My system is incompatible with the new windows 10 upgrade. Get the following message "NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 , The display manufacturer hasn't amde your display compatible with windows. check with the manufacturer for support

It's true that card isn't compatible with Windows 10 and from my research it will never be compatitble. You can still upgrade to Windows 10 though Microsofts website though and follow my work around below. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Once you upgrade you'll notice your screens resolution will be screwed up atleast it was for me. Thats because it's using the generic Windows display driver since the driver for the graphics card isn't compatible. There is a way to get around it though. I will warn you now it's not perfect since the driver I'm linking is for Windows 8.1. Your icons on your desktop and in the taskbar will refresh every couple minutes. But you will be able to set your computer to the correct resolution. So it's kind of a tradeoff. When will HP put out a update to this Display card so we can upgrade to windows 10. This card is in a lot of HP computers and they cannot upgrade to windows 10. This is the only item that is holding me back from upgrade.

You may want to give my suggestion a try. Worst case scenario is you add a $35 video card or roll back to W7. Here is how to roll back to W7 from W10 if things don't go as planned. Basically any PC that could completely run Vista should have been able to run W10. But nVidia won't be developing any W10 drivers for that chipset and graphics. They didn't develop any W8.1 drivers either. I have an old HP nc6400 business notebook PC, and there is only driver support up to Windows Vista. I installed W10 and it works just fine. I manually installed some of the Vista drivers and used the W7 Intel graphics driver from Intel. Sometimes if you can't go through them, then you have to go around them.

Asus Motherboard with NVIDIA GeForce 6150 + nForce 430

Hi Guys,
Was just wondering if anybody could help me out a bit regarding buying a new motherboard.
I was looking at getting the Asus A8N-VM CSM motherboard which has the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 + nForce 430 chipset.
Would anybody have any views on using ArchLinux with this board.
Or would I be better off choosing something with a VIA or SIS or ATI chipset.
The reason I like this board is coz :
1) It has On-board graphics
2) There is an official driver with full 3d support
I guess I was looking to hear from people who already have this board or have any experience with installing linux ( actually mainly looking at ArchLinux ) and if there are any gotchas that should serve as showstoppers or the like.
As always, your advice will be greatly appreciated ...

i have an emachines EL1358g-51w that came with a NVIDIA GeForce 6450SE NForce 30 ( i believe motherboard ) and i went to upgrade my current windows 7 home basic to the new Windows 10 free upgrade ( which microsoft indicated that i was eligible for the free upgrade one month or so ago ) ..... on sunday i went to upgrade through microsoft now microsoft indicates " the display manufacturer ( emachines/acer ) hasn't made your display compatible with windows 10. check with the manufacturer for support "i went to the nvidia websight ...they indicate see emachines .... i went to the emachines websight ...they indicate see the acer websight ...the acer websight ( per their live agent ) indicates i have to wait until ACER does the update for my specific computer ...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THIS UPDATE WILL BE AVAILABLE ...

I do not see your unit listed as an eligible model that eMachines will be posting drivers for Windows 10. The drivers that we have posted on our support site are what we have qualified for the system, and based on the age of the unit there will not be newer ones uploaded. If you want to remove the installed graphics driver and try to install one directly from NVidia you can see if that will resolve it for you.

I have a HP DV9700 notebook. It originally came with Vista and I was able to upgrade to Windows 7 ultimate with service pack 1. I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 and was given the following message: unfortunately,this PC is unable to run Windows 10. I have a nvidia geforce 6150SE video card, so reading the wiki nvidia section I have to use nvidia-304xx...
I have installed it, made the minimal 20-nvidia.conf file, reboot... then as root startx and it shuts down between
Loaded extension DRI2
Loading extension GLX
Should I use some of the nvidia-96xx aur package drivers?

