  • NWDS installation issue - "Please wait... completing the install"

    Hi all,
I got the same "Problem" each time I update my NWDS.
[Re: NWDS installation issue.|Re: NWDS installation issue.]
After the installation, when I start the NWDS I get always the message:
    "Please wait... completing the install"
If I create a new Workspace this really solves the problem but I don't like to create every time a new workspace after an update and copy all my projects back to this new workspace.
Is there no other solution around? I think I'm not the only one who has this troubles, am I?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    Hi all,
I solved this problem by myself. So for everyone who is interested in how to solve this problem:
Just delete the folder .config in
    \workspace\.metadata\
During the next start of NWDS this folder will be created and everything will work as excpected!

  • NWDS Installation on a 64-bit Windows 7

    Hi
I'm working on a 64-bit Windows 7 System. Actually I'm using eclipse Helios to develop my Java Mappings. I'd like to use the SAP Netweaver Development Studio to create Java Proxies. So I downloaded the current version and run the Installer. Unfortunately the Install Everywhere throsw following error message: The Installer cannot run in the 32-bit sub-system on a 64-bit architecture
Is there a workaround to install the NWDS on a 64-bit Windows?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

Its only the Installer that does not run... So if you can get hold of a 32 Bit PC run the Installer there and Copy the installation directory to your WIN7 x64 PC. I used the Win XP mode for example.
"Install anywhere" sounds like a joke but you know its SAP xD
And afterwards if you wonder where all the SAP Perspectives are, have a look at Missing perspectives in SAP NWDS CE 7.1 xD

  • NWDS installation issue.

    Hello,
I have installed NWDS on my pc and I have a minor issue with it:
When you first run the NWDS after the installation, an eclipse window appears saying "Please wait... completing the install". The problem in my installation is that I see this window every time I open NWDS and because of that when I switch between perspectives for example I don't see the related perspective icon at the top left corner of the NWDS window.
I tried reinstalling NWDS but it didn't help.
Anyone has an idea how to force it finalising the install which will suppress this message on startup and I assume will also resolve these icons issues? Perhaps a registry tweak?
    Roy

    Hi Roy,
can you try to start the NWDS with a new emtpy workspace? This error could be because of problems with the .metadata folder.
    Hope this helps,
    Holger.

  • Stuck with install/first use of Adobe forms in NWDS

    Hi
I'm trying to use interactive forms in NWDS, but there seems to be nowhere in NWDS that I can access anything Adobe like. I'm not sure if this a very simple thing I'm missing in NWDS, or my installation has gone wrong.
From the beginning, I've installed Web AS ABAP+Java plugin 2004s SP6, running under linux. Everything starts up fine.
I'm running Windows XP on a virtual box to install SAPGUI 7.10 and NWDS 7.0.12. Can connect with SAPGUI and from NWDS to J2EE message server.
Installed Adobe Live Cycle Designer 7.1 (as not part of NWDS installation - 816065) plus patch plus xACF. Registered WDAbobeControl.dll according to 822198.
Tested successfully Adobe Webservices from browser, but do get an 500 error when called from within NWDS.
To start using forms, what should I do next ? I've tried creating a webdynpro project, but there's no indication of how to call a layout.
Any successful pointers rewarded with, er, points
    Thanks, Phil

