Some posters have talked about installing Leopard on a FlashDrive, but I have seen no feedback.
Leopard requires 8 or 9 GB for the system, so the 16GB would be necessary, if you intend to install anything else.
For Tiger, you might be able to get away with the 8GB, but why take the chance? Especially if you later decide to upgrade to Leopard.
The install should be simple, just select the FlashDrive when asked for a drive during the install.
Let us know if you go ahead with it and how it worked out.
There are many interested in this but few seem to want to spend the money and experiment with actually doing it.

    It helped earlier but it has come back again. I don't know what to do. I tried what you said earlier but this time even this is not working either. And quite intrestingly my phone won't turn off. I turn it off, it goes off and then restarts on its own and then keep giving the same message again and again.
    Could it be a charging cable, is there any chance that the cable which was working fine one day could turn to be "incompatible" with iphone the other day????????

    In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref.<br />
    The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
    Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
    You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

    It sounds as if you only had one line with an upgrade available. So you can only upgrade one line. For you to upgrade as well, you will have to wait until your upgrade is available. You can check that at MyVerizon. That's just how it works. All carriers and phone brands are the same. I have to wait until February to upgrade. The only thing you can do to get the new iPhone, is add a new line. But then you're paying for a line you don't need.

  • Poor performance for the 1st select everyday for AFRU table

    Hello everyone, I have performance problems with AFRU table. Every day, the first time I run a "Z" transaction, it takes around 100-120 seconds, but the second time and following it only takes four seconds. What could I do, in order to reduce the first execution time?
    This is the select:
    SELECT * FROM AFRU WHERE MANDT = :A0 AND CATSBELNR = :A1 AND BUDAT = :A2 AND PERNR = :A3 AND STOKZ <> :A4 AND STZHL = :A5
    The execution plan for this select takes index AFRU~ZCA with an acceptable cost of 6.319. Index AFRU~ZCA is a nonunique index with these colums: MANDT + CATSBELNR + BUDAT + PERNR
    I'll appreciate any ideas.

    What database system are you using (ASE, Oracle, etc?).
    If ASE, for the general issue of the first exection of a query taking longer, the two most likely reasons would be
    a)  the table's data has aged out of cache so the query has to do a lot of physical i/o to read the data back into cache
    or
    b) the query plan for the query has aged out of statement cache and needs to be recompiled.
    This query looks pretty simple, so the data cache seems much more likely.
    To get a better feel, some morning run the query with
    set statistics io on
    set statistics time on
    then run it again and look for differences in the physical vs logical i/o numbers and compile vs execution times.
    You could use a scheduled event (Job Scheduler, cron job) to run the query or some query very like it a little earlier in the day to prime the data cache with the table data.

  • Fcpx poorly optimised for the new mac pro?

    'm experiencing low playback performance on fcpx 10.1.2 on my new mac pro:
    I'm on a 8-core, 64GB, d700 (project and files are all on the main drive. Im on the latest maverick update.
    Im working on prores 1080p and adding some effects to a clip and my playback really drops, so far I have been testing a few plugins such as hawaki "auto-split" or coremelts "track & slice X". I instantly need to render the effects to see the results, the funny thing is the same plugins runs smoothly on my macbook retina.. It made me wonder maybe the 3rd party plugin isn't optimised for the new mac pro but then I tried hawaki auto-split on Premiere cc 2014 and I was getting way better results than fcpx..
    This may seem like a trival thing but paying this much money for a product and having a bigger project with different plugins this gets really annoying..
    Anyone else experiencing any issues?

    QX 10 is QuarkXpress  (version 10 - latest version) – a pro publishing/page layout application. Adobe InDesign knocked QX off its throne over a decade ago. Now that Adobe have introduced their subscription model (as opposed to their former purchase upfront model), many pros like me are now looking for alternatives. QX is about the most likely.     If you plan on using AT&T, why on earth would you purchase a Verizon iPhone? Doesn't make any sense. Yea, it will work on AT&T's network, but you won't get LTE, only 3G. LTE requires using a Verizon sim.
    This is an extremely poor idea. Purchaase an officially unlocked iPhone, from Apple, if you want to use AT&T's network.

    I changed my Apple ID to my new email and now cannot find any way to access icloud. Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access.     In the nearly 9 years since I've been disabled I have had to use my card about 2 times.  Once was when I got divorced.  I dont know what the 2nd time was but I'm just figuring there was probably a second time.  And now this is the 3rd.
    I am missing a part of my brain called the mammillary gland - it controls the development of short term memory & I dont have it.  So that, combined with some areas near that being damaged makes it hard to get things done when things are working properly let alone when you come across a poorly made piece of software or hardware.  My short term memory is nearly non existant but I do have one.  But I am able to get some stuff done, especially if its things that I was familiar with BEFORE.  And with repetition.  With regards to my issue & my problem with iTunes, I'm running into problems because I dont know what is going on as far as why so much of my stuff is just AWOL.  I dont know? I updated my operating system last week or so and with that came the iTunes update.  I look inside and all Hades has broken loose.   I know that nobody has the obligation to treat me differently or whatever just because I've got this problem.  But what is the DEAL with this forum moderation???  I paid for these products and for the right to use these forums.  Now i have no access to a decades plus worth of content PLUS i cant get help here??   I just want help.  Why are you guys so mean like this?

    My daughter's iPad and my iPhone 5 are under one Apple id.  She was 10 and unless I lied about her birth date she could not have a email account.  Now she is 11 and has a email acct (lied about the age) so she could facetime.  Now she has the new iPhone 5c and I was told at the apple store to set her up a iCloud account and that way my contacts won't go on her phone.  It didn't work so I just shut off the mail and contacts on my phone and hers so they won't blend.  I still want to track her phone, her location and her purchases.  I trust her, just not others.

    you: For which I say that is really poor service. I teach all day and can't access a phone all day. Are you telling me that I can't buy your product unless I can call you during the hours that I am in my classroom teaching? That is not being consumer friendly at all.

    Not unless you can find an app that tracks that info. Apple's find my iPhone system only gives you the current location, or last known for devices that are offline. It does not provide historical tracking data.
    There are apps that track in real time, and record that info on the iPhone (although I don't know of one that will transmit that information anywhere, but there may well be such an app). Keep in mind that anything like that will eat up your battery life very quickly. Find my iPhone does not kill the battery as it basically only sends a location fix to Apple when asked for one by the server. So most of the time find my iPhone is NOT using location services, but is simply waiting to be pinged by Apple's servers when an authenticated user asks for the devices location.

    I Recently got a new Canon T5i. I also had to get a new hard drive for my Mac, it came with Yosemeti on it.  I am unable to open RAW photos in my PS CS4.  I downloaded the 7.4 update but it still won't work.  Any suggestions?
