NX6325 won't power up - battery light flashes 8 times

I have a 3 year old NX6325 that won't power up any more.
It makes no difference whether the charger is plugged in or not.
When I turn it on the battery light flashes 8 times (amber) and that's it. Nothing else happens.
Does anybody know what this means?
Regards,
Julian.

It is very likely your Northbridge chipset is gone.
The CPU could not make connection to the Northbridge to initiate the any data transfer from the Southbridge ( connected to all your low level devices such as Hard Drive, USB ports, Optical Driver and etc ) to fetch the BIOS content to start the POST ( Power On Self Test ) sequence.
It could also mean your CPU could be bad.

  • U510 won't turn on, battery light flashes twice when plugged in then nothing

My ideapad u510 is dead. It won't turn on and no power. The only indicator i get is sometimes when inserting the power adapter the battery indicator light will flash twice amber then turn off. Is this an error code of some sort or is the adapter shot and just not charging or powering up the computer?

    Hi Citrineaux,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system not powering on in your Lenovo U510 laptop.
Try to connect with different adapter and check for the issue. Also connect the external monitor to check if the issue is no power or no display. Check if you are able to hear the windows login sound.
As this model has the inbuilt battery, please try to power on by reset button or novo button.
Hope this helps. Do post back if issue persists!
    Best regards,

  • Satellite A500 - Battery light flashes when connected to mains power

    Win 7 Satellite A500 PSAM3A-03P00E.
The battery light flashes when connected to mains power (intermittent fault), when I unplug mains and re-connect flashing stops and battery (high capacity) continues to charge.
Also when battery light flashes the key board back lighting stays on when it should blank out and if the back lighting is off and the battery light starts flashing the key board back lighting doesn't turn on, all other functions seem to work fine.
The battery charges and holds charge as it should (when light flashes battery doesn't charge).

    Hi
Did you notice this issue from first day of purchase?
Theoretically it could be possible that your battery starts to malfunction
At the other hand an electronic issue might be possible too
    However, try this:
Remove ac adaptor and battery. Then press and hold power buttons 30 sec long.
Then insert the battery and connect AC adaptor again does it helps?
By the way: is BIOS up to date? If not, perform an update.

    Hallo Michael
There must be some serious issue with power supply electronic. If there is serious problem with power supply the notebook sends hexadecimal code and this code can help technicians to identify the problem.
I am afraid there is nothing you can do about it so please contact nearest authorized service provider and ask for help.

  • T61 Battery light flashes red and green

    Hello:
My T61(type 8891) won't start. I'm getting a series of flashes from the battery and power lights:
A/C power connected: power light flashes green alternately and battery light flashes green then red/green.
AC off, battery installed: power light flashes green at the same time as the battery light flashes red/green.
This happened twice before in the past 2 weeks. After about an hour, it booted up - no problem. This time, nothing.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It started about one month ago - no known cause. The problem happened 3 times since then but each time it booted up by itself  after a half hour or so. A new motherboard is going to set me back plenty but f it's needed, I guess I must get it repaired. I'm quite handy at taking the laptop apart. I've replaced the hinge, and bezel.
Maybe the fan is inoperable which may cause it to not boot up. Lately, I've been feeling exhaust air much warmer than before even if it's not being used. I blew the dust off it 3 weeks ago.

  • HP6310 won't respond to power button, camera light flashes

After turning my HP6310 off by unlugging the power cord, I can't get it to turn back on properly. I plugged the power cord back in and the display lights up blank and the camera light in the front lower left flashes. The power button does not light up and when pressed, does nothing.

    Hi @mcdillon99,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP officejet 6310 will not respond to the power button, and the camera light flashes. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
I would recommend to go through this guide, The HP Printer Won't Turn On or Respond When the Power Button is Pressed. (Even though the guide title may not match your issue, I believe the solutions will help).

  • HP Officejet 6310xi won't print - keeps blinking "reset power" and all lights flashing.

I have an HP Officejet 6310xi that won't print.  When you select print, the paper begins to feed then suddenly stops before any printing begins and all lights on the face of the printer begin blinking and the message "RESET POWER" blinks in the screen readout of the printer.  When I turn printer off and back on, the screen indicates a used color cartridge is inserted and I hit OK, then indicates used black cartridge is inserted, then I hit OK, then it says it needs to align cartridges, I hit OK.  After trying to align cartridges, it suddenly stops and goes back to all lights flashing and screen flashing "RESET POWER".   I can hit cancel during cartridge alignment and printer goes to normal ready position.  I can then print a test page.  But as soon as I try to print anything else, even the diagnostics page, it goes back to flashing all lights and "RESET POWER".  I did a semi reset (unplug, wait, plug in holding #6) and a full reset (with #9).  That did nothing except wipe out the date on the screen read out of the printer.   So I know the full reset executed correctly but it did not solve my problem.  Please HELP! I am reposting with email me selected - I'm new at this posting to forums...

  • Won't boot only red light flashing

My BB Z10 unable to boot or charge once the battery all used up.
When I plug to wall or PC, only red light flashing.
Sent for repair twice, just return with a full charged battery device.
Once I used all the battery it won't charge.
I have to recharge the battery before it's all gone,
Or you have to follow the steps to reinstall the OS make it charge again.
Does it make sense? Will you accept that?
Means if I did not charge my Z10 before battery all gone, I have to do the OS recovery and ALL THE DATA GONE.

