Nvidia VGA has a hidden mode to OC through Windows.

Ok guys. I've managed to find out the hidden for the NVIDIA VGA mode. However, I've tried on my 6600 VGA and it's stabile for 6 months till now I'm using the same setting and managed it to OC at Core Clock@400Mhz with Memory Clock Frequency@670Mhz. Hopes that this setting can help you guys. Need to do some changes in the registry.Here's the procedure that I've done:
1) Go to START
2) RUN type REGEDIT
3) Under HKEY_Local_Machine go to Software
4) Under NVIDIA Corporation go to NVTweak
5) On the hand side RIGHT MOUSE CLICK to Create DWord Value
6) Then key in CoolBits (without any quote).
7) Go to CoolBits again then key in the Value Data into 3 existing was 0 then select Hexadecimal Base.
8) Then Save it.
9) Go to Display Properties select Advance
10) Then select GeForce (VGA name) then search for CLOCK FREQUENCY SETTINGS.
11) Then select MANUAL OVERCLOCKING and which setting you required such as 2D or 3D.
12) It's also can set setting by using the DETECT OPTIMAL FREQUENCIES.
13) Restart.
This also tide to NVIDIA VGA only not ATI. Tested so far is GF 6series and MMX400 64MB (Core Clock@315Mhz and Frequencies@320Mhz).

Old to some is new. Yeah the CoolBits hack is awesome regardless of its age. I remember pushing my old GeForce FX 5700 to 5900 speeds. Granted I killed two GPU fans (I blame that on the Shuttle SFF case. Heat pocket built up by the video card. In a regular ATX case there's plenty of ventilation), but the card still works to this day. It's installed now on my lil bro's rig. He may not have the latest and great but heck, he can install and play every PC Game on the market today. He's got:
Athlon XP 2600+
WinFast 748K7AA Motherboard
512 MB DDR333
75 GB IBM Deskstar
256 MB Albatron GeForce FX 5700
NEC DVD Recorder (forgot model)
Onboard sound card AC'97
I put it together for him from parts I had laying around and left over during the holidays. The rig is running great with the CoolBits as well.

Restoring an app that has been hidden by Show Desktop in Windows 7

Does anyone know if a way to restore/unhide an AIR app that has been hidden by the Show Desktop command in Wndows 7? I used AutoHotKey to remap the Windows-D shortcut but it still does not capture the Show Desktop button in the Taskbar. I thought if there was a way that an AIR app could know that it had been hidden and restore itself I could use a Timer or create an eventListener to handle it.
I am trying to replicate the old Active Desktop of XP and the goal is to make sure that the app remains on the desktop at all times. This is the last hurtle!

Open AI in c# in hidden mode

How can I open adobe illustrator in hidden mode directly from the c# code? Now when I create the new application object with
Illustrator.Application illuApp = new Illustrator.Application();
on the screen appears the window application. I can't change the visible attribute because it's read only and the application constructor hasn't overload method to specify how to open the application.

App icon in Dock dims when it has a hidden window

I have learned that when you open a photo in Preview, for example, then hide the open Preview window using Command+H, the Preview icon on the Dock will dim to indicate the app has a hidden window. Snow Leopard does not seem to do this for me, but it does work on a friend's Mac. Is this a bug or a setting somewhere to turn this icon dim feature on? Anyone?

Does Apple document anywhere on its web site or otherwise what an App's hidden's features are that would have to be turned on/off with Terminal? I would be nice to know what other features we can do on the Mac that just aren't available in menus, etc., except in Terminal.

Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Safari Opening by Itself (in hidden mode)

Out of the blue, while working on various projects, Safari will open in hidden mode, which flips me to the desktop it is assigned to. It is not in the login items and the Lion option to restore windows when quitting/reopening apps is turned off. I have tried clearing Safari's cache and resetting to no avail. Any advise you can give to remedy this is much appreciated.

Try deleting the cache associated with Safari. Sometimes this does a better job then emptying the cache from the Safari GUI.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.

Starting an app in hidden mode?

Hi!
I have several apps that are set to launch on login, and that I wish to have running in the background. I normally have to hit CMD-H to hide each window in turn.
Is there a way to have an application launch directly into hidden mode, preferably without even the window flickering on screen before hiding?

Open the Accounts pane of System Preferences, click on your account, find the list of login items, and check the Hide box for each of them. Due to an OS bug, some application can't be hidden through this method, but can be by adding the following AppleScript to the list:

the entry command (Applekey + Option + A) doesn't work on my PB G4 PPC 867MHZ.

Seems like it works after getting the 4.2.x update. However, I couldn't immediately get it to work. When I engaged caps lock, and then entered Cmd-Option-A, I got the Fight Sim info window.
I'll have to try this out... Thanks for the tip. After that, the option is in the Tools menu, even if you quit and restart. And just Cmd-Option-A goes to the flight sim window.

I am facing 1 problem. The valuation class field in accounting view of material master is in hidden mode for only 1 perticular plant . In all other plants I am not facing any problem. All plants are in same company code.
How to convert the hidden mode into madatory requirement of valuation class in accounting view for only 1 perticular plant?

HP pavilion a1310y has no sleep mode

HP pavilion a1310y has no sleep mode, I have been able to recover the Hibernate tab, but I cannot get the Sleep tab to become ungreyed out. I have tried to look for support on this issue, some state that the graphics driver needs to be updated, but I cannot find any drivers on HP's site or Intel's site. the only thing on the shutdown options are switch users, log off, Lock, Restart, the sleep tab is greyed out not selectable, and hibernate. Please help...... I used the cmd prompt and used the powercfg -h on to get the hibernate mode, but cannot figure out how to correct the sleep mode problem, also if the hibernate mode is used the computer will not come out of hibernate by any keyboard or mouse movement or keystroke. I will try anything at this point. Thanks

Verizon iPhone has a "world-mode" radio chip

I just saw an interesting article on engadget that says the iphone on Verizon has the world mode chip already installed. This means that technically it can support both CDMA (Verizon) and GSM (AT&T) if it were programmed to do so and if it had a sim card slot. This leads me to believe that the iphone 5 will also contain the same chip and that it will be released for both Verizon and AT&T this coming summer. Just a thought

Apple will ask you to do this before bringing a phone in for service.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
