I am having an issue with a cad program: Cabinet Vision Solid. It is a CAD/CAM software that links to my CNC machine.
When I am in 2d mode, there are dimensions on a certain part, showing height and width, and a layout grid. The dimensions and grid are supposed to be visible no matter which way I view a component. The dimensions, and the grid disappear as soon as I switch views, or only partially show up.
I have this software installed on several PC's without the same issue. I have even tried a different display, to no avail. Most of the other systems have only onboard video
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i think this problem is on the program. try uninstalling it and reinstalling it over again. download the latest vga drivers as it always have fixes for some issues. if the problem persists, look in the programs manufacturers site and make sure your vga card is compatible to the program.,

  • [GeForce 6] nx6600 vtd256 driver problems

Hey guys, new here. I just bought a nx6600 vtd256 video card and am having problems. First, after installing the card (physically), and the comp boots up, i start to install the disk software (driver and programs). After installing the drivers for the card, it reboots and i get my post screen, then my windows xp screen (with the green bar running across) but when the screen goes to where it says welcome, all i get is a black blue screen and my mouse is in the hour-glass shap and locked up. I went to safe mode, uninstalled the card, and rebooted. No prob, booted fine. Then i just run the MSI live update 3, get the newest drivers, and restart. Bam, same thing. Safe mode, uninstall, and go again. Boots up, i go to this forum and see a post that says to download from nvidia. End up sith same result after install and reboot. I did notice though, that i am not getting the nvidia display properties in my display properties window (the extra program controls are not installed). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, power supply numbers are as follows, +12 12a 144w, +5 35a +3.3 24a (+5 and +3.3 = 190w)

also i have noticed, that witht the card installed, it doesnt show up at the very first of a power on.

  • NX6600 VTD256 intermittantly found as new hardware on XPPro startup.

    Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem with my NX6600 VTD256 intermittantly being found as new hardware when starting up my computer. When the found new hardware wizard pops up I simply choose no for the installation and reboot. Every time I've done this with 1 exception the following startup is normal with the card found. ( the 1 exception was catastrophic and is documented in the linked thread)
Here is a link to the thread I have going in the MotherBoard section of this forum because I first thought it to be an IRQ issue. All my system Particulars and what I've tried are in the thread. Warning long read!
Thank you in advance for any suggestions that may be offered.

    Hi Richard,
I did follow the advice in the windows drivers we recomend here thread and downloaded Driver Cleaner and used it following the instructions for removing Nvidia drivers. This is my second fresh install of winXP. Both on a new formatted hard disk.
    Here are my IRQ settings.
Although I disabled all the periphials I could in the Mobo Bios. USB, Serial ports, Parallel Port, and LAN. I also removed the 2 dvd's from the computer and had only 1 sata HDD. 1 gig mem stick, and the VGA card hooked up. I there were quite a few open IRQ's and nothing was sharing any. Here is what happened:
    Quote
It didn't take as long as I expected!!!!
I disabled everything that I could in the Mobo Bios Sound,USB, Lan, Serial Ports, Printer Port and disconnected the power and cables to the 2 DVD's, and power and cable to #2 SATA drive! Had to start up about 30 times and Pooof I think my VGA card just went belly up!
On the last 4 startups the resolution is stuck on 640 X 480 X 60 Hz  4 Bit. Now the found new hardware wizard does not come on but the "Your screen resolution is set at a very low level would you like windows to automaticlly adjust it?", comes on!  I clicked yes but nothing changed! I tried to go to settings to change it but the only setting I could access was the Display Frequency and when I changed it and clicked OK nothing happened it reverted back to 60 HZ!
I checked in Device manager under Display Adaptor and it says the device is working normally, All the drivers seem to be there as well.
What now?  I tried to restart it 5 times and it is stuck on 640 X 480 X 60 Hz 4 Bit.

Well my panic attack is over! Hehehehe The fun never stops with computers does it??? Grin
What I did do before reading your reply was, BTW I just finished with it and came on here to post and saw your reply,
What I did do was uninstall the NX6600 with device manager and restarted after I hooked everything I had disconnected back up to the computer and re enabled all the disabled devices in the Mobo Bios.
Well Windows found the video card and I reinstalled the drivers that came with the installation cd.
And all is well again which leads me to the conclusion that I have a VGA driver problem.
I then removed the Nvidia drivers removed norton system works completely from the computer. and installed Nvidias V.91.31. worked fine for a few startups then the found new hardware wizard came on with 640X480 60Hz resolution. rebooted and all was good. Then I tried the method in the windows drivers we recomend here thread removed all the nvidia drivers with Driver Cleaner, Disabled norton and installed Nvidia's V77.77 drivers. the problem came back again.

