Numbers iOS icon??

What does the arrow pointing up in the corner of my spreadsheets in Numbers mean? They are on all of them.
Thanks!!

If you are referring to the two arrows in the upper right hand corner, that icon represents Full Screen Mode, Tap it to display your spreadsheet in Full Screen; tap anywhere on the Full Screen to exit Full Screen mode.

  • Calculate percentage based on checkbox results in Numbers iOS

Using Numbers iOS, I've created a gradebook to keep track of my students' progress.
I have used the Checkbox format for my results, and I would like to create a formula that will calculate a percentage based off of the checked results.
What formula could I use to convert the TRUE and FALSE results from my checkbox cells into 1s and 0s, add up the score, and then convert the total score into a percentage?
I've attached a picture to help explain what it is I'm trying to do here. I'd like to keep the checkboxes cells as checkboxes and only have the results converted in the "Grade" Column.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi joey,
Here is an approach. The screenshot is from OSX but the formula should work well for you.
    The formula in F1 =COUNTIF(A1:E1,TRUE())÷5
My reporting cell is formatted as %.

If your iPhone is not recognized by iTunes when connected - not available under Devices in the iTunes source list, check this link.

For voice memos, I have include voice memos when syncing selected under the Music tab for my iPhone sync preferences with iTunes which transfers voice memos from my iPhone to my iTunes library when syncing.

  • App icon changes to generic iOS icon once installed

So, this one I can't quite make heads or tails of—while the app is downloading and installing on the iPad, I can see the app's real icon design behind the progress wheel, but once it's finished installing, the icon just turns into a generic iOS icon as if there was not one designed by the developer. This is happening specifically with the NPR One app. At first I was thinking it might have something to do with the fact that it's an iPhone app downloaded to an iPad, but I've been unable to replicate this issue with any other iPhone-only app. Thus far, I've tried deleting and reinstalling, deleting, restarting the iPad, and then reinstalling to no avail.
I've taken screen caps while installing and after:
    While installing > http://cl.ly/X2Pc
    After installing > http://cl.ly/X1ct
    Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

I also have several generic icons on my iPad running OS 8. The apps involved are fully downloaded and work fine.
I finally decided to backup to iTunes, do a factory reset and restore from the backup. That all went well, but the generic icons are still there.
I don't want to delete and reinstall the apps. One of them is Launch in which I have created many custom actions. I assume that I will lose all of those if I delete and reinstall the app.
    Any ideas?

  • IOS Icon Templates on Screen

An empty iOS Icon template appeared on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7 when I downloaded an app, created a folder then dragged the app out of the folder. When I tap and hold the empty icon to delete it, it jiggles but does not show the "x" in the upper left-hand corner to delete it. I want to remove this icon from my phone. Any suggestions?

  • What are the official names of the standard iOS icons?

I'm tearing my hair out and cursing. Not good.
All I want is a list of the proper, official names of the icons/buttons that are standard in iOS.
Specifically what set off the hunt was not knowing the name of the square with the curvy arrow pointing out to the upper right, but would be nice to find a complete list.
I'm trying to coach a friend with a new iPad and it's frustrating not to know. Even the iOS pdf's I've looked at don't give the name of the icons, they just show them in line "tap [icon image] to...".
Arrrgghh! I've Binged and Googled for nearly an hour now, been all over the net, various Apple sites but my keywords are not generating sought list!
    Help! Thanks!
    dn

    gdgmacguy;
thanks for the quick reply and idea.
That's the pdf I'm referring to. It's 163 pages, so I scrolled through the intro part, looked in the Safari part, scrolled to the end to look for an index or glossary or table and didn't find anything. Training-wise, it makes sense that they put the icon inline with the text, but I'm just hitting keyword block and giving up for the night, thought to float the search to others who may have clearer heads.
First reference I see to this particular icon is page 14, where it appears inline, unnamed. The home button is named and further referred to as [a square icon with rounded corners]. Other icons are either named or unnamed in the UG text.

  • My Numbers document icons have turned black. Help?

The document icons for my Numbers documents have turned a horizontal-streaked black color. (Kind of like the output from a very defective copy machine.) I have tried resaving the documents both without and with changes, but the icons don't change. Quick Look and Cover Flow work OK, but in the icon view the icons are ugly black. How can I restore the icons to showing the tiny previews of the documents?

    Hello
ctrl + click on the icon of such a file.
In the contextual menu, select "Show Bundle's contents"
You will open the package and see
two subfolders: one named "Contents" and one named "QuickLook"
    Double click this late one.
You will see a jpeg icon entitled "Thumbnail.jpg"
    Double click on it.
If it displays sadly it's that the Thumbnail.jpg file is corrupted. Trash it.
If it displays correctly you are encountering a problem with the system, not with the document.
And alas, in this case, I have no idea.
Trashing the Launch Services databases would be meaningless as you are not trying to display the standard icons but the thumbnail one.

  • Numbers iOS 8 crashes on scroll

Awesome update!  Scrolling crashes the app every time after the update.  My wife is a Kindergarten teacher, and she used Numbers while testing her students.  It's totally unusable now.  She started inputting data and scrolled and it crashed and she lost it all.  It crashes on any scrolling after the update.  Yes, the spreadsheets use checkboxes.

    Hi Obiton,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I can imagine that would be frustrating, but I do want to point out the article below because the troubleshooting steps in it will resolve most issues like the Numbers issue you described.

