NWA template installer required for remote systems

We've installed a NW 7.0 SP13 Java System that will be used for MDM Enrichment. During the installation we specified the Central SLD (a different NW7.0) system when prompted. I can see this new system in our Central SLD under the "technical systems" area. Following the installation, is there any reason to run any or part of the NWA template installers on either this new Java system or on our SLD system? Our SLD system is not being used as the CEN system, so the system will just be administered locally.
I'm trying to understand if any sort of connection data from the new system to the central sld is missing if any of the template installers is not run after the installation.

Hi Jaswant,
to generate a Solution Manager Key you can process a little bit easier.
Call transaction SMSY, press shift+F5 (you get the "other objects" popup).
As System enter the SID of your Solution Manager.
->select gen.Installation/Upgrade Key (shiftctrlF10))
then you get a new popup. In this popup you DELETE all values, enter SID of the new system, the message server of the new system and the system number of the new system. Then press generate key.
With this procedure you do not have to add the system to SMSY to generate the key.
Later you should add it to SMSY, maybe you have added an SLD to SMSY then the system will be added automatically. If not you have to add it manually.
Second question ERP <> ECC
Good question, ECC is part (a main instance) of ERP, so it is up to you if you classify your system as an ERP or ECC.

If in Console, you are not able to put in Alpha numeric Numbers, then I can suggest you a workaround.
If you want to get the range a100 to z999,
then only take the numeric part in the range.
Try using an Assigment in the Data Manager. And Concatenate the Alplanumeric part to the numeric part.
I am not sure, whether it will work. But still try out.

This thread is about the specific requirements, if any, for this product on OEL 5 or OEL 4.
See, there's a note on Metalink(546174.1) regarding some specific issues about installing Oracle Application Server on OEL5, but i'm not sure if this involves Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services.
The idea is to know if these issues applies to this specific distribution .

The CEN Configuration is dependant on the CCMS agents that you install on your satellite system.
The CCMS agents run as Services at OS level.
When you install CCMS Agent, there will be parameters pertaining to connecting to CEN.

I take you mean you have a JMS queue created in an Oracle database (A) and you want to propagate messages to a JMS queue create in an Oracle database (B)?
If that is the case you use normal AQ propagation. You can follow <Note:102771.1> as an example changing the ADT as appropriate, etc.
MGW is only to be used for Oracle to 3rd-party propagation.

Backupeventlog not working for remote system in PowerShell

I have the following code snippet that works if I specify localhost or the name of the local computer, but does not work if set to a remote server. I am running the script as Administrator using my Domain Admin account. Both local and remote systems
are Windows Server 2012 and in the same domain. PowerShell version = 3.0.

After spending some more time troubleshooting this and doing some more research I found the link below. I found it strange the hoops the author went through to handle event logs on remote systems until I realized that the path for "backupeventlog"
is relative to the remote system, not the system running the script. So I checked the other systems and found that the event log backups had been created. This would explain the returnvalue of 80. What's worse is that the path for "backupeventlog"
can't be a UNC -- I tried, it didn't work.

There used to be an issue with RealTek hardware, but the
developers addressed that with a patch for Captivate 2. Captivate 3
shouldn't need anything special to work with that hardware.
As for system audio, it is my understanding that this issue
is one created by the hardware. You have a couple of options.
1. Obtain a small patch cable and connect it from the Speaker
out to the Mic or Line in line. Then record audio as it plays.
(I've done this with reasonably decent results)
2. Use software that overcomes the issue. One such product is
called FreeCorder. You may visit the download page using the link

BI 7.01 SP06 Software Requirements for Backend System (Source System) ECC6

We currently have a NW BI 7.0 SP18 system and an ECC 6.0 SP17 system.
We are looking into upgrading our BI 7.0 to a BI 7.0 EhP 1 SP06.
I've been searching for information on any Software requirements for the ECC 6.0 system to make sure it's compatible with the BI 7.0 EhP1 system.
My question is :
Our ECC 6.0 is @ SP 17, which is equivalent to ECC 6.0 EhP 4 SPS 03.
As a prerequisite for BI 7.0 EhP1 I've read ECC6.0 needs to be at EhP4.
1). Is it adequet to have Support Packs equivalent to EhP4?(SP17)
Or do I need to actually apply EhP4 on the ECC 6.0 system?
2). What is the requirement from a PI & PI-Basis prespective on the ECC 6.0 system, for it to work with BI 7.0 EhP 1 SP06?
Our ECC 6.0 currently has PI_Basis 2005_1_700 SP 17.
Where can I fiind information on this?

If its a prerequisite then you have to apply it. When we upgraded our systems we upgraded both ECC and BI to EhP4/NW EhP1 and EhP1 respectively.

PI_Basis on both the systems will be 7.01 as they are upgraded as part of NW EhP1. You have to use Maintenance Optimizer for downloading EhP's which will take care of all the dependencies.

Minimal requirements for remote client app to call a EJB 3 session bean

I'm just starting to get into EJBs, trying to learn the EJB 3 APIs. I kind of understand the setup on the server side to create a session bean. What I don't understand is what I would have to deploy for each of the remote client app (Swing-based GUI or something like that) installations. Of course, the client app code would have to be deployed to each client desktop, but what stuff related to the session bean? Just the session bean interface class?
For ease of discussion, let's say my bean is CalculatorBean, having two interfaces, CalculatorRemoteIface and CalculatorLocalIface. Let's also say my client app, CalculatorUI, is a simple Swing-based GUI that grabs a reference to a CalculatorBean.
Other than just the Swing-based classes and the JRE, what JARs/classes will I want to deploy to each desktop?
(Please assume the latest Sun Java System App Server 9 and Java EE 5, if you are familiar with them.)

is MUCH easier for your clients to connect to a web
service (and mantain that code), then to have them
connect via RMI/JNDI.Oh, I would say it's quite the opposite. RMI/JNDI is MUCH easier from a client point of view than web services. To make web services work easy from the client side you have to generate code and the tools that generate code from a web services wsdl file doesn't do a great job today.
