Numbers document to fit to one page

Is there an easy way to fit my numbers spread sheet one one page? right now when i print it wants to make it 4 pages. thanks.

Oops - I spoke too soon. Open the Numbers Inspector and select the second tab. There you'll see *Content Scale* and *Page Layout*. If the Page Layout icons don't make sense, the first icon represents portrait view and the second landscape. You can also adjust scale with the Content Scale slider to fit more columns. You'll see how this affects your spreadsheet if you use Print View. When push comes to shove it may not be possible to fit it all on one page. (I hate that.)

I'll guess that you've used a page layout document & pasting created a text box. You can add more pages & create linked text boxes, but I think you'd be better of using a word processing document. In word processing documents there is a basic text layer & additional pages will be created as needed to fit the text. Take a look at the toolbar of your document. If it says "sections" for the +page icon it's a word processing document, if it says "pages" it's a page layout document.

How do I make a long table fit on one page?

I do a community newsletter, one page of which is a directory of residents. On this page, I have a table with 3 columns: name, address, and phone. There are 61 rows, which is too big to fit on an 8 ½ x 11 page. As people move in and out, I need to be able to change the name for the particular address and re-sort by name. Retaining this ability, how can I make this fit on one page? Ideally, I would be able to "break" the table into two parts of 30/31 rows each, with each part side by side on the 8 ½ x 11 page. I can't find a way to do this. Any help would be appreciated. I am working in Yosemite 10.10.1, and Pages 5.5.1. I have also created a Numbers 3.5 version of this table, but still cannot find a way to do what I want to do.

Do you have to print it, or are you sending this out via E-mail/PDF?
The fix below, should work, either way:
If you are actually not printing it, and are E-mailing/posting online, Export as PDF, and E-mail address will still be active...
If it must fit on a smaller page, for printing or for whatever reason, drag the aforementioned PDF into a 8.5 x 11 document, open Inspecter to Metrics, click to not constrain proportions, resize to fit then Export again as a PDF. The E-mail addresses will remain active. Here's screenshot of one with 61 rows, I made in less that 2 minutes as a mock-up. Links/E-mail still works.

I designed my first form today and it's two pages long. How do I get it all to fit on one page? It will be saved as a pdf.

While designing the form it will help to be in Page View. This gives a very close approximation to how your fields will appear in the resulting pdf. In the Design tab use menu View-> Page View. All page breaks will now appear as dotted lines. To aid in fitting more fields you can place forms side by side or reduce the font size. Eliminating the Header also helps.

Here is one way. View > Show Print View. At the bottom of the window is a slider control called Content Scale. Slide to the left to shrink the document.
Under File > Print... you will see a print preview that tells you how many pages the document now occupies.

How to have the values fit in one page - smartforms

I am working on smartforms. I am facing a problem, that is for one purchase order there are many line items, the line lines should not split across pages.
For eg:
for the item 4, half of the description is in the first page then its continuation goes to the second page.
That is not the way i want. suppose if the wholes values does not fit in one page it has to move to the second page , but if the value is able to fit in the first page then it can be displayed in first page otherwise it has to move to second page.

This is exact place where PAGE PROTECTION can be used.
In the attributes of the tables, there will a tab OUTPUT OPTIONS. There will a check box for PAGE PROTECTION. Check that and it will take care of the row split across pages.

I'm using version 2.1 and getting the following exception
System.InvalidOperationException: The event is too big to fit into one page. The maximum event size is '230' bytes, but the event size is '234' bytes. Try reduce the size of the event payload.
Everywhere I read tells me the maximum page size is 16K, so why am I hitting a 230 byte limit? Secondly how can I increase this to the full 16K?

That is ... unusual. I've never seen that. Can you provide some details on what your payload looks like and the query?

That's the way tables work in iWork. No option for automatic break within a cell/row. As you guessed, it's your responsibility to fix it manualy. Sometimes you can downsize the font or increase the column width to gain some room for your content. If you want constant format, you've got to do the manual breakup.
I'll add that Tables aren't always the best container for your material. I know that it's a comfortable look and feel, but when a row takes up a whole page, it may be time to rethink the design.

Can I merge from Numbers, multiple small cards on one page?

