  • Nvidia vga driver, required files are missing

During installation of the nvidia vga driver in checking system compatibility stage it gives a message: installer cannot continue, required files are missing. The driver worked successfully on this same mashine with the same OS (Windows7). Now it is happening after fresh install of win7 with intel vga driver preinstalled. What is wrong this time?

    hi mike12362,
May I know what's the model of your lenovo PC (eg. Ideapad Y50-70 Touch) and the version of the video driver that you're trying to install (eg. GeForce 340.52 Driver).
In addition, if you have a system with dual GPU (eg. Intel+Nvidia), this uses the Nvidia Optimus Technology, thus, you will need to install the Intel Driver first, followed by the Nvidia Driver (these are custom drivers which can be obtained from the lenovo drivers page).

  • Equium L20-198 drive dosen't work - I/O Device Error

HI I HOOPE SOMEONE WILL HELP ME
I HAVE THIS NOTEBOOK FOR 6 MONTHS
EVERYTHING WAS OK TILL NOW, MY DVD DRIVE DOESN'T WORK AND I CAN SEE A MESSAGE
'THE REQUEST COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE OF AN I/O DEVICE ERROR
    HELP PLEASE

    Hi
Well, it seems that drive has a malfunction.
You can try to boot from the recovery CD and try to install the OS again. Maybe it helps.
If not so I would recommend contacting the Toshiba service partner in your country.
It sounds like you notebook is covered by warranty so I think all replacements will be done for free.

  • My cd drive dosen't work

so basically what happens is, that i put a cd in, it takes the cd i can hear some noises, then it makes a buzzing type of noise. then pauses, makes the buzzing noise again, then pauses and makes the buzzing noise for the third time and then spits the cd out. no screen pops up saying any error or anything. i've tryed multiple cds, and even a brand new one, none of them work, they all have had the same results. it used to play cds right away when i got it, it played like a total of 4 cds and now it dosen't play any. so any light u can shine on this dark situation will be much appreciates.

    Hello!
I have one of the original MacBook Pros. My optical drive has been choosy from the beginning. 10 CD's or DVD's will work fine and then the next one won't work. I've put up with it until today when I unwrapped a brand new CD and my drive spun it up 2 or 3 times and then spit it out. I've checked and there doesn't seem to be a fix other than to take it in to an Apple Store or an Apple authorized repair center and have them swap out the optical drive.
It seems that this is a very common problem among those of us who bought some of the first MacBook Pros. So common, in fact, that I think Apple (or Matsushita) should perform a recall on all these drives.
I drove an hour and a half to my nearest Apple Store only to find out it would take 5-7 days for it to be repaired. Since it is my work machine, I can't be without it for that long.
Hey Apple! Why don't you take care of us "early adopters" who believe in your product enough to buy the first generation. It is obvious that this is a widespread problem. There was another guy at the Apple store in Atlanta tonight with the exact same problem with his MacBook Pro. I've been an Apple user for 15+ years and this is the first machine I've had problems with. And this is the second problem I've had with this machine! My original battery died before there was a recall. My warranty had expired so I bought my first Apple Care warranty and now I'm glad I did.

See topic. When updating to xf86-input-evdev-2.8.2-2  xf86-input-joystick-1.6.2-3  xf86-input-keyboard-1.8.0-2  xf86-input-mouse-1.9.0-2 and xorg-server-1.15.0-1 X won't start and 'systemctl status kdm.service' states that the X server has died. According to Phoronix this should not happen.

  • ##SOLVED## VGA driver install crash. Ive tried everything!

    Here are the system specs.
K8N Master 2 FAR (original bios)
    2 X Opteron 246
    1 x 1gb DIMM Legend ECC REG DDR 400
    Enermax liberty 600watt
    2 Hitachi deskstar 8mb cache sata 120gb
    Tried graphics cards
    7600gs PCI-E
    7200 PCI-E
Now the issue I am having is the nvidia vga driver installer crashing. The screen flickers a few times (normal) then goes black for approx 2 minutes until a BSOD. Upon rebooting windows loads until a blank screen with cursor and then back to the BSOD. Booting into safe mode and removing the drivers allows windows to boot correctly but whatever I do I cant get the drivers to go!!!!
I have tried fresh installs of XP pro (sp1, sp2, sp3 beta) as well as server 2003 enterprise. I have also tried the two different vga cards along with three different driver releases. I have also tried both PCI-E slots. I have also tried installing under safe mode, same BSOD. If I had a PCI-E ATI card it would be a valuable diagnostic tool but unfortunately I do not so; have to try and eliminate the problem without it.
The weirdest part of the issue is that when the system was last used approx 8 months ago (I have been overseas) things were fine. Same exact hardware.... Any suggestion for things to try will be greatly appreciated because although a couple of years old now this is still a hell of a good system and I am most certainly not ready to give up on it.
I am downloading the latest mobo bios now and will update this post with my results. I am however not hopeful the the bios is the answer.

