O2010 default send from w/out changing primary adress w/exchange ?

Hello,
i have some users that need to send mail as coming from one of the generic distribution groups that are setup(f.e.: John needs to send mail as "customers@company", i have the sendas permits setup and it i expose the dropdown the user can select
how can he sends, but he needs to do it MANUALLY everytime he sends an email -extremely error prone-
Is there a way i can set the "default send as" in outlook 2010?, i've been searching the forum and internet in general but the question other people do is not quite what i want here(always with multiple accounts, pop3, office 265, stuff like that)

Hi,
We can set the "default send as" in Outlook 2010, but we can only set it to the default email account.
To force all new messages to use the default email account, regardless of which pst file you are viewing, browse to the following registry subkey in Outlook 2010 and add a DWORD named NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount
Value: 1
Important:
Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure
that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry,
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry
However, in your case, we can't set the "default send as" account to shared mailboxes, it's a current product limitation.

  • Default "send from" address when sharing photos in Backup Assistant Plus

    Hello,
Is there a way to change the default "send from" address when sharing photos in online storage from the Backup Assistant Plus app on the Bionic?  I have found the setting on the VZW website for e-mail address maintenance in Backup Assistant Plus, but the address I'm using on the site did not affect the setting on the phone.  This is not a huge issue, but under the current setting, the Bionic is using an address to which I no longer have access, so I'd like to update this address if it can be done.
Currently running Ice Cream Sandwich, 6.7.246.
    Thank you.

Found the answer - there is a second link for settings on the media management screen which controls the default sending e-mail address.

  • Override default send from email id and attachment name in email delivery

How to override the default send from email ID and attachment name to send an outbound document using Email Transport protocol in Oracle Integration B2B ?. I've seen that "[email protected]" and subject of the email message were used as send from email ID and attachment name respectively

    Ramesh,
I set the send from email ID as Generic Identifier for host and send to email ID as Generic Identifier for trading partner and used it in the agreement. How ever still the email message is generated with "[email protected]" as send from email ID.
However I noticed that the "FROM" field in the wire message is updated with the correct send from email ID which I used as the Generic Identifier for host.
    Please advise.

  • Is there a way to default send from one mail account across multiple mail accounts?

I have a user who has her own Exchange mailbox account. I have added two separate Exchange mail accounts. I want to be able to force her (even if she is in one of the other two mail accounts) to send from her own Exchange account. I know you can manually change it every time, but is there a way to force it automatically? Thanks.

Nope. There is no universal mailbox on the iPhone.

  • Can you send from a Hotmail alias?

    1) I have aliases set up in Hotmail. <br />
    2) I set up related Identities in Thunderbird (using IMAP). <br />
    3) I select an alias above in Thunderbird as the "From" when sending mail. <br />
    4) Mail is sent from the wrong alias! (recipient sees the wrong "From" address) <br /><br />
Hotmail seems to only send as its default send-from, regardless of which From identity was selected in Thunderbird. Is there any way to properly send from Hotmail (a.k.a. Live or Outlook) aliases?<br /><br />
    Thank you for reading!

I'm just confused as to why you thought your article was relevant here. It does not seem to address my question in any way. Thank you anyways.

3rd party email addresses have to be deleted on every synmced mac product, although I have 1and1.co.uk and my imac updatetes the mails in that account from mac mail.
Yahoo etc is a 2 step deleting process but good to get your emails pushed when on the go.

  • How can I change my Iphone default email send from an alias to the address I want?

My Iphone sends my emails "FROM" an alias address I have within my ISP email account. I don't want this alias to be used as the default send. It seems my IPad works fine as does my Imac and Macbook PRO. The Iphone is the only one that does this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,

Open iTunes on your Mac, click "iTunes Store" on the upper right, then click "Account" on the middle right.  Sign in there.  That will make the signed in account the "primary".

I have multiple email accounts in my iPhone 4. Before the 6.0 update... I could select what account to send from each time. Now it's a default. Do I have to go change the email default setting everytime I want to send an email from a different account?

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account.  The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

On your iPhone you need to change your password in 2 places:
    - Incoming Mail Server and
    - Outgoing Mail Server
To get to the password entry for the Outgoing Mail Server you have to tap on cell smtp.live.com and again on the second view.

  • HT2623 How to make my full name disappear when sending from my primary email address.

I would like to make my full name disappear when sending from my primary email address. so the recipient when receives my email can see only my email address, i.e. email address of the sender. In Preferences, Accounts, my full name is greyed out and I cannot change it. If I try to do Custom, it would let me change it, i.e. delete my name from Full Name box, but then when Mail is closed and reopened, it would lose the previously saved Custom setting and go back to the same. All my other aliases associated with this email account work ok and the receiver sees only the email address.
Does anyone know what is going on?

