  • Acrobat trying to open local help file that doesn't exist

When I try to start Abrobat help I get a long pause followed by the error message "can't find the file at /C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Help/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/...."  I thought that web help was the default.  How do I clear this problem and get web help?

The issue is that it doesn't necessarily have to be the very first number that's free just so long as the number generated is in fact unique and not being used.
I can't generate a set of numbers because I'm doing an update statement where it's looking for only one number.
Let me see if I can explain better......
I have a table that has this column with intergers values that is also used by another table (it's the only way the two tables link together). However, for database reasons, it has to be no higher then 2147483647. Yet the database has been generating numbers beyond this point. I'm doing a procedure using dynamic SQL where I need to on the fly get one number that is under 2147483647 and yet is not already being used by a different record on either table (and they should match up one to one already). It doesn't have to be the first available number in the list, just so long as it's not used elsewhere on the tables and under that amount. Thus why I was using random number generation....
So now my first question is why would my original code that I came up with not work (so far I've been testing it and it is getting numbers and not in any appearant order that don't previously exist)? My second question is that is there a better way to get this number without generating a set or creating a table to reference it off of?
I'm going to try some of these other code examples while I check back here.

  • Installation halts - probably because of sapdb.inf

    Hello fellow SAP admins
I'm trying to install SAP solution manager/netweaver 7.0 on a Sun Sparc T2000 with Solaris 10. The installation works fine until I get to phase 13 of 47: "Create database schema". I don't get an error message, but the installation halts and I can read the following from the promt:
"File sapdb.inf does exist. Will use the commands in file sapdb.inf."
Everything seems to work and I cannot locate logfiles that tell me otherwise.
    XCMDOUT.log ends with the following:
    > Subprocess starts at 20080513084428
    Execute Command : /sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -n SunT2000 -d BDS -u control,********

    Execute Session Command : exit
    > Subprocess stops at 20080513084430

  • Where is the Help File in VB examples?

    Hi,
I'm running through the examples of Measurement Studio for VB6.
When the project runs, pressing the [Help] button invokes an help file.  However, when not running, while looking at the callback for the [Help] button I can only see  the procedure  'Private Sub CWHelpButton1_GotFocus()'.  There's nothing in this procedure to call the help file.
How does the help file invoked?
    Thanks
    Rafi

It looks like that button is designed to just give help about additional examples:

  • No visible cursor, and question about the help-file

Right now I am using a temporary computer, as mine is being re-formated.
When I opened Illustrator to change a text-line in a picture, there was no cursor when I clicked on a word. I could still make my change, but no blinking cursor to tell me where I was. Can somebody please tell me where that setting is? It feels like I am working blind...
I looked for this in the help-file, and while doing that (and not finding the answer), I wondered, as so many times before, how they thought at Adobe when they constructed the help-file as it is now... If I open the help-file in Illustrator, select that I want an answer for Illustrator (the icon to the right of the search-box) WHY do I get answers for InDesign, Bridge and other programs???? WHY not just for Illustrator? I am NOT interested in those programs right now, I want an answer for Illustrator. Please tell me there's a setting or something to fix this, because this drives me crazy each time I want help with something.

Thanks for your answer. For some strange reason the problem is now fixed... I checked the second box in Settings/General that says something like "use exact cursors", restarted the program and no change. Then I went for a coffee break and now it works
So how do I download the pdf help-file?

I think in your situation it would be worth trying the things listed under the event. It does have to do with FRS and it's easy to do. I've used it to fix journal errors after a server unexpectedly restarts and sysvol stops replicating.  I
could see where it could fix your issue, and if it doesn't, you're out 5 minutes. :)
The listed registry key does not exist
    Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
    Click down the key path:
       "System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters"
Double click on the value name
       "Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore"

  • Wht does lv7 help files for DAQmx lockup?

I am trying to obtain help for the DAQmx vis in LV7 and the help files "hang", take for ever to load and sometimes lockup LabVIEW. Also, when they do load, the pull down selector does not work properly and causes the help file to lockup. Is there a fix for this problem?

