Numbers will not allow me to edit an excel spreadsheet I have
Can someone please help me before I scream.
I have set up a spreadsheet using excel on my boyfriends computer as numbers would not allow me to produce the graphs that I required. Long story.
Since completing the spreadsheet, I have saved it on a memory stick and also emailed it to myself. When I open up the excel spreadsheet in numbers, some of headings and labels have moved. I want to tidy them up, however, every time I click on the text boxes, or any other part of the graphs, nothing will happen.
I am trying to finish a dissertation and am about to scream as numbers won't let me carry out such a simple task.
After looking at the help pages, it states that excel graphs are compatible with numbers, but this doesn't seem to be the case for me.
Someone please help me.

Its such a pain as my Macbook Pro only has numbers and pages, and my partner has word and excel, but because I'm completing my dissertation on my laptop, anything do on excel, which I then have to cut and put into my dissertation (completed on pages) throws it all out.
If only Apple and Microsoft would comply with each other, it would make my life a whole lot easier!

If I receive an e-mail with an excel attachment on it or an attachment that has 'dat.' at the4 end of it, the attachment won't open when I try to open it. Most frustrating.
To get Thunderbird to open a dat Text file file using Excel.
Right click on attachment and choose 'Open'
A window opens asking what to use.
select 'Open with'
click on the drop down selection and choose 'Other'.
A small window opens showing a selection.
If Microsoft Excel is not in the list, click on 'Browse' button
a window opens showing your 'Program files'
If your OS is Win8.1 and 64bit version and Office 2010 32bit version, to find Office programs the default path may say:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ This is the 64bit version path for Win8.
It is also the standard directory if using Vista 32bit.
So if your OS is Win8.1 64bit version you need to choose the 32bit path:
C:\'''Program Files (x86)'''\Microsoft Office\
locate and click on 'Microsoft Office'
click on 'Office 12' folder
The number eg: '12' depends on the version: I have 2007
so if you use 2010 then it will be in Office 14 folder - list is below to choose correct folder.
* 9 = Office 2000
* 10 = Office 2002/XP
* 11 = Office 2003
* 12 = Office 2007
* 14 = Office 2010
Now you should see 'Excel.exe' , This is the file you are looking for.
Select 'Excel.exe' and click on 'Open'
If you want Thunderbird to remember this and use it each time to open dat file, select the checkbox 'Do this automatically for files like this from now on.
click on Ok
This will now open a dat file from the attachments in an email using excel.
It will be listed in Tools-Options-Attachments-Incoming tab. -
i have acrobat standard and it will not allow me to edit.. every file i go to open it says "there is a active file open and must close in acrobat" other times it says account cannot be validated after I have already paid for it.. please advise

The account cannot be validated error was due to a glitch on our activation server that has been fixed now.
Please try using acrobat now and check if you are still facing the problem.

I changed my AppleId online and I cannot get the Id changed on my iPhone 4. Settings will not allow me to edit the existing Id. ???
To change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. -
ITunes will not allow me to edit any song information
Not sure why but iTunes will not allow me to edit any song information in iTunes library.
Just a few questions first. When did the problem begin & did you install/change anything at that time? Are the songs greyed out and do they play okay?

I was having the exact same, irritating, problem. The only way I was able to work around this lovely little quirk was to redeem the code on my iPod touch. I would guess it would also work on any apple touch pad device. I only had to input the code once and it began downloading. I was then able to go back to my iTunes on PC and it began downloading there too.
*Sidenote: Be sure to uncheck the "Download HD when available" option.

PodcastMachine will not allow me to edit my feed
I started a podcast four weeks ago, using PodcastMachine's free service. I quickly outgrew their free service's bandwidth requirements.
I now have my own service space, and a new RSS feed, but PodcastMachine will not allow me to add the "itunes: new rss" tag to my existing feed, and they have not responded to my requests for support.
Assuming they don't get back to me, is there any way to submit the new feed to iTunes, or am I going to be forced to delete the existing podcast and resubmit it and simply lose the existing subscribers?
I appreciate any advice and apoligize if this has been answered elsewhere. I could not find a similar request via a forum search.

- TonyThe 'itunes:new-feed-url' method is the normal way of moving a feed. The Apple Tech Note on the subject also mentions setting up an HTTP 301 redirect on the server (see here) but though I'm not familiar with PodcastMachine I would rather assume that they host the feed, so you won't be able to do that either.
In this situation you have only two options, neither very satisfactory. The first is to abandon the old feed altogether. You should get the old podcast removed from the Store - instructions here - and submit your new feed as an entirely new podcast. You will probably need to make a small change in the title, as a bug in the Store software may tell you that the podcast has already been submitted: and of course you will lose any subscribers or comments.
The other option is somewhat uncertain. iTunes Support is notoriously unhelpful, often sending back form answers which often don't deal with the actual problem, or referring the questioner to the Discussions Forum (which may have sent the questioner there in the first place): however it has been known for someone to persuade Support to shift their podcast to a new URL, so it's worth trying. It's probably just a matter of luck who you get. To contact iTunes Support, go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. -
My iPhone will not allow me to use the slide feature. I have restarted the phone several times. any suggestions?
Try rebooting. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPhone should restart. See if you can use it when it comes back up.

Pressing the Home button twice does not show you what apps are running. It shows you what apps were recently used.
Download a free app from the App Store. Once it downloads, your other apps should work properly again. -

And if you have anti virus software installed, disable that before trying to access the App Store.
If you have Litlte Snich installed, that can prevent access to the App Store.
Keep in mind, you can't update your existing apps from another Apple ID if you create a new account. -
I recently changed my email address and updated my Apple account profile to reflect the new address. This changed my Apple ID for signing into Apple store and making purchases as expected. I am however undable to get iCloud account to recognize the new Apple ID. I have gone in through settings on my iPhone and in iCloud Account Information attempted to change the Apple ID but the field is muted and will not permit editing. I have looked all through Support in iTunes Store and cannot find any information on how to get iCloud to accept my new Apple ID.

Have you moved your iTunes library recently? Are you using a different profile?
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownership from an account with administer privileges.
Also in iTunes properties tap the read-only check box until it clears, then click OK. When prompted apply the change to the folder and all files and subfolders.

Itunes 11.0.3.42 on pc will not allow me to edit/update iphone playlists.
I upgraded to itunes 11 on my pc and have not been able to edit/update my iphone 5 playlists. They appear grey-ed out in itunes. I got the dreaded message telling me the iphone was synced to another itunes library--though it never has been. I went through the pain of

And no change. I still get that 'synced with another itunes library' message. I still cannot control my iphone music from itunes. Any ideas?I had a similar problem when I updated itunes. All of the music disappeared from the phone and none of the songs in the itunes library were playable ( they all had "!"beside them) It turned out that either the mapping for an external network drive was lost for itunes and that drive had the music or the external drive went off line from the network. Once I got the drive back on the network. and restarted itunes I could then sync the music back to the phone.

I synced Firefox with my Droid Razr Maxx Firefox. Now Google Calendar hangs on "Loading" and will not function. Clearing cache and cookies does not help. Works the same on any computer Firefox. But Gmail works fine and Calendar is okay under other browsers.

Hello, I am using the JDBC thin driver and have individual user-id's with expiring passwords. The security profile gives them 5 days of warning messages. I can see these messages if logging in with SQL*PLUS. But I would like to pick this up in the ge
