NVIDIA Tesla C2075 Disappeared after nvidia driver update

Hi,
I have 2 NVIDIA cards, the primary is NVIDIA GTS 450 and the secondary is Tesla C2075.
After upgrading
linux 3.6.9 => linux 3.7.9-2
nvidia 310 => nvidia 313.18-3
nvidia-utils 310 => nvidia-utils 313.18-1
opencl-nvidia 310 => opencl-nvidia 313.18-1
The cudaGetDeviceCount function in CUDA didn't recognize Tesla C2075,
and cudaGetDeviceProperties couldn't find it as well.
Strangely enough, Tesla C2075 still shows up in nvidia-smi and nvidia-settings,
and some programs using opencl-nvidia interface could recognize Tesla C2075 as well,
the problem is only with CUDA programs....
I tried reinstalling cuda5 and recompiling the binaries,
switching the Tesla C2075 to the primary video card,
but they didn't make any difference.
Any idea on how this could happen?
Now I just down-graded nvidia driver and Tesla C2075 shows up in CUDA programs again....
Thanks.

[update]
Strange enough, the issue just disappeared with the latest update,
i.e. linux-3.8.4-1 & nvidia-313.26-1

  • Start up error and beats audio crackling after realtech driver update

    I am having several issues.
If I plug in a external hard drive, the OS will not start and goes to "press esc for start up menu" in lower left corner on a black screen. I press esc and it goes to boot options.  I have done what HP states and hard started my computer twice and it did not help, and I have found no other suggestion to try and fix this. I have tried everything, including a system recovery and it still goes to the start up menu options.  If I disconnect the external, it will still appear, but the operating system will start up after a few seconds.  Why do I have to disconnect my external to start OS.  And for some reason, my external has been seated in the hardrive section of my computer, instead of the removable storage devices in my computer.
Also, after updating realtech driver, my beats audio speakers pops and cracks. I tried to roll back driver, but no changes. Please help. I dont want to go thru the trouble of sending my computer back for repair. This is really upsetting!!!!  I cannot play any videos or music, because of the crackling.  Why did it do that, and is it fixable.  My laptop has not been jarred or dropped in any manner to have caused any damage.  It started after the driver update, and even tho I rolled back the driver, it still does this.

    Hi @rbuckner35 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 17t-f000  Notebook and issues with Beats Audio and startup issues. The startup looks at the USB as one of your Boot options. So it can not load anything until it know that this is not a boot device.
You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which could resolve the issue with the sound.
Here is a fix that has helped others.
    1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
    2. Click Playback Devices.
    3. Click Speakers.
    4. Click properties.
    5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
    6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.
    7. Apply the properties.
    8. Click OK to close the properties window.
    I hope this helps.

  • Blank screen after display driver update Satellite Pro P200

I installed the latest ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 display driver (8.432, from the Toshiba site via Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. On rebooting everything looks fine as far as the Windows Vista Business "Please wait ..." screen, but instead of displaying the login page I get a blank screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as normal). All I can do at this point is power off, and I've run out of ideas on how to get any further.
    Things I've tried:
    # booting into safe mode, low-resolution video or last known good configuration all result in the same blank screen.
    # connecting to the system using remote desktop (to disable the driver) isn't possible because the system hasn't loaded the network drivers yet.
    # I can't revert to a restore point because Vista can't find any (I made a manual one after installing windows updates on a couple of days ago).
I can run a command prompt from the system recovery options and would prefer to use that to disable the driver +if+ I knew how before resorting to the more drastic options.
A web search (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ati+catalyst+vista+blank+screen&hl=en&sa= N) reveals that this has happened on a wide range of laptops with
previous releases of the driver, but none of the links I've looked at give a solution that's available to me.

No joy with an external screen so I bit the bullet and reinstalled from the product recovery disk. I tried expert mode to retain the data partition but that failed twice, so I had to restore it from the previous day's backup after doing a full reinstall. Two consolations, though.
    # It allowed me to increase the size of the data partition.
    # The display driver update worked fine on the fresh install.
Needless to say I've since found [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927525] which describes how you can disable a problem device driver (atikmdag in my case) from the system recovery command prompt :-(
Hopefully the instructions in there will help anybody who gets caught with similar problems.

