  • NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL APPLICATION HAS STOPPED WORKING

I have got a big problem here with NVIDIA cards and have not been luck at all. My problem started when I had a clean install of Vista 32 on my HP XW6600 which came with Windows XP installed with an option to upgrade to Vista. When I upgraded I also upgraded my GPU from GT 9500 to Quadro FX1700. When I tried to open the control panel all I got was an error message saying it has stopped working. I never had this problem in XP with the 9500GT.
I later sold the quadro and purchased the Geforce GTX260 and had a clean install of Vista 64 on my system. But still this nvidia control panel cannot be opened. I am a professional video editor and needs the advantage of two monitors when running Adobe Premiere PRO CS4. I have seen some forums which says uninstall all nvidia drivers, use CC cleaner or Drivesweeper, in safe mode and reload the Nvidia drivers once again. but all this have failed.
My patience is running out now and I am now considering switching to ATI cards. I wanted to take full advantage of cuda with nvidia and was looking foward to purchase a quadro 5600 for maximum added perfomance. I have just ordered a second monitor from DABS.COM which I intend to hook up with my system and without accessing the Nvidia control Panel I will be in trouble.
Am I missing something here. PLEASE tell me know if you have got an idea on how to resolve this. I have attached a screenshot of the error message I get.

    GTX 260
    4GB RAM
    ADOBE CS4 Production Premium

"It has to be that HP thing"
Bill what is this HP thing. Could you expand on that please because I have just completed a clean install using HP RESTORE plus disc and my drive was completely wiped out. Not even Windows OLD files were left.
I then installed the drivers using the Original CD that came with the GPU, still the problem remains. I updated the driver using the internet and it didn't help neither. I have also purchased an Intensity PRO editing card and expecting a 22" HD monitor thhis morning for HD editing.
I think ATI is the way forwad. Which is the best ATI card for HD editing. Budget maximum GBP£150.
YOUR HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

  • TS3354 iTunes states I need an HDCP compliant monitor to play HD video.  My Nvidia control panel states I have a compliant monitor and card.

according to my nvidia control panel my monitor (shimian 27in (apple cinema display) IS HDCP ready, but itunes thinks otherwise.  Running a GTX780 in 2560x1440 resolution.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok so I got it going by turning down my monitor's resolution to 1080p. A bit annoying to flip back and forth but a simple solution.

  • Quad SLI option not available in Nvidia Control Panel after complete reformat

I had a SSD failure on this new build in Raid 0. Before I RMA'd the HD I went with one HD and was able to get Quad SLI running. Now after going Raid 0 with the new HD I had to reformat and I reloaded the OS and then updated all the drivers. Now I no longer get the option for Quad SLI even though my cards are seen by the device manager and the NCP. I can only go SLI on one card and can dedicate a GPU on the second card to Physx. I used the uninstall feature for each driver last night and then restarted in Safe Mode and used driver sweeper to clean out any remnants.  I then rolled back to an earlier nvidia driver on the 500 series with no luck. I installed Live Update but did not use it except to scan my system. It shows the latest Bios so that has not changed since. I also made sure that I was using the latest Realtek drivers. Any help will be appreciated.

NO i was not able to get windows to load. I would have an intermittant SSD failure at diferent points during the installation process. I went to a single drive and it installed fine and after completion I downloaded updated drivers and went into the nvidia control panel and activated quad sli. I did have to remove one of the cards during the SSD install in order to facilitate the installation of the Sata cable into the MB. It is possible that the SLI bridge may have gone bad since it was disturbed. I ordered another one to be sure and it will arrive today. While waiting I switched the video cards in their slots to check them and I also verified that the PCI slots are good. Is there some history of a conflict between Raid 0 and 4 way SLI that I should be aware of?

  • Logic Board Replaced -Nvidia Control Panel Missing

    Hello kind readers and helpers,
My laptop had to have the logic board replaced (twice) because of a faulty Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT card.
Upon its return, the Nvidia Control Panel was missing from the System Preferences and I'm now limited to the
adjustments I can make to the screen. The Nvidia Control Panel used to be there before the board got replaced.
I really need access to more detailed adjustments as I edit photos and video on my laptop and the current
display setting adjustments available in system preferences are just not cutting it... I need my Nvidia Control Panel
    back!!
Can anyone tell me how to achieve this? I went to the NVidia website to try to download the drivers, but they
have no support for laptops!! Ough, faulty graphics chips and no laptop support!! Really?!
    Please help me guys!!!
    Thank you so  much! =)

    Hello guys,
Just FYI, with the Nvidia Control Panel the resolutions available to me were much higher than those available in the display system preferences; 2048 x 1536 at 85Hz (VGA) and  2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz (DVI). Now, the highest resolution available is 1920 x 1200.
Thank you for your time and support! =)
Ahhh, now it's making sense. You have a 17" (I have a 15"). 1920x1200 is the highest resolution possible on the built-in 17" display. Your MBP can output 2560x1600 to an external display, but that's dependent on the external display's capabilities. I wonder if that Sys Pref you're asking about only shows with an external monitor? Would that fit your experience?

