NX7300 LE sytem crashes
Hi, i'm newbie to add-ons VGA cards so plz help.
I installed NX7300LE VGA card and since then everything is going mad. My system and the display freezes for a while, sometimes it returns back and MANY times i got this blue screen saying that "windows has to reboot to prevent damaging my Pc" and this is because of display driver nv4_displ and it reboots.
This mainly happens when i'm running media and 3d games.
I searched for updates and installed the driver update, rebooted and the screen resolution and color depth becomes at minimal and can't be tweaked. So i uninstalled the update and it comes back normal again.
I've read several articles and tried many things like over clocking and all this but Nothing. I updated My motherboard drivers but still nothing.
My specs are:
Software: Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2

Your PSU also has questionable amps on the 12V rail.
If the driver does not solve your problem, then try and test the card in another system or with a single rail PSU that has a bit more amps on the 12V rail.

MSI GeForceFX 5700LE crashes during 3D game-play
i've been getting this problem since 3 days ago when I upgraded to this MSI GeforceFX 5700LE TD256,the system runs quite well under normal condition, that is,when no 3d game is running. once I start running any 3D games for like 3 minutes or less, the sytem crashes and I have to reset it, I tried the same game with my onBoard VGA card and there's no problem.
Mainboard: MSI 865GM2-LS,with updated BIOS and Intel INF
VGA: MSI GeforceFX 5700LE TD256
CPU: Intel P4 2.8G
I've also got a creative live! 5.1 sound card,a firewire PCI card,a PCI TV adapter,a maxtor 80G harddisk and a TDK CDRW
There're 3 case fans.
PSU is an Antech rated 350W max.output
Here're what i've tried:
1.Plugged out all PCI cards and case fans only left with the VGA card, the sound card, the harddisk and the CDRW,and updated to the newest VGA driver, mainboard BIOS, and increase the AGP slot voltage to 1.6V, no luck
2.Adjust the memory clock,3d clock,2d clock to its min. value, the original value's 400,250,225 respetively,I changed 'em all to 200, now the system runs OK, but since 400,250,225 is the original value for the card, I dont understand why it doesnt work with that clocking.
Since I'm using an Antech PSU, and I tried to plug everything out, so I dont really think there's a problem with my PSU,though it gets a bit hot sometimes.
Can anybody figure out what's wrong? Thanks~~download the lastest driver 61.67 from http://www.nvidia.com

ExpressCard (PCIe) hot-swapping issue only happened in MacBook Pro 6.1
ExpressCard (PCIe devices) with hot-swapping issue only happened in MacBook Pro 6.1. But there is no this issue at all in MacBook Pro 3.1 and MacBook Pro 5.2.
I had tried ExpressCard to SATA2 Adapter (Silicon Image 3132 ASIC), ExpressCard to 1394 Adapter (TI XIO 2200 ASIC), ExpressCard to USB3.0 Adapter (NEC D720200 ASIC) and ExpressCard to SDXC/UHS-I Adapter (JMicron JMB389 ASIC). I had got Kernel Panic (Sytem Crashed) for ExpressCard to SATA2 Adapter, Other three devices can not be detected when we process hot-plug / hot-removal these ExpressCard (PCIe devices).
We expect Apple can solve ExpressCard (PCIe) issue by updating EFI / OS Software. Awaiting for your kind reply~ Thanks in advance!http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2665060&start=0&tstart=0