  • Numbers iOS mac

Just DL'd Numbers and Pages for IOS. I want to be able to sync and work with my Mac iWork files as IOS file and back. Seems the only way to move files to and from iCloud is through an upload/download process in a Web browser. Am I missing something or is this really the only way!
If I'm limited this way, this is SO NOT GOOD.

    And some screengrabs:
    1. View to save from MBP to iCloud:
    2. View of the most recent Numbers files added to i Cloud:
    3. Finally, screenflash of iPhone:
Note the times. Untitled files are missing, as many others.

  • Where is the "Mark for Move" command in Numbers iOS?

In Numbers for iOS running on a iPad 2. I have a sum total of a column in one table on one sheet and need to create an alias or active copy of it in another table on another sheet. How do I do that? In Numbers '09 you can use the "mark for move." Move the sum total to the new location and then just duplicate it again.

Ah, Delete key!  That's easier. All these years of going to the contextual menu for 'Clear Contents' in Excel.
But now I know the Delete key in Excel does the exact same thing as in Numbers.  Thanks.

  • Numbers App Icon Missing

I was copying the app to another computer, but it got interrupted. Now Numbers has no App Icon. Just the default one. How can I get the app icon back, without reinstalling iWork?
Any and All Help is appreciated.

Note that the iWork '08 installer requires that you install its applications to your current startup drive. This implies that the installer adds to or modifies system files in addition to installing the application packages, although Apple never states that explicitly.
With this in mind, my recommendation would be to install the application only as the installer requires, & not by copying iWork's individual application packages from mac to Mac. It may make no appreciable difference, but why take the chance that sometime in the future it will lead to problems with one of the iWork apps or documents?
Also, it would be a good idea to read the license terms & make sure that you are not violating them by installing the apps on more than one computer.

  • Add numbered graphics/icons to a pdf floor plan document

I have a floor plan of my company's 5th floor (in pdf format) and as their sysadmin I need to add small little graphics representing numbers in little circles or triangle(those little circles or triangle, I can pick them either from another powerpoint or pdf document that has them already / or from those numbering icons you see in gif or jpeg format around the web/ they are basicly meant to describe printer 1, printer 2, fax 1, fax2, ..etc) throughout the pdf plan. I opened my pdf floor plan using Acrobat Writer 7, and the closer I get is to add notes (via the "Add Note" function) which actually get me the little triangle or circle I need but...I can't put numbers in them...(I know I can edit the note and add ..let's say 1,2 or 3 in it's editing text....but those numbers are never displayed in the triangle /circle....you see them only if you move the cursor over the triangle/circle note). I also have the menu TOOLS > Drawing Markups but the problem is the same here: I can add the drawing markups (oval, circle..etc) but cannot get the numbers displayed inside of them. The other closet way is Via the menu TOOLS>DRAWING MARKUPS, TEXT BOX TOOLS: The problem here is that I get my number but in a square box. I would want that number to be in a circle and a triangle instead. PS: I could leave without the copy and paste of the numbering circles or triangle from MS powerpoint/other pdf document if I could just get those numbers in small circles or triangles within the pdf document.

You can make custom stamps for each of the things you want and then apply them to the document. That will definitely give you the control you want of how it looks, though may be a bit tedious to setup.

  • Numbers IOS 7.1.2     file is away

Hallo I want to know how to recuperate a file in numbers . Thank you
    martine

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • AIR for iOS: Icons & Launch Image question

    Launch Image:
AIR has been so changed since I used it last time, I can't really figure out anything, documentation is somewhat confusing to me. Could you anyone of you please answer my question? To some, it could be pretty simple.
My app is exclusively for iPads, works only in Lanscape mode, so I've included 2 launch images, which name: Default.png & [email protected] (I named them after reading this: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WS901d38e593cd1bac1e63e3d129907d2886-8000.html)
When I copied final .ipa file to my iPad 2, well, its launch image appeared in Portrait mode! So, I'm totally confused as how many launch images I need to provide and what should be their name? I use Flash Professional CC to publish, I've included all the launch images in Publishing settings, so is there any order I need to follow or order in Included Files just does not metter? Please keep it in consideration that this app is only for iPads (specified in Publishing dialouge box) and works only in Landscape mode (both, left and right).
    Icons:
I followed the above mentioned webpage and provided Flash Professional CC these icons: 29x29, 48x48, 50x50, 58x58, 72x72, 100x100, 144x144 & 1024x1024. I know 50x50 icon is created by AIR from 48x48, yet I provided it and 512x512 icon is only for development purpose, we need to manually provide it while uploading it to App Store, so I did not provide it.
When I copied final .IPA to iTunes, iTunes does not show App Icon as it used to show for development-ipa. So, I just want to confirm is it normal or I missed something?
Lastly, I copied final .IPA to my iPad 2, when I started it, I noticed that first it show the 'launch image' in Portrait mode (as mentioned above) and after may be 1-2 seconds, the launch image gone and it showed blank (black) screen untill my app started. The blank black screen showed up for 3-4 seconds. Is it normal?
    Thanks.

    Hey Yusuf,
"Default.png" is a portrait mode image for iPhone, iPhone 3 and iPhone 3GS.
    For iPad 1, 2 & Mini you will need a 1024x768 image called "Default-Landscape.png".
For iPad 3 and 4 you will need a 2048x1536 "[email protected]".
So all you have to do is include these launch images in the publish settings and that's it, there is no special order and you do not require any other "Default" images other than those two. This should also resolve your blank screen problem.
It's normal for release builds not to show their App icon in iTunes, you'll notice that when you right click and press "Get Info" on an app you should be able to see the icon.
    Hope that helps,
    O.