Thanks for the advise Bas. I had in fact tried memtest. Another thing I forgot to mention.
Anyhow I downloaded the latest nforce and forceware drivers last night and this morning (dial-up) and updated the BIOS (using the very handy thumb drive tool from these forums) to 1.42. Did a clean TinyXP SP2 install, installed the drivers and... no prob's at all. I'm not sure if it was the BIOS (I doubt it), the new nforce or the new forceware version but something worked. Its happily been running a simultaneous sisoft sandra and 3dmark 07 loop (crawling obviously but I wanted max stress) for the whole of the afternoon while Ive been out sailing with no prob's at all.
All I can say is thanks and see ya' round. I'm planning on modding' some large passive P4 coolers to fit the board; I know its going to be a job and a half but as I'm running a passive vid' card and whisper quiet power supply )dual rail Enermax... none of the common prob's associated thankfully) and drives I figure its worth it. I have the better (it would seem) revision of the board with the identical copper coolers (not the funky mismatched pair) and had considered new fans (70>80mm adapters included) but figure I may as well got the whole hog. Out of interest is there a forum post/site anyone knows of where people have submitted there results with various coolers?
I will post results here to help others anyhow when I have achieved something worth sharing.

  • Nvidia driver won't work

I can't seem to get my graphics card to work.  It is a GeForce 5500 and is supposed to work with the regular nvidia driver.  I have also tried using the nvidia-96xx driver with the same results. I am using the VESA driver right now
this is the error that i get:
    could not open '/lib/modules/2.6.24-ARCH/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.ko
    No such file or directory
NVIDIA: faled to load the NVIDIA kernel module
Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration
It was working a few days ago until an -Syu when the kernel was upgraded.  I messed with it for quite some time and decided to just reinstall arch and start fresh (I had been meaning to for a while anyway) but the problem persists on the new install too.
I don't know what to do, any ideas?
    thanks

Have you had a look in '/lib/modules/2.6.24-ARCH/kernel/drivers/video/' to see if the driver is actually there ?
The thing I would do in this case ( and I'm a notorious ass**** ! ) is logout, do a Console login, as root run
'xorgconfig', re-install the Nvidia driver (It'll bitch about it already being installed, just go ahead...) then reboot.
WARNING: if you run 'xorgconfig' it'll require your monitors horizontal and vertical scanning frequencies. If you don't know them you may be able to Google for them.
After any kernel upgrade / downgrade the Nvidia driver will require re-installation.
    Hope this helps...

  • 865pe neo2-s vga driver of website does not work

Hello I have an old build i gave to my mother whos needed it wiped now.  Don't have the disc anymore so I've gone onto the website and downloaded Intel 845/865 G/GL/GE/GV VGA Driver ver. 6.14.10.3943 and whenever I try to run the setup i get "this system does meet the minimum requirements for installing this software"
please help ive been at this forever and I can't seem to get it working.  thanks in advance

Lets start off the right way. You have more than a MB in that PC please tell us what it's made of. What OS, Win. XP? If so what SP, 1, 2 or 3?
"gave to my mother whos needed it wiped now."
What exactly do you mean by that? What did you do? We're not mind readers and we need to know what you have and what you did to have any clue of what to say to help you.

  • Getting nVidia 71xx driver to work.

I spent much of last night installing and setting up Arch Linux.  During the installation, I attempted to install the "nvidia-71xx" driver so I could make use of my Riva TNT2 card.  However, I met with a problem during the configuration: nvidia-xconfig was not present.  So, how do I go about installing and configuring nvidia-71xx now?

