Numeric readout for color values?

I've been using Aperture and can not find any numeric readouts of the rgb values. Where is it hiding? Am I missing something???

Try clicking on the blue "I" in the top right hand corner..this is the Hide/Show inspector tab.

  • How do I input a specific color value for a shape?

    I've been trying to figure out why I cannot input a specific color that I want for a shape. I'm not just choosing a color that looks nice, I'm trying to match it to a solid color in the next clip. Ive tried to use the eye dropper to get the color from the next clip but I cannot copy anything outside of the color pallete provided. I know the value of the color (from 0-255 it's R:191, G:211, B:217) but all FCPX has is 0 - 1, which is some other kind of color value system I've never seen before. Does anyone know how I can put that specific color value into the shape generator?

    Click the color swatch to open the Apple color picker. This is common to all Mac apps.
    Click the second tab for color sliders. Change the popup to RGB.

  • Please, can I with help of Javascript change spot color values? for example by my color VARNISH with c:0,m:10,y:15,k:0 to make change to c:0,m:0,y:0,k:0? thank you

    Please, can I with help of Javascript change specific spot color values? for example, I have color named VARNISH with values c:0,m:10,y:15,k:0 and it would help me to make change to c:0,m:0,y:0,k:0 as a part of an action. Is it possible? Thank you

    Hi Kon Verter,
    you can change the values of your spot swatch, but you have to check many things before.
    e.g. you can do something like this:
    var Vcolor = app.activeDocument.swatches.getByName("Varnish");
    if (Vcolor.color.spot.colorType == ColorModel.SPOT && Vcolor.color.spot.spotKind == SpotColorKind.SPOTCMYK) {
        alert("Black value before: "+Vcolor.color.spot.color.black);
        Vcolor.color.spot.color.black= 0; // and so on
        alert("Black value after: "+Vcolor.color.spot.color.black);
    This will change the black value of the cmyk spot color with name Varnish to 0
    Have fun

  • Read color values for swatches in InDesign CS5, js

    Hi,
    I  need to read color values for  swatches. I got this in OMV and was hoping it would give me an array of the color values for all existing swatches, but I am only getting "Object color":
    mySwatches = myDoc.swatches[1].getElements();
    alert (mySwatches)
    Thank you for your help.
    Yulia

    Hi Yulia,
    Try this:
    var
        mD = app.activeDocument, // document
        mS = mD.swatches, // document swatches
        gS = 4, // swatch index
        mC = [mS[gS].name, mS[gS].colorValue, mS[gS].space]; // swatch properties
    alert(mC.join("\r"));
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

    Hi
    From your title,
    >>what is the smallest Gcd value for Colors
    What do you mean about Gcd value?
    Do you have some code that you could show us to illustrate what you are trying to achieve? Or are you just
    talking in vague general terms about how you might go about writing some kind of code
    And the more details the better responses you will get. Thanks.
    Have a nice day!

  • Color value shift from Illustrator to Photoshop

    Hi there:
    Hopefully someone has an answer for me (my apologies if this has been addressed before)?
    When I open up a EPS file in Illustrator, the blacks read !00% for RGB. When exported as a JPG, Photoshop reads it as 0-0-0. So far so good. But when copy and paste the same EPS into a Photoshop files, as a smart object, the values change to 4-7-7. I've tried that with other colors, and it seems the color values shift when using as a smart object. Any ideas on why and how to remedy this?
    I will also post in the Illustrator forum as well...
    Thanks,
    Lisa

    Color spaces are a little complicated.
    Best practice is to pick one and use it for every application.
    Adobe (1998) has been regarded as a great standard for years.
    If you are using s-RGB you and going into CMYK, you will probably always get color shift.
    Bruce Fraser used to refer to s-RGB as "Satan RGB."
    It has a very small color gamut and almost everyone has it by default because it is the Windows standard and unless the system was calibrated and planned, s-RGB will be everywhere (as intended).
    Unfortunate that printing uses CMYK and the web uses the RGB.
    Newer printing technology can use RGB but the s-RGB will limit your color spectrum.
    Also you can set the conversion settings to preserve either the numerical values or perceptual intent...or turn them off in your preference panel.
    If your final work product is in RGB (anything viewed on a monitor), I suggest that you work in RGB and not CMYK and use the Adobe 1998 standard on every machine and every program. (You can set your info palette to see both sets of numbers)
    Everyone has their own opinion, the key is to be consistent.
    And dont let all the tech-speak freak you... there is lots of information out there but you are in charge how you use it.

