NVidia firewall stopped working after nForce drivers upgrade

Just for the record, my nVidia firewall stopped working after I "upgraded" from nForce 4.08 (came with the mobo cd) to 4.24 (latest drivers at the nVidia website).
...damn nVidia.
Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for the reply. I tried -- to an extent -- what you suggested. Thinking nVidia was smart I went on to installing the 4.24 without removing previous drivers/components. Everything installed except for the network/firewall stuff. I clicked "yes, install nVidia network stuff" and a fatal error occured a few seconds into the installation. I then proceeded to uninstalling the network access manager, followed by a retry of the 4.24 installation: same problem.
However, I never uninstalled the nForce drivers themselves. I will redownload the 4.24 .exe, uninstall everything, and run the .exe. I'll then proceed to report my crappy results here, in this forum.

Satellite A205 - SD Card reader stopped working after Win 7 upgrade

I recently upgraded to Windows 7, and, among other things, the SD Card reader stopped working. I already downloaded and installed the driver offered in this site: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2190493& rpn=PSAE3U&modelFilter=&selCategory=3&selFamily=10 73768663 (it's the next-to-last driver shown) but it went from not working all together to making funny noices when I insert the SD card... and then not working.
Any ideas of other drivers that might work, or any kind of other solution?

Try to remove eh SD card controller from the device list.
Then reboot the unit.
After that windows will ask you for an driver.
You can download this driver:

You should unzip this package and has to point the driver files in this folder
This should helps to get the SD card reader working again

I had the same problem and i found the solution here, its ridiculous but it solves it
iOS 7 now requires applications to specifically request access to the microphone, and a new “Microphone” section under the Privacy controls allow users to view a list of those apps that have requested access and toggle the access on and off for each app, similar to how other the other privacy options work.

Toupad Tapping and Scrolling stopped working after Windows 10 Upgrade

Hi, I upgraded my OC to Windows 10 today, after the upgrade tapping and scrolling stopped working on the synaptics touchpad. the toucpad only finctions as a pointer now. for taps/Clicks i always have to use the buttons below the touchpad. It was working fine before the upgrade, the earlier OS was Windows 7 I have checked for driver updates but i get a message that the drvier is up to date.I have check the device setting and confirmed that tapping and scrolling is enabled.I have also done a device reset. Nothing solved the problem, i also did not find a relevant answer on the forums.Also, the same problem did not happen with my other HP laptop (Notebook PC) which was also upgraded to windows 10 recently. Make sure you run all updates including optional. SD reader on macbook pro retina stopped working after mountain lion upgrade

I tried to use the SD reader on my new MacBook Pro Retina tonight and I can insert the SD card and the mac does not see it. It worked prior to my upgrading to mountain lion. Any ideas?

I also have a Mac Pro Retina and have the exact same problem after upgrading. I will say that despite the SD card not showing up on my desktop or in the finder window, I am able to import to Lightroom 4 with no problems and I get an error message when i withdraw it, asking me to "EJECT IT PROPERLY". APPLE! Please help us.

ITunes stopped working after 8.01 upgrade

While running iTunes 8 on my xp pro box it asked to upgrade. I said yes. It did, but never appeared after upgrading. It is running in the task manager, but no application ever appears. Here's what I have tried:
1. repair install - no luck
2. remove install and re-install 8.0 - 8 says can't start due to library files being from a newer version.
3. moved library files out of the 'my music' folder - 8 still wouldn't start.
4. re-install 8.01 - no start
5. re-installed newest QT - did see 'QT handler' wouldn't shut down errors when re-starting system - but this didn't get iTunes working.
6. QT opens and works fine.
7. deleted the data files in the 'all users' folders - still won't run.
8. re-installed the VBasic scripter - no fix.
9. started the smart card service - no fix
Looks like MANY other having problems with 8.01. Any helpful ideas appreciated!

I am having the same problem. My iTunes will not start. It started once or twice. I tried downloading it again and it gave me the option of repairing or rmoving so i chose repairing and it finished installing and started up. now it won't start again. I think it caused my iPod to lose the music in it.
If i remove iTunes and reinstall it, will it lose my library on the computer?

Applescript stopped working after Mountain Lion upgrade

Hi after upgrading to Mountain Lion (ML) the applescript that I use to reply to certain emails has stoped working on incoming emails. I have the script in the "new" correct folder. The funny thing is that the script works when you "apply rules" from the messages dropdown menu.

Camera flash/video light stops working after 4.5 upgrade?

OK, I apologize if this has been asked or covered here before, but I'm overwhelmed by irrelevant search results on all the search terms I can think of for "flash". Today when I did a routine sync the desktop manager wanted to upgrade me to 4.5, so I did. Apparently, my camera flash and video light LED now no longer works, although it was fine before the upgrade. I've tried changing settings from Automatic to On and even Off then On in both the camera and video cam apps, but no luck. I have also done a battery pull. Short of falling back to the previous OS release, which I am loathe to do since it's taken me most of the day to get everything else back to normal after the upgrade, what else can I try? -Sean

Xfce volume keys stopped working after 4.10 upgrade

Upgraded from Xfce 4.8 to 4.10.
Previously, the volume keys on my little Cyber Snipa game pad keyboard triggered volume changes and a little volume OSD display.
After the upgrade, this functionality is gone.
This volume control worked more or less "out of the box" for me after I installed Xfce 4.8, so I'm uncertain of what broke in the upgrade process. I did enable GNOME services after installing Xfce originally, and this option remains enabled.

Can you use other buttons or verify that the game pad is still detected at all? If the volume key presses are recognized and it's just that there is no longer a command bound to them, you can probably restore that with xfce-keyboard-settings or xbindkeys.

TS4425 Photostream on Apple TV stopped working after 5.1 upgrade

I recently upgraded to 5.1 on my Apple TV. Photostream in no longer working. I was directed to accept the terms and conditions on my PC. When I log into Icloud on my PC, I don't receive any prompt to accept the Terms & Conditions. How do I access this screen if it doesn't open on its own??

Same problem. I just installed a new AppleTV, updated the software before I started using it. PhotoStream needs Terms of Service updated for iCloud. From iMac or iPad there is no need for updated.

the "third" port being the one closest to the user while the mbp is open in typical use position in front of the user
regardless of reboots or device plugged in, nothing works (anymore) in that port...

Bluetooth stopped working after kernel/udev upgrade

I have a USB Bluetooth dongle, which has been running ok for a long time. Recently however, the KDE Bluetooth daemon reports 'no device found'. This the dmesg output when i plug in the dongle:

i thought this maybe a hardware issue, but the dongle is still detected in Windows.

One very basic question for you - did the bluetooth services actually start i.e. can you see messages like this

Wifi stopped working after upgrade, Asus N13

A couple of days ago my wireless stopped working after I ran a full upgrade. I have tried to identify the problem to no avail. I attempted to use the Ralink drivers for my chipset rt3072 but those worked very poorly compared to the rt2800usb driver in the kernel and it kept freezing my system.

I am using wicd but I have also tried with NetworkManager (I have made sure to systemctl disable the one not under test).
I tried using wireshark in monitor mode on another computer to capture the exchange for authentication. I can see my computer request authentication and I can see the router reply back. The reply is an authentication successful message, but then my computer immediately tries to authenticate again.
Any help would be appreciated.