  • [GeForce 6] NX6600-VTD256 AGP and HDTV output

I am looking for a VGA card for my mediacenter on a HDTV plasma.
On the website it says that the NX6600-VTD256 has an HDTV-vivo cable as accessoire.
Is this cable also available in the Netherlands, and does it come with the package ?

    Thanks for the reply.
although it does not come with the component video cable, can you tell me if it is possible to connect component video to the adapter.
Do you have an picture of the adapter ?
Yes it is possible, but I haven't done it because I don't have a HDTV. Scroll down the page to the bottome you will see the adapter on left side. It's component video output, not input.

  • IRQ problems with 865PE Neo2V and MSI NX6600-VTD256 VGA

    Hi All,
I thought I would try a posting here first for help before filling out the cumbersome service request form. I recently purchased the 865PE Neo2V motherboard with an intel 3.2Ghz processor, 1 Twinmos 1024MB DDr400 memory, 2 Maxtor Diamond 250GB S-ATA HDD's and the MSI NX6600 VTD 256  AGP VGA card. I am also running a Plextor 716a dvd burner and a Toshiba DVD Rom on the secondary IDE slot nothing on the primary for 2 S-ATA drives and 2 P-ATA for a total of 4.  I have always had a very good experience with MSI products in the past, easy to install and for the most part problem free. That is until now. I am having a rough time with the VGA card and IRQ conflicts. In the past with all my MSI motherboards I was able to choose ( Reserve IRQ for VGA) Not so with the 865PE NEO 2V.( Unless I am missing something and doing it wrong) To make a long story short the MSI NX 6600 (NVIDIA GeForce 6600) VGA card is sharing IRQ 16 with Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2 and Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24DE. For the most part the system runs OK except every so often during startup the system loses the VGA Card and tries to reinstall the card and software. After reinstalling the software the first time it happened I subsequently tried choosing Cancel on the prompt to install and simply reboot the computer. To my surprise the system always seems to see the VGA card on the second boot! and works fine. I have been running the system for two days now with the USB disabled in the bios which gives the VGA card IRQ 16 by itself,  so far the system has seen the VGA card each and every startup without problems. Since the USB and AGP are fixed I am unable to move anything. Unfortunately I need the USB for my printer and scanner. I would also like to add that I have the latest BIOS upgrade for the Motherboard and the latest MSI Drivers for the VGA card.
Any suggestions on how to get the VGA card on its own IRQ?
    Thanks for any input
    Mike
Edited to add that For an OS I have WinXP Pro service pack2

or rather, the poorly installed drivers.
    Frankenputer
I take umbrage with your statement. I installed the latest drivers from MSI correctly! I also chose not to install the very latest as they are a Beta version with the warning they may be unstable!  Perhaps I was under the misguided impression that I would be better off with the latest drivers offered by MSI for the particular VGA card I paid my good money for! ( this is the main reason I thought the problem was not driver related!) It is not my fault that MSI dropped the ball in its offerings to its valued customers!
Just because I was being polite to Hans who offered so much good advice and showed such a genuine concern for my troubles doesn't mean I had not read the advice from Nvidia on how to uninstall and reinstall "their" drivers! I will admit though that from my read on Nvidias suggestions they did not go as far as to recommend uninstalling the norton works completely, only disabling it!
On another note My computer seems to be starting so far without the problem!  On yet another note after installing Nvidias driver package Version: 91.31 You get a warning every time you start up that the SLI is disabled. (unless your sli equipped) I found a fix for it and have it stored on my web space if anyone wants it. It is a zip file and I guarantee that I've scanned it with Norton and it is virus free. After unzipping it and clicking on it it makes an entry into the system registry removing the warning.
    It is here:  http://home.casema.nl/mdybus/FixSLIBug.zip

I just checked my email and have a reply from the service department. Here is what they said:

The latest driver for the VGA can be found on www.nvidia.com. We (and
other VGA vendors) do not make our own drivers, nVidia (and ATI) make
the drivers. So at the website from nVidia the latest drivers can be
    found.

  • [GeForce 6] NX6600 VTD256 Replacement Drivers

I recently formatted my buddies computer. He lost his cd with the drivers for the card. I've downloaded drivers, but we still can't get the computer to play video. Whenever you try to load a video, it'll just jack the media player resources up to 99 and do nothing. Where can I find the replacement drivers for the card? I'm thinking i never grabbed the right drivers.

