Numbers, Pages etc gone after reinstall? I have to pay now?
Hello, I just reste my mac and used an Apple id that I had even before I purchased my new Macbook Pro Retina 15 in November 2013.
I had Keynote, Numbers etc all for free with Mavericks. After my reset its all gone? How and why?
Im so frustrated with Mac its ridicolous. Software errors etc with Mavericks forcing me to reset and now I los my Keynote etc?
FYI, iLife and iWork do not come with Mavericks or any other OS. They come bundled with the Mac, not the OS.
Upgrading to Mavericks should not have deleted the apps. If by reset you mean you erased the drive, then yes they would have gone away.
To get them from the App Store, you would need to use the AppleID you used originally to register the Mac.
I remember reading another post like this and the poster clicked on the purchase button anyway and it downloaded them for free. Either way, I'd contact the App Store.

If you had iPhoto version 9.5.1 then you can reinstall from the app store under purchases
If you had any version of iPhoto '11 then you can install for free from the App store
If you had any earlier version of iPhoto (iPhoto '09 version 8.x.x) or older then you need to purchase iPhoto '11 version 9.x.x from the app store
If you had iPhoto '08 (version 7.x.x) or older then you also need to download and run the iPhoto library upgraded prior to launching the new iPhoto

You do have to pay, but you're not paying again. iWork apps for OS X are not the same as the iOS versions.

But the IOS version is universal to both iPhone and iPad, so you don't have to pay again for a separate iPad version. -
My iPad 1 is very unstable. Many Apps simply crash after opening. There is ample storage available.I have restored the iPad twice now and still it is unstable.
Is this a lack of backwards compatibility because no-one writes apps for IOS 51.1. and the original iPad anymore? not even Apple, as the documents and sheets I create on my Mac are incompatible with my iPad now.
My naievete tells me that this is simply Apple expecting us to upgrade to later levels of hardware. If so, very disappointing for an Apple fan. Seems your App developer approvals (even your own apps) do no require compatibility with anything but IOS 6 or later.There are various things to make your iPad more stable. You can try deleting all apps from the multitasking bar; do a reset ie hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears; Settings > General > Reset all Settings.
If you had the previous version of iPages (version 09) on your Mac before upgrading to Pages 5.2, your Mac should still have that version in Applications, which is still compatible with your version of Pages on your iPad.
If you don't have that version, you can 'Export to Pages 09' which is still compatible with iOS 5.1.1. -
Iweb pages gone after reinstall-but websites OK
I had to reinstall the OS fresh and it was backed up. However the only thing I lost was the iweb websites in the program. If I log into .mac account, the websites are still there and I can navigate to them on the web. So they are there and working properly.
Now I need to add some photos to these websites that I don't see in iWeb any longer. How do I do that? Can I export these pages into iweb? Can I download something from my .mac account?
What do I do? My wife is going to kill me!!!! Help. please!!iWeb stores all of the files, images, movies and text in one package file.
Since you didn't back up the User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2 file (a package) your online files can't be edited and you must recreate them. -
Until this gets resolved we can't access iPhoto or my iPhoto library. Unfortunately didn't back up my photos before we "upgraded" to Yosmite. Any ideas?
You need to update the information regarding what Mac this is and what version of OS X you're running.

Iphoto gone after reinstall and can't install it again.
I've reinstalled OS and after that iphoto and all the programs from ilife are gone.
I've only got an applications install disc (on the disc: time machine, mail, dock, facetime etc.)

Pages crashes - even after reinstall
I have the latest Pages version (5.1) and I am running Mavericks 10.9.1.
I wanted to continue working on a Pages document, but Pages crashes during startup.
It won't open.
I have deleted the app, emptied the trash and downloaded a fresh copy from the App Store. Still the same happens.
Does Pages keep a local "settings" folder on my machine that I might need to delete?
I suspect something corrupt has been stored in some local folder that is not removed during uninstall, and still is causing trouble after I reinstalled a fresh Pages from the App Store.

The solution:
Open the Terminal window.
Write the commands following commands to rename the bundle com.apple.iWork.Pages to com.apple.iWork.Pages_old:
cd Library/Containers/
mv com.apple.iWork.Pages com.apple.iWork.Pages_old
Now you can start Pages without it crashing.
Thanks to Pages 5.2 keeps crashing. -
Dear Apple Lovers,
I am using ipad 2 Wifi + 3G 64 GB, I had updated my ipad from ios 4.1.3 to ios 7.0.1 three week ago.
After that All aplication and all file can be opened properly well.
The problem came after I updated Keynote, Pages & Numbers, all files could not be opened & all file name is change from alphabetical to numerical. All file content 2 type of file, 1 BuildVersionHistory and the other one is index.
if i open the file ... spreadsheet can't be imported... the file format is invalid
or in Pages...
document can't be imported... the file format is invalid...
If I want to share that document via icloud ... Can't Send Spreadsheet.. To send this spreadsheet, open it in Numbers for iOS first.
In other case... I create a new file in Pages, Numbers or Keynote.. but all the new files can't view in Tab Apps when my ipad is connected to my mac pro via iTunes. If I create a file using other aplication (example using DocToGo), a new file that is created can be seen directly in iTunes Tab Apps DocToGo.
in this morning when i open Numbers all my files are disappear including new file without the reason at all, please give me the best solution. I need your help very very urgent.... since my working datas is very very important.

AsdansThere may well be circumstances where documents in the cloud doesn't work for some people.
I myself have projects like you do, however our circumstances may be different or I may simply organise myself in a different way.
I tend to use documents in the cloud for working documents in progress, once they are completed they are then filed away in a more appropriate location. I do not try to use documents in the cloud for syncing my entire work history. -
ICloud synchronization no longer works with Numbers, Pages etc.
Since the Yosemite update my docs in Pages, Numbers, are no longer synchronized through iCloud . Can anyone help? It used to be so easy.. Really annoying, iCloud versus iCloud drive. Documents that are on my mac are no longer on my iphone in the app Numbers.

AppleWorks is gone after reinstall of OS

I recently tried and failed to upgrade my iBook G4 to Leopard. So I have reinstalled Panther anyway, with no issues and all is well - except AppleWorks appears to be gone! I did the reinstall from the 2 CDs i got with my machine. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I now have no word processor application on my iBook. could i download it from Apple?
ThanksI'm assuming you did an "Erase and Install" of Panther. Not surprisingly, it erased everything that isn't part of the OS. AppleWorks came bundled with certain machines, but was never part of the OS. The chances are very good that AW is on one of the two CDs that came with you iBook. If a little searching of the installer doesn't find it for you, I'm sure someone here will tell you how to find it. I don't have an iBook, so I don't know.
I now have no word processor application on my iBook.
You also already have a word processor on your iBook called TextEdit.

If your Mac is fairly old and the 10.2 disk that came with the computer was your original System Restore disk, then Tiger must have been purchased separately and Software Update was used later to upgrade to 10.4.10. But the Tiger upgrade would not have included any iApp's. Buying iLife '05 or iLife '06 would be needed to give you all the iLife App's. If you bought or received your Mac used, then someone did not include the Tiger and iLife software packages with it. If this is the case, the only way to recover your programs is to buy iLife.
If your Mac is fairly new, then your System Restore disks should contain Tiger 10.4.? and include all the iLife '06 App's. Again, if you bought or received your Mac used, then you may be missing the original System Restore disks that came with it. If this is the case, the only way to recover your programs is to buy iLife.
Either way, If you do not have a system backup, then the only way to recover your missing App's is to buy iLife. Also, if you want to risk losing Tiger 10.4, do not attempt to run the installation program from the Jaguar 10.2 disk.
