Nvidia Networking Controller Drivers in Vista BootCamp ????

I have installed Vista 32bit in BootCamp 3 on my new 13" Macbook Pro, all seemed fine but for some reason, Vista does not recognise the Nvidia Networking Controller driver installed from the bootcamp drivers, it says it failed to load the driver when checked in Device Manager.
Also, I have problems which I think relate to the Broadcom Wireless driver too. Signal strength when running in Snow Leopard is full bars, no problems. But when booted into Windows the wireless signal strength is one bar and oh so poor.
I have to move within a couple of meters of the router to get a good signal.
What is wrong with these drivers ???? i thought Apple supported Vista ????
I have read elsewhere of people suffering at the hands of the poor Broadcom driver, is there any update from Apple for this, or does anyone know of a new version of the drivers from Broadcom at all that give better performance ???
Same with the Nvidia driver, anyone know what to do about that, Apparetnly you can't just go to Nvidia and download the Nforce from there as the Apple OEM drivers are different and I dont even know which Nforce version the laptop uses anyway.
Please Help - Going Insane - Grey - And VERY bald!!!

Anyone have any ideas about this at all ????
I have updated bootcamp to 3.1 now but nothings changed. I did switch on Afterburner, disabled low power consumption and also changed the driver to use b/g/n auto which has helped slightly but not dramatically. As I have said OSX runs full signal so I know theres no router signal issue.

In Bootcamp Asistant there is an option to download the support drivers. Plug in your USN and tick just that option and let it download them. It will take a while as it's downloading more than 700MB

  • Refreshed pc and lost all network controller drivers

Upgraded to Windows 8. Made file history backup then clicked Refresh My PC & it uninstalled ALL of my Network Controller Drivers, so no more Network connections or settings of any kind. The only Recovery DVDs are for W 7. Do I have to reinstall 7 & then 8? With my 3 System Recovery DVDs, I also got an Application and Driver Recovery DVD. Can I Use that one to recover just the drivers I need without reinstalling the whole W 7 system from the other DVDs? Much Thanks in advance!

  • 15-e020ax specification request (USB + network controller drivers windows 7)

    Hi there,
The long and short of this is that I can't get find Win7 USB + internet drivers for my HP Pavilion 15-e020ax notebook, because A: win7 isn't supported and B: there are no specifications provided by the Hp website -
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=29031&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=u...
Am I in the wrong place? I don't mind going hunting for the appropriate drivers, however the AMD chipset drivers didn't work, and a computer with 1 functioning USB port on it and no net is... well, a doorstop ;-)
If anybody could advise as to where the product specifications are available, and/or where I can find drivers that would enable me to use my usb ports + lan/wifi, that would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Dean
PS: A note to the HP staff, I wish to contribute to the body of user feedback, if you're open to it :-)
Although the physical machine is an exceptional little beast ( ^_^ ) the lack of support for Windows 7 on this and the other HP laptop I bought (an awesome 17" e049wm) have left me struggling for several weeks now simply to get them operational. Most of the clients I work with (especially in empoverished regions) have just barely moved from Vista to 7, and I was surprised to buy two ~fresh-off-the-press laptops that couldn't handle Win7 (I refer the forum administrators to http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp).  If the wc3 statistics are correct, Windows 7 use has decreased by 2% since the advent of Win8 in 2012, and is still far and away the most popular operating system in the sample. This is more than 3 times the user base of Windows 8. More than 3 times.
Sweet, /rant :-) I hope you would consider this and forward it to the appropriate section of your otherwise excellent company. Cheers!

    Hi:
I don't work for HP, but HP only supports a handful of consumer PC's with drivers for windows 7.
They will never release a full range of driver support for all of their consumer products.
I'm sure that is because it costs more to develop and maintain drivers for multiple operating systems, which would drive the costs of the consumer products up.
HP only provides support for multiple operating systems for their business PC's.
HP is aware that the general market is not reacting favorably to W8, and therefore has introduced a small line of new consumer PC's that do come with W7.
If you want to purchase HP PC's with windows 7, here is a link to the models available with that OS.
    http://shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/static/page-hp-windows7?jumpid=ps_r329_hhosem&aoid=51410&...
The good news is that you can install W7 on almost every HP consumer PC on the market if you are willing to, and know where to find the appropriate drivers you need.
I googled the model you are working on, and you need to download and install the amd chipset drivers and reboot.
You want the first file listed on the webpage.  That will install the smbus and usb 3 controllers.