First, I deleted all these files, then i follows the following procedure
1. For libgexiv2 file i upgraded 'xorg-server, xorg-xinit, xorg-utils, xorg-server-utils' from pacman
# pacman -S xorg-server xorg-xinit xorg-utils xorg-server-utils
2. For libraw file i upgraded 'libraw' from pacman
# pacman -S libraw
There will be some conflicting files
After deleting some conflicting files it solves the problem and restore all the 'lib' file. -
Thanks for any help that may come of this question. I'm not very fluent in the technical nitt gritty of computer hardware/software, but I've been using computers for years and I catch on quick. This goes for the "boot" problem I am getting.
My sytem crashed the other day after the northbridge cooling fan failed. I just finished replacing my northbridge cooling fan with a Vantec Iceberg and I tried to start up the computer. I did have to partially remove the motherboard to do this, so I had to disconnect several cables include the hard drive. I do believe, however, that all cbale s have been properly reconnected. When I power up, I see the color MSI logo pop up, it then appears to start "booting up", or whatever the next process is called. In doing so it gets to a point where it says:
Client Mac Add 00 0C 7615 4C E6
No Boot filename received
Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter
Not knowing what to do, I found a floppy MSI Bios Update Disk that I had made at some point and inserted this ( a mistake perhaps?) It flashed the bios, finished its work, and the problem still persisted. At one point I was able to get into a screen that appeared to show a boot order, and it had the CD ROM, another drive (forget which one), and LAN. But I did not see the hard drive listed. Am I correct in assuming that the issue is that the motherboard is trying to boot up the sytem, which it would normally do from the hard drive, however it cannot locate it?
I have started the process of searching these forums, and I found one that seemed to have the same issue but I had a little trouble understanding what they were getting at. Any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.Quote from: swat148 on 19-October-06, 06:10:38
BOS, thanks for the help. The corrective action wasn't quite what you outlined, so hopefully you'll read this and just confirm that my actions were okay. I entered into a screen (forgot how I got there, F8?) that dealt with arrays. What is an arrary and what is the significance? One of the boot messages had mentioned that there was no array defined. So in this screen I defined the 1 array as my hard drive. And that was it. After that the system would load into windows? Was this a correct action to take? Because the BIOS had my HDD0 as the first boot source, but the error still persisted till I defined an array.
Also you asked me what the temp was. I don't know how to locate a temp specific to the northbridge chip. My PCAlert 4 shows a CPU temp of 50C and the system temp is 39C.
Also, in the manual for the motherboard, I noticed a FAQ that said you shouldn't connect a Vantec fan directly to motherboard because it draws to much power. So I connected right the PSU. This however, prevents PCAlert4 from being able to monitor its speed. Is this a problem? Is there a way around it?
Last thing, regarding my post to the fan thread, do you see a problem with the fan only set up on the chip?
Again, thanks for all the help.

yep thats other possiblities, for some reason your fastrack was lost array and need to be reconfigured. after seening the message: "No array defined" you should press "CTRL+F" to entire in a utility and to re-setuped like you already do. you have done correct.as boot priority HDD0 or SCSI.
"What is an arrary and what is the significance?"
SATA disk on your mainboard will be recognised only when its defined in array via Onboard Promise Controller.
"Also you asked me what the temp was. I don't know how to locate a temp specific to the northbridge chip. My PCAlert 4 shows a CPU temp of 50C and the system temp is 39C."
you can use Everest to observe it: (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=100852.0) Example:
"Also, in the manual for the motherboard, I noticed a FAQ that said you shouldn't connect a Vantec fan directly to motherboard because it draws to much power. So I connected right the PSU. that is the correct way. no FAN RPM monitoring is not problem. you have done best.
"Last thing, regarding my post to the fan thread, do you see a problem with the fan only set up on the chip?
Again, thanks for all the help."
nope should be fine if NB temp remain acceptable, if temeperature is normal. but with other copper vantec base should be lowest. basicly if your NB temp is good/low there is nothink to worry.
you are welcome mate. -
This machine was purchased in 2013. On having numerous issues with product, overheating, and random other sytem crashes. This is the latest and fatal issue. A few months back i noticed the left display hinge was loosening up, after it got very wobbly i decided it was time to open the case and tighten the hinges. ( this issue is very common on laptops and not exclusive to HP) HP offers a service manual that explains the procedure in detail and is not difficult, providing you follow it.I tightened the screws and and reassembled the case. Recently i noticed the hinge (left side) was coming loose again. Before i had a chance to open the case and repair it again. The case fractured completely from the hinge and on opening the lid drove the broken case corner into the cooling fan and bound it up, not to mention damaging the CPU cooler itself. Now i was extremely up set that the screw i had tightened recently had fallen out causing the damage. No the laptop is out of service , due to over heating caused by the damaged cooling fan, I can not even keep the machine running long enough to save some of my files. I had to remove the HDD from the machine and mount it in a portable drive enclosure to recover the files i needed. That being said I wanted to see what exactly happened and see if i could repair the machine a second time. What i found was very disturbing. I found that the 2 of the screws on the hinge were still in place and tight, the 3rd screw ( threw the case into the top cover) was still inplace on a metal insert that was mounted to the lid , had pulled out. This put all the stress on a very flimsy bottom case (plastic) web. With the hinge binding up (tight) it snapped the case itself, causing all the issues listed above. To me this appears to be a design issue, and very poor engineering. i contacted HP on Face book about this and nor in so many words i was told, to take the machine to a service center and it would be repaired for a small fee. i contacted the recommended service center (best buy) and asked what an appropriate charge would be. What they told me was they would not repair any HP unless it was purchased form them, and a estimate of repair would be at minimum $300.00.( this is not a small fee). On searching for some one at HP to contact about this i found this forum and read 4 pages of the same issue, while they did not go into root cause, I can only assume it is the same defective manufacturing design. I think we can resolve this to both our satisfaction. HP if you want to justify my concerns, replace the laptop or issue me substantial credit for purchase of an other machine, it is now up to you.
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