  • Badge icon disappears after 2.0 Update

After installing the Podcasts 2.0 update I noticed that the badge icon for the number of unread podcasts had disappeared. I  am an experienced iPhone user and went through the normal trouble shooting steps of syncing, uninstalling an reinstalling, but the bange icon always disappears after applicaton of the Podcasts 2.0 update.
Has anybody elso noticed this behavior?

yeah an option would be good.
i'm still not sure myself whether this is intentional or a bug. especially as if you go in to the app and mark a podcast episode as played then go back to the full episode list again and then go back and mark the same one again as unplayed, then exit the app, it then shows that change on the badge app icon count, which as it's not a recent download but just recently marked as unplayed does seem a little buggy to me.

  • Photosmart C4780 - Prints extra page even after HP driver update installed

With Mavericks (OS X 10.9.4) installed, I have noticed that completed print jobs remain in the print queue for my HP Photosmart C4780 when printing from Safari and Preview.  If I want to print another (different page), I usually have to delete the previous (100% complete) job from the queue so that the printer will print (I seem to recall that sometimes, with a Google Chrome browser, this is not necessary).  If I close my MacBook Pro's lid (which puts it to sleep) with a completed print job remaining in the HP queue, it will then print again for a second time.
Today, I installed the driver update below, but the problem did not go away when I tried to print from Safari and Preview.

  • CD/DVD completely disappears after Windows XP updates

I had this happen twice now, on my 3 year old Toshiba Satellite P35-s605.
The internal CD/DVD drive works fine, then all of a sudden, it completely disappears from the system. Discs do not play, and the drive does not show up in Explorer.
Likewise, it's the same with my external USB CD/DVD drive; it works fine, then it no longer shows up even though the USB "boing" indicates that the computer reads that a device has been connected.
The last time it happened, I reinstalled the original recovery disk. That seemed to correct the problem. It disappeared again after a Windows XP update (I have not yet added any software besides the OS).
Has anyone had this problem, and has anyone solved it?

  • Video card error after new driver update

I have a nvidia gt 630 video card in this pc.  It has a 450w power supply, 8g ram, and windows 10 pro.  With the upgrade to windows 10 the videocard quits working with the new driver.  I have spent the last 5 days trying fixes with nvidia they recomended I try HP so here I am.  When I check the error I get a window pnp error and it said further installation required.  Nvidia thought it might be a bios issue but it was fine before.

Nope, it's not a hardware issue.
The cause, yes. However, that firmware update might have – a guess – broken the hardware forever. Again, it could just be coincidence. I am not able to rule that out from the distance. You have two options: Wait for a firmware patch (which might do a lot of magic and repairs hardware) – or go for Nokia Care Centre.
    Sensonic wrote:
Taking the phone to the Nokia Care Center and replacing the mother (main) board is not (IMO) a reasonable cure for this problem.
The first step of bug fixing, is getting aware of the bug. Nokia Support Discussions are designed in such a crazy way, that this step might not have taken by this thread. I am just an end-user like you, but there are very different statements whether this board is monitored by internal support.
By the way, the next step is to reproduce this bug – for this, Nokia requires a faulty unit, normally. Therefore, I recommend to go for the Nokia Care Centre option – because waiting – until your warranty might be gone – might not be a good alternative.
Or stated differently: Sit and wait might end in catastrophe in this case.

  • Message access slower after VXI driver update

    Hello,
Actually we have this configuration : PCI-MXI2 linked to a VXI slot0 in a rack containing around 10 signal and measure boards of every type.
Computer is an old one under windows XP SP2, with NI-VXI 3.5 and i don't remember VISA  version which is from the same date as NI-VXI.
All programs are developed with CVI 8.
We are using mainly message based communication for board command but we use register based communication for data retrieving.
Last week, we did something we should never do. We updated the VXI driver which was version 3.5 to an earlier one (I don't remember the new version).
After this PCI-MXI2 driver was re-installed and all communication with VXI as significantly slowed down. We lost 15% of cycle time on each of the test sequences.
I can confirm that message based communication has slowed down, but I cannot confirm if register based communication has slowed donw too.
We swaped PCI-MXI2 board from a PCI slot to another, no change.
After this, we took a ghost we had from one year before. But, as the PCI-MXI2 board was not in its original position, the driver of the board has been re-installed. And in this case, we lost again our cycle time.
Then we try many configuration and parameters change without success. As we have a second identical test bench, we compared every parameters, and even we took parameters from second bench and we installled them in the first bench (using the .cfg files for PCI-MXI2 and VXIslot0).
Eventualy, we put the PCI-MXI2 board in its original PCI slot and use another ghost. As the MXI2 driver did not re-install, we did not loose cycle time this time! We just have to retreive the modifcation we lost since the ghost has been created.
So actually, I consider the system to be fragile, because if anything force a MXI2 driver re-installation, we will loose our actual cycle time! And we don't know why and how to correct it unless using a ghost.
If someone has an idea, I still have the hard drive with "corrupted" configuration to test it.
    Thanks by advance!