  • My nvidia control panel dissapeared from mac pro

My nvidia control panel dissapeared from early 2008 mac pro running 10.6.7 osx snow leopard with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT graphics card.I have tried reinstalling the driver from the nvidia website, time machine, and software updates.Nothing seems to bring it back. Solutions anyone?

    Hi Jack,
Yes the GT120 will work with the DVI port but the mini-displayport will not function on the card so you'll be limited to using one display. The handy thing with adding a GT120 to a 2008 Xserve is you can use it for compressor if you want to, to render videos.

  • Nvidia control panel for gtx680mx on iMac

    Hi,
I baught the late 2012 iMac and was wondering if Apple provides the all features/software for the NVIDIA GTX680MX that it comes with. When NVIDIA drivers are installed on the PC, the drivers that are installed on the system have the NVIDIA Control panel and the settings specific to the video card to tweek the video settings. I dont see them on the system prefrences or anywhare. I do not see any Mac/OS X drivers on NVIDIA'swebsite either.
    Cheers,
    Sameer Jaffer

NVIDIA drivers are included with OS X, and Apple updates them with every maintenance updates. Those drivers don't include the NVIDIA Control Panel, as it happens in Windows, and there isn't a NVIDIA Control Panel for OS X

  • W520 and hooking to TV - No DisplayPorts show connected in NVidia Control Panel

I had hoped the video would go well, leaving me to just have to worry about the audio issues when trying to drive my TV from the W520. I have the latest BIOS and NVidia Optimus drivers from the Lenovo site.
When connecting the TV to the laptop DisplayPort I tried to bring up the NVidia Control Panel (and also Desktop->Screen Resolution) to see if I could see the second monitor. The 3 DisplayPorts show no connection in the NVidia Control panel. Is this indicative of the cable maybe being bad (Should I at least see one connected even without a cable)?
    Other thoughts?  Thanks,
    Eric

    hey ericvn,
have you updated the drivers for your nvidia yet ? The current version right now is 8.17.12.6871 and if yours isn't this version; do update it.
if yours is this version, try uninstalling and reinstalling and at the same time do test the cable on a different unit.

  • GTX590 Cant access NVIDIA control panel Black screen after 10 mins

    Hi,
I recently purchased an MSI GTX590 and encountered this problem " Cant access NVIDIA control panel Black screen after 10 mins". I am running Windows7 Ultimate SP1.
I did have an xfire setup of 2xHD6970's, I uninstalled all the old drivers then used driver sweeper to clean out any remaining folders, also uninstalling them from device manager.
Next I installed the latest version of drivers from the NVIDIA site only to find that I am stuck in safe mode resolutions for my screen I cant access the NVIDIA control panel as it is saying " You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU ". In device manager it states that
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ".
I have now uninstalled and reinstalled about 6 different versions of drivers from NVIDIA including the latest BETA drivers which all have the same issue??????
I have also gone to the MSI site and downloaded their latest recommended drivers for the GTX590 NVIDIA Graphics Drivers Version 267.91 which are the only ones that seem to work as in it fixes the screen to the proper resolution and lets me into the NVIDIA control panel yet after about 10-15 mins the screen will go black or the computer will just freeze. Rebooting causes the same issue after 10-15mins
I have noticed a few others out there experiencing the same problem but no fixes as of yet any ideas??

    Thankyou for the reply,
Tested the card in another working machine capable of running and its fine I am sure the PSU I have is more than capable of running this card I ran 2 6970's in xfire on the same PSU and motherboard with no problems.
I am running it on an 40"BRAVIA LCD and am using the DVI to HDMI converter that came with the GTX590 and I have also tried it with an DVI to HDMI cable also.
The system is stable under the latest NVIDIA drivers but the display drivers aren't recognized under device manager and the screen resolution is still stuck in the safe mode size, they are shown up as having the same "error 43" and I still can't get access to the NVIDIA control panel.
I strongly believe this is a driver issue or an issue relating to software within windows. To give you a rundown on several things that I have tried to isolate or fix the issue with is in a list here:
    1. Installed every different version of drivers on an fresh install of windows7 including the latest Beta drivers
    2. Tried to run the GTX590 on another machine and it runs using windows7
    3. Run different graphics card setup using the same PSU RAM and mb on windows7 no problems.
    4. Run the gfx card on only 1 gpu no change.
    5. Last step I will take is to install Windows7 without the SP1 as I have read elsewhere that similar problems have been fixed by doing this if that don't work might just sell my soul to the devil n see if he can fix it lol.