My FIOS wireless internet signal is really poor. I'm talking won't go across the room. If there is more than one wireless computer using the internet the whole sytem crashes or slows to a crawl. Several calls and on line tune ups did not solve the problem. I purchased an extened range antenna and that did not help. With my old broadband router (Also verizon) I could work anywhere in the house. Any suggestions?
Why wouldn't it be the CPU? A 2.4 Ghz clock will actually produce very broadband interference. Square waves such as those commonly found in computer clocks are notorious as broadband intereference sources, so a 2.4 Ghz CPU is likely to make the entire 2.4Ghz band in the vicinity of the PC unusable. While other devices may be in the 2.4Ghz band, most are designed to users, as opposed to abusers, of the band, and operate on discrete frequencies within band (if they operate in the band at all. Cordless Telephones can be 49Mhz, 900Mhz, 2.4Ghz, or 5.8Ghz devices). You can generally get around interference from other users in the 2.4Ghz band by picking another channel within the band. You generally cannot escape broadband interference because it blankets the band.

Currently running 10.2.8
When attempting to boot Classic (9.2.2) is appears to boot fine until all of the icons install. On the last step (the final part of the installation) it hangs up and will complete the process.
So far I, did a restore from my orignal 10.2.3 system disc. This did no good at all. It keeps hanging up in the same spot. This problem appeared after a a full sytem crash on 1/2/06.
Any advice would be appreciated.Hi Schucon:

I915_wait_irq crash - HP Compaq nx7300
Hi,
I have some problems with my laptop (HP nx7300 with intel core2duo, and intel 945GM) - it hangs while playing 3d games (sauerbraten), in wine and sometimes when I leave HP running for few days without reboot. Result is always the same - X server crashes with black screen and green stripe in upper part of it, tries to restart by itself but fails. I can only reboot with sysreq or ctrl+alt+del. Only thing I found in logs is:
[drm:i915_wait_irq] *ERROR* EBUSY -- rec: 112684 emitted: 112688
What's unusual when compared with other crash reports is that X server sometimes crashes when left for long time - I use kdemod with no screensaver, I only leave transmission running in background. And wine - I'm running 2d games on it and I don't understand why it makes X crashing the same way sauerbraten does (unless wine is using opengl for rendering 2d...).
Some things I've tried already:
1. Changing driver i810<->intel
2. Changing AccelMethod (both EXA and XAA)
3. Disabling DRI - I'm not sure if it works: eg. sauerbraten drops framerate to <1fps so it's unusable...
Points 1. and 2. make no difference for me, sauerbraten still hangs. I tried also some switches for EXA ('greedy' one, for example).
I would like to know if someone with nx7300 had such problems and is there anything more I could do with those errors - I'm not even sure if error is triggered only by opengl, maybe chipset is overheated (I have also WnXP Home and sometimes it hangs with black screen after few hours)?
I can provide logs if needed.
Cheers,

Where did you get that kernel?
I tried to compile my own kernel once, not that I needed to, but I thought it would be fun. Unfortunately, all those options overwhelmed me (do I need support for foo or is it safe to disable that? should it be built in, or a module?) Just too many options about which I knew nothing. For this reason I'd rather not have to compile it myself. Plus, I don't know if it would actually help with my problem. -
HELP ! EMU 1820 crashes sytem
Hi,
My computer (Dual core PC) an hour ago experienced a power surge in a storm and now whenever i switch it on it freezea at the Windown XP bootup screen and all the lights on the Em 1820m dock come on and remain on for the duration, even when i try to boot up again.
I have tried running the cumputer in safe mode and it works fine (the sound doesnt work). When i try regular bootup it crashes.
Someone please advise and help.
Regards,
MAQHi,
I recently purchased an E-MU 1820. After installation I started cubase LE. After trying to change sample rate, the system went unstable. I rebooted it, but then it went in a Blue Screen Of Death during XP boot, with all lights (LEDS) on the EMU-1820 dock on. In Windows XP safe mode I could boot the system.
In my opinion the drivers are causing the BSOD. Problably some configurable item get corrupted in eg. the registry.
I resolved the issue with the following pocedure.
Power down and uninstall the EMU 1010 PCI board
Boot Windows XP in normal mode
Uninstall the EMU drivers (and all other EMU applications)
Power down and install the EMU 1010 PCI board
Boot Windows XP in normal mode
Install the EMU drivers again
Install updated drivers from the EMU website
After that I could record a 6 track/6 microphone recording with cubase LE.

