O/p style for smartform changes with printer

Hi,
I have a smartform for which I see the print o/p in SP01.When I test with the test printer,o/p looks fine.However when I change the printer at runtime(or select some other printer in sel criteria),then when I see the o/p in SP01,the smartform data is printed in BOLD!
Can ayone suggest what settings need to be done so that smartform o/p is uniform irrespective of the printer selection!
I havent made any changes to the smartform smartstyle yet the o/ p is different as mentioned above.

We have a long list of different print forms for a service order. We would love to have a list of these forms appearing when clicking on "Print" button to choose from.
We have made appropriate settings in SPRO (CRM -> Basic Functions -> Actions -> Actions in Transaction -> Change Actions and Conditions -> Define Action Profiles and Actions & Define Conditions). Option "Print Immediately" is set, and the Output Device is set to local printer. So now we have the following results:
- When clicking "Print Preview", a window appears where one of the possible forms may be selected to be shown as PDF.
- When clicking "Print", one of the forms is being moved to spool. So, you may only enter the spool in GUI and send the document to printer.
There is only one help topic about printing, that says:
Prerequisites
Actions are displayed on the Print pushbutton if the following criteria are met:
-The print action is set as relevant for the toolbar
- A print smart form is defined as the processing type
- The action is set to Execute immediately
- The action is inactive, that is, it is set to be executed manually
Please, give us a hint on how to make customizing to send document right to the printer.

This Business Add-In (PRINTER_DETERM_PPF) is used in the Actions (CRM-BF-ACI) component. It enables you to determine a printer more flexibly than the standard Customizing activity allows you to. For example, if you want to print an e-mail confirmation from a local printer in your office, and not from the usual printer for your entire department, you can use this add-in to do so.

Network name keeps changing with Print Share

I have 3 iMacs on a network using a Brother MFC-9840CDW printer. My computer is set for print sharing. I keep getting messages that the name of my computer is already in use on this network and it keeps adding a higher number at the end of the name. But as soon as it does that, the other computer cannot print until I change my computer name back to the previous number. It works for a while, and then I get the network name error message again.
What can I do to resolve this? Thanks.

New MB user. have windows network. installed printer CUPS driver for my brother 7820N printer. can print when connected directly with USB. MB recognizes printer when not connected directly...must be going through the wireless network. try to print and little printer icon on DOCK starts jumping...says printer is Off-Line. can see the files in the queue.

I turned on Bold Text - the phone will restart itself, that's normal - and it is now MUCH easier on my eyes.

I have a Smartform which contains a header,body and a footer in a page.
This is a form for a report, which we have a column header and the positions. the problem is that if a current account haven't finish in that list (see the example)

Guys.
Remember that the columns header won't be printed only if the lines per account continues. I mean, the column header printing depends on the number of lines that are being printed.
If at the end of a previous page the list (for example the positions that belong to this account) still continues for an account, then in the next page the column header musn't be printed, just only continue printing the rest of the positions. As you notice this case would be found in any number of pages during the rest of the report.
I'm agree with all your solutions but this only functionin some cases for the first page.

When a smartform layout output is generated , I need the "Print Parameters"( or the "Spool Parameters" tab open , besides the "Print" button and "Print Preview" button . How do I get this ?

I need a table where all the status changes for a service order (ticket) are stored (with dates).
I know of CDHDR table, but there are no entries for statuses?

Changing the printer for transaction MIGO

Hi,
An output request is created in transaction SP01 whenever the transaction MIGO is executed. I am instructed to change the printer (output device) to a default printer if the storage type is '015'. How can I change the printer (output device) in the output request automatically if storage type is 015? What program will I modify?

Printer Determination by Plant/Storage Location
     In this step, you define per plant and storage location the printer from
     which an output type is printed.
     This is only relevant to output types with print parameter 7.
     Example
     In plant 0001 and storage location 0001, the goods receipt slips are to
     be printed from printer LT01.
     For output types WE01, WE02, and WE03, you define the entry
        Plant 0001 Storage location 0001 -> Output device LT01.
     Requirements
     You can only maintain printer determination for output types with print
     parameter 7 (plant/storage location). Check on the detail screen for
     output type whether this is the case.

Does any one have Step to step document on How to Generate MDM Web UI for Tracking Changes with SQL Server.
we are using SAP Netweaver Composition Environemnt 7.1,SAP MDM 7.1and Micorsoft Sql Server 2008.
I found few blogs and documents in SDN, but all of them were not with Composition Environment Version 7.1.
Already i activated Change Tracking in SAP MDM Console and i am able to see the changes to Field values in SQL with Select Queries.