    hi Philip,
Have you installed and configured ADS on your server.
without ADS... you cant work on your interactive forms.
    <b>check the following points</b>
<b>(this is an old version of requirements but still will help)</b>
<b>2-1</b> The SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (Support Package Stack 11) including Adobe LiveCycle Designer (forms design tool) is installed on your computer.
<b>2-2</b> You have access to the SAP J2EE Engine (Release 6.40). (Note that you can download an evaluation version (Sneak Preview SAP Web Application Server 6.40 Java) from the SDN Download Area at https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/downloadarea.sdn.)
<b>2-3</b> Adobe Reader 7.0.x is installed on your computer.
<b>2-4</b> The Active Component Framework (ACF) of the Interactive Forms integration is installed on your computer. With SP Stack 11, calling a Web Dynpro application that includes a PDF form for the first time should automatically install the ACF in the background. If you experience
difficulties that may be related to the frontend installation, please see SAP Note 766191 on the SAP Service Marketplace for manual installation.
<b>2-5</b> The Adobe document services are configured on the SAP J2EE Engine you are using. To access the Installation and Configuration Guides for Adobe document services, go to http://service.sap.com/nw04installation &#8594; SAP Web AS &#8594; SAP Web AS 6.40 SR1 and Related Documentation &#8594; Adobe Document Services.
<b>2-6</b> Basic knowledge of developing Web Dynpro applications. For helpful information about Web Dynpro, go to https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/developerareas/webdynpro.sdn?node=linkDnode6-2.

  • NWDS doesn't display "Window Preferences" Options

    Hi Experts,
I used to work in Netweaver Developer Studio (NWDS) without any problem, but now when I open "Window >> Preferences" Options, it doesn't display anything. It shows no options on the left side (white navigation panel) and no options on the right side (gray window), but the buttons on the bottom are displayed ok. It is very strange; I can't remember any configuration I have done that could cause this behavior.
Also, when  I hit "File >> New >> Project", it doesn’t show any portal options (Portal Application, etc.).
Does anyone have been through this before?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Raphael Barboza

I'm not sure why this would be happening however since its such a simple task I would first I would re-install to you current patch level. Also, perhaps check your plugins against another NWDS installation.
    Cheers

  • Unable to create SAPUI5 project on NWDS 7.31 SP10

    Hello Experts,
I want to use SAPUI5 NWDS Plugin for my NWDS installation.
NWDS version is 7.31 SP10 (Java is sapjvm_6).
    SAPUI5 Plugin file is UI5TOOL07_0-10011992.zip.
The plugin was installed successfully but when I try to create project
I get stuck on the last wizard page (see NWDS.jpg)
There are no errors in the log file of NWDS.
Is the SAPUI5 Plugin file version correct? if not what is the correct
version and from where can I download it?
If I use Web Module DC I can use AutoComplete etc. (see autoComplete.jpg).
    Only the wizard has problems
    Regards,
    Omri

    Hi,
Check this thread Unable to find SAP UI5 Application Development wizard even after installing UI5 Tools inNWDS
May be useful to resolve your issue.

  • NWDS in Win 7

    Hi,
I have a query about the NWDS installation and working on Win7 (32bit). I can see the note 1566977.
Is NWDS problems under win7 OS is fixed now?
    Kindly help on this.
    Regards,
    Rambabu

    Hi Ram,
    check this thread too:
NWDS not showing SAP specific Eclipse extensions
(this includes a note for clarification).
Further, the Product Availibility Matrix is indeed a bit misleading (we will soon make it more obvious).
The thing is that NWDS is supported on 64bit platforms, but the JDK has to be 32bit. So only JDK is supported (no JRE) and even if your platform is 64bit, JDK has to be 32bit.
    See also the note:

  • NWDS HAngs while creting the model

When I try to create webservice model in a webDynpro Devel pment Component NWDS hangs while trying to put files into DTR.
The NWDS put the model files into DTR in two sets, the first set goes through smoothly, but when the second set is added NWDS hangs. The situation is same across all the NWDS installation
    My patch level is SP16.
Has anybody come across such scenario?

  • Ganymede and NWDS

    Hi developers,
I would like to download the EE bundle of Eclipse Ganymede and then install SAP plugins from the local update site unzipped from the NWDS installer.
Can this be achieved? Does the SAP update site work with non-sap eclipses?
    Thanks and regards
    Vincenzo

    Hi Vincenzo,
You can download SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (which is based on Eclipse) from the SAP Service Market Place. You have to navigate to SAP Software Distribution Center and search for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
Which version of the Developer Studio do you need?

