NWDS 7.02.11

Hi All,
I have portal version 7.02 SP11 installed, and i want to develop some webdynpro applications for Portal. So i installed NWDS version 7.02.11 which has windows 7(32 bit) as the OS, but the issue iam facing is, i dont see Webdynpro Perspective.
Iam aware of 1566977 - NWDS on Windows 7 , but can anyone suggest any workaround for this problem?
Regards,
Janan

I dindt have any problem starting the NWDS, so im assuming that JVM is not the problem here, but i could be wrong!!!!
The NWDS starts up just fine, its just that i cannot find the Webdynpro Perspective.
Any other pointers?
Regards,
Janan

    Hi Nilesh,
           Try opening Visual Admin if your not able to login with username(administrator) and password. Problem with NWD2004s do the following steps.
    C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it
    1. Click on Secure store
    2. Right you will find :
    admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation=>SAVE properly
    Restart the server and try login visual admin
           Deploy now...Other wise see this thread same error solved:

    Hi All,
    Thanks for ur responses.
    To Sahu:
         Yes the user id has system admin role.
    To Ramani:
         I know that we can upload the PAR from portal itself as u said but i want to know the cause of my problem. why i am not able to do it from NWDS.
    To Vinoth:
         As i said i want to upload it from NWDS only.
    i want to inform onething to all of  u . we thought that it may be problem in SDM. so we checked SDM also. in that a process (deployment) is still going on. so we r not able to enter into it. it is like a infinitive for loop. so, that may be the cause which doesnt allow other deployments.
      Can any one tell me how to kill that process. it is something relevent to J2ee engine administration i hope.
    What i mentioned above is only our decision , we are not sure that whether it is the exact reason or not. so if anyone encountered the same problem and solved please guide me or any docs related to this also will be helpful.

  • Error while deploying ear-file to J2EE via NWDS/SDM

    Hi everybody,
    i have a problem deploying an ear-file. I was looking for similar cases in forums, but didn't find anything. My application is developed by jsp/servlets. The deployment aborts with following error-massage:

Reason: java.io.IOException: Stream closed
    I don't know what the reason could be. The application is running on tomcat. And I can deploy other applications to j2ee with nwds/sdm.
    Maybe somebody had or has the same problem. Or somebody knows the answer for the problem. Please help, points will be regarded. Thanks in advance.

  • NWDS 7.0 Error during Quick PAR Upload and while trying Exporting PAR-File

    Hello,
    I am trying to use the functions "Export as PAR-File" and "Quick PAR Upload" in NWDS 7.0.
    Unfortunately I got an error every time when I am trying to use this functions. I am using the package explorer in the Java perspectiv in NWDS for starting this functions. The error tells me the following:
    "Unable to connect to the Portal"
    "Operation failed: Please make sure the server "XY" is running or check the log (sap-plugin.log) for more detail"
    Thats all.
    When I am looking in the log-file I can read the following messages:
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: GET_VIEW:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: IS_VIEW_EXISTS:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: SIZE_OF_VIEW:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: READ_ENTRY:ALL]"
    LOGIN.ERROR|null|| Login Method=[default] UserID=[user_Admin] IP Address=[192.168.xxx] Reason=[Cannot authenticate the user]
    I have tried this with several users and their passwords. All of the users have admin-rights at least in the portal. One of them even in the SDM.
    I can sucessfully deploy webdynpros from NWDS into the same Portal with this users.
    We are using SAP Logon Tickets and SSO is configured working fine between Portal and backend.
    We have imported Key Store File in NWDS unter Window --> Preferences --> Java Development Infrastructure.
    And we are not using the NWDI.
    Who knows why I cannot even export par-files? Are their any configurations missing?
    Best regards,
    Iris

    It is mentioning about authentication.
    check whether you have access to deploy directly or not ? maybe direct deployment into portal disabled .
    I think you have to follow the procedure of checkout and activate procedure.
    Can you clarify few things
    1) Are you using NWDI Based Transports in your landscape?
    Login Method=default UserID=user_Admin IP Address=http://192.168.xxx Reason=Cannot authenticate the user
    http://192.168.xxx  is it your development portal?
    Did you clarify with admin people whether direct deployment disabled?