    1 Seagate 80Gb HDD
    SoundBlaster Live 128
    3 Com 100Mbit NIC
    OS: Win XP SP2
I used the MSI Live Update Utility. Mobo's BIOS was flashed, XP all updates installed. I downloaded MSI driver 77.6? for the 6600. Here is what happens.
With the original 6600 drivers(66.xx) on the CD, games work fine etc. If I install any other newer MSI driver, games work fine, BUT Real Player, DivX, Windows Media Player 10 use 99% of the CPU. I rolled back to the 6600 CD Driver and both games and  video now play. Has anyone found a work around for this? Any help will be most appriciated.

  • Freezes with 865PE

My computer will freeze at random, it can be while I'm writing, or it can be during a game. Occasionally I will get a message that the GPU has reset, but usually I don't get anything. Windows isn't making an event, so I have no way of tracking these crashes. The RAM itself is good, and the computer will still crash with a different video card in it. When it crashes I almost always get some manner of annoying sound over my speakers.
I suspect something is wrong with the north / south bridge, but I have no proof. Any help would make me very happy.

    - My GPU has the stock cooler on it and it's dust free but is very hot to touch. I have no software that will monitor the GPU's temp, but my guess is borderline overheating (what would a good idle temp be ... 60C ?). All the temps that I can monitor are good, and my CPU heatsink is clean, and very good (AC freezer 7)
    - Memtest freezes after 23 seconds, every time. I put the RAM into a compaq I have, ran memtest for an hour and recived no errors. I put the RAM back into my computer, upped the voltage to 2.7v. (still freezes after 23 sec) I couldn't find RAM timing in the BIOS, but there was a DRAM frequency is this the same thing?
As for your questions in this post. My MSI NX6600-VTD256 idles at around 40C and only reaches 43C under gaming load with COD:UO or COD2. It should NOT be hot to the touch. It should feel warm, but not hot. 40C is about 90-100F. If yours is getting hot to the touch, I would increase airflow to that part of your computer. I have a fan inside my computer sitting on top of my hard drive directly across from my graphics card to move cooler air into the area that my GPU fan is pulling air from. The best thing is to buy a case with a temp probe so that you can monitor that temp as well as the other temps you can monitor with core center.
Now for voltages. First I have all of my voltages turned up to about .25V over what is stated that they require in the literature. I did that in the core center, so that I can monitor my voltages on the rails while I adjust the voltages going to the components.
Lastly, RAM timing is not the same as RAM frequency. The timing has to do with latency or how fast the RAM can store and burp up the info put in. The frequency is how fast information moves around on the system buss. If the frequency is too high, and the timing too slow, it makes for a huge bottleneck at the ram.
I would set all settings in your bios back to default. Just in case you turned on DOT or anything like that. Then I would kick out the kingston.. You don't need it if you have 1GB with the patriots. This way you can work in dual channel mode. Just put them in DIMM 1 & 3.
I would also uninstall your ATI graphics card and download a fresh driver and re-install it. Also, reinstall your sound card drivers!! I have an audigy 2zs as well, and this has happened to me before when the drivers got corrupted, also the SB Aud2ZS cards are picky about the location on the board. You need to have it within the top 2 PCI slots on the board. I have mine in the second slot with nothing between it and the video card.  Do all this and let us know how it turns out.

  • [GeForce PCe] Help with TV-out and DVI on NX6600 PCI express

My NX6600-TD256E doesn't give me any output on TV-out (S-vid) or the DVI. The VGA is okay.
On my old Radeon card you had to switch the TV-out on in software. On the NX6600, I can't find anything in software to let me do this. Should the TV-out work all the time or does it need enabling somewhere. I've been through every tab on the Nvidia driver in the system tray and the display properties. The manual doesn't cover my card but a similar model and the screen shots are different.
The DVI doesn't work if I go DVI from the card to DVI on my monitor. The Card is DVI-I and the monitor is DVD-D. I would have thought that this should work. If I use the DVI out through the  VGA adapter to go DVI from the card to VGA in on my monitor it works, but this just means there is an analog signal coming out the DVI.
    Any help?

Not sure about your card but with most geforce cards,  you have to go into the nvida control panel to enable tv out.

II) V--Video-In, it means you can capture video or pictures from the video devices. You need to install capture driver and capture software from the CDs coming with the card.
