Nvidia graphics card problem

Hi. I have a 2009 Mac Book Pro. Recently, I changed HDDs, and installed the Windows 8 Consumer preview. I then installled Assassins Creed Brotherhood, but when I opened it, it was very slow and had sticky graphics. I looked to see if my graphics card was working properly, and I found out that my computer didnt recognize the graphics card. I found out it was running off my 9400m Nividia card. I know I have a 9600m card with much better specs, fully capabile of running ACB, but I could not get if to work. I installed dozens of Nvidia drivers, tryng to get it to work, and tried every inf alteration that would spposedly fix it, but I never found a solution. What do you sugest I do? It cant be Windows 8 causing the problem, because Microsoft used the same platform as Windows 7 to write Windows 8. Where can I get the correct drivers?
P.S. I lost the CD that came with my Mac Book. I was told that might have the drivers.

Bad video card memory. In the past on a desktop that meant a new card. Are you overclocking the 860?

  • NVIDIA graphics card problems

i was running halo demo on my mac book pro with 4 GB Ram and High Res screen plus NVIDIA 8600 GeForce graphics card and dual core processors running at 2.4 GHz and every time i got shot with a plasma weapon or an explosion occurred, my screen would go completely white and my motion detector is just a light blue square. i know that i have the power with this new mac, so what is the problem, the nvidia website has no driver updates for mac os x so someone please help me, what do i need to do

the problem is that Apple write their own drivers and the ones that they have written for nvidia are hopeless. I personally find that to be a pretty outrageous state of affairs, when you consider how much a top of the line MacBook Pro costs. To be specific: it's outrageous that they install nvidia cards on new machines before they've written decent drivers.. If you pick up an OLD Mac with an OLD ATI card, you'll get much better performance..
Also, lets be clear that the apple engineers are not stupid. They know about this problem but there is obviously not the Corporate will to solve it asap...
Sad. And for professional applications it makes me want to go and buy a (shiver) PC..

  • Premiere Elements 9 crashes with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards under Windows 7

I've just installed Premiere Elements 9 and found that it will not run at all with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards active under Windows 7.  Per all the other discussions, I updated the NVIDIA drivers and Quicktime support to the latest versions.  (NVIDIA version 260.99).  I have both a 9400 GT and an 8400 GS installed, to support multiple monitors.  They both use the same driver.  The PRE 9 organizer will run, but as soon as I create or load a project it quickly crashes.
On a long shot I disabled the 8400 GS card in the Device Manager and now I can run PRE 9.  Of course this means giving up one of my monitors.  Any other ideas?

Over in the Premiere Pro area (or maybe it was in the Hardware section... didn't pay a lot of attention 'cause it really didn't matter to me) I read a message about using two nVidia cards with no problems (other than no dual-card SLI support)
I **think** that was with two SAME model nVidia cards
And, of course, PPro is completely different code, so PreEl may simply not work with two nVidia cards

  • NVIDIA Graphic Card doesn't work on T430S with Windows 8

My T430S laptop runs Windows 8 and has a NVIDIA graphic card. Somehow I was never able to enter the NVIDIA control panel and got the error message below. I checked the setting in BIOS and it seems that NIVDIA Optimus mode is not availale on Windows 8. I updated the most recent driver released in Feb 2013 from Lenovo but it didn't solve the problem. I was wondering how I could use the NVIDIA on my compueter.

    Hi, jumper1127
There is also a BIOS update availabe for your machine that came out around the same time as the Optimus driver. That can be found here and may help your issue.
Best of luck. Let me know how it goes

What is an SMC reset? The gfxcardstatus worked. Partially. I now know something is either wrong with the nvidia graphic card or its software(the hd 4000 one is better from a performance test by individually testing both cards).
How does the apple exchange work? Just walk in with the Mac and they resolve/replace the Mac or what? Any ideas?
    Thanks

The reset is a little tricky and might take a few tries before you do it successfully, keep eye on for the colour change on the magsafe connector

  • How would I be able to run iTunes through my nVidia Graphics card?

I would like to run iTunes through my nVidia Graphics Card, because the visualizations when playing music are running slow...
The option however in the nVidia Control Panel for iTunes has been disabled...
Two programs - Not Games - have been compared to show what I'm talking about...
This is iTunes' settings... Number 2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program - Disabled
    Now...
Google Chrome's Settings... Number 2.  Select the preferred graphics processor for this program - Enabled
And I'm able to select the card I want the program to run through...
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanx in advance

    Thanx Nightangelg
This does present a temporary fix to this problem, but would like to run it from the original iTunes.exe file as well.
I tested the visualizations again and it couldn't run smoother
I will send nVidia a ticket as well, although I think it might be Apple that need to enable something in their exe file?
I am not an expert in program development though, so i might be wrong.
    Thanx again

