NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M compatibility with Adobe CC?

It seems really odd that a late 2013 iMac wouldn't be able to run Adobe CC on it - or, at least, wouldn't be able to support Adobe CC with its Graphics card. The graphics card is GeForce GTX 775M, and I've just been told that the software can't be supported by it. Will there ever be support, or an updates that will allow this?

Which program, and have you asked for help in a specific program forum?
This forum is about the Cloud as a delivery process, not about using individual programs
If you start at the Forums Index http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use
Click the "down arrow" symbol on the right (where it says ALL FORUMS) to open the drop down list and scroll
I do know that "will this card work" questions are common in the Premiere video editing forum, with the answer generally being "yes, if you have a driver that works"
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

That card was not tested with After Effects CS6 (11.0). That card didn't even exist when After Effects CS6 (11.0) was being developed and tested.
See this page for details of changes for After Effects CC (12.1) regarding GPU usage:

Will  card nVidia geforce GTx 760 work with premiere pro?

Yes, the GTX 760 will work nicely with Premiere on the PC. What version? With CS6, you may need to delete the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file from the Adobe folder.

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M or 780M iMac, which one to choose for PS CS6?

    Hi,
I'm planning to buy a new iMac 27", 16MB, 3 TB fusion drive. But for the graphics I don't know (and cannot find) what is best (would be sufficient) for Photoshop CS6 (and Lightroom-5). Would the standard GeForce GTX 775M 2GB be enough for my use or will the GeForce GTX 780M 4GB give a really better performance? It’s not the budget that’s holding me, but sometimes you get too much unused power in your Mac. I use Photoshop and Lightroom for (sometimes extensive) photo editing and not for video or 3D.
    Murk

    Musch Imac,
Did you ever post your findings?
I'm in a similar situation.  I want to get a new Imac in the very near future (few weeks max).
The areas i'm not sure about getting as options are:
    1) I5 vs. I7 -> tho leaning towards I7
    2) Nvidia GPU 775m 2gb vs. 780m 4gb  -> tho leaning towards 775m
From my research if I go with the I7 then I could probably skimp on the GPU and get the 2GB 775M
Currently I do not nor do I plan on any gaming.   Photo and video editing is at a bare minimum - HOWEVER, photo and video editing is something I'm interested in and would like to pursue.  With the Imac, once you buy it, you can NOT change or upgrade.  So i'm thinking better to be safe than sorry.
Having said that, do my poins 1 and 2 above make better sense?
    Thanks,

  • NVidia Geforce GTX Titan compatibility

Right now I'm using CS5 and want to upgrade to CS6.  I would much rather upgrade my card and my software rather than just the video card. Before I buy the new nVidia Geforce GTX Titan for my system, I would like to know it will be compatible. I haven't seen it on the list of suggested cards, but it is fairly new. It seems to be the card to get, but the Quadro 6000 is what is recommended. The specs for the 6000 seems to be far lower (by over half) than the Titan, so I am not sure why I would buy it, except that it is definitely compatible with other nVidia Pro Video cards. I don't use SDI since I am using cards to shoot video and I use my computer for Post-Production. I also use Blender 2.66 for 3D design and animation in conjunction with AE and Premiere to clean up, edit and render out video. I am using a Quadro FX 5800 for my video card, but it is quickly becoming a dinosaur, which is pretty amazing to me that it lasted this long in the tech world.  I realize this seems like an nVidia question, but it straddles both companies. Since nVidia has worked closely with Adobe for so long, I was just wondering if anyone knows. The Titan seems to run circles around the 6000 for half the price. How I would end up using the Titan would be as an engine and use the 5800 as the display card to allow the card to be maximized.

Just wondering if you read my reply ?
Looks like I can upgrade the memory with 24GB of G. Skill Ripjaw series DDR3 1600 for about $200.
    Looks like a good plan.
The i7 can be upgraded to the 990X for about $1000 (and overclocked less than my 950)
and overclocking the 950 to 4.0 - 4.4 GHZ is free, saves you around $ 1000 and is about equally fast.
and the nVidia card upgrade to the Titan for about $1100.
which is absolute overkill on this system. You will not notice the difference with a 660 Ti for around $ 250.
Include the $375 for the upgrade to CS6 and I'm under $2700.
AFAIK the upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6 is $ 525 in the US and around $ 900 in Europe.
    If you follow my advise, the total cost is $ 200 + $ 0 + $ 250 + $ 525 = $ 975.
That saving goes a long way for a new system, but you still would have to get that Samsung 840 Pro SSD.

  • NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 980 supported by Adobe CC?

    Hey Adobe,
    Quick question: I'm upgrading my PC and need to know;
Is the NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 980 Graphics card (GPU) supported by Adobe CC?
Specifically premier Pro / After effects / Photoshop and Audition.
It's not on your list of supported cards page...
    Thanks!

The GTX 980 works well with:
"Specifically premier Pro / After effects / Photoshop and Audition"
The only GPU acceleration worth talking about is Premiere Pro, and yes it does that fine.

    Thanks

    Hi,
The NVIDIA GTX 770 will probably not work in your PC.  There are been reports that the NVIDIA GTX 770 is not compatible with many different motherboards.  The power supply has more than enough power and  perhaps might be too big as some HP PCs will not even boot up with PSUs over 650 watts.
The motherboard in your PC only has a 4 pin ATX power connector which might be another reason not to use a high performance graphics card in your PC.  Enthusiast level motherboards use an 8 PIN ATX power connector to ensure that adequate power is available.

  • Is nvidia geforce gtx 675mx card compatible with fcpx

Is the Nvidia geforce gtx 675mx comes with the new iMac 27" compatible with fcpx?
I could not find it on Apple's list of cards required or fcpx

    It should be.
I have only heard about issues with the 640mx card..
But FCPX uses OpebCL and other system API's to use the GPU, so if someting is not working, it should be the OS having issues..

  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 485M GPU - Anyone Used It?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new Sager laptop for CS5.5 MC.
I have the options for the Nvidia GeForce GTX 485M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 Video Memory, or the Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M Graphics with 1GB DDR3 Video Memory. The difference is ~ US$500, and pays for a bunch of other options.
Unless it has just been updated, the GTX 485M is not directly supported for hardware MPE, but I assume that by applying the hack for that card, it should work. Does anyone have experience with that less-expensive card?
My old workstation (soon to be replaced too), has a Quadro FX-4500, which has been a stout card for years, however was crazy expensive, and I never have really put it to the test, considering what I do.
If I have to go with the FX 3800M, then so be it, but I'd rather buy more toys.
Thanks for your observations and thoughts,
    Hunt
PS - I know that Sager's biggest market is the gaming world, but it is getting harder to get a top-level laptop without SLI for dual-nVidia cards/chips, or Crossfire for the ATI/AMD. As soon as I take delivery, Adobe will probably announce that PrPro NOW fully supports SLI, but I'll live with it.

Hey, it would not be the first time, that I was the "new kid on the block," with something, but not lately...
Will probably go with it, and then run the Benchmark, just to get it listed. The Quadros are nice, BUT not sure that the laptop would really benefit from one, and especially to the tune of + US $ 500.
    Thanks,
    Hunt

  • Problem with Matrox Mini, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570, Premiere 5.5.2 and After Effects CS5.5