  • NWDS JDK version

    Hi Team,
I am using Portal 7.4 sp4 and i want to modify one WD Java application running in that.
Now i am trying to install NWDS 7.31 SP 9 with JDK jdk-6u26-windows-i586.
My doubt is in the NWDS installation guide, its mentioned like...
Note: To deploy an application, the JDK version of NWDS and JVM version of application server should be same "
Now my JVM version in portal UNIX server is JVM 6 (SAP).
Can i go ahead with  installtion of  NWDS 7.31 SP 9 with JDK jdk-6u26-windows-i586 in my windows 32bit machine to modify the applications?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
        Alex

    Hi Alex
    you can go ahead.
I think that comment tries to say only that the major version of the jdk/jre must be the same. E.g if on client you have 1.6 then on server the vm must be sapvm6 (and not say 5 or anything else). You said also very correctly that the jdk has to be 32 bit and the SP relation is also correct (731 nwds has +5 higher SP than 7.4 server)

  • NWDS doubt

    Hi,
I have installed nwds 7.31 and i created projects from nwdi in that.
When i open my nwds path \nwds-extsoa-...\eclipse\workspace.jdi path, i can see folders .dtr, 0 , 1 , local developement.
But i dont see any .dtc folder. I searched in C:/Users/ also but didnt find .dtc
In folder 1, i can see my DCs and SCs.
My doubt is in 7.31 .dtc is replaced as 1 ? or else how to get .dtc folder ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    you are welcome!
I am not sure it'd properly work. There are other files and folders that have to be in sync with those devconfig folders. What I still don't understand, why don't you just fire up your NWDS on the target client machine and simply import the corresponding development configs to your NWDS ?
NWDS is only a client, the party goes on the server.
Without connecting to NWDI it all makes no sense even if you would find a brute force way copying devconfig folders from A to B. You could acually even delete your entire NWDS installation from the original client machine (considering you have no checked out activities) and still nothing would get lost because everything is on the server (the archives are in CBS and the sources in DTR). Once deleting your local NWDS workspace you could reimport the given development config in a minute and then you'd be there were you were before the deletion. But consequently you can do this on any other client machine, even if it is on the other side of the world (having proper connection to the server (NWDI)).
    Cheers,
    Ervin

  • Error While Opening dataform after creating Planning Unit Hierarchy

    Hi All,
I created a Planning Application through classic wizard. Then i created a planning unit hierarchy, after which I am getting the following error: (when i try to open a dataform, from some user other than admin/owner)
*"Security and/or filtering has resulted in a required dimension not being represented on this data form"*
I know that this error occurs when some dimension members are represented on dataform but are not assigned with security rights. But thats not the problem in my case. Because I assign security rights to all members of all dimension just for the sake of testing. I later on identifed that this error occurs due to dimensions present in POV i.e. I need to select a single member of each POV dimensions, then in such case this error disappears.
Now my question is that why i need to select a single member from each POV dimension? I general i leave POV dimensions as it is, while creating dataform
Right now i aad a dummy member at the top of each dimension, e.g Account_UnSpecified, Entity_UnSpecified and so on . . . and then i select this member from each of POV dimension.

    Hi,
You can try creating new Root folder and new workspace for your NWDS.
    1.  Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_ROOT ' in your machine
    2. Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_WORKSPACE ' in your machine
    3. Open NWDS (and logon to DTR)
    4. Remove all configurations from your Development Configuration perspective (except 'Local Development')
    5. Go to Window --> Preferences --> Java Development Infra --> Development Configurations
    6. Change 'Root Folder' to the folder created in step-1
    7. Close NWDS
    8. Create ' Run_NWDS.bat ' file in your NWDS installation folder which has 'SapIde.exe' file
(it will be generally in --> C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse)
    9. Type following in .bat file -->
SapIde.exe -data "<complete path to folder created in step-2>"
    10. Now double click on this .bat file to open NWDS
Now logon to DTR, import configuration, create project from 'inactive DCs' and you should be able to create project and see it in respective perspective.