I managed to get nvidia-71xx installed, and I manually configured xorg.conf.  But now, ksplash is crashing whenever I log in.  Running "glxinfo" in the command line reveals this:

  • Xorg fails to restart with nvidia propertiary driver

    Hi!
Dear fellow archers, I've got this little problem which is driving me crazy: after first successful start of xorg while booting  ("kdm" is in the DAEMONS list in rc.conf), i can't get to start it once again (for example with "/etc/rc.d/kdm restart"). When I try to do this screen goes blank (+ single underscore in top-left corner) for ~10 seconds, then nvidia logo shows up for half a second, and finally it failbacks to terminal.
I use thinkpad T61 with nvidia quadro nvs 140m and nvidia driver version 190.42 (from extra repo).
Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

I don't think the 190 driver is intended for the quadro M series. As per the nvidia site, the 100 or 169 drivers support your video card.
edit: You might also try the nouveau driver.
Well, this quadro is almost identical to geforce 8400GS, so I don't think nvidia site is up to date in this respect. Besides, other than this issue everything works just fine. It is just annoying to be forced to reboot everytime I have to restart X. And I need nvidia propertiary driver, because I use opencl.
Thats odd then. I have an 8400gs and am using the beta driver without any issues. Give the legacy driver a try once.
    Exit the gui (ctrl+alt+f1)
    Remove the current driver
    pacman -Rd nvidia nvidia-utils
(replace with nvidia-beta nvidia-utils-beta if you switched to the beta driver)
    Now install the legacy driver
    pacman -S nvidia-173xx nvidia-173xx-utils
    Reboot
    Hope this helps.

  • Know about vga driver

    sir,
    i hv purchased hp-d009tu laptop.
i hv installed windows 7 32 bit, i need VGA driver to make webcam active, i hv downloaded so many drivers but none of them worked.
plz give me correct VGA DRIVER for the same...
    thnx.

Hi prateeek, welcome to the HP Forums. Unfortunately HP does no offer 32 bit drivers for your notebook. Windows 7 and 8 64 bit are available on the download page for your notebook: HP 14-d009tu Notebook PC Drivers
What if I Don't See My Operating System?
You can try Intel and NVidia for drivers, but since they weren't designed specifically for this notebook they will probably not work properly.

  • Need a VGA driver for lenovo 3000 H100 5310-2AA.. pls need some help here..

    Hi,
is anyone of u have the installer for the VGA driver ( for lenovo 3000 H100 5310-2AA) ??
or if u know where to download it pls tell me..
I tried download from the lenovo's official website but it didn't work, I dunno why?
it says "the nvidia setup program couldn't located any driver that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"
I confuse now.. I didn't upgrade or change any hardware since I bought it..
    thx

you seem to install Nvdia when you must have been using intel's drivers.

  • NVidia Capture Driver VS Leadtek TV Tuner problem

I previously have used Leadtek WInfast TV Tuner 2000/XP before I installed MSI Geforce4MX 460-VTP with VIVO.
I never installed the capture driver for the Geforce card though, because I do not see the need. Besides I prefer to use the tv tuner to record my tv programs.
Another reason why I didn't install the NVidia capture driver is because I realize that it will cause some conflicts with the Leadtek TVTUner card driver because both are actually installing the same device drivers for the same tv-chip hardware located on both card.
NVidia Capture Driver will install these hardwares in Device Manager:
    - Nvidia WDM Audio Capture
    - Nvidia WDM Crossbar
    - Nvidia WDM TVTuner
    - NVidia WDM Video Capture
while, the Leadtek TVTUner driver will install the same driver for its own hardwares:
    - Winfast TV2000-XP Audio Capture
    - Winfast TV2000-XP Crossbar
    - Winfast TV2000-XP TVTuner
    - Winfast TV2000-XP Video Capture
Surely installing Nvidia Capture driver & Leadtek TV TUner driver will cause WinXP confused because it finds 2 sets of the same hardwares.
As I previously explained, I currently didn't install the Nvidia Capture Driver, and relies mainly on the Leadtek TVTuner to watch tv programs.  The problem is when I tried to use some recording softwares like TVTools, these softwares will only find the NVidia TV Tuner hardware instead of my Leadtek TV Tuner.
How could I solve this problem ?
Is there any way to make both hardwares (Leadtek tv tuner & NVidia capture driver) work together ?

It's got to be either a configuration issue or an incompatability with hardware because I have installed several of those cards on friends and client PC's without a single problem. I will say they all had nVidia VGA cards and either the nvidia or via chipset. I also have one and I can't find a better card for the $ and the ease of use, nice clean straight forward GUI and stability.
Have you tried the latest drivers and PVS from leadtek's website?
This thread should be in the VGA forum with a link here just in case a user with your mobo has this card.
It's not in a shared slot is it? Have you looked for IRQ conflicts? Try removing the bluetooth and modem temporarily so you only have that one TV card, then check the IRQ's. If you have to move the card to another slot. The best slots are the second and third one down from the top (where the AGP slot is) and not the first and the last slot. Try operation then. Does this fix the problem? If so then you have to find the best slots for the BT and the modem.
    Good luck.