What if you remove the .mac account from the Accounts panel under mail Preference?
If that doesn't work, sign into the webmail at me.com, click the "sprocket" button and select preference, in preference go the the aliases tab see if you can remove the email address with your name. If not, go to composing tab see if there is anything you can remove from the +Identity: send email as field+. Good luck.

  • Message: "send mmap timed out" from a SSO instalation's HTTP_Server

    Hi to everyone,
first of all my apologize if i have written this in a wrong forum but i did not find any forum in particular to SSO.
When looking at the error logs from Apache in a SSO installation (10.1.2.0.2) i have found these entries:

Does someone knows what they mean ??
Is this a critical error ??
what should i do to fix the problem ??
    Thanks for your kind help

I think you are confusing things here.
While you can change the port used for submission from your mail clients to your mail server, you cannot (should not) change the outgoing port for your smtp server. All mail servers expect incoming traffic on port 25, thus using port 587 will not get your mail delivered (it will go through your firewall, but that's about it).
If your mail server (not client) is behind a firewall with port 25 blocked, there is no way it can send mail to outside domains. So either get your ISP to let port 25 through for your server or use your ISP's smpt server to send mail (this can be done directly, or through your mail server relaying through your ISPs server).

  • While connecting to the default instance from out side of the server it's reaches to Named instance ?i

    Hi All,
We have two named instance in "test" server. the names like test\a & test\b... The tcp\ip for test\a is dynamic and for test\b is default port 1433... Now customer requested to install the default instance...we had an issue with installation
that is the default port number is in use so, the default installation failed and then i changed the settings in registry to use the dynamic port for default instance and then i manually start the sql servers...seems all are good...but when i connecting this
default instance from out side of the box through SSMS it's pointing to the named instance which one having the default port number(test\b).
We can change the port number for test\b and assign that port to default instance...but the applications which are connecting to the test\b those are using the default port number...so, we don't want to disturb the connectivity...
is there any way to fix this issue with out changing the port number for test\b ?
it is urgent...we have to fix this issue ASAP..
    Thanks in Advance,
    rup

    Hi rup,
Glad to hear the issue is resolved.
As your post, if SQL Server is configured to use dynamic port,
it is difficult for application connectivity because the port number selected changes every time that the Database Engine is started.
From your description, you have changed the dynamic port number to static port number. To avoid a common pitfall, please also ensure that
you have deleted the entry (0 or some random port) for dynamic port in SQL Server Configuration Manager. For more details, please review this
    blog.

  • Customer Master - Preview (address) button, change default lines from 10

    Currently on ECC 6.0.
I would like to change the default setting of "Number of Lines" from 10 to 6 within the "Preview" button on the Address tab within XD01,2,&3.
This would be a system or user setting so the user doesn't have to manually change the "Number of lines" via the Parameter button each time in XD03.  So I know we can change it manually from 10 to 6 via the Parameter button, however, I don't want to have to do this.  I want the default setting, for all users, to be 6 instead of 10.
I see you can have a "user-specific" default sender country parameter, however, I can't find where to change the system or user default setting of the Number of Lines from 10 to what we want, 6.
Got lost in the debugger, in XD03, trying to capture where this value was being set from.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    David

    Hi,
XD03 calls FM ADDRESS_INTO_PRINTFORM which is responsible for formatting. You can see that import parameter number_of_lines has default value 10. There is a user exit EXIT_SAPLSADR_001 for this function group where you can change this default value. It is only called in case of address format key is in customer range (900 - 999). So maybe you can define your own address format and modify default value in this user exit.
In case you don't want to define your address format for some reason then there are another solutions. If you are on SAP NetWeaver then you can try to use implicit enhancement point to change this value at the beginning of FM ADDRESS_INTO_PRINTFORM. If you are not on NetWeaver you can modify default value of this FM. You will have to modify SAP standard.
    Cheers

  • Mail changes default sending account intermittently

    I'm running OSX 10.6 and Mail 4.6.
The default send account  designation has recently become screwy. Have changed no settings. Seems  to pick an account at random. What I want to use as a default send account is  at the top of the list in Accounts, as recommened. It is Gmail IMAP. Mail has  changed it to a different Gmail account, but also once an SBC account. If I don't  pay attention to the From line, I end up sending from the wrong account.  Oddly, my iPhone has had the same problem--beginning around the same  time. Don't use iCloud.

Look in Mail, Preferences, Account Information tab for each account in question and see if the option at the bottom of the page for Outgoing Mail Server 'Use only this server' is checked.
This screenshot is from Mail 6.6 and an iCloud account (OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, because I'm not on my 10.6.8 system at the moment), but I'm certain there's a similar option in Mail on OS X 10.6.8 regardless of which email type (POP or IMAP) is in use.
