or
http://www.3dchipset.com

all those efforts for nothing...
You haven't finished to mirror the unofficial file that nvidia release the new "official beta"... they are as fast as ever. Reminds me of the time the Geforce1 came out, with new drivers once or twice a week :D (unofficial of course)
So, enjoy the new driver!
And Athlonix, just kidding, i appreciate your effort on your ftp.

  • What type is version 35.0.1for firefox browser? Release/beta/Aurora/nightly/ESR

    The following webpage(http://www.geek.com/news/firefoxs-four-release-channels-explained-1489525/) says that Release versions are released every 6weeks.If that be so then how come v36.0 , v36.0.1 , v36.0.3 , v36.0.4 are relese channel versions ?
    the particular release pages mention "Version 35.0.1, first offered to Release channel users on January 26, 2015"
    Version 35.0, first offered to Release channel users on January 13, 2015
    Firefox Notes
    Version 36.0, first offered to Release channel users on February 24, 2015
    Version 36.0.1, first offered to Release channel users on March 5, 2015
    Version 36.0.3, first offered to Release channel users on March 20, 2015
    Firefox Notes
    Version 36.0.4, first offered to Release channel users on March 21, 2015
    (Pls look at the dates.)
    Thanking you

    I explained what the 36.0, 36.0.1, v36.0.3 and v36.0.4 are at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1055806
    The first version is the Major Release version. The last number like say 36.'''.4'''.0 was a chemspill update to do stability and or security fixes. These minor versions are not Releases. Ideally there is no minor updates.
    As you can see with previous Firefox Releases like 30.0, 26.0, 22.0, 21.0 for example on https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ there were no updates for them as there was nothing that warranted a stability and or security fix before next Release at time.
    Release/beta/Aurora/nightly/ESR are the main channels.
    Current as of this post:
    Release channel currently has 37.0.1 as you can see at www.mozilla.org/firefox/all
    Beta = 38.0b# and currently has [https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/all/ 38.0b1]
    Aurora = 39.0a1
    Nightly = 40.0a1
    The Beta channel can have say six to twelve builds for a version.
    Aurora is now called Developers Edition and both Aurora/Nightly gets checkins almost everyday so they get a update each of those days. Due to checkins they can be unstable at times until problem checkin(s) is fixed or backed out next update. These two channels are more for Testers and Devs and those who at least know how to manage separate folder installs and Profiles for each as they are not meant for regular Firefox users.
    [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/ ESR is short for Extended Support Release] and is currently based on Firefox 31.0 and the current Release version is [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ 31.6.0esr]. The second number like say the 6 in 31.'''6'''.0 esr goes up one version (next will be 36.7.0 esr) in line with the next Firefox Release (which will be 38.0) and the last number goes up if a chemspill update is warranted.
    When Firefox 38.0 is Released the next ESR will be based on it.

  • NVIDIA Detonator Drivers

    i was just wondering if it was safe to install NVIDIAs Detonator drivers on my MSI G4TI4200, this seems like a stupid question but i just want to make sure if i can use them or not before i try installing them.

    Hello,
    Thx for the replies.  Well I would like to keep the MSI tabs, but if had to could live with out them.  Although I for got about the VIVO and Duel display.  I run 2 monitors and one of the reasons I bought is card was for the VIVO.
    I see got one reply with no VIVO function and one with VIVO.  So guess I would like to know more about any problems you had getting it to work Denis.  Or if there was anything special you need to get to get the Nview, Dual Display and VIVO to work.  Correction on my video card I got, its a G4Ti-4200-VTD64.
    Thx for any info you can help with

The procedure may also include Microsoft running their own tests on a wide range of equipment, such as different hardware and different Microsoft Windows editions.)
    Anything one needs to pay attention to?
    EDIT: I just installed it. It seems to work fine.

  • Detonator 40 is released!

