NWDS issu e(ESS)
Hi EXPERTS,
Please Help me resolving below Queries.
1. I am trying to Create a Custom DC on ESS track. Ending up with message saying Timed out and Doesnu2019t create any DCu2019s.
2. The track on which I was working is not showing any Dcu2019s , we have not done any changes to it.
Getting message communication error, couldnu2019t initialize the DTR client u201CESSXXu2019.
Please help me understanding , what are the reason for NWDS to behave like this.
TIA

Dear All,
EP7.0 SP9, ECC5
We have an major issue in ESS, The problem is with single sign on.
Here are the scenario's we are using :-
1. We are using "training1" as EP login id and in PA30 in R/3 InfoType 105 and Sub Infotype 0001 The same ID "training1" (Same as EP log in), the portal is picking the data properly and working fine.
2. If we use training1 as EP loginID and in PA30 in R/3 InfoType 105 and Sub Infotype 0001 if we use exeibckk (R/3 ID created for each individual user as communication user),
we are getting error "User TRAINING1 does not exist in this period"
we need to go ahead with the Step2, since all the EP login users are LDAP configured and,it has more than 15 characters, we cannot use EP login ID in InfoType 105 and Sub Infotype 0001
since it is restricted to 12 Characters.
e.g:
EP user ID is - shivakumar_ks ( taken from LDAP)
where as his R/3 or ESS user ID is - P000000002
since the login ID and R/3 ID are different,The system is throwing the error mentioned above.
We map the Shivakumar_ks with P000000002 in the EP Personalize option. But it is
not picking up the mapping. It tried to find the Shivakumar_ks in R/3 and fails.
Even though we are giving the UIDPWD in the system Logon Method.
Can anyone please give me the solution on the above.
Thanks in advane

Dear All,
EP7.0 SP9, ECC5
Ponnusamy PHi,
As correctly mentioned here by debasish, most of the iviews in ESS and MSS use JCo Connections but there are some iviews which are IACs.
In this case, you need to configure both JCo connections as well as user mapping. Incase of PA30, which could be an IAC or a transaction iview, <b>you may just focus on User Mapping</b>. But for the webdynpro applications, you would need JCo Connections.
The link provided by Antonio clearly explains the steps. In brief, these are the steps involved:
1) Create System and an alias. Make sure that you use the logon method UIDPW.
2) Using the Personalization link, select a system and give the backend username and password. Save it.
Log off and test if it works.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Sunil

Hi Expert,
I encounter an issue in ESS when user try to create a new Address record.
In my case, Employee A already has a Address record effective from 1-1-2001to 31-12-9999
When Employee A try to follow the below step to create a new Address record, the issue will exist.
1. Select the country field
2. Select the validity period (by default, it is "Valid as of today" and I change it to "Valid from period") effective from 1-1-2010 to 31-12-2010
3. Save the record
The issue existed.
The record effective from 1-1-2001to 31-12-9999 will be deleted!!!! But instead, 2 record will be created. One is effective from today to 31.12.2009. And the other one is effective from 1.1.2010 to 31.12.2010.
My question is, is there any way to prevent such behaviour?
Best Regards,
KTHi,
You need to check the use cases for the infotype "0006" and "0009"
goto "SM30" give "V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP" and maintain
check the use cases set for the infotype "0006" and "0009"
some example as shown below
01 0006 1 A1
01 0006 4 A2
01 0006 5 A2
01 0009 0 B1
01 0009 1 B3
01 0009 2 B2
01 Country ( set the country code as per yourproject )
0006 infotype
1 Sub type
A use Case
( Note - use cases is also depends up on the Time contraint for the Infotype ) -

Portal webservice - SP14 NWDS issue
Hi Experts,
Is it possible to create Portal webservice from SP14 - NWDS?
Issue: I have created a Portal service, trying to create a webservice from Portal service but I am not getting the Portal Webservice option (Select the Portal Service -> New -> Other -> Portal Application -> Create a new Portal Application Object -> Clicked on Next button -> Selected the Portal Service -> Next button ->Here I could able to see only three options ( (1)RF Component Wizard7.1.5 (2)Portal Component (3)Portal Service ). I am not getting the Portal webservice option. In my previous thread got the info that, in SP12 we could able to have the Portal webservice option. May I know the proper link to download the NWDS which supports Portal webservice from service market place?
Regards
SaraHi,
From service market place http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks , choose NW04 or 04S. Choose source and destination patch, check WAS and others. From next page, you can check the box for studio alone for download.

HELP please - NWDS issue: Customized application based on 'vanilla' SAP DCs
Hello,
I am about to deliver a SAP Web-Channel solution and therefore I have to make some developments on the 'vanilla' application as nothing is perfect as it comes out of the box. We have setup all tracks to download & build the SAP standard application (Java, WAR und EAR part), but I do not want to modify the DCs directly instead I like to create my own DC to add my developments on top.
What I did within the NWDS
1. I have downloaded the WAR, EAR, and java SC from the NWDI
2. I have created my own DC such as "CUST/ISA/WAR"
3. I have assinged the original war "crm/isa/web/b2b" as Used DC
I performed the build, but when I take a look in the generated WAR file, the source code / JSP files are merged with my own - instead I can find the used DC as JAR file within the lib folder.
I also followed the instructs as described in the published PDF: How_To_Create_Custom_App_ECO5200.pdf
I almost tried everything, but I can't see any obvious difference to the setup as SAP did. The original WAR project from SAP also depends on other DCs, which includes their JSP files, but I can't find the difference to the steps I did ..... PANIK!
Does anyone know what could have went wrong?
Cheers,
AndreasProblem solved. I just figured out that I need a postbuild.vm within the "cfg" folder. To figure that out, it almost drove me crazy. There is no documentation available and it is getting more trick if you have to retrieve code from a WAR project and not a Java Project as the component is not listed within the dependencies, which are required for the compilation.

I am having difficulty checking in the SCA file for ESS. I have set up the Domain, Track, etc. using the scenario 2+ steps. I've added the software component to the track. However, when I go to the transport studio and try to check in my component is not available in the drop-down. Do I have to move the ESS.sca into the CMS_CBS folder to make it available for check in?
