Nvidia 8600M GT GPU (no clue what this thing is) issues - please explain
what is this exactly? well, whatever it is, someone told me this is why my MBP is in shop right now! screen went totally black lastnight with the computer running fine and normal. if this Nvidia thing is truly the problem and damaged, is this a big deal to fix? will i lose all my HD info during the repair? i dont know enough about the interior of my MBP to understand what this is exactly, so please help me. seems my 1year warranty should cover the repairs,but this is ridiculous. not even a year, and my $2800 machine shut down. my baby

Nvidia is a manufacturer of graphics chips and one of Apple's many suppliers. The chip will be attached to your logic board and has to do with graphics and the display. If the chip is defective and fails, Apple will replace the logic board under warranty. This should not in any way affect your hard drive, which is an entirely different component and is NOT physically attached to the logic board. Rather, it is connected by a cable which can be unplugged.
The reality of manufacturing is that despite all precautions, defective parts are occasionally produced which end up getting incorporated into things--even very expensive things. It's unfortunate, but it happens.
Your one year warranty should certainly cover the cost of the repair. You might want to consider getting 3 year Applecare.
You might be able to access your hard drive using another Mac and Firewire Target Disk Mode. If so, it would be wise to make a backup of your hard drive before sending your Mac off for repairs. If you have access to an Apple Store, they should be able to help you to do this. They might also be able to replace the logic board for you.
Your hard drive should not be affected by replacing the logic board, but there is always the possibility that the entire MBP will be examined, and if someone thinks the hard drive should be replaced, it probably would be. So be sure to make a backup of your entire hard drive before sending it off.

Message was edited by: Carmine MatarazzoI had the GPU on my MacBook Pro fail, sent it into Apple late last year , they must have replaced all the guts of the computer because the hard drive was wiped of my data. Luckily I had it backed-up via Time Machine so was able to restore it.
Since I figured it would probably fail again I bought the extended AppleCare plan. This past week it failed again, exact same problem. It's now in a local shop being repaired under AppleCare. Not sure if the hard drive will get wiped again.
I expect it to fail again in the future as the problem appears inherent in the Nvidia GPU model. Apple can't seem to identify which parts will work or fail or I wouldn't have gotten a faulty GPU part installed as a fix. I hope I'm wrong as this is a hassle to deal with as my MBP is my workhorse computer, now I'm on a Windows machine as a workaround. This is really frustrating. -
This MacBook Pro (circa 2011) is the second Apple laptop I have owned with the exact same issue. When I change sites (or at least many of them), the Mac issues a single chime. I do not have any clue what this might be ... or if it even needs repairing if I can stand the chime.

You can buy and install the hard drive you want to. However, on Late 2009 and newer iMacs the temperature sensor is in the hard drive, so if you replace it with a hard drive that has not got a temperature sensor you will have serious fan problems.

HELP!!!!!! I'm trying to download a few game/apps on my iPad and it's just saying waiting and not budging????? Anyone know what this might be? Please help me!!!
Although having it loading 5 at a time is not ideal, the iPad is more than capable of doing it, it merely pauses those after the first requested. It will install one at a time then go to the next, installing one at a time rather than trying to do a group like this shouldn't yield any great benefit.
Also don't forget that some apps are hundreds of MB in size so depending on your internet connection will just take a lot longer to download than those which are only 1 or 2 MB in size.
I only have a 0.8MB broadband connection when it's at it's fastest so am used to checking the sizes of apps before downloading, it's very frustrating when you forget and hit download only to spend the next 30 mins or so watching a blue progress bar creep across te 10 mm of icon space!!

Yes, we have tables for SAP BPC EPM comments and it is stored in backend BW.
Please follow the below steps to see it -
1. Go to RSA1 and find the infoprovider name for the application/cube that contains the comments For example, the infoprovider name is /CPMB/VZIKG4O
2. Then Go to SE16 and enter the comment table name. The comment tables are generated tables. You can determine there name by using the following rules:
a. The table name always starts with '/1CPMB/'
b. The rest of the name is derived from the infoprovider name - it is the first two characters after the second '/' + the fourth, fifth and sixth characters + CMT (for comments) or CMTA (for archived comments). In my case the comments table name would be "/1CPMB/VZKG4CMT" and the archived comments table would be "/1CPMB/VZKG4CMTA".
3. Hit 'F7' or click the table contents button.
4. Enter the criteria for the comments you wish to export.