I don't know what model wireless card that model comes with, but I can post the link to the driver you need if you do the following...
Go to the device manager, find the Other Devices category, and click on the Network Controller needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the network controller window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that and select the second item on the list (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that begin with PCI\VEN

  • Want to connect to internet on nvidia network controller on p4n diamond

Im trying to trouble shoot why my router when im on my diamond that caues my router to restart randomly and want to use the nvidia connection to connect to the internet but I cant. I was told by  over hearer that it means I cannot connect because its software disabled but wasnt abliged to tell me how to  un disable it.  i want to enable it to rule out my router needing to be replaced.
it is a d link di 624 router 2.71 (.71 because it was a firmware to attempt to fix the restarts)
    thanks

Replug back to the nvidia LAN and Right Click Network places > Properties > Right click on nvidia 10/100/1000Mbps Local Area Connection > Click on configure button > Got to Speed and Duplex > Set to Auto or 100 Full or 100 Half > Click apply and ok.
Next, go to command prompt > type "ipconfig/all", check if your system is receiving any IP from the router. If the IP reflects as 169.xxx.xxx.xxx, then you are getting the APIPA IP from Windows which is incorrect. Check your nvidia LAN point and see if there's any blinking light. If there is, the connection is still alright and you should type "ipconfig/release" in command prompt. It should take about 1 ~ 2 mins on releasing the current IP and when you type "ipconfig/all", you should see 0.0.0.0 at the adapter address. Once this is done, you'll need to type "ipconfig/renew" to grab another set of IP from the router switch and this will take 1 ~ 2 mins as well.
If there's an error while trying to release or renew IP in command prompt, I reckon it to be the LAN point problem either on the mainboard or the router.

  • Probems with msi 875p neo Fis2r and network controller driver

Hi guys just wondering if anyone could help me with my msi 875p neo FIS2R and problems with the network controller driver/network card.
I'm running xp on a computer my nextdoor neighbour gave me. I got it working fine  with service pack 3 installed but then installed a bunch of windows updates last night and the computer would switch itself off before windows could start. Now I reinstalled xp and unfortunately it does not recognise the network controller/card at all now. I tried installing the intel network controller drivers but it stopped because it said no intel adapter/card was installed/present. Could anyone please help with suggestions? I tried running everest and under newtwork it doesnt list intel network adapters but I'm pretty certain it is. Again any suggestions?

Hi, I am a new user of Solaris and Linux and I am having a problem with my internet connection under solaris.... i was reading other messages in the forum and apparently solaris doesn't detect my network adapter because when i run ifconfig -a it only shows lo0....
I went to nvidia.com but the drivers on their website are only for the graphics card... where can i get the requiered drivers (and how do i install them under solaris) for my internet connection to work???

Hi, I am a new user of Solaris and Linux and and I am having a problem with my internet connection under solaris...<snip>
    Javisam376
    Hi,
Same problem here Javisam376, but I am on an AMD x64 platform, and wondered if that might be the reason why the Solaris Express Developer Edition was unable to see the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller, so I wonder which platform you're on (32 or 64-bits?) A general Google search for "Solaris NVIDIA nForce Networking problem" gave a fair number of hits, so the problem, seems well known, but no solutions were suggested by anybody, as far as I could see(!?)
But it seems the Linux community has the same problem, since I found this posting on LinuxQuestions.org (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=471094):
"I just finished installing Red Hat 9 on my machine, which is running off of an AMD/NVIDIA nForce2 chipset mobo that has integrated ethernet. I was trying to set up my network connection, but was unable to locate the nvida ethernet controller in the Network app/Network Configuration Wizard. So I went on to nvidia's site and downloaded the x86 linux driver (using my other machine) and used a cd to pop it into the other comp... Saved it to the desktop,
    then terminaled: sh NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0310-pkg1.run.
It took me through a setup screen where I 'installed a audio and ethernet driver'. I checked the Network wiz again, still no entry for it. So I randomly clicked the hardware browser, and IT lists the 'nForce2 Ethernet Controller' under network devices, but I can't configure it from this screen. Anyway, I would seriously appreciate any help with this. I need to get internet access on this machine quick, so this is drivin' me crazy."
