Numeric keyboard with iMac

Recently,I bought a numeric keyboard to work with my iMac and found a problem which a small keyboard that included in a box doesn't have this same problem.
I installed both snow leopard and window XP on my iMac.Normally on start up when I press option key,it should bring up both drives icon to select. With the numeric keyboard, nothing happen but the small keyboard is working just find.
I consulted with apple dealer in my country and tested my numeric keyboard at apple store.Every keys working properly but the same problem still exist with the computer that have recent software update. On new computer,It has no problem at all.
Does anyone experience this kind of problem like me?Pls share your point of view.
Thank you

Are you able to use other startup keys, such as the C key to start up from your Mac OS X installation disc in the optical drive?
Did you already try resetting PRAM
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
(and are those startup keys recognized?)
and this procedure to reset SMC?

You have run Software Update to ensure your system is up to date?

Yes, of course, that is what is used in Japan.  You can still type any language, not just Japanese.  It just has a slightly different layout.
If you have a problem after you have connected it, come back here and provided details about what is not working the way you want.

  • Would love to see a USB numerical keyboard with trackpoint device.

    Hi Lenovo,
I have a new computer but miss my trackpoint terribly. Searched the web for a portable replacement but there seem to be only touchpads or trackball solutions out there. I think your numerical keyboard with a trackpoint would have been a perfect match.
    Best regards
    Magnus

Maybe you can buy two Lenovo products, one is the latest ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth or USB Keyboard with TrackPoint, another is a ThinkPad Numpad.

  • Alu bluetooth keyboard with iMac / Battery issue

How do you turn off the power on a new alu bluetooth keyboard used with iMac 20" alu?
I don't know if this is the right place to post it, but my original batteries lasted 3 days, while replacements only 4 days with moderate use only. I've used the previous keyboard (white) where batteries lasted almost two months (it used four batteries instead of three, but C'MON!!).
The old keyboard had a switch, this one has a side button, but I don't think I am actually switching it off if my average lifetime is 84 hours!
    Help please?

There should be a button on the opposite end of the tube that you put batteries into. BUT you might want to exchange your keyboard - something sounds wrong with it. I have a wireless keyboard/mouse with my AlumiMac and after one and a half months the origianl set of batteries still show 4 out of 5 bars under System Preferences and I never turn my keyboard off.

  • Can i use dell keyboard with iMac

can I use or find a connector to use my dell keyboard with my imac?

imac has a much smaller usb hole in the back then  then the usb I have.  I already have full size apple keyboard and a wireless one. I just like the raised keys on the dell and other keyboards. So I need to give up and must use the apple keyboards?

  • Using eMac keyboard with iMac help needed.

I have an iMac from around 2009, at the weekend the keyboard stopped working and until I can afford a replacement a friend has given me an old eMac keyboard he had spare to use in the meantime (which could be a while).
Just this morning I've realised that it doesn't have some of the function keys that the iMac keyboard has. The one I'm missing the most is the F3 key that shows me all the windows I have open at once. Something I find invaluable as I use my mac for music production and helps sort through and find all the plugins I have open.
Is there a way to achieve what the iMac F3 does with a combination of keys on the eMac keyboard?
    Thanks
    Andy.

With older Mac keyboards, try using the Command key with the F keys to see which F keys do what function.

  • Logitech keyboard with imac

I recently bought a new imac and am very happy with it. I did find the keyboard too flat and hard to use. So I bought a logitech wireless keyboard that is mac compatible.
When I plugged in the new keyboard, there were a few small installation items and then the keyboard worked fine. The instructions requested to touch the key to the right of the left shift key (the "z" key) then to press the key to the left of the right shift key (the "/" key). No problem.
I found that whenever I exited my account, the installation instructions continued to be displayed (stating the system found a new keyboard, then requesting me to key the z key, then the / key). Over and over again. Finally, I decided to reboot the imac and it seemed to mostly correct the problem.
Now, it seems at random times, once every 2 or 3 days, the installation instructions (stating the system found a new keyboard, then requesting me to key the z key, then the / key) start to display again. Every time I switch accounts on my imac they are displayed until I restart the system. Then everything is fine for a day or two until it all starts again...
Was I supposed to do something when I plugged in the new keyboard? How can I make the installation instructions finally stop displaying forever? The keyboard itself only had instructions for a pc, not a mac so they won't help.
Thanks for any help you can give...

  • TS3048 mac keyboard with iMac and Office Word... down arrow goes up and up arrow goes down... left goes right and right goes left... what's the problem?

My keyboard is going the wrong way... down arrow goes up and up arrow goes down, only with microsoft word though... weird ! Any help would be appreciated! Thank!

