Nvidia or msi?

Ciao, where are the best driver for my mobo?  With 4.24 nvidia, i play only Counterstrike, the pc freeze for 3 4 seconds, with 3.13 nvidia the pc freeze for 3 4 seconds,
with   http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=436&kind=1
the 2th...     the pc freeze for 3.. !

Remove the chipset driver.
Run the setup once it has extracted everything, cancel the setup.
Go to the folder and delete the IDE driver.
Then run the setup in this folder, not the EXE file you downloaded.

  • MSI driver - new NVidia driver: MSI Info/Clock

    Hi,
I first used the MSI driver for my new MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 AGP. I don't use any other MSI software.
I now uninstalled this old NVidia (MSI) driver and installed the new NVidia driver. The "MSI Information" and "MSI Clock" tab remain. Do they still work (D.O.T. , etc)?
Can these 2 tabs only be installed with the MSI driver on the CD that came with my card?
    Thanks!

Quote from: MrBigA on 10-February-05, 23:31:35
k tabs are controlled by msicpl.dll and will not removed, you will manually have to eradicate the file yourself. It should be in the windows directory but if you cannot find it just do a search."
I now deleted the msicpl.dll from C:\WINDOWS but the tabs are still there.
There is one more msicpl.dll in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
Which one is the right one? Both? Or is one from Microsoft? Can I savely delete the one in \SYSTEM32 ? Should I restore the one in \WINDOWS?
    Thanks!

  • Nforce drivers which one ? nvidia or msi ?

i need to know which ones gives you max performance ? either nvidia ones or msi's ! .. i had msi nforce3 drivers so i uninstalled them and installed nvidia's ones , i also have a nvidia gfx card , so after installing nvidia nforce drivers i was getting BSOD , so i had to format windows and installed msi's ..
BSOD = may be msi drivers were in the reg and never got uninstalled properly  so i m gettin BSOD so you get BSOD if u put nvidia nforce3 having a nvidia gfx card?
so how many of you are using nvidia's ? and which ones better?
    my os windows xp sp2

    I've always used nvidias drivers , realtek's sound drivers  . Now latest 5.10 .
    Xp sp2 no problem here.
MSI drivers are made by nvidia of course .
The MSI 5.03 driver package was something in the middle of nvidias 4.27 and 5.10
when it comes to some of the individual driver versions .
After all : For graphics cards most people always use ATI's site for ATI cards and nvidia's site for Nvidia cards.
Same should apply with chipset drivers .

  • [GeForce 6] Energy warning by nvidia on MSI gf 6600 gt

Hi, i have a big warning by nvidia saying that the clock of my video card has been automaticly lowered (underclocked) because the card doesnt get enought energy (this only occur under full load). My power suply was 400 watts, i Changed it for a 500 watts power suplly. Had no problem afet i change it. One week later y sold the card to a friend. the warning apeared once in windows, not enven in full load.
My question is: Does this really means that the card doesnt get enought energy or could be something else?
the card is a MSI gefore 6600 gt agp 8x 128 mb vivo
    sorry for my english.
none of the pc are overclocked.
My Pc: athlon xp 2400 (core B), 768 mb ram (ddr 400), MSI kt4 ultra, Powe suplly 400 then 500, Seagate barracuda80 gb serial ata, cd rom, dvd rw, 3 case fans
His Pc: Athlon xp 3200 (Barton), 1 Gb ram (333), 450W power suplly, cdrom, dvd rom, cdrw (independant), Msi kt6, hard drive (dont know witch one), 3 case fans.
    Big thanks
    Puco

Hi, his PC needs more power than yours, and also could you please look at the stick in th PSU and post here how much amps do they have (yours and his), it should be like this: 12v 18a, 5v 30a and so on. And again he has a more powerful PC and ot means that it needs more power.
Off topic: It happened to me the same two days ago, I was starting to play Far Cry, and the big warning came out, also I noticed that my VGA Fan stopped running after that. I gues my PSU cannot support my rig anymore. I have 6 fans connected in my rig, but I tried to add another one, when I connected the others started to run slowly, I could hear that, I did twice for a couple of seconds to see if I was wrong but no way, I can't add more fans (we're having 33 ° C outside... is getting really hot here  ) What do you think guys? I don't want to hijack Puco's thread, it was just a comment, I know, I have to change ASAP my PSU.
    Kind regards

  • Nvidia or msi drivers

i was wondering whether it's better to use nvidia's vga drivers od msi's versions. i have nx6200 td128e and have always used nvidia's drivers but now i'm having second thoughts since msi's drivers are optimized for its own products and contain all the supported options including DOT.

    vladomkd,
Always go with the Drivers from the Chipset maker, no matter what hardware we are talking about. In this case, go with the nVidia ForceWare Drivers

  • Should I use nVidia or MSI Drivers for my new MSI VGA card?

    Hi,
Im just about to replace my old (non-MSI) Geforce 4600 TI, with a MSI FX 5700, and i'd like to know, should I use the MSI drivers on the MSI CD, or should I just use the latest nVidia driver from the nVidia web site?
    thanks for any help

Yes,but the drivers 6X.XX are optimized to the Geforce 6 series.I don´t think I will gain any increase in perfomance if I use the 61.77 driver, for example, instead of the 56.63.And MSI drivers allow DOT,which is safer way of overclocking

  • Fade-off with MSI T-128 (nVidia geForce FX 5200) PCI card

Request you to please help me out for this problem. Its dam sure something wrong in the card driver or BIOS settings as its occurring with any OS.
This is my last ray of hope, with a expection that some MSI people will help me out, else I'll have to throw the f**king card to bin. Sorry being unprofessional, but it seems that I have wasted my money banking on the brand MSI/nVidia.