    Hello,
We have a couple video workstation PC's in our office.
Premiere and After Effects have been crashing lately with increasing frequency - about every two minutes now.
    Here is the setup:
    Hardware
Matrox Mini - Matrox Utility release 5.5.1
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 - Driver release 275.33
Intel Xeon X5660 2.8 GHz processors
    24 GB Ram
    Software
    Adobe CS5.5, specifically...
    After Effects 10.5.0.253
    Premiere 5.5.2
    Windows 7 64-bit
We have two 21" LCD monitors in dual display running from the computer, and the Matrox Mini outputs a preview signal to a 15" CRT.
The crashes occur when I have After Effects and Premiere open at the same time. I am editing in a Matrox 720p29.97 timeline in Premiere. I imported several compositions from AE into Premiere through Dynamic Link and am matching audio with the animations in comps. When I switch back to AE to make an edit in the comp, After Effects generates a crash warning and then gives me the opportunity to save the project under a new name. After saving, it closes down completely. The Matrox WYSIWYG Control Panel in the system tray crashes during AE's crash, disabling the preview to the CRT from Premiere and AE. Since the Premiere sequence is a Matrox preset - in order to have output to the CRT - this freezes the timeline; the video and audio no longer play. When I save and then try to close Premiere, Premiere freezes and will not close without a force quit via the Task Manager.
In order to deal with this temporarily, I am editing in an AVCHD 720p30 sequence preset in Premiere, which doesn't send a preview feed to the CRT, obviously, since it's not a Matrox preset and the CRT is connected via the Matrox Mini. It's more than a minor inconvenience, since I use the CRT for color accuracy.
It is frustrating, since we did not have this problem until the recent CS5.5.2 update. We have tried changing drivers for the GTX 570 and changing the Matrox utility software to other versions, but no luck.
Is there a combination of GTX 570 drivers, Matrox software releases, and AE/Premiere settings that will make this work? I know there are "Known Issue" posts with Nvidia cards on Matrox's website, which include the GTX 570, but, again, this problem started with the Adobe CS5.5.2 update.
Any help here would be great, and I am willing to provide more information about the system and our crashes if it helps find a solution for the community, as I know this is not an isolated problem after reading Nvidia's, Matrox's, and Adobe's forums. I just can't find a hollistic solution on any of the individual manufacturer's forums.
    Thank You.
    Jordan

I've been running with Matrox for years, starting with the Axio LE. I do 75% broadcast work and find that the Matrox works very well with my kind of workflow. Monitoring is critical and since we have to deal with 3rd. party solutions, Matrox was my pick dating way back to 2006. Sure I've had frustrations with it, but I've made far more money off Matrox than frustration.
       Here's my nearly crash-free setup:
    Gigabyte GZ-X58A-OC moboard
Intel 990X (only overclocking to 4.0)
    24Gb of Kingston HyperX Ram
    GTX580 Graphics Card
    Matrox MXO2-LE w/Max
Crucial 240Gb Sata III drive (the one that has a nearly perfect score on Newegg's site)
    2 x 2Tb WD Blacks Raid 0
    2 x 1Tb WD Blacks Raid 0
Win 7 Ultimatte (it's a high-end version of Windows that's great for keying!)
    CS5.5 Suite
    Boris Red 5
    Boris Continuum Complete 8
Trapcode Shine, Form, 3d Stroke, Starglow, and Particular
    Optical Flares by Video CoPilot
The reason I list all of that software, is that it all seems to get along together, including with Matrox! So, I can't say I highly endorse Matrox because I've never tried Black Magic or running an external monitor off of my video card.
I use After Effects with all sorts of plug ins and rarely have crashes. If I put in a long day I'll have the usual crashes here and there (mainly with PremierePro), but nothing that has required evan a soft reboot of the computer.
My frustration with Matrox is mainly the delay that often comes with Adobe coming out with a new release and Matrox taking 2 or 3 months to catch up, though when Adobe went from 5 to 5.5, there was no delay at all.
I think that a lot of the people who trash Matrox probably haven't used a Matrox product in years. But before you listen to me, I must confess that I was an early adopter (and advocate) of SSDs and even today, many people on this forum think they're still a waste of money!
I'll close by simply saying that I've not left Matrox after 5+ years, but keep in mind I haven't had the bad experiences that so many others seem to have had, but again, perhaps they had those bad experiences long ago.

Will Premiere Pro CC work OK with Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M?

This laptop I am on right vnow has a n nVidai GTX 765M and it works beautifully on Premiere CS6, CC and CC 2014.  You do have to add it to the Adobe file "cuda_supported_cards.txt file or simp[ly delete it.  I hope you know that you have to be plugged in to the AC line to successfully what to edit with a laptop.  Also you can improve the GPU performance if you reset the memory clock on the GPU to 1500 MHz from the default 1000 MHz.  It is because nVidia.slows down the clock to conserve battery.  If you register on the site you can see my results on our Premiere Pro BenchMark (PPBM) site.