    Hello,
Can you tell me more about the driver you have installed ?
What version of VISA do you use with your card ?
To determinate the version of NI VXI which has been installed in your computer, you can open a files "Readme.txt" which is in this directory :
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-VISA\Examples\DotNET4.0\VxiInterruptHandler\cs
Moreover, the last version of NI VXI (NI VXI 5.3) do not support Windows XP SP 2 :
    http://download.ni.com/support/softlib//vxi/Windows/3.9/readme.htm
If you have installed this version of the drivers, I suggest you to download an an older version of the drivers like NI VXI like NI VXI 3.8 :

  • No sound recorded on the internal microphone after SoundMAX driver update (Windows XP)

My internal microphone is not picking up sound after I upgraded my SoundMAX driver (available from the Lenovo website here) to version 5.10.1.571.*  It looks like this was a problem before and was supposedly fixed in 5.10.1.5520 which is included in the version I have.
I have tested the audio through the Control Panel utility, i.e., Sounds and Audio Devices Properties - Voice - Test hardware.  No dice: my voice could not be detected.  I also tested via the Windows XP sound recorder utility, i.e., Accessories - Entertainment - Sound Recorder.  Same result: silence.
In the Control Panel's Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, I have verified that the Default device for Audio and Voice (playback and recording) all are set to "SoundMAX HD Audio."  The SoundMAX software that ships with this laptop (also called "control panel") is very scaled back.  There doesn't appear to be anything interesting there to adjust.
    Thanks in advance.
    * I updated the driver because I was troubleshooting my original problem.  My plug and play Logitech laptop speaker suddenly stopped working.  Alas, that problems remains and I have created a new one.

    Hello,
Here versions of the Audio Features for Windows XP driver that I was able to find:
    5.10.1.5410 - download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/7ka112ww.exe
    5.10.1.5520 - download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/7ka114ww.exe

    5.10.1.5710 - download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/7ka116ww.exe
Hopefully, one of these will work for you.

  • X301 problems after installing driver updates - won't come out of sleep mode

We have a new X301 with Vista 32 installed. Things were working fine until I ran system update the other day. I've set the power options so not shutdown hibernate, however, after a period of time the system seems to go to sleep or to a screen saver and will not come out of whatever state it is in. The only solution is to power off/on the system.
I have an X500 where there were display driver problems if there was an external monitor (dual monitor) attached. The only thing I can think of is that either there is some similar issue with the X301 since we have an external monitor attached or there is something that was messed up with the drivers that were installed. I do have (for now) restore points before these drivers were installed but I'm not ready to take that drastic step yet (or a full system restore and start over).
Anyone experience this type of issue or have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Neil

Sadly, I had the issue resurface today. It went into standby/sleep mode while I was in a meeting (on battery power), and later I tried to wake it, and all I got was a black screen with a mouse cursor.
The keyboard brightness and volume keys on the keyboard were responsive (I could hear the audio level clicks as I changed it), but the visual overlay didn't show (where it shows the white speaker graphic with the bar of rectangles representing volume level). Also, the screen brightness keys did nothing.
I finally used Ctrl + Cmd + Power to force a restart. Luckily, my user account didn't get completely hosed like it did a couple weeks ago.
So, it looks like Migration Assistant isn't the culprit here. This is the system I just finished rebuilding. So it's either a bug in OS X/Mavericks, or it's due to an application I have running, or a configuration change I've made.
It seems to only happen when I'm on battery power, for what that's worth. I don't recall it ever happening when I'm plugged in. I have Power Nap disabled while on battery power, btw.
I'm going to enable SSH access so I can try to SSH in the next time this happens. Perhaps that will provide useful diagnostic info.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions?