    Dear Daddy Paycheck
Your comment "a cheap" usb keyboard would work made me realize that I don't need to go to apple and purchase a new keyboard just to troubleshoot
I just figured that it had to be an "apple" keyboard, silly me!
so I just went and got my old compaq keyboard from my old computer in the trash pile. heck, a few quick requests to push the z and ? keys and it works great.
the apple now has tears on it, cause of the compaq keyboard, but too bad, it shouldn't have broke!!!! this compaq keyboard is 9 years old and still works great, why would I go spend $30 on another apple keyboard that only lasts 1 year??!

  • How do I fix bluetooth connection between mouse and keyboard with iMac. iPhone won't connect to bluetooth either

Bluetooth on Mac os x won't work with keyboard, mouse or iphone.  Keyboard and mouse both have new batteries and go discoverable when switched on, i have gone into system setup and tried connecting.  It connects briefly with mouse then drops in and out of connection, keyboard does same, asking for passcode then no connection.  I'm lost... my phone can pick up keyboard, so i think it is bluetooth in mac.

    Go to ~/LIbrary/Preferences
Move the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.
    Try re "pairing" the keyboard.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
For Lion:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

  • Connect wireless keyboard to imac

How do I get my wireless keyboard to connect to my iMac?  Both keyboard and mouse work fine with my MacBook Pro, but only the mouse is working with the IMAC?

Is the iMac a model built before the year 2006?
...Does your iMac run vintage Mac OS 9.2, pre-OS X?
{If not, you posted a question in a vintage PPC non-intel
discussion area that covers older architecture Macintosh
    which cannot run an OS X later than Leopard 10.5.8.}
    •Bluetooth - Apple Support:
    http://www.apple.com/support/bluetooth/
You'd have to pair the BT keyboard with iMac; they
can only be paired to one device/computer at a time.
Hopefully any additional answers will be found
in the Bluetooth Support site linked above.
    Good luck

  • When online and asked to fill in phone no., the iPhone presents a numeric keyboard that does not have space, hyphen or parenthesis keys. How to get a full keyboard to come up all the time?

When asked to input my phone number on some online forms (Yelp, donation), a numeric keyboard comes up on my phone. This keyboard has 0-9 characters, + # symbols, and the words "pause" and "wait.". There is no option for parentheses for area code, no hyphen option, no period option and no space option. As a result, numbers run in a single row. I then get the message "Invalid phone number" or "Invalid Format.". The sites then won't allow me to continue. This numeric keyboard is useless. How do I get either a numeric keyboard with the needed features or, better yet, get the alpha-numeric pad we usually see?  This seems so weird on Apple's part.

Does anyone know anything about onsite specifics?
I'm wondering where the onsite warranty can be in effect.  Like, can it be used in ANY city in the US?  Can it be used only in metrololitan areas?  What is a metro area in Lenovo's eyes?
Does anyone know where I can get better and accurate info on the onsite warranty?  Like a coverage map would be very helpful.  Because why should I spend the money on it, if I can't access it?
    Looking forward to more info...thanks.
There is no coverage map as such.
I live in what is considered a rural area and had techs driving 60-70 miles one way to get to me, never an issue.
    Obviously, YMMV.
In my not-so-modest experience, both onsite and accidental damage upgrades are worth every penny if one intends to keep their ThinkPads for an extended period of time.
    Good luck.

  • IMac Running Windows 7 - Wired Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keys

I dual boot using Boot Camp into OSX or Window 7. I wanted to use both my Apple Keyboard and Mighty Mouse, but the Mighty Mouse once it lost a connection I could not get it back easily so I switched to a Logitech wireless mouse. My wired Apple keyboard works except for the numeric keyboard to the right. There is no num lock so in WIndows 7 it thinks it is the function keys associated with a PC keyboard. Help.

Just an idea for you. There is an entire Apple Discussion forum dedicated to Boot Camp and Windows.
Whereas, not everyone here with an Intel iMac has installed, tried to install or has experience with BC & Windows, everyone there has or at least has an interest. You may attract help more quickly there.
    The Forums are at the bottom of the main Apple Discussions page under Windows Compatible Technology. Here is a link;

I am trying to connect a wireless keyboard with a numeric pad to my (recent) iMac running Mountain Lion. I followed all recommendations in article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3048#1.  My computer recognises the alpha part, but it does not see the numeric pad. Any advice?

  • Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad & Mighty Mouse questions

I apologize first for not knowing where the heck to search for this or post the question. (I searched the Apple site for info/downloads, as well as the Forums.)
I just picked up a wired kybd (A1243) and wired Mighty Mouse (A1152) from eBay at a pretty good price, but they came without any documentation or s/w. They seem functional, to the extent I can test them.
I'm planning to use these (for now) with my iBook (as a desktop), and later with an iMac.
I know there's programmable features to the mouse, and keys on the kybd I don't recognize, at the very least.
Could someone point me to the appropriate downloads? Thanks!!!

This is the original wired aluminum keyboard (with numeric keypad) software download (update) link. Make sure your 'Universal Access' mouse & trackpad function is deselected or your numeric keypad keys will not work.
    Good luck.
