Numbers Templates Forums

Hello everyone.
I want to announce a new resource that I hope everyone here will find useful. Many of you have visited my blog where I have shared some of my Numbers templates, as well as some of the tips that I have picked up on this site.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to create as many templates as I would like due to time constraints, and frankly not being that talented.
I would also really like to see some of the stuff that users here are creating! To that end, I am launching a set of forums on my site today. My hope, is that it will help fill a gap that is missing right now between users creating cool templates with Numbers and those that want to use them, but maybe do not have the skills or time to create them.
I know that there is at least one other site that allows users to submit templates, but the downside to that model is that what you get is static. With these forums, I hope to see the improvements the creators make as they advance their design, and receive feedback and requests from other users.
OK, so that is the ideal. Right now, I have one user (me), and virtually zero content. I hope that the users of this forum will sign up, and share some of their work. Thanks.
The forums are located here:

Please reply if you have questions, or e-mail me: contact[at]numberstemplates.com

Jason,
I actually sent you an e-mail this morning inviting you to check it out before I linked from the homepage (I sent it to the address in your profile). I really enjoy your posts, and was hoping that you could contribute on the new forum.
I don't have a problem with posting that stuff on NumbersTemplates, then linking from here. I have setup two forums thus far: 1) Templates: For sharing templates and 2) Question and Answers: For asking and answering questions similar to what we have here.
I want to expand the forums as needed, but didn't want to add a bunch of topics with zero users. It would make the place look even more empty. I don't want to dilute this board, but I do have a lot of flexibility in what I can do with my forums. For instance, creating a sticky post dealing with time functions, so the same questions are not repeated again and again. I could also create separate forums for things like GUI automation, or specialized formulas.
Again, I love this board, I just want to create a resource for sharing things a little more broadly. I plan on continuing to contribute here as well as at the NumbersTemplates forums.
The main motivation here is to give folks a chance to showcase their work. I can probably only do one or two new templates per week (sometimes less), and those that I do produce may not be of interest to a wide audience.
I've also found myself being more interested in the technical details and helping out with problems here than with producing generic templates. I'm working on a function reference now, and I'm thinking about making some screen casts. With that in the hopper, I'm afraid the site will stagnate.
Also, I'm not in it for a monetary gain. I do run adsense on my site, but that doesn't even cover hosting. Add to that the $85 I spent last night for a vBulletin license, and the time I put into the site, and I'm not gaining anything. This really is just a hobby and I enjoy helping people out.

  • Pages (or Numbers) Template Cannot Be Opened From Outside the Application

Ever since the upgrade to Mavericks, I cannot open a Pages (or Numbers) template without being asked.....
Do you want to add this custom template to the Template Chooser?  Then my only options are Cancel or Add to Template Chooser.
If I cancel, it won't open anything.
But this template is already in my Template Chooser.
So the only way to open a template in Pages (or Numbers) is to open the application first, and then click "New", and choose the template.
I can't figure out a way to open the template from outside the application, which is very very handy, rather than having to open the application every time that I want to access a template.
How can I open a template simply by clicking on it?

Yes, the problem is that opening the template from outside of the application will not open the application, showing the document.  I only get this....

Put your Pages or Numbers document on your desktop and open it by double-clicking it, and you'll understand.  You can't do it, even if the template is in your template chooser.
The only way to do this now is to open the application, select "New", and the select the template.  So you cannot open a template from outside the application....only from within.

    Hi everyone,
    I find the answer myself.
Go tot the finder, select Go in the menu, push the alt button and there it is.
De library is now visible and you can open it.
Find Application support > iWorks > Pages or Numbers > Templates > My Templates.
    Remove the template, thats it.

  • Numbers templates

Anyone know of a numbers template for a check register?

There is one built-in in Numbers '09. Otherwise, look at iWork Community. The last time I looked there was a very simple one & a very, very complex one.

  • Numbers Template Deleting

Hi - I'm stuck on deleting my own created template in Numbers (which is no longer required).  I've researched a few answers on here and I understand the route but I don't have 'iWork' under Application Support to search for the custom template to 'drag & trash"?

Numbers stores those you created & saved as templates in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Numbers > Templates > My Templates. The door to the user's Library is hidden in Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your users Library will appear about halfway down the list.

  • Numbers template

does anyone have a simple "numbers"  template for rental properties?

If you're wanting to delete a template you created & saved, Numbers stores those you created & saved as templates in HD > Users > [your account] > Library > Application Support > iWork > Numbers > Templates > My Templates.

  • Numbers Template Chooser Dialog Tweak?

