NW 7.01 SP5: chart frame style. 'Neutral' vs. 'Primary' - no difference??

We had previously (pre-EhP1) developed some VC reports with column charts, nested iViews, lots of fun stuff. We used the 'neutral' frame style. Now we have upgraded to EhP1 SP5 and find (among other issues, hah hah groan ....), that the neutral frame style is no more! Well it is there in the menu, but it looks the same as Primary! Ack!
Could it be that there is a setting somewhere I am missing, that will make 'neutral' look neutral once more? Or is there anyway we can customize the styles applied to the standard elements?

I just wonder if anyone else has seen anomalies with the frame style behavior in 7.01 SP5. I just took a simple test model that was built from scratch in this version, and tried the different frame styles on a table. The only selection that seemed to have an effect on that one, was "transparent", and then it only removed the title bar. But, in an imported model (the one I was working on when I opened this question), I found "white" to work in the charts and "neutral" also worked for the tables.
Anyone else seeing this problem? Could there be some setting somewhere that could cause this?

Issue setting chart title styles.

Hello all,
For some reason I am having an issue with setting underline and color fill for the title.
-fx-font-size: 12px;
-fx-underline: true;
-fx-fill: red;
the font size works, but the other 2 do not. When in scene builder and this is put under "Style" I have to click .chart > .chart-title > -.text and it will switch the font size, but wont do anything else.
Am I doing something wrong?

Why does object frame style change when I re-size the object?

I am creating a catalog with lots of images that I anchor amidst text. I have created a simple style that just adds a 1pt black stroke frame, and apply to each. When I later decide to re-size one of the images (primarily by dragging with mouse with CTRL-SHIFT), I notice that the style has been over-ridden, and the frame appears altered. I can then successfully clear the over-ride, but what a pain. How can I avoid this? Is there a way to "mass" reset many such problems? Like Find/Change, object style, and clear over-ride?

If you can not see "Adjust Stroke Weight When Scaling" option in the control panel, you will need to enable it first.
Go to Edit > Menus > Category: Context & Panel Menus > Control Panel Layout Menu and then make sure "Adjust Stroke Weight When Scaling" has an eyeball selected to make this visible.

How to edit table frame style

I would like to know how to edit table style in front panel. For the example shown below, I would like to remove the gray color overcast frame.
I couldn't find the table style editor.

Problem when assigning image frame style via EDD

Hi all, it seems this is a bug - or am I missing something?
In the EDD, I use context rules to assign an object style to image elements. In this example, I simply assign "intitle" to all images for convenience.
When I open a DITA file and select an anchored frame, the dialog box tells me that the correct style "intitle" is assigned. However, the frame does not catch it's display setting, which in the example, is "in paragraph, and uses a default setting "below current line" instead.
Only after I select "keep" in the drop down list and then change back to "intitle" and click Apply, the frame applies the correct settings as defined in the object style.
Any ideas?

does the version of quicktime I have on my hard drive (10.0) affect the version of quicktime that final cut exports to or is it just affecting how it's played back outside of the final cut interface?
I just realized when I watch the exported mov file in RealPlayer (10.1.0) that jumbly image stuff doesn't happen, but there are still a few places where it seems like frames are dropped. RealPlayer is actually the only player on my computer that will play the movie in its correct aspect ratio, too.
In order to upload the file to youtube however, I export it to quicktime and then in quicktime do "save for web." When I try uploading the file to youtube without doing that first, the audio/video un-syncs and stuff. But there's no option in realplayer to save for web or to save at all, so i don't know how to get to that step.
if i needed an older version of quicktime, how would i go about that?

Displaying Korean in Frame style standalone application

I have desktop application and its user interface implemented in Frame class. I want to display/enter text in korean lang. I have
res-ko_KR.properties file contains korean equivalent texts. I also used native2scii with UTF-16 encoding on the prop file. However application doesn't show korean text. The app is running on Windows 2000 regular english edition and has korean fonts and IME installed.
Do I have to set font to Frame object or something like that?
I read on Font.Properties but just couldn't summerize how to use it and not sure if this a way to approach my problem.

In any case, let's look at images:
First, reference the "How to use Images" sectin of the Java Tutorial at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/misc/icon.html
The way I'd do it is to construct an ImageIcon class using
public ImageIcon(String filename)
Now, ImageIcon and Image are not derived from Component, so you can't put them into a Frame. BUT, you can put a JLable into a JFrame and the JLable can have an image. So you construct a new JLable like this:
ImageIcon myIcon = new ImageIcon("/images/duke.gif")
JLabel myLabel = new JLabel(myIcon);
Then put myLabel into your JFrame
myJFrame.getContentPane().add(myLabel);
(or put it in whatever layout manager and panel you are using within yoru JFrame)
That should do it. If you're going to be putting your code into a jar file then there is an additional bit of code that needs to be added. If you search for "Images jar" you'll find lots of discussion. Or you could go to my site at www.brouelette.com and look at the code for "One Hour Wumpus" to see the ImageLoader that I use that works in or out of a jar file.