    Hi,
    nVidia has released new Detonator 40.41 drivers...
    They promise 25% boost in performance....
    http://www.nvidia.com/drivers

    More surgery applied to nVIDIA files!!
    This time, I have looked into nvcpl.dll of Detonators 40.41, anf this is what I have found:
    - "Powermizer" is only available for GeForce4 Go.
    - There is a diagnosis tab for GeForce4 Go too, enabling temp monitorning and automatic underclocking for GPU saving.
    - There are two different Hardware tabs, wonder what's for each... they both look the same.
    - Still some settings hidden at hardware tab: aperture size (info), depth of request queue (automatic, manual), enable fastwrites (on/off), enable write combining (on/off) and enable 2D command buffering (on/off).
    - nForce integrated GF2MX tab, some settings for tweaking frame buffer. (Those of you who use integrated VGA, are supposed to have this tab showed).
    - If your VGA's advanced settings crash as soon as you open it, rename NVRSxx.dll to NVRSxx.back (xx are the two first letters of your language name). You don't need to set your local settings to US English to fix it!!
    - If you are not using US English as your local setting, rename NVWRSxx.dll to NVWRSxx.back (xx are the two first letters of your language name). This way you will get the whole nView dialog, full of tabs and settings, not an ugly dialog with only two tabs and a few settings.
    - There are lots of bitmaps not shown, wonder what the h*ll are they for.
    - Stereo drivers are included!!, but I find no way to enable them.
    - Some tabs and dialogs for GF3 with HomeCinema, but they seem to be almost useless.
    - Registry keys for Detonator has changed, some of the previous tweaks will need a rework. NvRefresh and other tools like that wont work (until they release new versions). Anyway, Coolbits still works, at least.
    - and that's all, folks. More news soon.
    And some personal opinions:
    - nVDVD seems to work better (if possible!!) with this release, can't explain the way it's better, but I feel the force in it
    - Collapse feature of nView is great, nVidia should thought of it sooner!!!
    - Mmmm... OGL1.4 support, DX9 support, sounds GREAT...
    - "Inmediate mode optimizations for Solid Edge", that's cool!!! I really like SE, and use it a lot, so this is a five stars enhancement for me!!
    - Cool control panel UI, but I still miss a lot of settings, hope that Unwinder surprise us soon with a new release of RivaTuner.
    - No problem installing them over 30.00. People with control panel crash, read above the way to fix it.
    - Sideband still disabled, nVidia states that GF4 and GF4MX support sideband, but maybe MSI has disabled it at BIOS or somewhere else.
    - Looking lots of forums, hardware news sites, overclockers sites, nVidia fanatics sites... ALL PEOPLE IS REPORTING A HUGE IMPROVEMENT IN PERFORMANCE!! So, nVidia is telling us the truth.
    - nVDVD 1.71 released...
    - Hidden tabs available (http://www.nvnews.net):
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
    "Coolbits"=dword:ffffffff
    "NvCplEnableHardwarePage"=dword:00000001
    "NvCplEnableAGPSettingsPage"=dword:00000001
    "NvCplAllowForceTVDetection"=dword:00000001
    (new D3D refresh rate over-ride at D3D xtra settings, new AGP tab (don't work for me), extra setting for TV out and extended coolbits)
    And all of these in a official-beta release (It still sounds strange to me: "official-beta"). I think that the "absolutly official" release will be exactly this drivers but WHQL, just a CAT file included in the pack...
    I think that nVidia cuts the performance of their GPUs by software, this way, when any other GPU maker (any other GPU maker? I mean ATI, of course) releases a new chip that could play with nVidia GPUs at the same level, nVidia releases new Detonators that make our VGAs jump to a higher level. Doing this from time to time, nVidia will allways be a step beyond. Like a cat playing with a mouse.

  • Nvidia Detonator 42.82

    Everytime I try to run 3dMark2003, right as it's loading the 1st test (airplane test) it quits back to the desktop .

    For this new bashing about nvidia i personally have another view of this. But first i must say again that i use the nvidia drivers only on 2 pc (7500 and 4600) under arch linux and not on a laptop.
    The story from my view is that the kde4 developers make a intensive use of a functionality which has never been used before in this way under linux and which was no problem for the original xorg drivers. I don't know what you works but if i would be the supervisor of the linux developers from nvidia than i would say that they have to test the driver even for the newest kernel and the newest xorg version but don't take a look for every beta or preview version of other applications which includes kde or gnome too. Employees don't works for nothing and so you have even to decide what you will do with your non-endless manpower. And if you look in the forum (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=14) you will see that nvidia have recognized the problem, works on it and have a new beta driver with a better support for this problem. What can a company do more?
    So i'm a little bit surprised that people have impatience for at example that the kdepim suite 4.1 don't use the new akonadi framework but have no impatience to wait for a new stable nvidia driver under kde4. And still again, we speaks about the first "ready to use" version of kde4 which was released since a couple of days and not years. But this be only my 2c.
    oh so you mean to say release a powerful product,  i mean tout it as powerful with all the features and then dont release good enough drivers for it for months, maybe you are happy with that equation.
    The expectation is to get what you paid for I am not a open source zealot, for all I care Nvidia can keep their source closed, but I am unwilling to wait for months to get the FULL functionality from my card when it is worth half its price. What is so crazy about asking for accountability from a corporations...is it so hard to fathom?
    Oh yes I will keep pointing it out till I wish or till my card becomes OLD and when I have to buy a new one I will take this into account. As some would say oh Nvidia doesnt have to care about all this bitching they don't have to care about linux etc etc. I am speaking for myself I may be insignificant  for nVidia  but I am not happy.