  • Projects disappeared after 10.1 update + crash

After updating to 10.1, I let Final Cut do its thing when it opened - (consolidating libraries I think). During this time, it froze, and after a long time, I decided to quit the program as nothing was happening. After re-opening, hardly any of my projects showed up. I noticed there were several files in my Trash, which I restored, and managed to get most back, but at least one (important one) is still nowhere to be found.
I've tried looking in all of the restored folders and Final Cut folders, including the Final Cut Pro backups, as well as in my time machine (external hard drive), where I thought the old project versions should be (the project was stored on my Mac and backed up through my external drive / time machine).
I noticed that the 10.1.1 update (which I've installed since this problem occurred) says it 'Preserves media files if external drive or network is disconnected while consolidating a library' - I really wish I waited for this version, but I'm just really disappointed in the software that they didn't think of this scenario for 10.1.
Am I SOL? If anyone has any idea for finding my project, I'd be very happy.

  • /etc/cron.hourly disappeared after tonight's update.

    Hi,
after tonight's system update, the /etc/cron.hourly directory disappeared without any warning and now i get error message from cron "Usage: /usr/sbin/run-cron crondir" every hour, because the line "01 * * * *  /usr/sbin/run-cron /etc/cron.hourly" remained in root's crontab.
I can confirm this issue on both of my archlinux machines, they are both 64bit versions of arch.
    The list of updatet packages:
    boost-libs-1.47.0-1  boost-1.47.0-1  encfs-1.7.4-5
    freetype2-2.4.6-1  initscripts-2011.07.3-1  libass-0.9.12-2
    perl-list-moreutils-0.32-1
In my backups, i can see that the /etc/cron.hourly directory contained the "adjtime" script, which synced the system clock to the hw clock, which i find usefull.
Is this change intentional or shall i file bug report? If the change is intentional, where were the adjtime script moved?

    Wittfella wrote:
Hey tomegun, quick question - why is the --adjust not made at startup.  It looks like the rc.sysinit specifically uses --noadjfile and I cannot see a 'hwclock --adjust' anywhere in the startup sequence.
Say for instance, lets exaggerrate and my HARDWARECLOCK is useless and loses 1 hour/day.  At shutdown it is synced and adjusted, so that it is correct, no problem.  If my computer is off for 5 days, theoretically when I boot the HC will be 5 hours behind.  Wouldn't you have to 'hwclock --adjust' prior to setting the system time.
    Good question!
    This is the situation:
The kernel sets the time unconditionally from the rtc before user space is started (so before we can invoke hwclock --adjust).
hwclock can not adjust the system time gradually like, say, ntpd does. It will make the time jump (possibly backwards!) to the desired value. This is a no-go, as system time must always be monotonic or very bad and unpredictable things might happen.
To make matters worse, the driftrate is stored on /var, which is only accessible late in the boot process (as /var might need to be mounted first).
The only thing we can safely do, is to correct the rtc clock without reading it back into system time. We therefore do this at shutdown, so next time we boot the only error in time will be what is accumulated between last shutdown and boot. In other words your example is correct, and the clock would be 5 hours late (that said, an rtc clock which drifts more than a certain amount is not following the spec so should be considered broken). The silver lining here is that the errors will not accumulate. That is, if you repeat the process (shut the computer off again, wait five days and turn it back on) the clock will still "only" be five hours off and not ten.
Clearly this situation is highly unsatisfactory. I have been looking into other solutions (the hwclock maintainers seem uninterested in improving it as they basically assume people don't use it any more), and it looks to me that the ntp client Chrony does exactly what we would want: In the case you have internet access it uses ntp to get a correct time, otherwise it uses rtc, and it always keeps the rtc's driftrate calculated so it can make sensible estimates. Furthermore, the time is set in a way that ensures that systemtime is monotonic (like any ntp server would do), and we don't get the problem we have now that ntpd and hwclock steps on each other's toes.
If anyone has any knowledge/experience of/with Chrony, I'd be interested to hear about it.
