NVIDIA DRIVER OR MSI DRIVER

i have MSI N770 2GB TF OC.
do I have to install the driver from the NVIDIA site or from the MSI website?
======================
I also have a MSI N760 2GB TF OC, a new use for 6 months, but already suffered damage.
My PC can not boot, and the motherboard speaker (long beep 1x, 3x short beeps. (ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe motherboard).
I was initially suspicious of my motherboard and also a component to my PSU (silverstone 760w Platinum) but sometimes also qualify boot, and into the windows. but at the time of entering the windows, when used to play games, then my pc restarts by itself. I then tried to replace the VGA card with the MSI N770. and there was no problem with msi N770.
I actually had the misfortune. 3 times buy produck msi, and 2 times the damage. 1 produck 1 week old.
Now I am planning to buy a Z97 motherboard msi gaming 9 ac. and the events that I experienced with msi n760, I think for a while about my desire to postpone the msi Z97 gaming 9.

newest drivers include fixes and peformance optimizations
so try latest one, go back to msi one only if you have issues with nvidia one

  • Soundmax for 875 ASUS Driver or MSI Driver?

On the MSI site it has version:
    a. WHQL Pass for MS-6758
    b. Driver version: 5.12.01.3538
    On ASUS Site is has:
    Version  V.5.12.01.3630  Date  2003/06/30
Description  SoundMAX Audio Driver version 5.12.01.3630 WHQL driver
Is there a difference in SoundMAX which is on the board of the 875 or has MSI just not updated the site?
    Please let me know,
    BITZ

Although MSI claims to offer either AD1980 or AD1985 coded for 6758 boards, most current boards (at least the FIS2R's I have seen) are using only AD1980 chip.
Asus P4C800 is using AD1985 chip which has jack-sensing feature that doesn't apply to AD1980 equipped MSI 6758 boards.
So using the newest ASUS driver may not be that relevant for MSI Neo

  • MSI driver - new NVidia driver: MSI Info/Clock

    Hi,
I first used the MSI driver for my new MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 AGP. I don't use any other MSI software.
I now uninstalled this old NVidia (MSI) driver and installed the new NVidia driver. The "MSI Information" and "MSI Clock" tab remain. Do they still work (D.O.T. , etc)?
Can these 2 tabs only be installed with the MSI driver on the CD that came with my card?
    Thanks!

k tabs are controlled by msicpl.dll and will not removed, you will manually have to eradicate the file yourself. It should be in the windows directory but if you cannot find it just do a search."
I now deleted the msicpl.dll from C:\WINDOWS but the tabs are still there.
There is one more msicpl.dll in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
Which one is the right one? Both? Or is one from Microsoft? Can I savely delete the one in \SYSTEM32 ? Should I restore the one in \WINDOWS?
    Thanks!

  • Update display panel from last nvidia driver with MSI VGA OC display ...

    Hello,
I have a MSI NX7600GS under windows XP and I've update the last nvidia driver for ...
But I loose my original MSI VGA OC display tweaking panel in windows xp standard display panel ...
How can I update display panel with MSI VGA OC display tweaking panel and the last nvidia driver ?
     ???

Quote from: AaronYuri on 29-March-07, 23:19:28
    Easy. Manually update the drivers.
    Go:
My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager > VGA card > Right click > Properties > Driver tab > Update driver find the folder with the ForceWare driver > Click OK. Your done.
You'll have to extract the drivers out of the .exe that they come in firstly mind.
I want to keep my latest downloaded nvidia drivers and add official MSI OC tweaking in windows xp display panel, so ... you asked me to find the folder with the ForceWare driver : last (from nvidia) or previous (from MSI's CD driver) ?
And how can I extact the drivers out of the .exe without launching install procedure ?
    Thanks ...

  • Video capture driver for MSI GeForce 2 Pro video card

    Hi,
I am in need of the nVidia WDM video capture driver for my Geforce 2 Pro video card. Model #M-8831. I was able to download it from the MSI/TW website over a year ago just fine. My computer crashed from a game bug a couple of months ago and MSI/TW does not list the capture driver I need any longer. I did email the company asking for help with no response back yet (after 2 weeks). You people may be my last hope.
I do have the cd that came with the video card, but I've never been able to install the capture driver from it. There is a button to install it, but it never gets loaded. I've tried browsing the cd and also tried installing it using the windows wizards with zero results. My only successful install was from the MSI home website.
If you need more information, please let me know.
     Thank you,

  • NVIDIA Windows Kernal Mode Driver 185.93 FAILED BSOD

Hi all, I recently purchased a MSI NF980-G65 board for a new build and I have been having alot of trouble with this one error that ends up giving me the BSOD.  First off I will give you the specs of my build:
    Board: MSI NF980-G65
PSU: Corsair 850W (Confirmed working properly in another build)
    CPU: AMD X4 965 (125W edition)
Video Card: EVGA GTX 260 (Confirmed working in another build)
    Memory: Corsair (CMD4GX3M2B1600C8)
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    HDD: Seagate 500gb 7200.12
When windows 7 starts everything is fine until i try to open any kind of program or window, especially anything with animation or 3d graphics.  Something as simple as google can start the problem, where my screen flickers and small black boxes appear all over my screen (somewhat pixelated) and after a few seconds the screen revives and i get this error: Nvidia Windows Kernal Mode Driver 185.93 failed and restarted.  This sequence of events will repeat itself every 5-10 seconds until I reach the inevitable BSOD.
I have flashed my mobo to the latest version (1.2) and run memtest but the problems persists.  Can anyone help me? Im at a loss of the next step.

