  • NVidia GTX 970 or 980 experience

There has been some issues reported surrounding the Nvidia GTX 970 addressing memory above 3.5 GB (it comes with 4 GB Ram).
I think this issue is likely a non issue with Premier or other cc products.
Does anyone have experience with either the GTX970 or GTX980 that you would like to share.
I am considering the CC version and these cards appear as if they would do well in a probably configured machine.
    Intel i7 - Windows 7 64 bit - 32GB Ram - SSD Drives, etc.
    Thank you.

We have a number of very good results with both boards on our Premiere Pro BenchMark (PPBM) web site.

  • NVidia GTX 970 loses compatibility with OS X 10.10.2 updates

    Hi
Running a MacPro (early 2009), 2.66 Quad-Core Intel Xeon. Recently installed an NVidia GTX 970 GPU to aid in video and graphics production. Upgraded to Yosemite from Mavericks and installed the NVidia web-driver (343.02.02f02) and CUDA panel and had it working fine.
I ran software update today to get my printer set up (HP F380) with the drivers provided through Apple Software Update, as directed by the HP website. Updates pictured below.
When I restarted my Mac, as prompted by OS X. The display failed to display. Using my (trusty old) Macbook to screen share to see what was going on revealed that the current NVidia web-driver is incompatible with, I assume, something in that update list. Looking at the NVidia section of the System Preferences shows the NVidia options greyed out and the OS X Drivers option selected. Pictured below.
Contacted NVidia to check I had the right driver. They claimed the card wasn't supported in OS X and that I should ask Apple. So here it is. Anyone else have or know of this issue or, even better, know a way around it?
    Thanks in advance.

  • GTX 970 Problems

Hello, I am having a problem with the GTX 970.
Before you read this I would like to say I did try to put "prefer maximum performance" in NVIDIA control panel yet it still wants to conserve that power...
To save even more time reading this,
SUMMARY:I would like to know if there is some type of fix to totally disable nvidias power saving abilities.
Well, previously I owned a MSI R9 270X. It was a great card did what I wanted it to do.. and never cried to hard when I pushed it..
Now I bought a GTX 970 to replace it. Those games that ran smooth with the 270X, stutters with the GTX 970.
Obviously I went to investigate why this happend. It is because the GTX 970 has bad power management (or nvidia thinks it was good, but really hurts the card and should have a kill switch for it  )
The stutters are caused when GPU load is high, then the GPU load falls to idle levels quickly due to a change in scene (A DIGITAL SIGNAL TYPE OF FALL SERIOUSLY?) or a low graphics intensive area, then at that low load, the game throws a l lot of tasks at it and the card seems to be caught off guard by the sudden jump in tasks it needs to perform causing the stuttering as it tries to throw itself back up to perform well again.
The 270X does not ( or at least this is what I think. I could be wrong) have any stutters because it assesses that the highest load that the game will be and should be the load that it stays at at all times (OR Power Consumption which ever one controls all)...
    Turn down for what???
Nvidia (power efficiency at the cost of performance)
    AMD (stays turned up)
    JJ WATT (Stays turned up)
    Thanks for the help guys..

what is your driver and vbios version ?
Try update to the latest one?
You could try to use afterburner, and set "Force constant voltage".
but it may disable the self protecting function of the card, you have to doing this at your own risk.

  • Nvidia GTX 970 and Matrox Mojito MAX Premiere Pro CC 2014

    Good day everyone,
I am building a workstation and I would like to ask, if I can use both of the cards, The GTX970 for rendering and Matrox Mojito MAX for monitoring? I know, that Matrox card is hardware accelerating h.264, but is it faster than GTX970? If i can use this combo, how can I set? If i set the Mojito to preview, can I set the Mercury settings in the project settings for GTX970? Will it work? Thank you for respond.