SETTING THE FRAME STYLE

Do you know how you can change what buttons are available on the top right of the frame.
As a default there are the three buttons: minimise, restore up/down and then close. How do you create a frame without these buttons and how do you create a frame with just the close button.
I know that it can be done as you see frames like this everywhere.

Organizational chart, branch style with interactive bubbles?

Sorry new to adobe, kinda, I just bought the whole package of applications and was wondering which programs to use to make a flow chart with, interactive bubbles. Like the situation is, i want to make a weapon chart. Start with weapon, split into melee/range then again with bows, guns, swords, axes, ect... and then with each of those go into a specific detail, ex. katana, and then have a description on a pop out bubble. Any help would be appreciated.

Frame border in Gauge during drill through

Hi,
When I click on my charts or gauge to drill through, I notice that a outline of sorts appears when I click the object. I understand it is normal in charts as the specific series is clicked. But my problem is with the gauge. I have no frame for my gauge. But
when I click the Gauge to drill through, I get a outline of sorts.
I'm not able to post a image here. A almost black circle appear when I click the Gauge. This happens in the report server and report viewer and not in Visual Studio. The Frame style in none. I have two Range. I have checked the all the possible properties
with no solution.
Kindly let me know if I have to look elsewhere.

Looks like even when the Frame Style is None when clicked for drill through, an outline or border of sorts appears according to the Frame shape.
It was circular in my Gauge. I have changed it to rectangular. So it does not look odd anymore.

Dynamic Combination Chart

I am using Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 to generate an RDF that will be deployed to the application server via the rwservlet.
I need to create multiple combination charts (about 20). Is it possible to create the charts dynamically based on a query (repeating frame style)? Or do I have to create each graph manually (fixed)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please mention it clearly when exactly the data changes in your chart.
In which properties you have bined the excel cell. Test it manually by changing value in the excel binded cell and check wheather the changes are happening or not.
Take and spreadsheet and bind it to MAX fucntion cell and Chart Array values and record the changes during run time.
It may help you to record the changes happening during runtime.
Through this you may find a solution for your problem,
If still the problem pertains please provide the Xcelsius SP version and fix pack

Can someone help me please? I read many pots but i wasn't able to find a solution to my problem. I also have a look to HTMLB_SAMPLES, and SBSPEXT_HTMLB, but i didn't understand well.

Hi,
if I were you I´d better work with views and controller classes instead of pages with logic. In this way you don´t have to send parameters from page 1 to page 2 and you don´t have to trigger an event so that page 2 is called and method OnInputProcessing is executed.
Change the type of your pages to views, create the controllers for each and the controller class(es) behind it. If your development is very complex I´d create a model class, so that variables and common method are available to all controller classes and pages.
You have the advantage that you don´t have to hang parameters into the URL, which then must be read by page 2 when somebody presses button X in page 1. This method could be insecure, because it is easy to ready parameters from the URL by a hacker. Additionally, how do you expect to trigger an event in page 2 when the event really happens in page 1 ??

Exporting Frame content to Word?

Hi,
I am working on manuals that have been done in both Frame 7.2 and Word 2003 and am hoping to migrate to a newer version of Frame some day.
Right now I'm trying to update a few Word-based manuals with some content from Frame docs but it's slow and tedious.
If I cut a range of text and graphics from the Frame doc, and do a Paste Special -> RTF into Word, all I get is the text without the original formatting (the Frame styles don't survive the cut and paste). BTW, Word offers only RTF and text as methods for Paste Special. Then I have to cut and paste each graphic with Paste-> Special -> Bitmap. The SOP here is to embed all graphics rather than link them.
Can anyone advise if there is an easier way to move content from Frame to Word? If it's possible in a later release, then that would be motivation to upgrade.

The filters in newer version of FM seem to have evolved slightly, but the Best Practice solution is to buy a copy of MIF2Go from omsys.com and use that to export. It's the only solution that maintains most of the look and feel of the FM documents and doesn't drop data on the floor.

You can select the individual elements(for e.g chart title,legend,chart frame,grid lines,individual bars and series risers etc.).
To do this do a normal left click and then again a left click on the desired object within the chart(which will select the object), and then do a right click which will come up with all possible options.
Say for e.g you wan't to edit a default data label then follow the steps:
1. Left click on the chart
2.Left click on the data label.
3.Right click>>Chart Options>>Titles
4.Here you can edit the default title