  • Computer crashing and nvidia control panel missing options

Hey, I bought 2x msi gtx 970 and put them in sli mode. They worked fine for a while but yesterday I started having problems. I was playing shadow of mordor and suddenly my screen went black and my computer restarted. It worked fine afterwards tho. Then today I played some LoL and after playing for like 15 minutes or so it happened again. But now also after the computer restarted my nvidia control panel was missing options. There were only setup g-sync, set up stereostopic 3d and view rating for games. I'm not sure if this happened yesterday too. I tried reinstalling the drivers (tho I'm not 100% sure I did a perfectly clean install) and the options came back but the crash happened again and the options disappeared also again. I have 850w corsair tx850 so I think that should be enough power? My mobo is asus P8Z77V-Deluxe and cpu intel i7 3770k @ 4.3ghz. So what is the problem?
EDIT: after I restarted my computer again the options in the control panel reappeared
EDIT2: I ran furmark with both sli on and sli off for about 50 minutes and oddly enough my computer didn't crash. Everything ran well. Here's some statistics from sli: GPU1: 1316MHz @ 99% load, temp 80 C, voltage 1.193V, GPU2: started at 1303MHz and then dropped to 1277MHz @ 97% load, temp 62 C, voltage 1.206V. Another weird thing is that the crashes in lol kept happening even after this and always around 15-20 mins to the game. I would say it's an issue with lol but it happened once with shadow of mordor too. I haven't played any other games. Also it's weird that this started happening only recently, not from the beginning. I do recall downloading some update to geforce experience recently, don't know if that matters.
Also I'd like to know that are those temperatures normal for air cooling in sli and/or are they too high?
EDIT3: Just noticed that everytime I try to run pci-express render test on gpu-z my computer crashes instantly and apparently trying to run furmark now also crashes the computer

    Hello,
Could you please be more accurate on your spec: >>Posting Guide<<  RAM, frequencies, timings and so on.
Would be worth trying bit more powerful PSU. Not saying this one is insufficient, but it's always best to rule something out for 100% sure.
Remove OC from the CPU and RAM (RAM to be 1333MHz and CPU to run stock). Or try >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
Make sure that you're running latest BIOS for the motherboard <Contact ASUS about it>
Temps are completely fine for SLI on air. Top card always is much hotter than the other. However you could reapply thermal paste on both cards, run single card for 1h and record its temps, then do the same for the 2nd card (in single card mode so the other is out of the PC) and use the cooler one on top.
I feel so dumb right now. Seems like one power cord from the psu to my gpu wasn't properly attached and now that it's completely connected everything seems to work. I'll update this thread if that didn't fix the problem. But anyways thanks for your fast response

  • Since Win8.1 update NVIDIA control panel is not working

Since updating op system to Win 8.1, I am not able to get into the Nvidea control panel. I get a message that no displays are connected. I have got the Nvidea card as my primary source for the monitor.
    Help appreciated.

I guess you read the step by step instruction how to update the system from Win 8 to Win 8.1
Did you? Did you follow such instruction?
Did you update and install the essential nVidia driver for Win 8.1 which is available on Toshiba driver website?
    If not, do that!

  • IdeaPad Y580 Nvidia control panel won't switch to dedicated GPU

Hi, I've been struggling with this problem for a while already, I try to switch the default GPU for Rust PC game. It's set on integrated Intel GPU and I try to switch it to a dedicated GTX660m video card. The problem is, everytime I enter Control Panel, switch it, press Apply it switches back to integrated GPU! I can't play the game because it just won't run on Nvidia GPU and I have to launch it via Steam. How can I permanently switch to GTX600M card? Is there any way to do that instead that control panel which does nothing? Or is there any way to permanently disable Intel HD graphic? Help please!

    Dear Qbuteq
    Welcome in lenovo community
Have you tried to reset the BIOS
Also you can right click on the game and choose run with Nividia and check .
    Just let me know

  • Nvidia control panel

Is there such a thing for Macs?. Ati has always had some type of panel that would allow the user to tweak the setting for OpenGL etc to get the best performance for their needs. With the new Quad I see nothing that would allow a user to tweak diddly!
    thanks

Neither Apple nor Nvidia release such a thing.
I have not seen anything from third parties, which is not to say some gamer/developer has not created something which is not well known.

