with downloading a norton update, which i have been unable to uninstall to check if this really is the problem.
Further i have tried doing a System Restore, my laptop was not able to complete.
I am stuck on the DOS screen for 10 mins with the message:
    PXE-E32 FTFP open timeout
I have no idea what this means but the Problems and Solutions log says something about a system hang?
I have looked on the web for other anti-virus software and they all seem to have one problem or another and slow computers down on startup.
Does anyone know of a solution or do i just have to make a cup of tea when i switch my computer on and lace it with vodka till it has booted up completely!
I am a novice when it comes to using computers so would welcome any non-technical advice.
    thanks
    laura

    Hi guys
I would like to add some words about my experience using the Symantec Norton Antivirus software.
I have used this software 3 year long. It was great because it supports one of the best virus filtering options BUT it really slow downs the operating system.
I didnt use it on with Vista preinstalled notebook but on Win XP and I have to say that the notebook boot process was halted for about 30sec-1min till the whole parts of Norton Antivirus software has started It was very annoying
However, I switched to AntiVir. This is software described by marina4000 and Im really happy because the boot performance increased.
So finally I would also recommend removing this Symantec Norton Antivirus software and to switch to the other free AntiVir software ;)
    Bye

  • Wetransfer js error causes my computer to slow down

Every time I send a file via WeTransfer I end up with a js error and then my MacBook Pro slows down to a grinding halt...literally. You can hear the hard drive grinding away. Every time I try to move the mouse or select a file or drop down I get the beachball which will hang for about 10-15 seconds before anything happens. I end up having to shut down all my programs and restarting to get the laptop back to normal. This only happens with WeTransfer. Any ideas what I can do to resolve the issue other than not using WeTransfer?

First my computer turns off and goes black, then this window shows up...
After that this shows up after typing in my password on the log in page...
If I leave the HD plugged in after clicking either response the computer will just shut down again.
If I unplug the HD this window shows up explaining the problem...