Usually, it helps to have a WLS version number, the config.xml file,
and a bit of background to go with the stack trace :)

I'm lost. I bought my video ipod last year and before I got to use it, my brother's ipod broke. He shipped his off for repair and borrowed mine to use during work-outs, etc. He downloaded his songs onto my ipod (at the time, I didn't think anything of it). Now that I have mine back and am ready to use it, I can't get my recently purchased songs onto my ipod and all of his songs are in itunes and on my ipod and when they are in itunes, they are all in gray and I can't seem to touch them. Are these two problems related? And what do I do to get my new songs onto my ipod. I also get a message about an exsisting library and do I want to replace one with the other. Any thoughts?!

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to automatically update.

You are getting that message because the iPod is set to update automatically and was linked to (I presume) your brother's library. If you are now linking to your own library, saying yes to this question will load your songs in place of your brother's. -
After getting in a confused mess with my Apple ID password which I use very rarely, I have apparently managed to change it successfully Co-incidentally or related in some way that I don't understand, I now cannpt access mail on my desk machine. The message asks for my mail passowrd which I have no about or how to change it. All is this is connected to my sleeping enemy "The Cloud" I fear! I can access mail on both my iphone and ipad. hi all..i really need your help. i have been having serious problems with my g4. it has been telling me to restart it while using most of the programs that come with installation. sometimes black lines with wording comes across the screen forcing me to shut it down. now all the programs are quitting one right after the other. i have reinstalled the system. i have no added memory installed...jsut the 256mb standard. tonight i ran an apple hardware test and i got this message. "memory- error detected error code 2mem/3/4:dimmo/built in" what does this mean? do i need more memory and if so where do i get this? thanks so much!
Based on that information the built in RAM has failed. What you have been seeing is a Kernel Panic. Sadly since it is the built in RAM, adding more memory wont help, not that you cannot doing it, but I don't think it will stop the Kernel Panics. Bad RAM causes OSX problems, namely Kernel Panics so until the problem with the built in RAM is dealt with this will continue to take place. Being built in RAM, that means you'll most likely need a new logicboard. You will have to get your machine repaired if you wish to continue using it.

i want make my own jar.. that can i appear with those applications...
is the follwing enough to achieve that..
1. two class files, one implenting InputMethodDescriptor and second implenting implements InputMethod.
-> i wrote two classes in above fashion, but i am not getting that the menu with app added...
-> when i extracted jar file given by you, it is haveing services folder and in that it is having file path that implementing InputMethodDescriptor...
-> how to make services folder in the jar file?Since I'm the only one who responded to you on this topic, I can only assume you mean me - unless you think I am someone else who responded to you in one of your other topics I see you've opened. At any rate, I gave you no jarfiles, so I havn't any idea of what you mean by that. I also don't know what you're trying to do - other than, as you said, make a jarfile. But everything else about your question seems unrelated to that question. Also, I've noticed that each or your other topics appears to have been answered - or marked as such - yet you don't seem to have given out any of your duck stars. Lastly, you've not answer me questions posted in my previous post.

Plz explain the concept if the code runs, how come jvm is handling by creating a object of the same class in itself. It seems to be a loop...??

Contact issue - please explain this to me
added a contact on my iPhone.
it synched to my mac and is in my Address Book.
it is not on my iPhone.
Address Book show 350 contacts. iPhone shows 349.

I have about the same problem: it seems syncing Address Book and the iPhone stopped functioning completely after the 9.1 iTunes update. I manage my contacts in the Address Book but none of the recent changes come to the phone.
new groups I have created in Address Book don't show up in the iTunes synchronization page.
Lots of people are complaining about lost synchronization, mostly OutLook users. Perhaps it's related.
Thing that did not work for me:
- resetting Sync History (iSync)
- restore from backup using iTunes
- updating iTunes to version 9.1.1.11
I guess it's a problem on the Mac site. I really hope Apple will fix this sooon!
