NX7600GT No MSI info/Clock/Vivid/Starosd Tabs

Hi,
I also have tried several times intalling the MSI drivers 162.18 or 9147 and do not see the MSI tabs only Nvidia tab. I have followed the procedure of uninstalling using add/remove programs, rebooting into safe mode and then I have tried using various cleaners (Driver cleaner & Driver Sweeper). rebooting the system and then re-nstalling the MSI drivers. But still do not get the MSI tabs. I have also installed Dual Core Center & Starosd patch. I do not want to use Coolbits or Rivatuner as an alternative. I Purposely bought this video card because of the above utilities.
Many thanks,

  • MSI driver - new NVidia driver: MSI Info/Clock

    Hi,
    I first used the MSI driver for my new MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 AGP. I don't use any other MSI software.
    I now uninstalled this old NVidia (MSI) driver and installed the new NVidia driver. The "MSI Information" and "MSI Clock" tab remain. Do they still work (D.O.T. , etc)?
    Can these 2 tabs only be installed with the MSI driver on the CD that came with my card?
    Thanks!

    k tabs are controlled by msicpl.dll and will not removed, you will manually have to eradicate the file yourself. It should be in the windows directory but if you cannot find it just do a search."
    I now deleted the msicpl.dll from C:\WINDOWS but the tabs are still there.
    There is one more msicpl.dll in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
    Which one is the right one? Both? Or is one from Microsoft? Can I savely delete the one in \SYSTEM32 ? Should I restore the one in \WINDOWS?
    Thanks!

    Email me or post please!!!
    Thank you ?(

    wyles,
    Download and install the latest  nVidia ForceWare Drivers
    Delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows Directory and the problem will go away.
    If you want to be able to have the hidden functions, create a file with notepad and put this in it.
    Quote
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
    "Coolbits"=dword:ffffffff
    "NvCplEnableHardwarePage"=dword:00000001
    "NvCplEnableAGPSettingsPage"=dword:00000001
    Save it as agpsetting.reg to your desktop or anywhere you like. Then run it and it will give you all the hidden options from nVidia which include extra Resolution settings for your desktop and overclocking for both the memory and core.

  • MSI INFO & MSI CLOCK

    After numerous problems since installing my GeForce FX500 Ultra 256DDR I decided to Reinstall Windows XP.
    The drivers have loaded correctly (Thank You!), BUT I have found another problem  ;(
    In the Display Settings it shows the 2 tabs : MSI Info & MSI Clock. When I click on either of them I get a error message pop up which states:
    "You are Trying to run a DLL as an Application", which then asks me to send an error report to Microsoft and closes down the 2 tabs.
    Why is this happening  ?(
    Man I get fed up with problems.

    zero.TA,
    I will walk you though this:
    1) Delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows Directory.
    2) Download the latest DetonatorFX Drivers from the nVidia Website.
    3) Install the DetonaotrFX Drivers
    4) Use notepad to make a new file and put in it what I quoted below and then save it with the .reg extension.

    "NvCplEnableAdditionalInfoPage"=dword:00000001
    "NvCplEnableClearViewPage"=dword:00000001
    5) Run the file you just created and it will add itself to your Windows Registry.
    That will open all the extra options in the DetonatorFX Drivers including the Core and RAM Speeds for your GFFX.

  • How to get rid of D.O.T tab&MSI info tab?

    Hiya people
    Does anyone have any idea,s on how to get rid of the msi info and DOT tabs in the display properties
    I,ve looked thru the forums and someone said the msi drivers introduce a new dll to the win/system32 folder and the only way is to format the drive ,i don,t wonna do that as i,ve just recently formatted.
    Its not a major fault or anything as i think they are harmless, they just annoy me being there,i prefer coolbits for my overclocking.
    Any idea,s would be greatly appreciated thanks

  • Desp.cpl error opening MSI Info tab...

    I've just installed MSI 45.33 drivers for my FX5600-VTDR128 card under Win2K SP4... This is from a clean install of the operation system and before installing the drivers the video was the default "standard VGA" you get during the win2K install...
    The drivers work using directx diagnostics but when ever I go into the display properties dialogue and attempt to select the MSI Information tab I get the error dialogue:
    "An error occurred while Windows was working with the Control Panel file D:\Winnt\system32\desk.cpl"
    Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks
    Dave

    Richard,
    Unfortunatly because of problems getting my TV card to work I  have to use the more recent MSI drivers than the currently available Nvidia reference drivers...
    One thing I've noticed is that the desk.cpl file was one of the items updated in Win2K SP4... I might have to see if replacing it with an earlier version removes the problem. Anyway the MSI info tab being non viewable isn't that big a hassel so if I can't fix it I should be able to live with it...

  • Msi info viewer with dual core?

    hi all,
    msi k8t neo mobo
    amd 3800 x2 dual core
    1 gig ram
    600gb raid sata
    quick question, in msi info viewer should the cpu tab read ' number of processors 2 ' ?? at the moment it is 1.
    as i am using a dual core chip!!  i can see all the details if using cpu-z, the reason why im asking
    is how can i tell if windows is seeing both cores of the cpu??
    thanks in adavance
    dewi.

    First forget MSI's cute utils as often they simply don't operate well. They are made for many systems yes but they don't always work well.
    Best to chack with CPUz to see if both cores are working or in Task Manager as it will show you a graph for each CPU if Windows sees both cores.
    If you can still see just one core then check device manager. Under the CPU area you should not see uniprocessor. If that is what is shown then delete it and restart Windows. It should then plug and play a Multi Processor driver and you should be good to go.

    I have garage band ver 10.0.2 and am trying to add effects to an audio track but i have no info button or track info under the track tab.  How do i get these things to show up on my program?