  • Numeric limit test color

    Hi,
    I am generating a html report and I have a scenarios as follows:
    I want to have a numeric limit test such a way that when the value is within the limits the status of the report should have a status with background color as "Green", if the value is at the limits the color should be "Yellow" and when it fails the test the color should be "Red".
    By default TestStand provides me the colors for "Green", and "Red" for "Passed" & "Failed". How to get the color code of "Yellow" in my report for the values read which are at limits.
    Pl help me.

    Hi,
    The TestStand Message Popup Step Type dialog is nothing more than a configurable CVI dll that generates a dialog window; therefore, it cannot be modified to use different colors or fonts. However, you can always make a custom step type that displays a dialog with the exact dialog style that you want by modifying the existing step type source or by making a new dialog from scratch.
    You can refer http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3C52BF61E257D8FC86256D1D0070FFFD?OpenDocument for the same.

    I have tried checking by looping through the ArrayList and then checking for null values like this
    if(myRow.get(i)!=null)
      // do something
    // i have tried this also
    if(myRow.get(i)!="")
    //do something
    }Edited by: nb123 on Feb 3, 2008 11:23 PM

    From your post I see you are using a 3rd party package to access the Excel SpreadSheets, you will have to look in your API for you 3rd party package and see if there is a method that will identify a blank row, if there is and it does not work, then you have to take that problem up with them. I know this is a pain, but it is the price we pay for 3rd party object use.
    In the mean time, you can make a workaround by checking every column in your row and seeing if it is null, or perhaps even better: check and see if the trimmed value of each cell has a lenth of 0.

  • How can I get scripting access to color values in the indexed Color Table?

    Hey all,
    I'm relatively new to Photoshop scripting, but I've just finished a script that helps my fiance with some very tedious tasks related to textile design.
    The last issue that I'm having is that the image I start with is indexed and has a very specific Color Table pallete ( 2-12 colors max + black and white, so 14 max total, sometimes as few as 2 ). Part of my script, I create a number of color chips and fill them with black currently... What I'd like is to be able to get a count of the colors in the Color Table and put the actual color values as hex into an 1 dimension array, so that I fill those black chips I've made with the actual colors from the Color Table.
    ( I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm converting the image to RGB mode at some point in the script, and back to Indexed Exact ).
    Can anyone please help me do this? Needs to be compatible with CS5 and CS6 ideally.
    Thanks!!

    Cheers for that, your code works but what had thrown me was that the collections appear to be empty - so I hadn't actually tried retrieving one, I just assumed I was looking in the wrong place.
    So if I do this in my Immediate window:
     App.Current.Resources.Count
     0
    Yet when I request it, I get one:
     App.Current.Resources["TitleTextStyle"]
     {Windows.UI.Xaml.Style}
         base {Windows.UI.Xaml.DependencyObject}: {Windows.UI.Xaml.Style}
         BasedOn: {Windows.UI.Xaml.Style}
         IsSealed: false
         Setters: {Windows.UI.Xaml.SetterBaseCollection}
         TargetType: {Name = "TextBlock" FullName = "Windows.UI.Xaml.Controls.TextBlock"}
    Looking at the resources object itself, I get similar apparently empty collections:
     App.Current.Resources
     {Windows.UI.Xaml.ResourceDictionary}
         base {Windows.UI.Xaml.DependencyObject}: {Windows.UI.Xaml.ResourceDictionary}
         Count: 0
         IsReadOnly: false
         Keys: Count = 0
         MergedDictionaries: {Windows.UI.Xaml.DependencyObject}
         Source: null
         ThemeDictionaries: {Windows.UI.Xaml.ResourceDictionary}
         Values: Count = 0

  • Preserving Black color values when converting color PDF to grayscale

    I opened a full colored PDF document (exported from InDesign using Profile: Euroscale Coated v2) in Photoshop and tried to convert it to grayscale (image > mode > grayscale) and noticed that the black color values changed. text for example that was 100% black in the PDF document became a screen of 91% black.
    is there a way to preserve color values when converting full color PDF documents to grayscale?
    or in other words WHICH is the correct way to convert full color PDF documents or full color InDesign files to grayscale?
    I am using Adobe CS 3, Acrobat 8 Professional, on Mac OS 10.5.5

    Before you open the PDF in Photoshop, set PS's Color Settings to Photoshop 5 Default Spaces. When you open the PDF set the Mode to Grayscale in the Import dialog. Just remember to reset your color settings when you're done.
    Edit: Also, if you want to match black percentages as well as 100% black, set the Photoshop Color Settings to Photoshop 5 Default Spaces with the Gray working space to Dot Gain 20%.