All of the "MacBook" laptops are compatible with XP/Vista.
One thing to note is that BootCamp is currently in the beta version (at least until when OS X Leopard comes out), so you may have some minor problems installing and running windows, but they should be fine.
Another thing to note is since Vista craves a lot of CPU, RAM, HD and graphics, I would suggest you going to a MacBook Pro. I have heard that Vista does not run smoothly on computers with less than 2 GB RAM, nor does all of its features render well if you don't have a 128 MB graphics card. Increasing the MacBook's RAM to 2 GB may also significantly increase the performance.
Either way, the option is yours. All of them should work out fine, with perhaps a couple of firmware updates

It should still be compatible. Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port using a different cable to see if that helps? Perhaps, try it another computer as well to see if it's recognized there.
Otherwise, start by checking to see if it's even recognized in Device Manager. See this article for details.

10.5.0.142 update incompatible with windows 7

I unfortunately updated my desktop (windows 7 32 bit) and laptop (windows 7 64 bit) to itunes 10.5.0.142. Update seems incompatible with windows 7. It has slowed both computers to a crawl, even when itunes not running. Itunes functions do not work or process at a dead crawl. Cannot access the store. Cannot sync iphone. Tried reinstalling previous itunes version, but previous version can't access itunes library, giving error message: "cannot access itunes library that was created by newer version of itunes." Have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes multiple times. Have turned off all other processes to look for incompatibility, but issues remain. I am NOT PLEASED!.

Adobe Photoshop Incompatible with Windows 7 ?

I typically do not have problems installing Microsoft products, Corel products, HP products, AV software, dozens of other companies products on my Windows 7 Home Premium computer. I have never had problems installing Adobe products on ME, XP, Vista. However, every recent Adobe product I have purchased have failed to install on Windows 7 Home Premium and it typically takes support several hours to fix, if it can be fixed at all. It involves creating new accounts, disabling services, disabling the UAC, doing partial restarts (I did not even know those existed) and normal restarts, etc (I do have administrative rights on my account(s)).
Today I was working with customer support (taking control of my desktop). We did not succeed to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.
During the installation a windows dialog box was displayed which stated that the Adobe installation .exe file was incompatible with Windows UAC.
There is clearly something wrong with the Adobe installer because Adobe products are the only products that cannot be installed.
Why is it so difficult tp install Adobe products on a Windows 7 system?
Does anyone know what is going on?
Is the Adobe installer really incompatible with Windows 7 as the Windows dialog box stated?

I finally succeeded to install.
I was using the downloaded version (not the DVD), I should have mentioned that. I did two things. I turned off the UAC (as suggested) and I moved the installation files from my user account folder where they were placed by default (I initially just accepted the default). The user account was protected despite my administrative rights, which is why install using setup.exe in the user account location failed. I have a feeling that I would not have had to turn off the UAC or move the files out of the user account folder if I had run as administrator. I'll remember that next time. It is funny customer support did not see this.
Anyway, now it is installed

PPro 1.5 incompatible with Windows 7

I just upgraded laptops and have been eager to continue editing with Premiere Pro 1.5. However, the program will not upload and gets stuck during the initialization process at GPUPagecurl.aex. Is version 1.5 incompatible with Windows 7 and if so, is there a fix/patch?

Personal aside - I feel that the min. requirements are awfully low. They are basically enough to install the program, and launch it. Trying to edit anything with a min. system will be horribly painful, if even possible.
It is good that you read of the min. system requirements. I would not attempt to go with something below those.
Now, with about Photoshop CS, Adobe finally issued a min. video card statement for PS. It was 128MB VRAM min. I still ran PS CS for a few years on a Matrox G-450 64MB video card, without issues. Now, this is VASTLY different than CPU, RAM or HDD setup.

Adobe Reader incompatible with Windows Internet Explorer 9

I recently installed the update for Windows Internet Eexplorer 9 on my laptop (Vista Home Premium) and have installed the latest Adobe Reader as well.
After installing Windows IE 9 I found that I was not able to view any letters etc online where Adobe Reader was required.
I tried all the suggestions in the associated help screen to no avail, so I finally 'uninstalled' the Windows I E 9 update and magically I was once again able to view online letters etc.
I am wondering why the latest Adobe Reader is incompatible with Windows I E 9?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe IE9 is not supported with Reader9, but everything should work as usual. I have both on my machine and am able to use them without any problem.
Try repairing Reader from Programs in Control Panel.