    Hi Rukmani,
    407 is "Proxy Authentication Required", which sounds like you are using a proxy and on the other machine, the network access to the portal works in fact different or the authentication mechanism is different.
    This is hard to elaborate remotely...
    Hope it helps

  • Error while importing logon par file into NWDS.

    Dear Friends ,
    I m trying to customise the logon screen for my project. For this I have downloaded the "com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak" from portal server instance with the help of basis team. I have locally saved this file on my desktop[. I have renamed the file as .par and removed the .bak extension. Now I have tried to import the file onto NWDS in EP perspective by following File>Import>Par file. But its giving me this error:
    error in opening zip file
    Reason: Sorry, an error occured creating the new project.
    The plugin "com.sap.portal.plugins.config-archiver caused an exception during the
    "Unpack" Operation See log for more details.
    In some of the solutions provided in SDN saying that after renaming the file to par open with zip if i done it is again showing the error as "Start of the central directory not found .Zip file corrupt.Possible cause :file transfer error."
    Kindly suggest me the solution.
    Thanks and regards.

    Hi,
    I think you have taken this file from a wrong path and hence this issue.
    Pls download the par file from the below path and try importing it into EP perspective..
    System admin> Support>Portal Runtime > Browse Deployment>
    Browse through the following to find the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak file:
    WEB-INF u2013> deployment u2013> pcd
    Root>WEB-INF>Portal>Portalapps> temp--> download the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak

    Vijay.

  • Error while creating aRFC model in NWDS

    Hi,
    I am trying to import an RFC module from an R/3 system(as mentioned in the WebDynPro <i>FlightList</i> tutorial). I am able to connect to the R/3 system and view the different function modules that exist on the system. However, when I select one of the modules and proceed to the generation step, I get an error as shown below:
    [Info]:     Creating Model: FlightModel
    [Error]:     Error in creating Dictionary converter
    [Fatal]:     java.lang.NullPointerException: null
    I am using NWDS 710 and JCo 2.1.8.
    Has anybody faced this issue before/could suggest a solution?
    Thanks,
    Sreejith

    Hi Sreejith
    Try This
    1)Goto Your Project Folder[ C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Documents\SAP\workspace\] this is the default directory
    2) Goto <b>.metadata</b> folder
    3) There you can find a <b>.registry</b> file - remove that file [better to take a backup so that if some thing happens you can paste the same <b>.registry</b> file]
    4) Now reopen Developer Studio and try again

  • Error while ipmorting dev configuration in NWDS

    HI
             I am getting error as "<i>No configurations on server or server error</i>" while trying to import development configuratios in NWDS 2.0.7. I am using WAS 6.40 sp 9 . plz provide me some idea what to do.
             I thought may be its because my cms has not been configured for domain & track. I tried to confiogure domain and succeed. but while tring to add track I am getting error as"
    <i>Collection 'compartments' of configuration "dm_dev" is empty or missing (null). : compartments</i>
        again while adding track in domain if I adds software components "SAPDEVINFF" from the list it's giving the following error "
    <i>DTR (URL http://<server-name>:50000/dtr) server exception: Repository "http://<server-name>:50000/dtr"  failed to properly respond to request "PROPPATCH ws/dm/sap.com_SAPDEVINFF/dev/" [HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error]</i>
        actually I am tring to configue JDI on WAS but get stuck with these configurtion things since last 3/4 days.
    thanks in advance
    Ashutosh

    Thanks Pascal,
    First one I understood.
    for the second one I tried from my friend's system who has NWDS 2.0.9, but it showed same as above problem. I guess this is because I have not defined track.
       I have followed the NWDI installation guide of version sp12 . I guess that should not be a problem. I could not find a guide for sp9.
       now I have to solve the problem of these errors that is shown while defining track.
       one thing i want to let you know that while I am tring to access the CBS url <i>http://<server-name>:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc.CBS.WebUI/WebUI</i>
        its giving error
    <i>An error has occurred:
    "Failed to process the request."
    Please contact your system administrator</i>
    even though I have configured CBS as per the installation guide.