Printing Material Description in Arabic for Smartform

Hi All,
I have created a custom smartform for printing the PO, Sales Invoice.
The material description is maintained from RTL-Arabic language in Material Master(MM02) - محبس بليه بلاكورين 75م.
I need to print the above material description alone within the Item window in arabic language as displayed above but it is getting reversed when I see the print preview of PO and Sales Invoice.
Initially, I got to know from some SDN forum replies that we need to enable Arabic Font in our workstation(PC) so that it can be solved and then some suggested that Arabic font should be installed in SAP system.(Tried both the options, but could not resolve issue).
Even we tried in SE63 to translate the text but we couldnot.
SE63->Translation->ABAP Objects->Other Long texts->FS(Forms & Styles)->SSF->Smartform Name->Source/Target Lang->Edit. Window with the english version opens at the top and at the bottom, there is an editable window for translation.
But I could not further proceed as I didnt know how to do translation for the text elements.
Correct me if I am wrong in these steps.
Could anyone suggest me a solution to resolve this issue and explain the steps to do the translation in SE63.

Yes we tried using the STRING_REVERSE FM. But the thing is the description contain some numerals in between the text, so it get reversed if we use the FM. So it wont suit our purpose.
Is there any printer configuration to be done to resolve this issue? Or any other settings within the smartform?
We have to display the text as maintained in Material Master, the variable get populated correctly while debugging but it get reversed when we look at the print preview.

Hi,
Goto Transaction smartform.
Place radio button on style, then give <b>style name</b> and
create it.
In paragraph format right click and create node.
Give some name it wil create a node.
Double click on that node than u can
change your style by using font tab.
You can create any number of node.
Save and activate.
Then in your smartform->form attributes->output options
Give your <b>style name</b>.
Then place the cursor on the text to be modified and
select your style from paragraph format.

Problem with printing barcodes to a Zebra printer via Smartform

Hi
I am trying to create a printed label from smartforms, being directed to a zebra printer. The label must include a barcode.
Via oss notes 750002 and 750772 I have imported the LZEB2 device type.
In SE73 I have created a system bar code on the new technology.
In the smart form style, I create a character type with this barcode font.
The barcode prints okay and can be read when it has up to 10 characters.
However we need a long bar code of appoximately 22 characters.
I can find no supported barcode type which will let me write a barcode of this length
The max length in the smartform style for the barcode format is always coming up as 50mm which is too short.
I have tried with using a printer bar code prefix and suffix with the native zebra ZPI-II commands, attaching to command nodes on either side of the text node in the smart form, But this does not seem to work.
Any advice ?

sounds like the variable containing the barcode data is too short...is it at least 22 characters long?

How to write print program for smartforms

Hi all
I need to develop new smartform and its print program.
But Im not experience in writing print program for smartform.
Ive gone through the simple print program sample that use only one table as input and one table for output.
But my smartforms require few tables for input and output.
How should I define the Data?
Can anyone guide me on how to write it.

Data changing with change of printer..

Dear All,
I am facing a problem of data changing (Description which is a column) in the table defined in the main window of a smartform by changing the printer.
We have a printer defined for dotmatrix printers and other is LP01.
Presently in our application we are using Dotmatrix printer for output. The printing was fine till today. today we have seen that description is repeating for some rows at randomly.
When we check the same with LP01 (which is of type HP laser jet ) the print is fine, that is description is not repeating.
This problem occuring randomly and we could not reproduce the error in quality or development systems.
Please give your valuable inputs on this, what could be the problem and how can we rectify this..

Changing Default Print Quality for Photosmart Printers in Stand Alone mode

Hello Everyone. I am using a group of Photosmart Printers in Stand Alone mode for events where I shoot and print on site. Although I have quite a few printers with me (6 total at a time), I prefer to have the printers print in "Normal" Print Quality Mode, instead of "Best". Images come out twice as fast, and because I have a disciplined shooting technique, I get "GREAT" results from the "Normal" setting. I and/or my assistant have to go to my "Preferences" to change my Print Quality everytime we prepare to print another batch of photos. Sometimes we have groups that will want 5 copies, and it simply takes FOREVER in Best mode, and really, although with a 5x Loupe I can tell the difference, My customers can't with their naked eye. Sometimes we forget to change the setting due to the pressure of the pace sometimes. OOPS!
I am using the following Photosmart Printers: A516, A512v and the 335.
As I stated, I don't use these with a computer, I drive them straight from CF Cards. I do have all the original software, if I need to use the computer to make some changes. Just tell me how. Manual says nothing about getting the setting to default to normal.

One way of assuring high quality would be to export the photo to the desktop (at highest quality) and then print from there.
In my own case, I find that when I occasionally print a photo from iPhoto, the quality is quite good.
