Numbers spreadsheet sharing on same computer.

If I create a spreadsheet in numbers under my account can my wife access the same spreadsheet with her login and make changes that will reflect on both sign ons?

I already got this behavior but as it was while I was doing a few tests, I don't remember if it was under 10.5.8 or with a 10.6.x system.
To be honest I didn't really understood.
Some times I wonder if it's a way to protect docs from being open and edited simulateously by two users.
I know that you can't run two accounts simultaneously on a single machine but the problem strikes when a doc is in a shared folder on a network.
If I remember well, I wrote a script available on my iDisk (address below in my signatue)
For_iWork:iWork '09:for_Numbers09:fromDoc#1toDoc#2.dmg.zip
for this kind of situation.
It extract the contents of the Read oly doc and insert it in the read_write one.

You need to use the Express in router mode.. I think you are trying to use it in bridge mode.. but you need to give us a lot more details.. screenshots might help more than anything.

Password-protected Numbers spreadsheet only opens in computer that created it

I recently password-protected a spreadsheet file on my iMac. It works just fine when I open it on my iMac. However, if I try to open that same file from my MacBook Air, it rejects the password. It says that the password is incorrect. When I try to open that same file on my iPhone 5s, I experience the same outcome. Then I go right back to my iMac, open the exact same file and type in the same exact password, and it works just fine again!! Any ideas?

Sounds like a corrupted plist (preferences) file.
Quit Numbers, then do the following:
The file indicated in the discussion linked in Ian's post is: com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
You'll find it at:
Macintosh HD > Users > yourusername > Library > Preferences > com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
With versions of OS X after 10.6, the User Library is hidden. To get to your Library, start in Finder.
Go to the Go menu, press and hold the option key, and select Library. Double click Preferences, then locate and select com.apple.LaunchServices.plist and drag that file to either the Desktop or the Trash.
Then try double-clickig a .numbers file.

Can multiple users work on a Numbers spreadsheet at the same time

We want to acess and edit a spreadsheet with two users in different locations using iPads. Not at exactly the same time but without having to close out of the app like Excel.

I've seen changes I've made on my iPad show up on the same document that's been open all the time on my Mac, which suggests it might be possible. However, I've also had a small number of notifications that documents on different devices are not in sync with each other. So while it might have the potential to work, I'd be inclined to think it would be quite unreliable.

Problems when I sync yahoo contacts w/ 2 iphones sharing the same computer

My son and I both have iPhones and we have 1 PC. We both have separate yahoo accounts. When I try to sync his phone, it picks up all of my yahoo contacts which is a problem since this is my work phone. Before syncing his phone, I configure his contacts to his yahoo account but it still happens every time. So then I have to delete all of my contacts off of his phone and from his yahoo account. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am sure there is an easy answer to this dilema.

The solution is simple: both of you should establish separate user accounts on your computers, and synchronize your iPhones to your individual accounts.

Sharing Numbers spreadsheet with others so they can make slight changes?

I created a Numbers spreadsheet and saved it to iCloud with a password. I want to share it with 2 other people and allow them to make simple changes to the spreadsheet.
1. Do they need to log in to iCloud to make changes to the spreadsheet that I shared?
2. How do they save their changes after making them? I just checked the link created when sharing the spreadsheet and I didn't see a save button in the browser.
3. Which browsers will others be able to view/edit the spreadsheet in? Will it also work on PC?

You can create a "master" path and then link all of the other paths to that one with an expression. You don't even need to write the expression yourself; you can just Alt-click the Mask Path property stopwatch for a child mask and drag the expression pick whip to the master Mask Path property. You can link the paths of shape layers the same way.

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.

correct credential but unable to access that. If i re-share the folder then we are access it but when we are restarted the system then same problem is occurring.
I have checked IP,DNS,Gateway and more each & everything is well.
Pls suggest us.

According to your description, my understanding is that the same shared folder can be accessed by name, but can’t be accessed be IP address and asks for credentials.
Please try to enable the option below on the device which has shared folder:
Besides, check the Advanced Shring settings of shared folder and confrim that if there is any limitation settings.

Thank you Joe - I tried this but it's only showing a teensy amount of music - the stuff on the second users account as opposed to the giagntic library on the 'main' account. I actually went to a Genius Bar and they said that apple doesn't really want you to share music between accounts - parents don't want to hear their kids music etc. Which seemed strange, but it might be the case sadly Thanks anyway!

No, home sharing will not work for two different users on the same computer on a Windows based system as it requires iTunes running. It is not possible in Windows for both users to be running iTunes at the same time.
Instead, simply use the File > Add Files/Folder option in iTunes to add the content you want to your iTunesLibrary. Do the same for your husbands iTunesLibrary under his user.

Sharing iTunes library with another user on the same computer

My husband and I use the same iMac and have the same iTunes login, but have different user accounts on our computer.
When I download things from iTunes, they only show up in my library and do not show up in his. In addition, the two libraries are not syncing. I want everything in my library to also be in his.
I have tried home sharing, and that is not working. I'm guessing that's because the two accounts are on the same computer -- rather than two computers on the same network. The only thing I can figure out is to manually drop the files in the shared folder. But it has to be easier than this.
Please help.

Home sharing to Apple TV with multiple users on same computer

I have two different users on the same computer. To facilitate sharing their music and movies to eachother, they are each using Home Sharing with the same Apple ID. As long as both users remain logged in, this works with no problem. Except for Apple TV. The Apple TV can see each library, so they both show up in the list under Computers, but only one is accessible. It's either the first one that broadcast itself, or the first one that Apple TV connected to, I'm not sure which. But, once that's established, the second library will remain in the Computers list, but any attempt to connect to the library will fail. It appears there is a limitation that Apple TV can only connect to a single library per physical computer, even though it can tell there are multiple libraries there.
Does anyone have any idea how to work around this without consolidating the libraries? Being able to connect to multiple libraries is the goal, not consoludating them.

I don't have that set up anymore, but used to. I had no problems sharing from either library. Of course it may have changed since I used it, but wouldn't see why.