If you are currently running NI-DAQ 7.0 or 7.1, download NI-DAQ 7.1. This new installation will include new help documentation that will overwrite the existing files on your machine which may be corrupted. • [SOLVED] ABS - nasm - install file (nasm.install) does not exist

I was attempting to build the nasm package and I encountered the following error:
==> ERROR: install file (nasm.install) does not exist.
When reviewing the PKGBUILD file there was a line in the header:
    install=nasm.install
ArchWiki (PKGBUILD) explains the install directive
The name of the .install script to be included in the package. pacman has the ability to store and execute a package-specific script when it installs, removes or upgrades a package. The script contains the following functions which run at different times
I removed the install= line and everything appeared to work.  My question is... does anyone know if the install script it was expecting to find did anything special that is going to cause me grief going forward?
    Thx

I figured out what I did wrong.   I copied only the PKGBUILD file out of /var/abs/extra/nasm folder ..  the nasm.install was still in the folder.
Explains why I couldn't find the answer on Google.

  • File or Folder does not exist

I'm having a wierd problem with a png image which generates an error in my script.
I'm building a UI using the group constructor, here is the line code I'm using to load the image:
    myImg:Image{text:'',image:'(image_folder)/image.png', alignment:['left','top']}
The script runs with one image but not another one which is also a png of the same dimensions, bit depth etc. For some reason I get the 'file or folder does not exist' error message. If I replace the image with a known good one the script works.
I've re-generated the image a dozen times. Still no joy.
I'm not a total noob, though I infrequently write scripts and am completely prepared to learn I've made totally maverick error.
    Any thoughts?

    myImg:Image{text:'',image:'(image_folder)/image.png', alignment:['left','top']}
I'm assuming that "(image_folder)" is a placeholder or variable and you are concatinating for the file path to the image? When checking file paths for images or what not, I usually try...
    alert(File.decode(File.openDialog()));
...to verify that my path is correct. Sometimes there's a extra slash or something I am missing.

  • How do I tell the installer to put my html help files in the helpdir symbolic location?

I used the File>>Print function to create an HTML help file for my application and specified in the VI Properties for the app to use <helpdir>:\ApplicationHelp.HTML as the Help Path. This should pop up the help file when a user selects "Help for This VI" from my custom menu. It works from my development directory because I installed the help files into the help directory manually, but I can't figure out how the get the installer to put the files in the correct location on the target system.  I tried putting them in [LabVIEW 2010 Help] in the Destination View for the Source Files category, but that didn't work.  Anyone know the right way to do this?

    Hey MrSmith,
In LabVIEW 2010 SP1, if open the Project and right click My Computer, you can add the help file as a source. After you have added this file, you can then create an installer. Under the Destination header, you can add your desired destination path. After you have done that, you can go to the Source Files header and add the help file to that destination you created.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your application!

Thank you for the reply! I had already done the steps you suggested, so let me put up some screen shots that should help you understand my issue better. First, I specified the path to the help information on the Documentation screen of the applications Properties:
Next I had added all the help files (DetectorFT.html and all the .png files) to the source in a virtual folder I named Resources.
Next, for the release build I specified the files to be Always Included on the Source Files header.
Next I created a Resource Directory as a destination for the release build.
Then I specified the Resource directory as the destination for the files for the Release build.
After creating the Release build, I created an Installer build and told it on the SOurce Files screen to put the help files into the [LabVIEW 2010 Help] directory.
I had assumed that putting the files in the [LabVIEW 2010 Help] destination would put them into the correct directory when the installer ran.  When I ran the installer on the target system, the ran the application I tried to select the "Help for This VI" tab on the menu, but it was grayed out indicating it could not find the file in the proper location.  So the question I have is, what IS the proper location for the files to be installed to so the the application will find the Help files when it is looking for them at the <helpdir> Symbolic Path location? Thanks again!

    Karenloria,
    1. Check in MC8C, which Infostructure is used for Planning type "Planning" or the one you are entering in the intial screen of MC94.
    2. Using transaction MC63 for the infostructure identified in step 1, check the planning hierarchy maintained. If this product is not maintined maintain using MC62.
You can also check using SE16 transction the current infostructe records(Plan) for the table name = infostructure identified in step 1.