    In GarageBand 10.0.2 you can no longer add all kinds of effects freely; this GarageBand '11 feature has been discontinued. Pick one of the predefined patches that already has the effects you want.
    However, you can add effects from the predefined audio units.
    You'll see the predefined effects on the track, when you open the Smart Controls. To add audio units, click the button and enlarge the the smart controls pane by dragging the dividing line to the Track Area upwards.

    Hi Memalyn
    Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
    My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
    If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
    Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
    Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.
    Matt

  • 5700 Ultra 3 - No ' msi clock' or ' msi info' tabs???

    I have an FX5700 Ultra card from MSI with the original drivers that were supplied with it installed. Prob is that i used to have the 'MSI clock' and 'MSI information' tabs under display settings, and now they are gone?? I upgraded the nvidia drivers to Forceware drivers and all was fine, but then accidentally set the refresh rates for the adapter and monitor too high. I had to reboot in VGA mode, uninstall the drivers and reinstall the original supplied drivers on the MSI CD. Since then i have no MSI tabs under display settings?? Any suggestions?

    man, if u wanna see the clock of the card, get a utilitary like rivatuner. it has a regfile which displays the clock . if u wanna see the clock displayed by msi and DOT, go to msi hp and get the latest driver from it. i recommend u to use http://www.nvidia.com latest drivers and use a utilitary to display your vga card clock.

    I have upgraded drivers, etc (current 41.07).
    Please let me know if you have a solution.
    Thanks

    Yeah man. I am really happy.( well, you might wanna punch me. i feel like an idiot).
    this is the first time I saw someone with the same bloody problem I faced for months. Well ,case_sensitiveuk , do not give up, because I am still working hard to solve this problem.
    "...well, I also have a P4S8X motherboard. definately something is wrong with this mobo. I was very confident that the mobo has some serious problems. now, you proved me correct..."
    lolz...Never buy motherboard from crazy companies like Asus who release their product with UNSTABLE BIOS.
    I am still using their BETA Bios because their so-called released version randomly boots my PC. What pisses me off is this...THEY ARE MAKING ME TEST THEIR BETA VERSION while I paid quite lot of money for it (£115)..i could have got a gigabyte motherboard for £55 and be happy with it!
    One more thing with that motherboard, on the AGP options on BIOS, i only have upto 4x, it does not show 8x...any ideas?
    "...a message will appear saying that the drive did not qualify the windows quality test ( something like that.).."
    Okay..that is kind of normal...it says similar thing with my ancient modem, and guess what IT WORKS!
    "...Win me has some wierd stability problems. win 98 is kinda old ..."
    TRUE! :-)
    I did not give up man..I thought they MSI will fi this issue with their latest update..well..they did not. WHY? I dont know...but one thing I can say..if a company like MSI who is unable to fix this problem, then learn from them an ddont buy their product...
    lolz
    As for deleting "..msicpl.dll..." as advised by Deathstalker and others, it did not help me. Why? Because It does NOT EXIST on my system.
    Having said all the above, I have to thank you guys for your help and letting me know other application exists like PowerStripper... :-)

  • No MSI info and MSI clock speed flags in display properties

    My problem is really curious. Several days ago I bought new harddrive and made clear instalation of Win98 SE. After that I installed VIA 4 in 1, on-board audio drivers, the new DirectX and then DetonatorXP drivers for my G4 Ti 4600. My problem is that in display properties I miss two flags descrabing my nVidia card - MSI information and MSI clock. System has detected card correctly. In advanced display properties I can adjust OpenGL and Direct 3D settings, AA settings, etc.
    My system is stable in every game and benchmarks, so it means that card works correctly. Powerstrip detects core and memory speeds correctly, under adapter options in this program I see 128 MB video memory, AGP 4x enabled, fastwrites enabled - everything is correct.
    But in display properties I do not see MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Why ??? I have also reinstalled VIA 4 in 1 and Detonator XP drivers - it did not help.
    Before byuing my new harddrive (80 GB Seagate,7200rpm) I had 30 GB IBM,5400rpm. Windows 98 SE installed on this harddrive detects card correctly too including MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Now I miss it. Any idea ???
    On both harddrives I have installed DetonatorXP 29.42 then I have updated to 30.82
    My system:
    MSI K7T Turbo 6330 3.0
    1,33 GHz Athlon T-bird
    512 MBRAM
    G4 Ti 4600
    80 GB Seagate BarracudaIV 7200rpm
    Win98 SE

    I installed the MSI Drivers from the MSI cd. All ok but the clock and info tabs were missing. I upgraded the driver from msi site to 3000 and no tabs.
     X(
    Before the GF4 i had a gf2 and i realized i forgot to uninstall the nvidia drivers before installing the new card's drivers. I uninstalled them and reinstalled the msi driver 3000. But no clock nor info tabs.
    Can someone help me? Are those tabs needed?
    I'm using xp pro, intel p4 1.8 on motherboard intel d850md, 1gb ram.
    Also the 3d turbo experience gives me msivga.ocx initialization error.
    Thanxs.

    hi i am having some small problems with my

    Guys,
    You could go get the latest nVidia Detonator4 Drivers from the nVidia Website.  Then you can delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows directory.
    For the extra features:
    Use notepad to make a new file and put in it what I quoted below and then save it with the .reg extension.
    Quote
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARENVIDIA CorporationGlobalNVTweak]

    "NvCplEnableAdditionalInfoPage"=dword:00000001
    "NvCplEnableClearViewPage"=dword:00000001
    Double Click on it and it will make an entry into your registry.
    That will open all the extra options in the Detonator4 Drivers including the Core and RAM Speeds for your GF4.