    Hey panda1111,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Follow the steps below to try and bring the BlackBerry Z10 back to life:
Ensure that BlackBerry Link is installed on the PC or Mac OS
Ensure the computer has an internet connection.
    Launch the BlackBerry Link Software.
Note: A backup of the BlackBerry device should be tried before a reload.
Turn off the BlackBerry device. Make sure there are no flashing LEDs and that the LCD is not still being lit by the backlight. If there are any flashing LEDs, hold the power button for 15 seconds until the LEDs stop.
Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer.
When prompted with Cannot communicate with device, click Restore and then click yes allow the update to be downloaded and installed on the BlackBerry device.
If the restore button is not seen press the vertical dots in the lower right corner of BlackBerry Link and select disconnected device.  Highlight the disconnected device you are working with and attempt steps 4 to 6 again.
If the issue still persists, then I suggest contacting your network service provider for repair options.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • G5 won't power on but light is stuck on!

    Hi
Today the power in my flat was turned off at the mains after there was a flood in my buildinbg - this happened while my G5 was on. When the power came back on at the mains, I found that the G5 white power light was on at the front, but nothing else happens.
Holding the power button doesn't turn the G5 on or off. It is just stuck with the power light on.
What has happened? Did the mains tripping off blow a fuse or something inside the G5 or is there something I can do to get it to reset? Or is it something worse?
    Thanks for your help.

This is truly strange. I'm having the exact same problem. Last night we had a huge lightening storm here, and I powered down the computer, turned off the battery backup, and pulled the plug on the battery backup from the wall socket. After the storm, I reconnected and have exactly the same problem - power light constantly on, but the computer won't power up.
I was looking to start my own thread, but saw this and I guess it makes more sense to join in here. The only difference in artificedesign66's story and mine is that there was no sudden loss of power, everything was shutdown properly. It seemed to be running fine until that point, and did have an APC battery backup/surge protector in place for what that's worth.
I unplugged and replugged a few times last night. When that didn't work, I disconnected everything from the computer (monitor, all usb and firewire, power) and left it that way overnight. This morning I reconnected only the monitor, keyboard/mouse, and power, but still no go.
I do use a third party keyboard that lacks the power button - I use the one on the face of the cpu. Is there any value in digging the apple keyboard out of the basement to try that?
Thanks all for any help and to artificedesign66 for sharing the thread - hope you don't mind.

  • Satellite L300 - Nothing if I try to start it up, only battery light flash

Hi i have a L300 and today it turned off and when I tried to start it up again nothing would happen other then the battery light would flash.
can any body help me please im not that good with computers.

    Hi Alby,
I have founded an interesting thread here in forum:

  • G4 dual 1 gig.. no power, but the light flashes once?

Today I noticed that after I left the computer alone for a while it was shutdown.. I turned it back on and used it for a couple hours, stepped away for 40 minutes and it shut down again. I turned it on, and within 2 minutes the power cutout. Then it wouldn't turn on at all, I would push the power button on the front panel and the light would flash like it normally would when it was powering up, but no fan whirling and of course no power.
So.. after trying to reset the PMU, it turned on, I zapped the PRAM, and right as it was loading the desktop, it's died again. And now it won't come on, just flashes once when I try and turn it on (the power button light).
Is this a sure indicator of a dead or near death Power Supply?

Could be a bad battery. Have you ever changed it?
I would check it first. When mine went, I had no response from my Mac at all; just a light on my power button; absolutely no boot at all.
Check out things in Texas Mac Mans tutorial on the subject. His tutorial is a little dated (don't believe it even mentions G5's) but the info in it, except SMU not being included, still applies.
    Cheers!

  • T400 - Won't Power On, No Lights

    Hi all,
I have a T400 from early '09. It's been a fantastic laptop, though I now only use it for when I travel.
Over the last year it's been running very hot, especially when playing games. I've been using a portable fan to cool it down, didn't think about getting it checked out because I didn't use it very often.
Today it froze up and I force shut it down by holding the power key. When it rebooted it ran a disk check (I had a sleep and didn't see the results) and when it loaded windows it was running extremely slowly. After a bit of experimenting I worked out the wifi and switchable graphics drivers weren't working. I was able to get it to a usable state by disabling the discrete graphics in the bios and booting into safe mode.
I was going to reinstll the drivers. While they were downloading I tried to re-enable the discrete graphics (in the bios) and booted. However before I got to the boot manager screen, I got a BSOD (c000021a). I turned the laptop off, but it would not start again. None of the lights on the laptop are working, even though it is plugged in.
The only things I changed in the bios were the switchable graphics (which I changed back to the default setting) and the "beep" on hibernation. I have no idea if the battery has any charge, it should be at 100% as it was plugged in the entire time. I noticed the laptop was running very hot while I was working with it.
Our tech guy seems to think the motherboard may have overheated and "melted', but I will be away for a couple more weeks and he doesn't have any experience with Lenovo computers. So I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this before, or if there are any tricks to getting the laptop booting again (if it isn't a motherboard issue)?
    Thanks!

    Try the 10-30 routine.
Remove battery and disconnect from AC. Now press the ON button 11 times and on the 11th press hold it in the ON position for 30 seconds. Attach AC and see if it starts.
This issue has plagued old Thinkpads forever. I have not found the true cause other than my speculation of age related.

  • Power and battery lights are dim. Any solution to this problem?

Yesterday, I was on my computer searching online when all of a sudden the computer just shuts down by itself.
I was wondering why it did that and I thought it was going to restart but never did. I tried to turn it back on, but nothing didn't happen. I saw the power light on or "the power button" but it was dim. Then the battery and the power light in the front left side of the computer [LED lights] was also dim. I tried taking the battery out and hold down the power light button for 30 sec...still not turning on and still get the same results. It also does the same when I leave the battery off and just plug in the adapter. Don't know how to fix this problem and I have a compaq presario cq61. Do anyone know what''s the cause of this problem??

Were there any modifications made prior to getting this? I would try system restore first to isolate the oftware issue. Looking at this, may appear to be a hardware.
I would call tech support on this. And check my options.