The Matrox hardware has nothing to do with the Mercury settings. When you go to File > Export > Media, you will have options for "H.264" and "Matrox H.264" - choose the Matrox option as "Format" and then you will see dozens of presets to choose from. These will use the Matrox Max hardware acceleration. You can do your own test between similar presets (Adobe and Matrox) and decide for yourself which works better for you. Again, this only affects EXPORT and not "editing" in Premiere.
    Thanks

  • Nvidia 970 gtx gaming problems

I got yesterday the nvidia gtx 970 gaming but it has a coil noise but in the video of msi says no noise or anytype can be heard and all reviews says it ws fine but one said it has coli whine it was load.
is there a fix or bios up date

No reviewer on this planet will tell u that his reviewed card has coil whine, how bad the coil whine is, how loud, how it sounds etc.
Can u post a video to hear it ? Also keep in mind that every video card has coil whine, some have bigger and very loud, like a whistle, and some have a very small cound like a tzzzzzzz only at 99% usage.
A coil whine is not considered an issue, there is no fix for coil whine. The only possible fix, is just to play games with the card, maybe, just maybe in 1-2 weeks or more the coil whine will be less noticeable.
Also, if ur coil whine is very loud, and makes whistles sounds, u should RMA the card. U could get another coil whine card, or u could get a more silent card. Its just a lottery.

  • Is my system compatible with GTX 970?

I have HP P7-1235 with MS 7778 (ver. 1.0) motherboard. I have recently purchased MSI GTX 970. When I put in the card and try to boot up the system, it freezes with Starting Windows sign on the display. From a research I have done it seems there might be a problem with my MOBO and/or BIOS version being compatible with the card. The BIOS version is AMI 7.07
    I am running Windows 7.
Could anybody tell me if there is a newer version of the BIOS I need and or any other solution so I can run the GPU?
Or do I have to get a different GPU. Is so which one is high performance GPU compatible with my BIOS and MOBO?
Thank you in advance for any help.

    Hi,
Unless your PC has a version 8 BIOS then don't count on the NVIDIA GTX 970 working in your PC even with the correct power supply installed.
Your PC has a version 7 BIOS.
Either of the below MSI graphics cards should work with the 300 watt power supply in your PC.

  • Will a GTX 970 be able to use with h9-1350?

As the title suggest, I want to know if the newly released gpu from NVIDIA - gtx 970 can be used with the model h9-1350, like power requirement, etc...
I'm planning on upgrading but I'm not an expert at this.

    LongHuynh, welcome to the forum.
The first concern that I have is with the length of the card.  It is 10.5" in length.  I am not certain that it will fit with enough space for good airflow.  You can make a template the size of the card to see if it will fit.
The card has 2 6-pin power connectors.  You should check to see if your power supply unit (PSU) has these connectors.
Last, it may require UEFI in the motherboard, instead of, a standard BIOS.  You should choose the manufacturer that you want and contact them to see if this is the case.  The manufacturer that you choose may have different specs for their card, also.  I took the information that I listed from the nVidia website.

  • Will I recieve Witcher 3 and Batman: AK if i buy the MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4g

Ill be buying the card here in Croatia so Im wondering if Im gonna get the free games, because Nvidia said everyone who buys an Nvidia GTX 970 will recieve those 2 games.

Usually its the shops/retailers that supply the game bungle not the manufacturer of a product so call the place you are planing to buy one from and ask them!
from the Promotion "And from now until June 1st, you can get The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight for free when purchasing one of these graphics cards from participating e-tailers and retailers."

  • Will a HP Pavillion 500-569 support a gtx 750ti or gtx 970 mini

Hello. Will this computer(HP Pavilion 500-569) support a geforce gtx 750ti or a geforce gtx 970 mini if they fit into the case? If so will I need to do anything additional(other then put a new power supply with reccommened wattage etc) before/after I install it? I have read about some issues with UEFI and other factors on other graphics cards on HP and other computers not supporting certain cards and I want to be 100% sure. Thank you so much
    http://www.futureshop.ca/en-ca/product/hewlett-packard-hp-pavilion-500-intel-core-i5-4590-1tb-hdd-8g...

    Hi,
The HP Pavilion 500-569 only has a 300 watt power supply. The NVIDIA 750ti should work if it's not a model that requires an auxiliary six (6) PCI-E power connector.
The NVIDIA GTX 970 will require that a bigger power supply be installed in your PC.  The Corsair CX600 would be a very good choice for a power supply.
Open up your PC and do some measuring in parallel with the PCI-E x16 slot to see how long of a video card will fit. The slot adjacent to the PCI-E x16 slot needs to be vacant. Look carefully at the motherboard and makes sure that components on the motherboard don't interfere with the installation of the video card.  Review this posted article.
