Go into the nearest Costco and look around, Tom. Mine doesn't have the mini - or if they did, it was long gone by the time I got there. They do have a bunch of 20" iMacs, though. With Costco, the stock varies from store to store. The people at the one I usually shop at are very good about checking their computer to see if something they don't have is available at another location.
Boy, that 20" iMac sure am pretty. It is the G5, though, which means Costco got those from Apple as closeout merchandise, too. Tempting. Very, very tempting, especially since my main computer is currently in intensive care. :(

The headline is from an email we received: "Verizon - Options for the next time you need customer service!" Well, we changed it, just slightly. Well, on 6/20/2013 we had the TV down; it was said to be a piece of video equipment that went down. We could not get anything on the TV until next day. The sad part is that we were watching the Heat-Spurs game and it quit just 1min-36sec. prior to the end of the game. Then, we could not watch our daily Netflix show we watch every evening before going to bed. So in calling twice, we found out about the video equipment problem. But typically Verizon, they replaced the equipment and thought nothing about the customer that actually lost the reception!! How about crediting us for the time "off the air". You can't have the cake and eat it too. Then, Verizon sends us emails about the bill, customer service, etc. but there is no way for us to email them back!! Why do they think my time is less valuable then theirs; having to call their customer service and to wait a long time for answer by someone in "God knows where country". What does that tell you about the customer service commitment! It's like, yeah you are one of the slob users that keep paying the bills for lousy service. Perhaps it's time for all of us to switch off our TV's for one or two days a week and not pay them for "our time off the grid". Having some couple of thousand TV's off twice a week may shake them up a bit. So here is my idea. Establish an email address where we can reach anyone in customer service directly, in our own state, not somewhere 1000 and more miles away. Additionally, if something is down, does not matter what time of the day, stand up for it and give the customer their credit due. Thanks for reading

It all depends how you use it.
Once the initial break in period is over, like the first year, it should run just fine as long as you don't abuse it, don't let it overheat, keep the dust out etc.
Do get the AppleCare as it's very expensive to repair a Mac.
Some tips:
1: Avoid using the built in keyboard and trackpad as much as possible. I know what's the use, but it's these too area's, the USB ports and the Superdrive that experience the most wear and tear.
2: If you do use the built in keyboard, take off your watch and jewelry, it scratches. mars, reacts with the case and discolors it.
3: The keybord is a bit weak compared to regular PC desktop keyboards, so use a wireless one, but have a wired one around for emergencies. The keyboard collects dirt, grime, hair, dust etc, underneath, you might want to have a light cover over the keys but still let air get underneath.
4: Be gentle with the audio ports and the Superdrive, don't use your computer for watching DVD's. The Superdrive is important for recovering the machine with the installer disk which also must be well taken care of.
5: A GOOD case, like a MacTruck or a padded one will absorb the shocks if dropped while transporting.
6: The biggest concern is other people, they just don't handle things with care because it's not theirs and they are ignorant or even spiteful of the money you spent to have a quality machine.
7: Clone your boot drive to a external regularly, in fact have two, one staggered back in time a few weeks, it's hold option bootable in case your hard drive dies. Free cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner or the commercial version Superduper does the job well.

When I put a network shared variable with fifo RT activated on my diagram, the arrow is broken.and I' ve got this message:

If I uncheck FIFO RT option for this variable the arrow isn't broken anymore.
I 've no idea how to correct this weird error?

I agree with Harm on both points. You should turn off cropping completely if you're going from a DV source (which you are) to an MPEG-2 DVD output (which you are). Just click the Crop button "off" on the Source tab.
If you're seeing weird distortions on some television/DVD players, you may have the aspect ratio settings set improperly in the DVD players themselves. Typically, these settings need to be changed when you're viewing anamorphic (16:9 widescreen) DVDs; you change the setting to match your display preference to your television. Sometimes, the settings are not correct, and will result in unwanted stretching. This isn't necessarily the problem you're up against, but it might be something to check if things don't look right. Other than that, everything looks more or less correct in the export settings.

Do you make labels for the DVDs that you burn?

I am wondering actually how many people make special labels for the DVDs that they burn. Do you? In looking at the choices of Taiyo Yuden blank DVD-R for sale on Amazon.com, I see a lot of descriptors that I assume to be for people who plan on making special DVD labels, which means an extra software program to print them out etc etc etc.

First, "19 years" of video could be a nightmare of footage? How many hours of tape are we talking here? Depending on that, it seems like you have to do some cropping just to sit down and watch anything with your kids. If we are talking only a few hours of video total, for now I would just play the tapes on the tv through the video recorder itself. MOst video recorders have "Video out" and "audio out" that you should be able to plug right into your TV, just like a Gameboy or PS3, and once hooked up you would select the source, just like a VCR, DVD, PS3 etc from the TVs menu. you should have a remote control for that video camera as well so you can control it from the couch. Put the camera in play mode and go.
If you have eons of tape, you may still want to do that option for now, and just fast forward as needed. Afterall, sounds like for now this is not the documentary of your lives, but a trip down memory lane.
Or you could import it all to your computer using iMovie, but realize that every hour i think will take up about 12 GB of harddrive space and you may need to pre-purchase an external HD to import to.
IF you import all of it, you could play the EVENTS (entire clips) without creating a PROJECT (Chosen clips or parts of chosen clips), and you can play it full computer screen by clicking on one of the arrows at the bottom left of the iMovie screen, under the listed events. And you can play that full event computer screen on your TV with proper cables, depending on what Apple computer you are playing from and what outlets (video in etc) your TV has. ALSO you will need to send the audio to the TV separately through the earphone plug (audio out) to the computer's speakers (audio in).
I have no experience with APple TV, mixed reviews, but what i think it does is what a airport express does wirelessly with audio for iTunes and music, Apple TV does for video off your screen? I may be wrong. Basically it avoids the cables. Appleman likely knows this and how good appletv is.

Not really. Constantly opening and closing the lid can affect the hinges not to mention some strain on the electronics. You won't burn it out, but you can somewhat reduce its life expectancy.

I ordered through a 3rd party mail order reseller for the rebate(2/20). I had called last Friday when they said it should be shipped. They said it had been pushed back until 3/24.I was notified Monday by email that my 1.83 was on back order.
Checked Monday afternoon, and it was shipped. They got 60 in that day ahead of schedule. So the supply might finally be catching up. Mine is due to arrive today!

I had an education order 1.83 w/1Gig ram. The original ship date was 3.13. The bad news is, it didn't ship 3.13 and I got an email this morning (3/14) that the ship date had been moved to 3.23. Ok so my hard drive crashed itself and I lost all of my iTunes songs/apps. So I was thrilled to find out that there was this thing called iCloud. So I downloaded all of my previous purchases. I didn't think about this until now but do I have to pay for those purchases again!?! I am freaking out right now because that is over 500 dollars that I would have to pay!!! I looked on the previous purchase page on my iTunes account and it doesn't record me downloading my songs/apps a second time. Does that mean that I am not charged? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