I am trying to set up a page that has business card size text fields, about 8 on a page. I would like to merge from Numbers into these cards but when I do the merge, the first page is all the same card content, then the next page is duplicates of all the next record info. Is it not possible for each "card" I am making to merge different information on one page? Maybe I am trying to do the impossible.

Yvan's script as well as the other Tips may give you sufficient options. However, since you were a bit vague about the content, but gave the impression that it is not standard business card content, you may be be interested in a specific option that I favor. I use a transfer table that arranges the Numbers content by card position before you merge. I'll give you a simple example that you can alter to fit your circumstance.
Let's say we have a single column, Column A, of data in Table 1 that we want to merge 8 cards to the page in a Pages document. We'll assume that you have a Header Row and that the data begins in Row 2.
Your Transfer Table will need eight columns (A through H), one for each card position, and a Header Row. The Transfer Table will have titles in the Header Row cells of Card1 through Card8. These titles are the ones you will use when you set up the merge in Pages.
You will Fill the body cells of the Transfer Table with the formula:
=IFERROR(INDIRECT(ADDRESS((ROW()-2)*8COLUMN()1, 1, , , "Table 1")), "")
In the Sheets Pane, drag the Transfer Table to the top of the list. You can't merge from a table unless it is first on the list for the sheet. Here's a graphic...
Save the document and you're ready to merge from it. In your Pages document, you will call for the appropriate column title in the Transfer Table in each of your eight card positions.

Set document to be seen one page at a time but print four to a page?

I would like to create a pdf (from a PowerPoint presentation) so that when it is viewed on the web it is seen one page at a time but when it is printed it prints four to a page. It is possible to put that in pdf document settings or do I have to rely on users to make the four to a page choice themselves when they print?

From the Advanced tab in the Properties you can set some Printing Defaults, but in AA9 Pro, I do not see Tiling as an option. (I believe the powers that be at Adobe thought it best to re-name this feature Banner in AA10. Perhaps it's Poster, I've only seen screen shots of AA10 Print dialog. They've sucessfully dumbed it all down in keeping with Microsoft's current philosophies. Increase font size should soon enough be replaced with "Grow Font")

How many albums could I fit in one page?

I'm using the iWeb 9. I'm trying to fit more than one album in one page. I need one page for "Home", one page for "contact Us" and one page for "Media". That media page will include several audio albums. I was only able to upload one single album per page. I have about 50 albums and according to this I need 50 pages!?

I'm trying to build something similar to this website but with a lot more audio albums, about 50 albums, some these albums contains more than 300 audio files.

It's for the church and i can't afford to pay thousands of dollars for a web builder, so I'm trying to use the iWeb and i just wanna know If I can do this.
I was able to use the "my albums" page as an audio album, it was great the only problem is that it's one album per page. I need one page titled "Media" and that page contains all the 50 albums. Could I do this?

Automatic break of row in a table when content is too large to fit on one page?

The content in some of the cells of a table is larger than the maximum space available on the page, with the result that the content at the bottom of the cell is not visible. How do I tell Pages to automatically break the row to continue on the next page? I also notice that Pages pushes a row to the following page when the content won't fit on the page with other rows but does so on a page of it's own. How do I tell Pages not to do that? I suspect it would be the same command, but I haven't found it yet. I can do this on Word....
I suppose I could manually cut the "offending" paragraphs and manually paste them into the next page, but I would rather have Pages do this for me as the content is being edited and so the quantity of material in cells are changing.
I hope I am intelligible enough for you to undertand what I'm trying to do. I'm running Pages 2009, if that matters.

Printing a JFrame -- it doesn't fit in one page

I like to print out a JFrame to a page. But the JFrame is too big to fit o a page. Does anyone know how to shrink it down and it would fit in a page? The PageFormat I am using is landscape.

PLD document is more than one page

Hello
When a document has many lines I want the recurring area for a PLD document to stop at a certain distance from the page footer but the end of report area must remain at the same distance.
Meaning a documnet with 2 pages the recurring area always stops at the same place and restart on the second page when on the 1st page the area reserved for 'end of report' data will be empty and filed up on the second page...
What shall I changed in the format of the recurring area to have it like this?

Go to Administration>System Intialization>
Print Preferences-->Set Max. Rows per page(as per y'r requirement).
In PLD normally End of Report will be empty if print documents
goes more than a page,End of Report will be displayed in
last page.