Flash Player still crashing my sytem.
I’m using Windows Vista 64-bit, FF 15.0.1, IE 9, Flash player 11.4.402.265, Flash player 11 active X.
The computer still crashes when using flash player after following the instructions on http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html
I have done everything that it says and nothing! I have even done the installing/uninstalling with uninstall_flash_player.exe. I need a solution now, please.
LolyYour right Ortho_Fan; dust is a stealthly destroyer of computer equipment and it is always good to do physical routine maintenance. I wouldn't blame techies, I myself am a programmer . I think it is more a problem coming from the marketing department. I've programmed in Flash and adored using it (made pretty good money too). I was very disappointed when Apple started attacking Flash and Adobe (especially since it was Abode's products that kept Apple alive in the early years). But, this year, it seems like somebody in Adobe is intentionally sabotaging Flash.
A lot of people use the internet to view videos (cute cats, training seminars and so much more). I am so disappointed; it has become such a chore to keep watching both the video and my computers temperature and every few seconds (or minutes at the most), pausing it so my computer won't overheat and shutdown. They keep coming out with crash causing releases and blame it on everyone else. They really need to own up to these problems and fix them.
I can't imagine why any company would allow outside developers affect their software in a way that damages users computers. It's suicide and I think it will hasten the downfall of Flash. So sad . -
Tried to the OS X grade -sytem keeps crashing
i get the follwing message " The OS X upgrade couldnt be started because the disk macintosh HD is damaged and cant be repaired. Any help would be appreciated
Open Users & Groups system preferences and select your user name.
Does it indicate that you are able to administer the computer? -
The system is OSX10.5.8 Leopard on a 2009 imac. A new system was installed from the installation disks and the original system saved to a folder.
I need to use my Adobe programs, rescue my email, i-tunes and iphoto data. The disk utility indicates that my Time Machine back-up disk is damaged and I don't want to take a risk of having Time Machine erase my hard drive and try to reinstall the exact system existing at the time of the crash. There was over 650 gb of stored files that I was copying and removing from the drive at the time it crashed. The total size of the original system file is still about 650 Gb.
I would prefer to go back in Time Machine and only rescue the programs as most of the files have been copied to external hard drives, but I can't access the back-up hard drive from the new version of the Time Machine. Or by I don't want the Time Mchine to start copying the new operating system which would include all the data in the old system file. Time Machine was working fine at the time of the crash. No, the disk was backed up with time machine a few hours prior to the crash. I was unable to open the computer when I tried to restart it- got a grey screen with the spinning disk- after a few minutes the screen would go black and would reboot continuously, but not load any images or programs. I started the computer from the 10.5.4 installation disks and checked both the time machine external hard drive and the Imac internal drive with the disk utilities. Both showed as damaged --the internal drive and permissions were repaired, but the external drive (time machine back-up) was damaged and not repairable by disk utilities. I don't believe that the external drive for Time Machine was connected to the computer at the time of the crash as I was copying files to a different hard drive drive. And I was not having any problems with the TM back-up drive prior to the crash.
I accessed the Imac internal disk by firewire (as a target disk) and copied as many data files as I had room for on my external hard drives available. And I deleted quite a few files from the imac internal drive (mostly just jpegs, duplicate tifs, etc--nothing that was used by i-photos, i-tunes or the Mail program).
Then I installed a new OSX10.5.4 system from the installation disk and the old system was moved to a folder on the hard drive. I previousy had had the option to reinstall the complete system from Time Machine when I connected that drive and booted with the installation disks with the C key depressed. But it didn't seem like a good option because I was unsure of the condition of that external disk and whether it would be able to reinstall my data correctly, once it had erased my internal hard drive.
I'm considering buying some new external hard drives and backing up the present system to time Machine (so I'll still have my old data in the old system folder). And then I would try using the old Time Machine back-up to try to reinstall the sytem previous to the crash. That back-up would reinstall about 700gb of data and operating software and programs which sounds like a lengthy back-up. Since I have never used Time Machine to do a full reinstallation (I've only used it for individual files), I'm reluctant to do anything rash.
I'm a professional designer (with a deadline) but I can still use my Illustrator and Photoshop by opening them from the old system folder and saving the files to an external drive. So it's not neccessary to do anything hasty except to delete some of the excess art and document files that were causing the computer to run slowly and the Adobe programs to crash when I tried to save my work. I have quite a few books on tape in the i-tumes folder which is probably talking up tons of space but I don't where the i-tunes files live.
Thanks for any help. Peggy

Motion crashes while trying to open it. Please help.
Hi All,
This is my first ever port in any forum. I had Final cut studio installed on my computer and was working without any trouble. But Day before yesterday my friend installed some free plugins for motion in my Mac. That day it worked without any trouble. But the moment we opened motion yesterday with a template it opened but half of th template was missing. Like partially it was displayed and re was blank/black. So what i did, i downloaded Final Cut Studio Remover from google and removed FCS from my computer i did that for whole package. Then i tried to install it and had no trouble doing that. But the moment i tried to open application from that suite all them started crashing the moment i opened them with the below error message. What all i have tried is removed plist from my sytem, created new user account.
