NUMBERS WONT OPEN A DOWNLOADED FILE

numbers wont open my downloaded file, of 2.2mb it says its too large? please help

MM,
Taking Numbers at its word, you have no choice but to trim down that file before importing.
If it's a financial printout, you could restrict the date range. If it came from a friend or colleague, you could ask that person to send it in parts.
The problem probably isn't the overall size, but rather that it may have more than 256 Columns or more than 65,535 rows. Those limits are from memory, perhaps plus or minus 1.

  • I downloaded the new version of bridge and it wont open the raw files on my mac.

I downloaded the new version of bridge and it wont open the raw files on my mac.

hello and thank you for your suggestion. I have tried it and, when trying to open a program which I previously was able to, still get the following message:
    Remote XUL
This page uses an unsupported technology that is no longer available by default in Firefox.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Seems unbelievable that I previously had no problem and now I do. Have you any suggestions to overcome this? Do you think I can go back further in Firefox history to get a version that will make it possible to access this. Many thanks! Lynn

  • Safari wont open after downloading 'genieo', its taken over homepage on internet and only opens for 1 second before closing rapidly. deleted it but still cant open internet. please HELP!

safari wont open since downloading 'genieo' stupidly, well by accident i just looked what it is up..... as needed to crop song quickly and must have been on that page/..., i moved it to trash and removed it everywhere i could see it but its still taken over safari and so web page closes after 1 second of opening so i cant use it. There are removal instructions etc online but i cant get online to do them! how can i sort this out if i cant use the internet and change my homepage etc? Will people at Apple store be able to do this for me?

There are some instructions that take time with some attention to detail to attempt and also remove all parts of the genieo and other adware malware bad content that come with visiting or downloading a variety of web sites which may spread their ilk to those who unknowingly or unwittingly get downloads or install content that has been doctored with some untoward idea in mind. Some of the posers do this to disrupt or sell more dysfunctional cures to their created mischief. The cure (incl their uninstaller) may be as bad as the problem.

Genieo is a specific issue and has a section in there.
    http://www.thesafemac.com/?s=genieo&submit=Search
For general adware, a script (beta, if you try luck)
is available but it may not touch genieo...

The browser issue is covered under one of the topic areas, as that may also include a re-direct device where an extra button or home page to junk keeps loading. Incorrect removal of the badware may cause Safari to fail. However, you can get use a different browser to get information such as visit the above site, or here, etc.
I do not know if the techs or genius at Apple Store would be able to remove the problem. One way it to erase everything on the computer, and start all over, and lose all your stuff. You should have a backup of your created content on a drive external to your computer, in addition to TimeMachine backups, for restoration purposes; this done before an issue strikes. The methods of removal are covered in the linked pages above.
Another way, as suggested in detail by Linc Davis, can be followed and perhaps resolve the issue, too; at some point this topic thread will be seen by more than a few people. This is not a new topic here.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • When I try to open the downloaded file, a security warning restricts me from opening the file.

I have the new Motorola Bravo which is on the Android 2.1 system. When I try to open the downloaded file, a warning appears saying "This application comes from an unknown source, and for your security only applications from trusted sources can be installed". Is the download corrupt? I would think not, but I am very confused.

Unfortunately, AT&T disables the ability for its Android phones to install applications that aren't distributed through the Android Market.
If this phone is not AT&T-branded, then you might be able to enable "Non-Market sources" in the "Applications" section of the Settings app.
If it is, then you might be able to use the Android developer tool "adb" to install Firefox on your phone (search the web for instructions), or you can wait for our next beta release which should be available through the Market later this month.

  • FM GUI_UPLOAD gives PC036 "Error when opening the download file".

    Dear all
I'm having a problem with a particular PC.
A program which calls FM GUI_UPLOAD gives the error PC036 "Error when opening the download file".
The file we are trying to upload is a text file, with tab delimiter.
If the same user executes the same program from another PCs, it works fine.
If another user executes the program in the "problematic" PC, it gives the error.
    So, the problem is PC-related.
I checked SAP GUI Codepage, and was the same as other PCs.
I cheched regional configuration, and was also the same as other PCs.
The operating  system is Windows XP, and the SAP GUI version is 7.10,  File version 7100.2.7.3077, Build 967944 , Patch level 7.
    SAP version is ECC6.
I searched across forums, SAP note, and the web, but I couldn't find anything.
I would be grateful if someone could give me ideas.
    Thanks in advance
    Jordi

  • Numbers cannot open an excel file (in my ipad).

