That's correct. Dropbox does not handle Numbers 3.0 for Mac and Numbers 2.0 for iOS documents well at all. They will probably fix this.
But why are you using Dropbox for this? Numbers has built-in iCloud integration for the very purpose of syncing documents back and forth. It's much easier than using Dropbox even if Dropbox could handle the new Numbers format. And it's now quite reliable.
To enable iCloud with Numbers on your Mac:
In System Preferences>iCloud make sure you have Documents & Data turned on:
And after clicking Options, make sure you have checked Numbers.app:
On your iPad you need to make sure iCloud sync is turned on in TWO places:
Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data>Numbers
Settings>Numbers>Use iCloud
If you have entered the right iCloud credentials on your Mac and iPad, Numbers will then sync back and forth. It's much easier than putting in Dropbox and then having to Open in... , etc. You can of course still keep backup copies of your documents in Dropbox if you want.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images. -
Is it possible to open AI files created with newer version of Illustrator?
I am still using AICS2; I've noticed that files created in newer versions without PDF content will not open; is there any workaround for this? I'm missing out on lots of nice stuff....

Open them in the appropriate version. You can download a 30-day demo of Illustrator 14. You can also ask the supplier to down-save for you. -
I recently tried testing Server 2012 for installation and I had a major issue. Windows 8 also uses the same method for installation so this should also apply to Windows 8. I thought this might be helpful for other people who have the same
problem. My setup is a 1U server with no DVD drive, no hard drives, and only USB. I have a new hard drive that I wanted to install Server onto, so I put it in and ran the installer off a thumb drive. I kept receiving the following error when
I tried to format the hard drive and proceed with the installation:
"We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files."
After hours of troubleshooting, I determined my problem was I was using a thumb drive to install it, and Windows didn't like it. Some people had similar issues when similar devices were plugged in (i.e. external hard drives, SD cards, CF cards, etc).
In my case, it was the installation drive itself was a thumb drive. I ended up digging up an external DVD drive and placed the installation onto a DVD. Worked flawlessly. Now I am up and running.
I tried
the steps here to no avail.

Hi. I was trying to open some pdf files and got a message my adobe reader was deinstalled. I installed a new version of Adobe Reader for Mac and when trying to open a PDF file I am getting a message in a foreign language. Any suggestions?
Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

Last night I saved a project I've been working on for a couple of days. It's been fine all along. Today, when I went to open it, it's no longer listed in the recently opened files on startup and i get this message:
"The project was saved in a newer version of premiere pro and cannot be opened in this version."
Except it wasn't! I use Premiere CC and it's been fine all along. I can no longer open it at all...
Any thoughts? Very frustrating!One more item. In using PP CC2014 for the first time with this project, I have run into multiple issues making this project very frustrating. When adding a sequence to the master sequence, I have to render the audio each time in order to see all of the audio waves. You have to keep doing this over and over, even though you've already rendered a sequence already.
I am getting error messages when rendering the project saying there are issues compiling the movie. Getting same type error message if I try to export. I narrowed it down to two sequences keeping the program from rendering without the error messages. They each had a tiff file. I deleted them and they rendered. Not sure what this issue was with these particular files since I have other tiff files in the project. Once the rendering of all sequences was done, all the individual sequences were closed and the master was the only one open. I didn't close them. So now to edit any of the sequences I have to go back and open them.
The only thing this project has in it are titles created in PP, a few graphics, mostly tiff tiles and some jpeg and the dissolve effect. That's it. Seems like they should have done more with this version before putting it out there. Maybe that's why there are two separate applications for PP? Who knows. I will be uninstalling PP CC2014 when this project is complete. -
I recently installed a new hard drive in a MacBook 2007 and then 10.6.3. I'd like to be able to Sync iCal to the calendars I have created on other devices (new iCloud account and an ME account). I can't upgrade to 10.7 or 10.8 because the MacBook is 32 bit. Just looking for a workaround as this is not a primary device.
You should update to the latest version of Snow Leopard, 10.6.8 - you can download it here; however it's still not compatible with iCloud and though you can connect to access your email you cannot access any other of iCloud's facilities.
However some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. I've not tried it: use at your own discretion.

Are you sure you can't upgrade to Lion? It requires an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, which you may well have, though it also needs 2GB RAM so you might need to add additional RAM (might not be worth it for what you want). The published specs don't mention 32 or 64 bit. You can buy Lion by ringing the Apple Store at the number at bottom left of this page. -

I have seen previous versions mentioned in a pop up message before on iCloud.com, but I'm not really sure at all how it would help, as I couldn't get it to do anything.
The best advice I have at this time is to back up your work on your iOS device by regularly saving it to iTunes, if anything goes wrong you can then either load it into the numbers app again on the device or recover it via iTunes on your computer.
My syncs are immediate, I never get chance to see if it works in the background, sorry. -
I created a new profile to fix a crashing problem and now I can't get my bookmarks.
Creating the new profile has fixed my crashing problem and I copied the recommended files and folders from my old profile to my new one but I still can't get my bookmarks. What am I doing wrong?

I would like to create the a swatch, add it to the library and import to the swatch panel. The help pages available relate to earlier versions of Muse, which does not work with the 2014.2 release version that I have. I have created a library folder, imported the colour swatch as just 4 colours as a mulib file. I drag the four colours on to the muse page in design view but that is as far as I get. Can anyone help? How do I create a new document that is 8" X 8" and with Print as the document profile?
Page 47 in Chris Botello's Adobe Illustrator CS6 of Cengage's Illustrated Series asks this for the Independent Challenge for Unit B. "Create a new document that is 8" X 8" and with Print as the document profile." As long as its CMYK it's "Print". Right? If I go and change the size the profile goes custom. I'm a Graphic Design Student at a local university. If there are others who have used this book, Please giver me a holler. I wonder what they want there? You think they want to change the "Print" profile? That hasn't been covered. I'm on CC not CS6 but haven't found differences in that area. Probably just not written very clearly.

I edited a project on CC on one computer and saved it on my external. My friend took the same project to edit it on her computer under her own name and licence. Both of us recently upgraded to CC. But the same project that worked a few hours back on Premiere Pro CC, does not work now also on Premiere Pro CC and I received a message saying: The project was saved in a newer version of premiere pro and cannot be opened in this version." You should be able to import the xml into an earlier version.
Backward compatibility has never been there with Premiere and it is always recommended not to update in the middle of a project.

I upgraded to 5.01 and lost all my CD music files. Worse, I have had to change my computer and while I can see a list of files in Itunes on the new machine I cannot download them. What's to be done?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipad- without syncing : File>Transfer Purchases
In some countries you can redownload some itunes content.

I want to convert a series of names into a table (in either numbers or pages). The list I have has a name and then an email address in brackets, followed by a 'yes' or a 'no'. I would like to separate the list into three columns - the first containing the name, the second containing the email address and the third containing the 'yes' or 'no'.
Can you help me ?The question that needs to be answered is what is separating the columns? Is it a single tab, one or more tabs, spaces, or what? Or is it the brackets that makes the separation between the three pieces of data?
If it is always a single tab, that makes it really easy. All you have to do is find/replace the brackets with nothing (as Wayne said)
If it might be multiple tabs, you can find/replace tab-tab with a single tab and repeat that a few times until no more double-tabs are found.
If it is one or multiple spaces, that might be difficult. I'll think about this one if this is what you have. I'll ignore this possiblility for now.
If it is the brackets separating the three pieces of data, you would Find/Replace the left bracket with a tab then do the same with the right bracket. -