    1. Asus K8N motherboard (nVidia chipset, NO on-board graphics)
    2. MSI T-128 (nVidia GeForce FX 5200) PCI graphics card

  • NForce3: MSI 5.03 vs. nVidia 5.10

Has anyone faced off the MSI 5.03 (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=572&kind=1) drivers with the nVidia 5.10 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html) drivers (5.11 has bad Ethernet drivers)?
It would be nice to know how each performs in comparison to the other.
However, even with similar performance, what features do they offer that are different?  It seems that going the MSI route uses Realtek audio drivers whereas the nVidia route uses the basic audio drivers…or is there more?  What does each offer?
    Just curious.

It seems to me that the only reason to go for nVidia or MSI is for what sound drivers you want to use.
Skippy, can you name any bugs?
In some cases the realtek drivers are the cause of some poor performance issues in games & DVD playback - such as "stuttering", freezing & outright crashes on occasion.
I had some of those very issues when I used the onboard sound w/realtek drivers. The problems went away when I replaced the with the nvidia version.

  • MOVED: Extremely Low Performance - nvidia gtx 860m - MSI GE60 2PE-489XPL

This topic has been moved to GAMING Notebooks.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=255963.0

Have you tried the official graphic drivers (both Intel & NVIDIA) from MSI?
    http://www.msi.com/support/nb/GE60-2PE-Apache-Pro.html#down-driver
Select your OS and proceed to download them.
Usually Intel & NVIDIA drivers are generic and they won't support some OEM machines which were equipped with some specialized graphic cards quite well. Sometimes workarounds and fixes are missed or not patched in generic drivers after some periods so they may cause some problems.

  • Extremely Low Performance - nvidia gtx 860m - MSI GE60 2PE-489XPL

    Hi,
I've got problem with my graphic card. I have tried to upgrade my video drivers(to most recent one) with nvidia experience, and it showed me a critical error (I dont know if bad performance is becouse this error, or error was an effect of something else). Then all games became laggy, I cannot get more than 10 fps in games like dragon age or farcry 3 (before it worked just fine), when I'm doing 3dmark test it shows me:
    3DMark 11 - 850 pts (700 from graphic performance, 4000 from physics);
3DMark Vantage - 17000 pts (so quite good, as it should be)
I have tried doing 3DMark 11 tests on different battery mode, with or without a/c connected, and after changing the drivers, always the same. I have reinstalled all the drivers and everything what is connected with graphic card (I coudnt reinstall directX 11), I have changed global settings of nvidia drivers for high performance (I set 860m as my main graphic card). Ive made clean install of drivers. What should I do next? What can I do next? I've bought witcher 3 and I can only look at it
    My laptop: i5-4210H (2.9 GHz, 3.5 GHz Turbo, 3 MB Cache), 8gb DDR3 (1600 MHz), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 2gb, Intel HD 4600, Windows 7

  • MSI Geforce 3 Ti200 Driver Updates for ME

Why can't the drivers be updated past 44.03 in Windows ME?

    Yamaha CDRW
    Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro
    Microsoft Intellimouse Optical
US Robotix 56K modem (until NOV. 20, 2003 when cable broadband available   )
I run all my games on WME so that I have more RAM available for the game (XP is memory hog) and because my flight control setup (CH Force FX {14 programmable buttons}, CH Pro Throttle {20 programmable buttons}, CH Pedals) is not recognized in WXP.
I received HALO as a birthday gift. It loaded fine. I ran it and it continually locked up at the main menu screen of the game. The Audio part of the game continued to advance, but the video got stuck. My wife loaded the game and tried to run it and got the same results, she has only WXP for an OS on an MSI K7T 266 Pro 2 RU motherboard. She upgraded her MSI Geforce3 Ti-200 TD Pro drivers from MSI 44.03 to NVIDIA 52.16 and HALO then ran flawlessly.
MSI has upgraded drivers 45.32 and Nvidia has upgraded drivers 45.23. Both of these drivers locked up my machine each and everytime I installed them. My machine runs the NVIDIA 56.12 drivers without any problem on Windows XP PRO. I had to uninstall the MSI 45.32 and/or NVIDIA 45.23 drivers and reload the MSI 44.03 drivers to get WME to boot up. HALO will not run on the 44.03 drivers. One of the techs from microsoft called me at home the last two nights in a row to try and resolve this issue. Conclusion at end of night one was updated video drivers needed to be installed. Conclusion at end of night two was that there was a hardware problem with the the conclusion that video card was not accepting drivers above 44.03 for the Windows Millenium Edition Operating System. There was no listing at either NVIDIA or MSI video driver site for any drivers beyond 44.03 other than NVIDIA 45.23 or MSI 45.32 respectively.
The burning question is this: As with some of the previous NVIDIA drivers are the new releases compatible with all of the operating systems? I ask this because looking in the NVIDIA 52.16 drivers folder that gets extracted I see references in the read me file to W98,W98SE,WME. Why does the MSI Geforce 3 Ti-200 card accept the NVIDIA 52.16 drivers with WXP PRO and not the NVIDIA 45.23 not the MSI 45.32 drivers with WME (and I assume W98 & W98SE?)
    Interested in the response.
    Thanks.

Judging from the problems I and several other people on the forum have mentioned, there seems to be a problem with the nVidia 45.23 drivers and video. I get a grey screen with vids unless i turn down the hardware accel to almost nothing. Other people can get vid to show on their tv out. So if you havn't tried an older driver version yet, maybe you could use the good old xp driver rollback in the video device properties.
