Numbers cannot open .numbers after Yosemite
Apple, oh Apple, what have you done? I've been using Pages and Numbers for the last year in lieu of the dark side, aka Microsoft. Everything has been going peachy up until Yosemite. Now, Pages cannot open a Word document and Numbers cannot open an Excel document. So, I broke down and bought Office 365. But now I have a new issue. I have a Numbers spreadsheet (.numbers) that I tried to open with, oh I don't know, the NUMBERS app and it will not open. So what am I to do? Crappy Excel 2011 certainly won't open it even after I clean the spark plugs and pull the rip cord. So how am I to open this document? I can't convert it because I can't open it in Numbers. I must have missed the warning about if you update to Yosemite kiss iWork goodbye. Oh, it's free now, but it doesn't work.
Wonder why are you writing an "ode" to Apple here? We're fellow users. If you have something to say to Apple in your menu try Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback.
Sorry to read you have had trouble with your transition to Yosemite. I have had a good experience with Numbers 3.5 on Yosemite here.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -

Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

I cannot open mail after I upgraded to leopard. I keep getting this message that "mail has unexpectadly quit. I have sent reports to apple. Does anyone have any suggestions?
5.1.4 will solve the compatibility issue, however, it is no longer available from Apple -you would have to find a copy on Ebay or similar. The current version is FCP 6 -part of Final Cut Studio 2.
Going back to Tiger will also solve it and will not cost anything, apart from the time spent reinstalling.
Unless there is some feature in Mac OS X 10.5 that you really need, this would be the easiest way to get FCP running again. -
We are using Thunderbird on WTS2008 R1
Cannot open attachment after thunderbird is launched for a short period of time. Tried to save attachment but the attachment saved actually comes with 0kb. Thunderbird works fine after restart itself, not sure if any settings can fix this?Hi Darrkon,
I suggest checking the status of the HealthMailbox on each of servers.
Also try to re-create the mailbox. You can safely delete and recreate health mailboxes.
Be aware that any local Managed Availability probes that are using the these mailboxes will fail until the Microsoft Exchange Health Manager is restarted. Once that service is restarted, it will recreate any mailboxes that it needs.

I cannot open iTunes after a recent upgrade.
The error is "Applepushservice.dll is missing. Please reinstall iTunes." Which I have now done 8 times.
I have uninstalled everything, clear the cache and rebooted.
Now what? Can I download the file from somewhere else and if so, where do I install it?

Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

We cannot open iTunes after installing it. When we click on the icon the licensing agreement comes up and we click Agree but then nothing happens. Each time we click the icon the agreement comes up. We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but we have the exact same problem.

This began after I exported the library on my Mac Book Pro to iCloud Drive, and currently have 2 libraries that I cannot access. I attempted to repair disk from Disk Utilities, but it has not fixed the issue. What can I do next?Try the following on the one on your hard drive:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database. -

[EDIT: I think my initial assumptions are incorrect, this issue seems to be occurring independently of whatever wifi driver I have loaded]
I'm finding that after suspend/resume my machine will not open any new windows. The windows that were already open continue to function. If I've left a terminal open, and attempt to open a new window I get the message:

I've found that removing the broadcom-wl driver from my system seems to fix the issue. I can't see anything particularly obvious in my dmesg. I think I need the broadcom-wl driver as I have not been able to get b43 or bcma to work for my machine.

Can anyone suggest how I might be able to get any debugging information for this module? Maybe this driver is conflicting with something else on my system, as I can't find anyone else that is seeing this same issue.
Very frustrating, my machine is a Thinkpad Edge E530. Because I ordered from New Zealand there was no option to include the alternative Intel card and I was stuck with the broadcom. Apparently there's a whitelist on the BIOS aswell which will prevent me from installing another card. -
Cannot open Editor after installation and sign in to Adobe ID
I installed elements 13 on two computers. Then as directed, I signed up for an Adobe ID.
Elements works fine on one computer, but not on the other. On the one with the problem, I can access the organizer and use the organizer, but when I try to open Editor, I am asked to sign in with Adobe ID to activate the software, which I have done many times but still nothing happens. I signed in to check my Adobe account and I have a valid account, but still cannot open the editor. It just keeps asking me to sign in, which I have done many times and still cannot open the Editor.Have you managed to update to 13.1 by loading the organizer, going to the Help menu and selecting Updates.. ?
The sign in process can be blocked by your system, you can try disabling your firewall to see if that is blocking you.