  • Maintaining global lists for ComboBox values

    I would like to maintain multi-lingual lists of allowable categories to be used
    in ComboBox controls. The values for these lists should be stored external to
    the application or at some global level to that they can be maintained by someone
    who is not necessarily a developer.
    When the user chooses a language when the application runs, the arrayCollections
    containing the data/value pairs should be loaded with the data in the appropriate
    language. These arrayCollections would be then bound as the data providers to
    ComboBox controls in the various modules and components of the application.
    For example, in an application about cars there could be a ComboBox containing
    colors  - in English (red, gray, blue, black) in German (rot, grau, blau, schwarz).
    There could also be a ComboxBox containing body types: (sedan, coupe, convertible)
    or (limosine, coupe, cabriolet).
    ComboBoxes using the data could be used anywhere in the application - in modules,
    components or whatever.
    What would be the best way to approach this from a design perspective? Where should
    the lists to be loaded into the control's data provider at run time be stored?
    Scott

    Resource modules are probably the right answer. They can even do an enumeration of sorts (an Array of Strings, which sounds like it could be a good fit for colors). In any case, if you ensure that your model (e.g., CarBuilderManager, with methods like getColors() and getBodyTypes()) is cleanly separated from your views and the actual comboboxes, you can do your localization work in there. Then, in your view, you can declare comboboxes like
    <mx:ComboBox id="colors" dataProvider="{model.getColors()}"/>
    and you can easily adapt the localization without changing the view (e.g., if you find ResourceManager is not doing it for you, you can roll your own localization method).

  • Numeric text background color on a numeric element of a cluster.

    How does one change the numeric text background color (NumText.BGColor property) on a numeric element of a cluster?
    I see the property when a numeric is standalone, but don't see it when it is inside a cluster.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    No, all array elements share the same properties. Only values can be different.
    One solution would be to add a flat colorbox as additional cluster element and place in in the background. Now change the color as desired.

  • Color values shift from Illustrator to Photoshop

    Hi there:
    Hopefully someone has an answer for me (my apologies if this has been addressed before)?
    When  I open up a EPS file in Illustrator CS5, the blacks read !00% for RGB. When  exported as a JPG, Photoshop CS5 reads it as 0-0-0. So far so good. But  when copy and paste the same EPS into a Photoshop files, as a smart  object, the values change to 4-7-7. I've tried that with other colors,  and it seems the color values shift when using as a smart object. Any  ideas on why and how to remedy this?
    I will also post in the Photoshop forum as well...
    Thanks,
    Lisa

    So I also had someone else reply in the Photoshop forum about this. Apparently, I need to be using the Adobe RGB (1998) color space on both applications in order for the numbers to reflect the correct color values.
    Not sure why it wouldn't do so in other color spaces (I had mine initially set to sRGB on both apps), and I'll need to see if this runs into any issues on our end.
    If you have any more insight, I would love to hear it. But thanks for your help!

  • Illustrator cs5 changes Kuler color values when importing, Help!

    I am using Illustrator cs5. I access the Kuler Color theme feature for color themes. I will select a them from the Kuler feature
    and then choose to add that theme to my swatch panel. I then check the individual colors in the color panel. Here is the
    problem: when illustrator brings in the Kuler colors to the Illustrator color panel it will change the values of that color which
    changes the actual color. For instance a bright green becomes a muted turquoise. This conclusion is not by my sight,
    because I have opened the specific color theme at the Kuler Web sight and obtained the CMYK values for those colors,
    and then gone back to the Illustrator color panel and compared then values there. The values are changed which creates
    a different color --- obviously. So how can I use the Kuler feature when illustrator changes the values on me which then
    changes the color? Help

    I dont know what my color settings are at this point.
    I download the Kuler color theme straight from the Kuler panel open on my desktop. I open
    the drop down menu options and choose: add this theme to your color swatches. The
    theme is moved over to the swatch panel while I am using Illustrator.
    I don't know what you mean by your last question.