  • Non NVidia graphics card issues with Adobe and Mountain Lion

It took me a while to figure it out, but now I am certain. If using a Mac with a non nvidia graphics card there will be issues in Mountain Lion while using Adobe products. I tested this with Illustrator CS6 for over a year on 5 different Mac computers.
    Here is what happens
As soon as I open Illustrator on a Mac without a NVidia graphics card and I attend to apply an shadow effect, Illustrator crashes. If I do this procedure on a Mac with a NVidia inside, all works well.
I tested this on the following Macs
MacBook Pro (Early 2009) with NVidia 9600M GT - it works
MacBook Pro (Early 2011) with Radeon 6750M - doesn't work
Mac Pro (Early 2009) with Radeo HD 5770 - doesn't work
The same Mac Pro (Early 2009) with NVidia GT120 - it works
MacBook Air (Mid 2012) with Intel HD 4000 - doesn't work
iMac (Late 2012) with NVidia 680MX - it works
Since I owned all these Macs, I could test it several times with different kind of software updates. 10.8, 10.8.1, 10.8.2 and 10.8.3 did deliver the same result. Everytime the same result.
Already got in touch with Adobe
With Illustrator CS5 it worked like a charme, so I assumed it could be an Adobe issue. But Adobe support told me, it's Apple's fault since 10.8 uses different processes for the graphics performance.
What can be done, to resolve this issue? I cannot buy only Macs with NVidia inside, since the small portable front of Macs is only coming with Intel graphics cards. And is there anybody out there, having this issue? I cannot be the only one, using shadows in Illustrator.

A typical response.  IMO it's most likely a combination of Adobe's reluctance to fix the issue combined with Apple's desire for advancement and change.  I've personally experienced several things that've become broken owing to Apple changing fundamental aspects of the OS, and the developers of the third-party software in question have either never fixed their software, or are taking their sweet time.  WireTap Studio and Snapz Pro from Ambrosia are a case in point, though they eventually fixed Snapz Pro.  Eventually…
Frankly, good luck getting either side to do anything about this.  Your best bet is probably getting in touch with AppleCare and seeing if you can get this escalated to Engineering, but I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix from either party.  Or perhaps one of the Apple mailing lists will prove useful.

  • Is it possible to upgrade MacBook Pro 15inch iris pro Retina display version to Nvidia graphics card?

    Hi
I purchased a MacBook Pro 15inch iris pro Retina display version (£1599) recently.
Can we upgrade  tit with Nvidia graphics card?
    Thanks

In USA, you can return a Mac within 14 days of purchase and buy a new one with the desired spec.
Retina MacBook Pro cannot be upgraded once bought.
    Best.

after a restart it works for a time, but always slow. I went to the Applestore this afternoon and the made a check and said it would be the logicboard and they would have to change it for CHF 600 and it would be ready in 10 - 15 days

Please start by updating NVLDDMKM.sys driver. You can also report that to NVIDIA Technical Support.
If this does not help, proceed like that:
    Update all possible drivers
    Uninstall all unused programs
    Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
    Perform a clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Disable temporary all security softwares you have
Run memtest86+ to check your RAM. If an error was detected then replace the faulty RAM or contact your manufacturer Technical Support for assistance

  • Is anyone still having discrete graphics card problems after replacement

Is anyone still having discrete graphics card problems after replacement?
Macbook Pro eligible for replacement through Apple program.
Submitted my computer 2 days before program came into effect.
They replaced card or logic board with same original model: AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB
Issued me a refund check for my repair.
Seems to have some noticeable issues, fan running more than usual again, and temporary graphic lines,
but disappear too fast before a screen dump...
Is anyone who has participated in the replacement program received a different graphic card for
Model Macbook Pro 17" (late 2011)
    Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately I have yet to call AppleCare because I am on a project for 3 weeks and cannot be without my laptop during that period....
Until that time I am trying to figure out what I can do to protect the Palm Rest/Mouse Pad area of my Macbook once they either fix it or give me a new one. Has anyone had any experience with either of these products that can provide some input as to whether they are good or bad?

  • Why can I not see Nvidia graphics card when i click "more info" on my 15 inch macbook pro?

I've just purchased a mid 2012 macbook pro
its supposed to have an Nvidia graphics card, but when i click "about this mac" --> "more info" i only see Intel HD 4000 graphics card. Is this ok? Does this mean that somebody opened my macbook and stole the card :- /

Nope - it's likely just the card in use at the time when you do the More Info...
...to check to see if the card is 'there' hold down the option key and select System Information from the Apple menu. Go under Hardware>Graphics & Displays and two cards should be listed.
    Good luck,

  • NVIDIA Graphics card is not found on my U510 ideapad

    Hello,
I bought this specific laptop because it said it came with a NVIDIA GeForce 625M (1GB) graphics card installed. I have downloaded several drivers, and always get the same error. It says that a NVIDIA device cannot be found on my system. I have the U510 IdeaPad. I have gone into the control panel and checked out the display adapters, and nothing shows up for NVIDIA; just Intel (R) HD 4000. I would like to know how to access my NVIDIA graphics card, because as far as gaming goes, I can do next to nothing with the Intel card.
    Thanks!

    hi amcalvert,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you verify that this card was present before,
There are models that does not have the Nvidia on it but Intel HD alone.
You can send me the Serial Number of your computer through private message and let me check your system's Original Configuration.
    Thanks
    Solid Cruver