    Hi Rajesh
    If you are using 7.1, go to com.sap.tc.mobile.dt.oca.rt folder inside plugins folder.
    If your client itself is not launching, delete the MI folder, unzip the laptop.zip, you will get a new MI folder.
    Go to MI -> bin -> click startup.bat. Check if the client is launching.
    Now deploy the application components and start the client.

    I think you are reffering to server log.
    But as the problem is happening in NWDS in my local system, so I am attaching the NWDS log here.

  • Error while creating a deployable proxy for a URL in NWDS

    Hi ,
    There is a requirement for calling a webservice in the .NET platform from JAVA using NWDS. The webservice of the server is pinged using the URL of the webservice. when the URL is passed in the WS navigator of CRD ( that is Development Server) ,  the response is retreived successfully .  The version of NWDS is 7.0.23.
    we are facing problem when we are trying to create a Deployable proxy in NWDS by using the following steps :
    1) Create a Development Component
    2) Select the Deployable Proxy
    3) Create the Client Proxy Defintion of the created DC
    At step 3 , when we giving the url or WSDL link  like "http:// www3.authoring.syngenta/newswebservice.asmx?WSDL" (this is just for example) , it is showing as "Invalid wsdl or wsdl not found " . so  that we are not able to procees further.
    When we are trying to create proxy the for the WSDL link like " http:// www.authoring.syngenta/newswebservice.asmx?WSDL" , we are able to create successfully.
    can anyone suggest why we are able to create the proxy for the URL "http:// www.authoring.syngenta/newswebservice.asmx?WSDL" and not for the other URL.
    Any pointers or suggestions are very helpful.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sreedevi

    Late response I know, but I have solved a similar problem recently and thought I would share.
    Firstly, the problem is not with the namespace. The "Namespace ..." part is just stating the namespace the "Incorrect Value" has. So this error is complaining about the value "Unknown" - which isn't very helpful.
    It appears the SAP SE80 importer does not like elements like the following because it can't understand <s:element ref="s:schema" />. It appears this is a common thing to be included in .NET generated WSDLs.
     <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="GetCursDynamicResult">      <s:complexType>          <s:sequence>               <s:element ref="s:schema" />               <s:any />          </s:sequence>     </s:complexType></s:element>
    SAP will also not like this example as it does not support mixed content (see: http://www.w3schools.com/schema/schema_complex_mixed.asp)
    <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="SaldoXMLResult">
         <s:complexType mixed="true">
              <s:sequence>
                   <s:any />
              </s:sequence>
         </s:complexType>
    </s:element>
    You can "Fix" the problem in both cases by removing the offending text in a local copy of the WSDL file so remove line 4 in the first example and change line 2 in the second to <s:complexType> the proxy can then be generated. No idea if the resulting service will be fully operational though!

  • Unable to create new DC in NWDS on NWDI Track.

    Hello,
    I created a track for ESS/MSS customization and it is working fine.
    Now I need to add a SC in my track...
    In this new SC I will create the DC in NWDS for all custom development.
    So what I did :
    1. In NWDS I already imported the track. And working on modifications of ESS.
    2. I logged into SLD and created a new Product -> Software Unit and created my new SC in it.
    3. I log into CMS -> Landscape Configurator and under "track data" tab I added the SC.
    4. Now in NWDS I Updated the Configuration from selecting "Update Configuration". As a result my new SC comes in NWDS.
    5. Now I selected my new SC and select Create New DC...selected type as "web dyynpro"
    here the problem comes :
    When I clicks on "Finish" in Create DC Box..........I get below error :
    "DC Creation Finished with some problems"...
    Reason : Get Activity failed.
    Could not configure DC project; see log for details........
    From where I can see these logs...?
    And what could be the reason for this error...?
    have I missed some step ?

    Hi,
    well at this stage, since the problem is not reproducible any more it is difficult to say. It could have any temporary network issue(when contacting the server at that step "Get Activity"), it could be even a bug or any other reason. I know few details of your scenario, perhaps NWDS is not properly matching to the server from release point of view (cbs client in your NWDS vs. cbs release version at server side), just to mention couple of examples, but as mentioned from the info I have it is difficult to find out.
    You can look for this error in the log file and check the surrounding log entries. Perhaps when you face again this issue, let us know in this forum thread entry along with the discussed log file.
    Best Regards,
    Ervin