    Hi again!
I ran the windows memory diagnostic tool from the install disc at the recommendation of a friend of mine at microsoft and it has found some problems with the memory that memtest did not find.  Something regarding the voltages.  I went out and got new memory and the problem was resolved.
Thanks for all your advice and support!

  • MOVED: Using 4xsata drives with MSI K8N NEO2

This topic has been moved to AMD64 nVidia Based board.
    Using 4xsata drives with MSI K8N NEO2

    Hi , yes unfortunately it's true !
Sata ports 3/4 is the fully nforce3 native chipset integrated (uses nvidia integrated PHY).
Use only theese if overclocking .
Satallink clock will be retained at 100mhz always .
Sata ports 1/2 are bridged from the nvidia chipset to an external marvell PHY .
Theese ones can not be used with HTT ref clock beyond ~230mhz +/- a few mhz without producing data corruption .
Satalink ref clock of 100mhz will scale upwards with increased HTT .
This issue applies to all nforce3 250GB/Ultra based motherboards with more than 2 sata ports regardless which vendor/make/model.
It's the chosen hw design that is the issue and no bios ever will fix it .
If you must have 4 sata drives , do like me and install a pci SIL sata controller card for the drives used for storage .
Take Abit NF8 (nf3) as an example .It has only 2 sata ports .
    Why ?
Only the true/fully chipset integrated sata ports is used .
Although the nforce3 chipset supports a sata link to an external PHY for port 3 and upwards some has chosen to not utilize it .
Nforce 4 chipset has corrected this hw design by adding more sataport by the link to external phy .
In nf4 four ports are fully/true chipset integrated , and does not suffer from this overclock barrier .

I keep having my screen go black and then Win 7 pro gives me this error:

    everything is fine after that.
    happens 3 or 4 times a day.
'''doesn't '''seem to be on graphics or flash heavy sites.
driver is up to date and tried reloading driver.

  • Will Toshiba update Nvidia NVS 2100M video driver for Tecra S11?

Will Toshiba update Nvidia NVS 2100M video driver for S11?
my machine S11 is almost 3 years old. In the first year there were a lot of update for drivers, but in the past 1 year there were no update.
At nvidia's official website there is a driver download page, but if I install the latest driver - it doesn't matter which one - I have several video driver related issue. So I have to downgrade to the Toshiba's nvidia driver.
    I will try this one
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-notebook-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-310.90-whql-driver-all.html
So will nvidia or toshiba update the video driver?

Ive got many years of experience with Toshiba notebooks.
I had about four different notebooks in my life and I have noticed that in different cases the same graphic card would be built in different models and series. This would mean that you could use the graphic card driver which is released for such notebook model for different notebook series which supports the same GPU.
Toshiba releases a lot of different notebook series every month and in most cases they give the main points on the new series. If you want to get newest driver for the GPU I think you will need to check the drivers released for other notebook series with the same GPU or you would look for drivers at some 3rd party pages like www.laptopvideo2go.com/

  • Tecra S11 - nVidia or RealTek sound driver. Which one do I install?

Tecra S11 nVidia vs RealTek sound driver - which one do I install?
I've installed nVidia and realtek sound driver also. I've got BSOD when I plug in 3.5mm jack headphone. When I want to listen music with my Bluetooth stereo headset I also got BSOD.
I reinstalled nvidia and realtek sound drivers. My Tecra S11 is very slow since I installed latest nvidia video driver from nvidia website.
Windows 7 very very slow since then. Firefox start up time sometimes 20-30sec

    Hi petersm,
The sound card of your notebook is a Realtek one so you have to reinstall the Realtek sound driver that you can download on official Toshiba website.
But as MisterX wrote you should also reinstall the Bluetooth driver because the tosrfsnd.sys file belongs to BT driver so its worth a try ;)

  • Windows 8.1 Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Driver stopped responding and recovered?

I have the newst version of the 15" MBP Retina with the Haswell chip and Nvidia GT 750m.  The problem I started having about 1 week ago is intermittent it seems, but involves the graphics driver when I'm in windows.
The screen goes flashes to black for about 5 seconds then recovers and the display comes back up.  It just continues to do this every 10-15 seconds and the error messages displayed is "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"  below that it says Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Vers.####### stopped responding and has successfully recoverd.
What's crazy is the problem is not limited to any particular version of the driver!  I used system restore and went back a few weeks just to make sure, thinking it was just a conflict with a new update somewhere.  I have tried to install old versions of the 64-bit Geforce driver and it is irrelevant, the problem keeps cropping back up. I dont' know what to do, and can't even function in the Windows side hardly at all for very long.
    Please help
    Thanks
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
I dont know if this will help you, but yesterday when I logged into Win 8.1 on the same rMBP as you I got an update notice for a new driver for the NVIDIA graphics card.
This is the driver that I got the notice for. http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/73780/en-us
You may want to download this and try installing it.
    Good Luck