  • [Sound Blaster ZX]Control Panel takes 6 MINUTES to load and is nearly unusable?!

    All,
Yesterday I took the plunge and picked up a Sound Blaster ZX to replace my old Audigy Platinum. Unfortunately I've been met with a series of problems that leave me with a bad taste in my mouth about my purchase.
The driver install seemed to go well though it was a little disconcerting when the 'Check for update' button in the auto update tool that runs right after install was grayed out. I noticed that I was not getting sound out of the 5.1 analog inputs that I had connected up to my Logitech Z680 speaker system. So I checked the system tray and there was a new SB icon there, that was clearly a utility to get to the configuration. Knowing this was probably the right place to start fiddling with the settings, I clicked it. And waited. And waited. And waited some more.
Strange I thought, so I checked the Windows task manager and located the Sound Blaster control panel in the list of running processes. I waited another minute or so and still nothing was displaying. So I killed the process in task manager, located the shortcut to the SB ZX control panel in the start menu and launched it. Again with the waiting. I immediately took to google and started researching a potential problem with this card.
As I was searching and had forgotten that I had launched the Control Panel, it suddenly showed up on my screen. Wow I thought, that took a while to load. I then proceeded to try to navigate the various areas of the Control Panel application. I was immediately concerned when I noticed that the app was not responsive and appeared to be frozen. I decided to patiently wait to see if it would wake up. Fortunately it did, though only after waiting for several minutes. I then attempted to close the Control Panel app, which it did after several more minutes of waiting.
I thought maybe there was some anomalous process running so I decided to try the Control Panel from a fresh boot. After my machine had started up, I clicked the SB icon in the system tray again, only this time I was going to time it. I recorded that it took 6 FULL MINUTES from the time I clicked the icon until the application displayed on my screen. Further, the lag of switching between the various areas of the application was as high as 3-4 minutes. In essence this software is completely unusable.
I decided to try the TOSLINK connections between my speaker system and the soundcard to see if it would respond better. I set the mixer settings(via the built in Windows mixer) and I could get it to produce sound albiet only in two channel stereo. Progress, or so I thought. So I switched back to the analog connections and there was no difference in the response of the control panel. I had found some instances where an onboard or video card based HDMI audio driver might interfere with the card. I had long since disabled the on board sound of my Asus P5Q Pro motherboard via the BIOS so there were no drivers hanging around from it. I then took a look at the device manager and disabled the ATI High Defintion Audio device that was likely part of my SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 video card. This had no effect, I was still getting no sound from my speakers and the interface is abysmally lagged.
I then took the following steps to no avail:
Uninstall all Soundblaster ZX drivers and software
    Restart machine
Install the updated Soundblaster ZX software from the Creative Support site: http://support.creative.com/Products...T=CategoryID:1
Nothing I have tried has resolved the issue with the virtually unusable lag that occurs when trying to run the Control Panel and/or configure the Soundblaster ZX or the amount of time it takes to start up.
Anyone experienced this and know of a fix or a remedy? I really want to enjoy this sound card.
    **UPDATE**
I just wanted to post up and say that I solved this issue by first uninstalling all drivers for both the SB ZX and my Radeon graphics card. I then used Driver Fusion(http://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion) to perform a registry/file cleanup on all files associated with AMD graphics cards and Creative sound cards. Then I installed the drivers & software for the SB ZX from the CD that came in the box. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the software was responsive and the hardware was fully functioning. I then installed the software for my Radeon card however this time, I selected a custom install and chose NOT to install the HDMI audio driver. I don't know if this was key or not but at any rate, after the graphics card drivers and software was installed I am happy to report that the SB ZX software remained responsive and fully functioning.
I then updated the SB ZX software to the version linked above(1.0.22) from the version that ships on the CD - 1.0.13 and strangely the Cinematic tab disappeared from the Pro Studio control panel. Some research revealed that this tab is dependent on the Creative Labs Extras which seemed to have gotten nuked during the update. I was able to bring back the Cinematic tab by re-installing the extras from the CD, however it only installed the Dolby Digital Live component. DTS connect is still missing. I am going to do a little more research to see what I can do to get it back.
Hope this helps someone who runs into this same predicament.

Any news about the SoundBlaster Zx Linux drivers? Currently, there's no way to get even the most basic sound of it on Linux.