Numbers cannot open an excel file (in my ipad) sent from an email. I get this message: "the document can't be opened because it contains cells outside the boundaries of Numbers"...what this means?

If you have Numbers for the iPad, that will be one of the options to open in (besides, or from, Quick Look) if you don't have one of the PDF  / printing apps. Numbers handles Excel files quite nicely on the iPad, in my experience--one more reason to have it.
One reason I like the Save2PDF app is that it gives me lots of options on the iPad for how I want to save or process email attachments.

  • Firefox crashes when I try to open a downloaded file

    Hello!
Whenever I try to open a file I have just downloaded Firefox stops working. I get a windows 'Firefox has stopped working' error message.
    Steps:
    Download a file
Blue download arrow icon flashes to indicate that download has completed
I click the download arrow to open the list of downloaded files
I click the file I want to open
    Firefox crashes
    I have tried the following:
    - reinstall firefox
    - refresh firefox
    - start firefox in safe mode (still crashes)
I have also tested in Windows safe mode and do not have the problem there. I believe this indicates that there is another piece of software that is causing the crash but I don't know how to identify which other piece of software it is.
Firefox doesn't record these crashes in about:crashes so I have no log to share.
I do have an Error from the Windows event viewer:

Does if help if you check the security tab in the properties of the file and remove a possible internet protection?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • Getting a Message EVERY TIME I open a downloaded file

Okay, I download all the time for my Sims 2 game. The format of the files I download are .package files, and used a program called package installer to open. Every time I open one of the files, it gives me this stupid warning telling me that they might contain a program. Great. I know that. Is there any way to disable this stupid message?

    Hi,
When I first started up my MacBook I accidentally left my homefolder named
something I didn't want. To correct that, my husband created another admin
account and then deleted the first one.
    See this article:
*About file quarantine in Mac OS X v10.5 and v10.6*
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3662
    It includes the following:
If you have multiple user accounts on your Mac, the user account that downloaded the file is the only user account that can remove the quarantine attribute to the file. All other user accounts can open the quarantine file, but they will be presented with the quarantine dialog box asking "Are you sure you want to open it?" every time they open the file.
Since the user account that originally downloaded and installed FireFox and Skype no longer exists, I would re-download these .dmgs from the internet using your current admin account, remove the old apps and re-install new ones from these new .dmgs, and run the apps at least once from the same admin account that downloaded and installed them. The quarantine should then be lifted, even if you later switch to a different account.

  • When Firefox is opened a download file dialog box pops up

When I open Firefox, a download file prompt appears for a file that I previously downloaded. I'm using Windows 8 x64 on a brand new laptop. (Not the computer I'm posting from)
    I've tried the following:
Set Firefox to use the default homepage. There are no secondary pages.
Set the default homepage back to default. (The default homepage does come up)
Tried launching Firefox directly from c:\program files (x86)\mozilla\Firefox.
    Clearing the downloads list.
Deleting all files in the Downloads folder.
Searching the HKLM\software\mozilla registry key for the filename.
Searching the about:config section for the filename.
Deleting the app data folder from app data\local.

    Try clearing the Download History.

  • Not able to open a downloaded file - paint??

I cannot open a file downloaded in Adobe.  This is the error message:  "Paint cannot read this file.  This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported."  I get the same message when I try to open saved adobe files or files that have just been downloaded.  I think the downloading is ok as I get the message that the file has downloaded.  But, I am not able to open it.  Paint is elicited instead.  I am using a windows operating system and firefox for a browser.  Does anyone have some hints to pass on?  I don't know where to begin.

What do you mean by "Adobe files"?
    What is your operating system?

  • Firefox4 just upgraded, wont open any localhost files or phpmyadmin

    Just upgraded to firefox4
Now phpmyadmin wont open in firefox. localhost files wont open all go to a blank page. I can copy and paste the same address in google chrome and go to it.

I have not heard of this problem before.  Have you tried a system permissions repair, and then de-activate your software (Help->Deactivate) and then run the Adobe - Adobe CS4 Clean Script before re-installing?