  • NVidia v1.0-8756 released!

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-8756.html wrote:
    Linux Display Driver - IA32
    Version: 1.0-8756
    Operating System: Linux IA32
    Release Date: April 7, 2006
    Release Highlights
        * Adds support for GeForce 7300, GeForce 7400 Go, GeForce 7600 and GeForce 7900 GPUs.
        * Added support for running OpenGL applications while the Composite X extension is enabled; see "The X Composite Extension" appendix for details.
        * Enabled hardware acceleration of the Render X extension by default.
        * Added "AddARGBGLXVisuals" X configuration option, so that OpenGL applications can render to X Windows' alpha channel.
        * Added Linux/i2c support to the NVIDIA kernel module; see the "i2c Bus Support" appendix for details.
        * Improved power management support with Linux >= 2.6.14 and added support for suspend-to-disk.
        * Added new "nvidia-auto-select" mode entry for use in the X configuration file; see description in the "Programming Modes" appendix.
        * Added support for GLX 1.4.
        * Added ability for OpenGL applications to span greater than 4096 pixels when in Xinerama.
        * Improved G-Sync support.
        * Fixed interlaced modes on CRTs.
        * Improved compatibility with the latest Linux 2.6 kernels.
    What's interesting for me is the line "Improved power management support with Linux >= 2.6.14 and added support for suspend-to-disk."
    Will I be able to suspend my laptop once for all?!?

    Its not bad at all. I can finnaly play games with composit enabled.
    There are some quarks, however. Like if you have a large display like 1920x1200, and play a game that is limited to 1600x1200 max (Like Doom3 or Quake4), the game will display not in full screen anymore, but will black out the rest of the screen and the game will appear in the lower left.
    According to the Nvidia site, this should be able to be fixed with the nvidia-settings, but its not.
    Also, some games lag really bad for the first couple of seconds at the beginning of a round, like UT2004, but appear to play good after that.
    Quake3 fps droped out quite abit for me. I was getting 73 fps, and now I get 53.
    Not a bad release as it fixes alot of stuff, but introduces some other bugs.
    This is a great step in the right direction, just needs to mature a bit...
    If you are a heavy gamer, stick with the previous versions untill the bugs are fixed...

  • Java causes BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

    I am currently running the newest version of the JRE
    v. 1.4 update 5
    Every time Java runs on my system Windows XP Professional crashes and I get the Blue Screen of Death. I attempted to uninstall Java but that would also crash my system. So I reformated my computer and reinstalled everything again. Still the same thing occurs. Java crashes my system. If I open a webpage with Java, the java plugin in the control pannel, or any app which is java based my system crashes.
    I read elsewhere on the internet that setting Hardware acceleration to None will fix the problem. This works, but is not a viable soltution. I need my video hardware to run at full acceleration. What's the deal with JAVA?

    mode. My Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering
    settings are as follows:
    AA: 8X
    AF: 16XBut I already answered your question. I stated in reply 3 with "I bet you have Anti-aliasing and/or Anisoptric Filtering set to something other than application preference".
    Would this really cause problems with the JRE? Again if you would read the links I provided. The first one: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;:YfiG?bug_id=6267861 will give you the answer. And it is really, really, really, really easy for you to test. Just set your Anti-aliasing and/or Anisoptric Filtering to application preference and see if it works.
    The other options is to turn off direct3d by setting an enviromental variable. Start->Control Panel->System->Advanced->Environment Variables->New and then add the approperiate value
    Would I enter those Java commands under the Java
    Console in the Java Runtime Parameters Field?That might work for Applets and Java Web Start. Try it and see.
    I reformated my computer twice.Sorry you had to do that.