In reference to the Numbers Template Chooser Dialog box...
Does anyone know if there is a way to add your recent files to the "Side-Bar?"
Here is a picture of the Template Chooser...

    Hi RokeyLounge,
My understanding of Template Chooser is for templates not personal files.
I think you're wanting when opening Template Chooser to see your files. When Template Chooser opens close it go to File > Open Recent. Or in Preferences have Number open to a blank worksheet then choose File > Open Recent.
If you'd want them readily accessible create a folder putting your files into it (or alias) then put that folder on the side bar of the Finder.
I hope I've correctly understood your question.
    Sincerely,
    RicD

  • Numbers templates for SPC activities?

Does anyone have Numbers templates for working with SPC data? Can you recommend something to use with Numbers?

Thanks for the offer. I am just investigating the SPC process because of a work related project. Never imagined that I would find the process fun. Problem is that being a newbie I am not sure of the specific needs.
I was trying to add an "upper limit, lower limit and average" to a X-bar control chart. I created the table with my measurements, calculated  the upper and lower control limits and average. I could not add these to the chart so I create a line using "shape" - lines are not too exact. Prefer to create these using the calculations.

  • Help saving Numbers Template created on laptop to multiple IPads by email

I have created numerous templates in numbers that I have saved as templates on my laptop.  I need to email these templates to several iPads and save the template as a template that can be chosen.
I have been unsuccessful so far in saving them as a template.  All I have been able to accomplish is saving them as a file to be duplicated and renamed.  This works but I would like to have a more professional setup for my IPads rather than a workaround.

take a look at this site regarding templates:

  • Creating Numbers Template with pre-made formulas

    Hello,
I am trying to to create a 'Numbers template'. But I need to divide in by zero and when I remove the numbers in order to save the templates I see this ugly red sign (which creates all the later ugly red signs) in the spreadsheet. Since this is a template, is there any way to make Numbers stop complaining about not funding numbers in the cells?
    Thank you,
    PA

    Atma,
In cases like this I like to test the source cell to see if there is anything there before using the data.
    Here is a simple example:
    =IF(A>0, B/A, "-")
This says: If A is greater than zero, divide B by A, else display a hyphen. This will eliminate that error condition.
You might still get your errors in subsequent expressions using that result, but I can't tell from here.

  • I need a Numbers Template for Event registration

I am hosting a Women's Retreat that has people registering, paying for tickets, etc.  Is there a numbers template that would allow me to collect that data and show it in a nice format?

Numbers does not have anything specifically called an event registration template.  There are several options:
    1) search using your favorite search engine (google found quite a few hits when I searched using "Event Registration Template"
    2) build your own in Numbers
Option (2) shouldn't be too difficult.
    It could look something like:

  • Numbers template for bed & breakfast

Does anyone know of a good source of templates for Numbers that may have something suitable for running a bed & breakfast?
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a general search on "numbers templates"? You can also use almost any excel template that does not include macros.

  • Numbers templates for baseball

Are there any templates I can use in Numbers to keep track of baseball statistics? I don't need anything as sophisticated as the commercial software, just a template that calculates batting average, on base percentage, ERA.

    Welcome to the Apple forums
Take a look at iWork Community for user-contributed templates.
A Google search for Excel templates may find what you need. You may need to change the file extension to .xls or .xlsx for Numbers to open them. The iWork apps don't recognize Office template extensions.

  • Looking for Numbers template for Estate Administrator's recordkeeping?

I am the administrator of a relative's estate and need to do formal recordkeeping of the financial aspects of the probated estate.
I use Apple Numbers for creating budgets and other kinds of recordkeeping, but cannot find a template that I feel confident is appropriate for this task.
Does anyone know if there is an existing template that would work for this as is or that would be adaptable for the task? I also need to include reports on a small number of stock holdings until the probate process is complete and the estate assets are distributed between the beneficiaries.

Thank you Jerry. I appreciate your efforts. Because I try not to waste people's time on forums, I had already exhaustively researched this topic and when that wasn't fruitful posted here.
I found the same form you shared a link to, and related ones, from NH. Their stuff is helpful. I've also already visited my state's and county's related websites, which also share info and forms but they don't share any forms for or adequate details about reporting.
The NH info can be a guide. My real interest is templates to make recording everything and creating reports efficient and easier to keep up with, especially ones that will self-calculate.
In the template arena, it seems estate recordkeeping isn't on the radar. I couldn't find any Microsoft templates either. It's too bad, because lots of people have to take on this task and it's not a small one by any stretch.
